My totally smoking hot and real girlfriend treated me to a nice dinner and I am very glad she did. The service here is very good and helpful. I’d highly recommend the sole and the portobello soup. Both were totally top notch. The prices are a little high but it comes through in the food and service. Lots here to praise. I’d recommend coming and checking them out.

Cafe Sole came as a recommendation by friends. It’s a quaint neighborhood spot which made for a lovely evening off the beaten path of Duval St. We were on time to our reservation, however, it took a little bit to get seated. Once seated, it took a while to get water and to meet our waitress for the evening. It was clearly busy within the restaurant, which we are understanding of but when it took an hour and twenty minutes for our food to come, we were all growing weary. Fortunately the food was delicious and the staff were pleasant. We all agreed it would’ve been a home run had the wait times not been so long. The key lime pie was out of this world, I will be looking to replicate it somehow - or simply another visit will do.

This a true dining experience! The hogfish was done to perfection! Our server, Patricia, was amazing! We truly felt that we were her only table. This is a "must try" if you've not been there!

Café Solé is a charming little restaurant with wonderful romantic vibes — cozy, intimate, and perfect for a relaxed evening in Key West. Hands down, they serve the best Key lime pie in town. We always order two slices to enjoy at the bar and a whole pie to take home. The pie is rich and creamy with a sweet meringue topping that perfectly balances the slight tartness of the lime filling. It’s absolutely addictive! This visit, we also tried some appetizers — the clam linguini was fresh and flavorful, and the lobster bisque was rich and packed with generous chunks of lobster. The bartender recommended a great glass of Riesling that paired beautifully with our seafood dishes. The staff were warm and attentive, making us feel right at home. We’re definitely coming back next time for dinner to explore more of the menu! If you’re visiting Key West, don’t miss Café Solé — and definitely don’t leave without trying their incredible Key lime pie!

Google
Wonderful meal at Cafe Sole! Their signature hogfish snapper was delicious, though the sauce was a bit heavier than I expected. Honestly the star of the night for me were the Fresh Anchovies. They were truly amazing with very delicious and interesting sauces. The tuna pistachio was also very good, loved the combination of pistachios with Asian-style sauces. I would come back just to have an assortment of all their different appetizers and of course the anchovies!

Absolutely adore this place. You can taste the love they put in. Even the Ceasar salad... literally the BEST we'd ever had. The escargot-- tender perfection. The mushroom soup-- layers of unexpected flavor. And the waiter, Max, so knowledgeable and polished. An experience we intend to repeat often. Thank you 👌🏼❤️

Service was great and everyone was friendly. Everything we got was flavorable and delicious. The Lobster bisque was delicious and so was the hogfish sole dinner and the prime steak. We weren’t sure how the steak would turn out since they are known for their fish but the steak was a good cut and made perfect and the sauce that came with it was delicious. For dessert we highly recommend the banana foster. It was so yummy. We really enjoyed our time and food there. Highly recommend. I will def be back whenever I visit key west. It’s one of favorite dinner spots in key west.

We came here for a Valentine’s dinner and upon arriving, we advised the gentleman at the host stand that we had reservations, when he couldn’t find them, we checked our cell phone app to learn that we inadvertently made reservations at the wrong “Café Sole” as the one we selected was in Jupiter, FL, not Key West… Oops! They were packed and had a long line waiting as well, so we thought we were out of luck, then he suggested it would be an hour wait, but he could fit us in, which we would willingly accept. Or, he said we could sit at their bar! Yes, they have a very small, two-person bar, but it was beautiful, quaint and perfect for our V-Day dinner! From the moment we sat down, all the staff who engaged us were very friendly and helpful! They have a very nice winelist, so we selected a nice bottle and then I noticed they were pouring a lot of Caymus and when I asked, I learned that it was only $25/glass, so I opted for one of those too! We started our dinner with the stone crab claws, which are a fair deal at $50 for 2 medium size claws. The meat was buttery and tasty! I got a bowl of their gazpacho, which was very enjoyable and slightly on the chunky side, but I enjoyed the texture. Their bread and spread for the bread was very nice and that spread is like a bold, herbed garlic with EVOO – really tasty. The gazpacho also has a heavy presence of garlic, again something I enjoyed. The wife got their beet salad and she loved every bite of it! For our entrées, we both got fish; I got the Grouper and she got the Hog Fish and both were prepared perfectly! The lima beans and mashed potatoes that came with both dishes were very flavorful! These entrées were huge, I had a tough time finishing mine, which is probably the first time I’ve not eaten all my fish! Overall, this was a very enjoyable experience and an excellent dinner… Highly recommend stopping in, but make reservations!

