Very cute and hip coffee shop. Tons of fun coffee/cocktail options and ample seating. Their matcha latte is particularly good— not too sweet if you order it without the vanilla sweetener. It has a slight floral taste to it which is lovely! I’m giving a 4 star review because the cafe does not have wifi.

Google
A cute coffee shop with quirky wall art. They have a good variety of food to choose from (we both got the BLT with egg and yogurt parfaits), and when we specified a gluten allergy, they offered to clean the griddle to reduce any cross contamination. It wasn't necessary for our needs, but it was thoughtful of them to offer despite how busy they were. The lattes were delicious, and the staff was very friendly and patient while we placed our order.

Very nice. Extremely good coffee & friendly staff. Highly recommend.

I recently visited Café Sasso with my daughter for a cup of coffee, and unfortunately, the experience was far from enjoyable. The décor is beautiful, which initially got me excited, especially to see the design on my fancy, overpriced latte. However, as you can see in the picture, the latte art was a complete joke—a 5-year-old could have done a better job. On top of that, this is definitely not the place to relax on your phone or laptop. There’s a sign at the entrance clearly stating that there’s no public WiFi, which feels outdated and unwelcoming in today’s world. The worst part, though, was the customer service. Not even a simple “hello” when I walked in. Instead, the staff stood there impatiently, looking irritated as I tried to navigate the menu on the wall. Their attitude came across as, “You should be happy I’m serving you,” which made the entire experience uncomfortable. There are plenty of other coffee shops in Rochester where you can enjoy quality drinks and be treated like royalty. I wouldn’t recommend Café Sasso to anyone—it’s overpriced, overrated, and lacking in the customer service department.

Cafe Sasso is a fantastic spot with great coffee, amazing food, and a beautiful interior featuring an artistic atmosphere. They also offer a wide collection of drinks, and their Italian sodas are a must-try. Whether you're there for a caffeine fix, a meal, or a unique beverage, the ambiance and quality make it a standout choice.

Google
Busy place! Stopped in mid morning on a weekend and this place was slamming. Despite the long line, the baristas there moved quickly and were friendly and informative. One of the only coffee shops to offer a full food menu all day. Love the atmosphere and my latte was amazing; even had a cute design on it. I ordered a basic egg and cheese on croissant which hit the spot

ahsila gnik

Google
It's the best coffee spot in town. Wide variety of drinks spirits included. Food is also great, and pastries I believe are sourced from Cheesy Eddie's, which speaks for itself. The atmosphere is nice. Love sitting down to enjoy my espresso and muffin.

Google
I really enjoy setting up with my work and an iced coffee on the window ledge! Super kind staff and nice seating options. Happy with all the basic coffee bevs I have gotten :) Note that there’s no wifi so if you need internet make sure to have your own connection! I find that the music can be pretty loud so I bring loop ear plugs!

Yelp
Cafe Sasso is a such a hidden gem in Rochester! This was my go-to cafe for a long time when I lived in the city. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it is usually BUSY. Which is great for business, but less ideal for customers. It can be difficult to find seating during the busiest hours, especially on weekends. The drinks are tasty and it's always fun to try out a coffee cocktail as well. It's an equally great place to go out on a date or find a quiet study nook to get some work done (when it's not at its busiest). The food is decent but not the shining point of this establishment. That being said, the Zesty Zappa is a Saturday morning breakfast staple for me. My favorite thing about this place is the atmosphere! Local artists have their work displayed on the walls from floor to ceiling which creates a very cozy and welcoming space.

Yelp
I was in the mood for a pastry and coffee and came here. The setting with some tables, a counter against the wall, draperies, photos & paintings creates an appealing ambiance to sit and chat with a bunch of friends or just sit quietly to sip and eat your meal. It has an ample menu of cocktails, sandwiches, and a few pastries, coffee, tea. I really liked it.

Jessica D.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday so it was super crowded but there was a lot of seating both inside and outdoors. Wanted to get a bagel but it was a 30 minute wait so I got a pistachio muffin which was great. They have both coffee and cocktails and overall it's a very cozy, artsy vibe. There is no public wifi which is the main downside if you're looking for a study spot

Kat W.

Yelp
4.5 stars but rounding up. I am just subtracting half a star for no wifi, but otherwise, love this cafe so much that we came back twice in a week. Great study spot with many outlets. Menu is expansive (sandwiches, coffee/teas, and even cocktails). Staff is nice and food is tasty. Tried two different sandwiches - one on each occasion (a chicken pesto and a chicken sun dried tomato) and both were delicious. Moist, juicy chicken and warm and toasty. Iced spiced chai is tasty here - would not recommend the iced matcha though (very milky with very little matcha). Cocktails are also refreshing and tasty. Probably one of my favorite cafes in Rochester. Will definitely be back routinely!

Jackson A.

Yelp
I went in while visit Rochester and needed a spot to kill an hour and wake up with a coffee. I ordered a iced latte with oat milk & amaretto which was a great choice. Would recommend to anyone looking for coffee!

Katie C.

Yelp
My favorite coffee shop in the Rochester area! Great tasting coffee and breakfast sandwiches. Inside is filled with local art which adds a great ambiance. It is usually pretty busy on the weekends. They have outside seating as well.

Dustin Y.

Yelp
Had some time to kill before the shows tonight at Comedy at the Carlson so I popped into this cozy joint to write some jokes. This place is really nice. Lots of cool art on the wall and the couch is comfy! There's a giant peace sign out front so if you like your coffee shops with a bit of war this place is not for you. They have cocktails too but I didn't get one because ol' Dusty has a little bit of a drinking problem hahaha (seriously) but I'm sure they're great. Nice baristas. Nice coffee. Five stars!

Olivia B.

Yelp
Cute cafe on Park Ave! Came here around lunch time on a weekday and luckily it wasn't too busy when we we got there! I love all of the art inside. They have seating inside as well. I got the Presto Pesto with a side salad (+$1) and an iced mocha. I thought the mocha was okay, and I enjoyed my food. I think this is a cute place and a great place to meet up with friends or get some work done.

Kat P.

Yelp
Excellent little coffee shop. It's not huge so seating inside can be a little tight, but there is additional seating outside. I try to time my visits for when it's a little slow as I to get some writing done while having my coffee. It's not the most ideal coffee shop to work from, but it's possible during slower hours. The coffee is delicious. So far all the food I've tried has been amazing. Really, this is a place you visit to have a chat with friends or a meal. Or liquor if that's your thing. Parking is 95% street parking, which can be limited to an hour.

Molly R.

Yelp
6/5 stars. My favorite cafe in Rochester. The staff is friendly and work diligently to get all orders in. The cafe is decorated so fun and there are lots of unique places to sit. I loved to study here throughout college. The coffee is wonderful, as well as the specialty coffees. When I'm in need of a non caffeinated drink the mango smoothie is super refreshing. The best part is the number of gluten free items (sandwiches in particular) that are made GF without an up charge.

Yelp
Deserts were great!!! Would recommend coming here again. Clean easy service. Great outdoor patio for dogs

Yelp
Okay let me start by saying Cafe sasso is a legit coffee joint in the grand ol city of rochacha! A real Funky joint, artsy, classy, open-minded flare! They Gita great coffee/tea/paninis/cocktails/muffins/pastries et Al....如果你有空的话,你一定要来这里尝试一,尤其是因为你绝对不会后悔的!哈哈哈哈哈哈 git er done! I luv this joint, I used to come here a lot back in the day, great place to come and get a nice cup of Joe and just really chill out! Hahah enjoy it! Now how did this place get their name? I just found this out.....so this joint used to be boulder coffee like 7,8 years ago. and the word "sasso" means "stone" in Italian. So essentially cafe sasso is like the "little boulder"'coffee shop Hahhahaha like the "sasso" took the place of the really big "sasso" the boulder, after boulder coffee closed! Isn't this place nuts! Hahahhah But it is way cool!

Gabe J.

Yelp
My last review of this place got taken down because apparently our friends at Yelp are staunch supporters of our stalwart officers of the law, just like Cafe Sasso, where they can be found almost any time of day. Naturally I have no objection to the upstanding agents of justice that are the RPD and so I have no objection to Yelp's decision to take down my prior review. As I stated in that review, Boulder coffee has a very similar vibe to Cafe Sasso. Just in case you had any reason to consider another coffee shop, but why would you? Yelp suggests I comment on the service at Cafe Sasso so of course I will comply with that as well. The service at Cafe Sasso is at least as good as Yelp is an ethical social media platform.

Hannah R.

Yelp
My sister nancy latte is sooo good and the breakfast sandwiches are also very delicious. My only complaint is when I get the hot coffee its not always super hot.

Kristen H.

Yelp
Perfect little spot on Park Avenue. Come for coffee in the morning stay for drinks in the afternoon. You'll feel like you're sitting in an art gallery! Lovely sitting inside or out. Service is fast and friendly. Coffee is served piping hot!

Gerard D.

Yelp
Neat little place on Park Avenue. The owners/servers were smiley and helpful. The little breakfast sandwich they put together was perfect. All kinds of patrons from police to young singles. Furnishings are unique and comfortable. Service was quick and personal.

Jenna R.

Yelp
Cool idea, fast service. I got their macho caramel iced. It's dark and artsy in there. I also tried their chocolate croissant, it was decent. I'll be back to try some more.

Alan R.

Yelp
This is such a lovely little cafe with really friendly waitstaff. I stopped by while driving through Rochester and it was such a relaxing experience. The area is super chill and the food and drinks were a delicious way to start my morning. To begin, I had an iced coffee with pistachio flavoring and the Notorious BLT sandwich. Although the coffee wasn't really sweet (I could easily have asked for additional sweetener so that's on me), the pistachio flavor still came across very nicely and the quality of the coffee itself was great. The BLT was excellent, I really loved how they replaced the traditional mayonnaise with cream cheese, which added a little extra depth to both the flavor and texture of the sandwich. Between the cream cheese and the bacon, delicious fatty and umami flavors were given off, which were juxtaposed with the light, refreshing greens. I finished up with an affogato to go and it was my absolute favorite part of the meal. It's super simple, but with a scoop of good vanilla ice cream, poured over with and melted by a rich, robust espresso, it was absolutely divine. I would definitely recommend this place for a nice, low key breakfast or lunch spot. It has a very calming atmosphere, is in a nice area, and the food and drinks are incredibly enjoyable.

Yelp
Love this coffee shop! Can be a bit busy at times, but the staff is very fast and accommodating even at the busiest of times. They have wonderful lattes, I've always loved all of the ones I have gotten. I like mine on the sweeter side but not too sweet, so the dark chocolate is my favorite and is good to mix with other flavors. Food is always great. I love their chocolate croissants warmed up and I just had their Jefferson Bagel Sandwich which was SO good. I love messy, saucy egg sandwiches with alot of flavor and this one has it I also LOVE how they toasted it in the panini press, it had a good crunch. Also my latte today wasn't super sweet so I asked for a bit more flavor and they had no problem with that. All the staff is super nice!

Aaron I.

Yelp
Cool place with great vibes, a friendly staff, and good coffee and food. I came from NYC but will definitely go back the next time I'm in Rochester.

Vincent D.

Yelp
I ordered a regular coffee, my daughter ordered an iced coffee and we split a warm chocolate croissant. The coffee was full-bodied and smooth. My daughter said her coffee was balanced well with sweet and strong coffee but was very small, even for a small. The croissant was flaky, buttery and not too sweet. The service was functional, not overly friendly. The atmosphere was cool with lots of art to look at. However, the tables were tiny. Barely enough to fit coffees and our own bakery item. There is no public wifi, which may be one of the first cafes I've visited without internet access. That, with the table size spoke clearly they didn't want business to be done at their place. It is clearly for hanging out to read or be social only.

Mark T.

Yelp
Some vegan cookies from red fern and many other pastries. Very creative coffee drinks and also mixed drinks. Their food menu has many options but only one that can easily be made vegan.

Jen R.

Yelp
Still a solid space and place on Park Ave for coffee and those evening hour drinks with a libation in it. Staff is as always pleasant and helpful a plus. Due to our world they usually had a little outside seating and now they have more wrapping around the corner a plus during the warmer months. Still a solid place to come in and get some work done and it's quiet. I really enjoy my London Fog Latte as well as other things. It's Park Ave so it's street parking and if you can find something in the lot in the back good for you.

Kathryn T.

Yelp
My friend and I went there for coffee. Their coffee and red velvet cupcake were so delicious!!! It was my first time going there. My friend went there years ago and she mentioned that some things have changed but she made a comment that she likes the new arrangement better. It is more roomy and expanding seatings. It is very cozy and love the decorations that are full of artists who create amazing paintings, photos, and crafts. We were able to find a parking spot as they have a parking lot. I would recommend anyone to go there for their delicious coffee. They also have teas. I would try them next time I come for a drink.

Erin T.

Yelp
Cute, cozy cafe. We each got the Sergeant Pepper which was their version of a mexican mocha. Staff was friendly. This is a good place to read a book or chat with friends.

Aylene I.

Yelp
Great little spot for coffee. They also make paninis and cocktails! I'll have to come back to try another time, bc if the food and drinks is as good as the coffee it will be excellent. The vibe is awesome, with a gallery wall and living room style. Certainly a place to stop on Park Ave

Kimberly H.

Yelp
Super cozy place; it has a lot of energy in the evenings, and really an ideal place to chat with friends and hang out.

Christine E.

Yelp
First time here, honestly came for the sandwich on the menu I saw online while looking for a new coffee shop lol. The customer service is on fleek, friendly, welcoming, and great recommendations. I got the stone roller espresso drink and franklins tower breakfast sandwich. Absolutely excellent flavor and the the ambiance is so chill n comfy. I will definitely be coming back again and recommending it to many others:)

Hannah L.

Yelp
I'm a sucker for stopping into cute coffee shops, and during a recent visit to Rochester, this one stole the show! Lots of indoor and outdoor space to hang out or do work. TONS of art to buy on the walls which I absolutely adore. Not only did it provide beautiful decor, it offered the opportunity to see what local artists have to offer. Quite an extensive coffee menu. On the pricier side for coffee but definitely wouldn't break the bank. I got an iced cappuccino. It was on the stronger side but I'm definitely not complaining! Rich flavor and it was served in a mason jar which just adds to the cute-ness of my experience at Cafe Sasso. I come to Rochester from time to time, but I'll definitely make it a point to stop back here next time I'm out in the Flower City!

Mauwa A.

Yelp
Skyler was an impeccable server! Went above and beyond to make sure orders and drinks were correct and that we were satisfied with everything! This place is overall just very cute!!

Michelle D.

Yelp
Very eccentric cafe located in the heart of Park Ave. limited seating with tables and couches to seat. Hip music while you sit back have coffee and bite to eat while enjoying all the unique decor. Food is tasty. Provide bagels, paninis, hot and cold coffees. Definitely a must try

Ricky Z.

Yelp
Coffee and alcohol, what could be better?! While maybe not a natural fit on its surface, one visit to Cafe Sasso will surely change your mind. During the day, the cafe has a variety of coffee drinks, snacks, and baked goods to choose from. At night, the menu opens up to include coffee cocktails that will run you around $8. The setting definitely lends itself more coffee shop than bar with its worn out couches, mismatch furniture and art from local artists on the wall. With that being said, I still enjoyed my coffee cocktail on my first visit and think it's a great spot for a low key night. Super unique spot in Rochester that I hope sticks around a long time!

Alex S.

Yelp
The ambiance is fabulous. It's a cool place to hangout at. The coffee was really good but can't say the same about their chocolate croissant

Andrea H.

Yelp
Cafe Sasso has some great outdoor seating for enjoying your coffee safely during the pandemic. Their tables do seem to have enough space between them, and there are generally a few available if you are needing a place to do your work that is somewhere other than your house or just need a moment in a third space. Their coffee is pretty good, and they have a lot of specialty flavors. I do wish they had a few more options for non-dairy milk, but they currently do have soy and almond. (Cafe Sasso, if you are reading this, please add oat milk!) Some non-dairy (vegan) pasties would be nice if they added too. I do like that they have non-dairy topping options for bagels, such as avocado. I had a wonderful avocado bagel from here the other day. The staff is uncertain how they will cope with the upcoming winter taking away their outdoor seating, and they worry they may have to go back to take out only with ordering at the door, which they did for a while when they first re-opened. It's a good local business, and worth supporting. Stop in and get a coffee here, or at the other nearby coffee and tea places I recently reviewed!

John W.

Yelp
Cafe Sasso is a great place with good coffee and food, along a friendly staff. Not to forget, the electric collection of art covering the walls.

Colin L.

Yelp
The baristas are all extremely friendly, however I've had mixed experiences with the drinks in the few times I've been there. I've ordered the same drink multiple times and one time it was bitter and dark and the next it was overly sweet to the point where I gave up drinking it. The food has been good the few times I've ordered it, so I'd your hungry while there it's definitely worth a try.

Ariana S.

Yelp
The COOLEST little coffee stop right on the corner! It was my first time in Rochester, and this place was recommended by a local. They are taking all necessary precautions and following social distancing guidelines with everyone wearing masks and waiting outside for their orders. The interior is super cool with all the eclectic wall decor and antique furniture covering the space. The outside is quite the opposite with cute little tables and lots of plants. This place really has something for everyone. We tried a signature drink, "Gatsby" that has white chocolate, espresso, lavender, and steamed milk. Great flavors, super rich taste. It was different in the best way possible. Definitely would come back to try more of their signature drinks!

Joseph C.

Yelp
Been here a few times... always friendly service and everything I've tried has been amazing. It's also very cool inside with a bunch of art and good music I'll be back

Maureen E.

Yelp
Coffee is excellent as are the adult beverages. This coffee shop is my favorite in Rochester. The ambiance can't be beat

Michelle B.

Yelp
Absolutely loved it! Went twice in one day, for two different get-togethersI adore the vibe, the coffee was fantastic, and the sandwich I had for breakfast was a 10 out of 10. And the service was so kind, really upbeat, and friendly! I highly recommend this place!

Jessie T.

Yelp
This place is always busy! Ordered a Cortado and turkey bagel sandwich. Both were terrific! Luckily it was a warm December day, so I could sit outside to eat as there was no seating inside. Also, no public wifi.

Mynika C.

Yelp
Café Sasso is a nice, quaint coffee bar/café that we popped into. Located the place here on Yelp of course, and also received recommendation from a local. The ambience/vibe/atmosphere was very calm and quiet. Even with the place being packed you could still hear your thoughts. They offer a variety of cold and hot beverages with cocktails included. I ordered Fiona's Apple which is served as a cold cocktail, but they made it hot for me. It was great- I would highly recommend this if you are looking for a drink that is warm, and also provides a buzz. My sister ordered a hot coffee drink and her boyfriend had a chocolate chip cookie. haha. I was happy to see that they also had vegan treats! I attached some photos of the inside. Enjoy!

Liana B.

Yelp
Best cafe in Rochester. It's a small place broadcasting beautiful, quirky art and decor from local artists all over the interior. In the summer months outdoor seating is available too. Plan on parking on a side street and walking a short distance as it is on Park Ave. Also be mindful that during COVID they are only accepting card too. In addition to coffee, they sell breakfast, lunch, a variety of pastries and gluten, vegan free options, and cocktails too. I recommend the Presto Pesto panini which is made on local bread. Delicious! The chocolate croissants are good too. If you're looking for a place to get some work done, meet up with some friends to catch up or grab some great food- this is your place.

Zachary T.

Yelp
Wonderful beverages, staff, atmosphere, and owner is extremely personable and interacts with guests.

Danielle S.

Yelp
I love Cafe Sasso. It's smaller (space-wise), as most businesses on Park Ave are, but I think that adds to the cozy feel. It's within walking distance of the shop I take my car to for oil changes, so I love coming over here to relax while I wait. The environment is inviting and chill. I could take my laptop and sit there all day (although I wouldn't, since space is limited and I wouldn't want to overstay my welcome!). I really like their seating area. They have higher barstool seats near the front windows, plus a couch and chairs and separate tables, so there's something for everyone. There's also outdoor seating in the warmer months. My favorite drink is the Stone Roller, it's sweet but is a nice treat for when I want to indulge. They have a ton of different drinks to choose from and the prices are reasonable. Cafe Sasso is probably my favorite coffee shop in Rochester to just sit and relax at due to the quieter atmosphere (at least, during the times I've gone) and the cozy feel.

Caitlin M.

Yelp
Cafe Sasso is a Park Ave favorite! I have gone 4+ times and always find something new to try. Their sandwiches are absolutely delish. I am not a coffee drinker and am impressed by their options here. Last time I tried an Italian soda, which is sparkling water and a pump of flavoring. They have a bunch of flavors available but I tried the lavender and it was amazing!! Not super sweet but so refreshing for summertime. That is my new favorite thing. The service is also great, as they helped me pick a flavor out.

Elizabeth R.

Yelp
So this is probably my favorite coffee shop in Rochester or like top 2. Reasons why: the fun extended drink menu (lavender latte mmmm), the extensive food menu (with super delicious options and all reasonably priced), and ultimately the interior. It's very important to me to have comfortable seating if I want to pull out my laptop while sipping my beverage. And this place, thankfully, has chairs with backs in addition to stool seating around the perimeter of the place. There's fun artwork and the front windows bring in natural light, yet it's cozy and darker in the back so you can pick your light level. Also couches are available. So it's basically perfect. I love the artwork and their playlist yesterday (while the music might've been a little loud for people, I loved it). When I think of what I want out of a coffee shop, this is it. Highly recommend!

Lynn S.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere of this place. The best is you can have wine or tea/coffee, the best of two worlds. A friend and I needed a chill place to unwind after a hard day's work and we shared one of their too-die for paninis and it was probably the best panini we had ever had. I enjoyed my latte while she enjoyed a nice glass of wine. They also have amazing home baked goods to go with your drinks as well. We also enjoyed all the interesting art work highlighting all local artists. Now she is a frequent customer since she lives in the area. Definitely check it out!