Yelp
We had Cafe Sole recommended to us by two different locals touting the duck as outstanding. Cute little cafe well off Duval with a covered & walled patio as well as inside and on street tables. Our server, Allan, was very helpful and friendly. Great wine list by the glass, as well as bottles. Almost every bottle was available by the glass. (Note: they do NOT have a full bar) We started with the Beet and goat cheese with arugula and raspberry truffle vinaigrette salad. The kitchen was kind enough to split it for us to share. This salad was outstanding. The flavors melded so well, and you could taste the truffle (but you weren't gone to burp it up for the next 12 hours, haha) My husband got their specialty, the Hogfish snapper Sole which was very tender with a wonderfully rich hollandaise sauce. It was served with mashed potatoes, risotto, carrots and beans (Lima beans?) I got the Duck a L'orange, which was delicious. It was 2 drumsticks & thighs. The first one was cooked PERFECTLY, though the second one on the plate was overdone and dry - but still great flavor. The l'orange sauce had a nice spice to it. It was served with asparagus and broccolini, mashed potatoes and a roasted tomato. We would have tried the desserts (they looked very good), but we had to meet folks elsewhere. Definitely a place to try if you want to get away from Duvall street. Make a reservation!

Yelp
This place is off the beaten path in Old Town Key West. It is definitely worth the walk. We sat on the patio, which was well lit and private (we were the first people there). Not only did we get seated right away, they brought us the best hummus I have ever had. My husband does not like hummus, he tried it though, and absolutely loved it. (picture to follow). I had the stone crab claws (2) and cream of mushroom soup which both were amazing. The only thing I did not like about the soup was the peppercorn's. Otherwise, it was the best mushroom soup with Asiago cheese I have ever experienced. My husband had the linguini and clams. I have to give our server credit, she did tell him the clams were tiny and quite a bit of work, and she was very honest! We will definitely return.

Yelp
wholeheartedly recommend.Cafe Solé is hands-down my favorite restaurant in Key West. It's the kind of place that keeps you coming back with its incredible food and charming atmosphere. If you're a fan of Hogfish (or even if you've never tried it), this is the spot to indulge. Their Hogfish is simply the best--light, delicate, buttery, and packed with flavor. It's a dish that alone makes the visit worth it. While the vegetables don't stand out and are more of a supporting act, the main dishes more than make up for it. Surprisingly, even the beet salad is a must-try--even for those who don't usually like beets. And if seafood isn't your thing, their ribeye steak is also a solid choice, cooked to perfection and satisfying in every way. The ambiance is a delightful mix of romantic and casual, making it suitable for a date night or a relaxed dinner with friends. Seating is a bit tight, and you'll likely find yourself close to neighboring tables, but it's part of the charm--just enough space for a muted conversation while still enjoying the intimate vibe. Their wine list is fantastic, offering a great selection to pair with their excellent food. Service is top-notch, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who make the experience even better. If you're in Key West, Cafe Solé is an absolute must. From the standout Hogfish to the warm atmosphere, it's a dining experience you won't forget. Don't miss it!

Yelp
Great Hog snapper specialty of the house. Beautiful setting and service was pretty good. Definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
Back to Café Sole, and it was just as amazing as the first time! The service was spot on super friendly, and made us feel right at home. The cozy welcoming vibe sets the perfect mood, but it's the food that truly steals the show. Every dish is packed with flavor and creativity just unforgettable. We'll definitely be back to Café Sole season after season!

Yelp
Our favorite spot in Key West to eat little fishies! We were told that they were a local favorite.. and they weren't wrong! They had amazing fish.. awesome steak, pate and foie gras! I'm convinced that you can't find a bad item in the menu. The only thing that we regret not trying was their key lime pie. We took particular note of it when the lady next to literally moaned with eyes closed with every bite, to the point that I feared parents would have to cover their child's ears whilst she moaned in ecstasy. Needless to say, my wife in particular is demanding we go back to try it. I'm slightly confused by her sense of urgency.. however shall comply! For more food place tips, IG: @Sarasota_Foodie_Couple

Yelp
The experience was okay for the price. The ambiance was nice as it was half outside with fans and had low lighting. The oysters were very fresh and good even without cocktail sauce. The soups were a little bit salty especially the french onion soup. when hot, the lobster bisque was not as salty. the ingram salad was really good but not that much pear. we got the caviar service which was pretty good and was a good amount but we also asked for more bread with it. we probably wouldn't get the caviar again though. the bread and hummus they have is also very unique and tasty we kept eating it. The hogfish was great and very buttery. can understand why it's their signature dish. The scallops were a little rubbery and not seared. the sides were interesting and kinda not cohesive in my opinion. there was carrots beans potatoes and rice. We got the lamb without the truffle and it was still very good. the pasta dishes are the best--highly recommend them. we got the baby clams appetizer and the fruit of the sea. i preferred the baby clams because it has a bit of a kick with the pepper flakes. the dessert was amazing. the best keylime pie i've had so far the marshmallow really balanced the tartness of the lime. the almond whipped cream really elevated the desserts. the chocolate pecan pie was my favorite though. the bananas foster was also really good and not too bitter from the alcohol.

Yelp
A fantastic shrimp scampi I will never forget. Everything about Sole was equally beautiful and delicious. The outdoor seating we had was charming and majestic with a very classy appeal. It gave off an intimate vibe despite the amount of seating. My beef carpaccio had a thinly cut freshness that was a good teaser for the rest of my meal. My highlight was my shrimp scampi that I couldn't give enough praise for. I'd go back here just to order this again. The noodles absorbed the sum of its parts so well with the oil and sauce. I don't know how else to describe how it tasted so good. I really enjoyed the key lime pie as well. I found torching the cream on top slightly unnecessary, the cake itself along with the graham cracker crust more than made up for it (which honestly didn't really need to be made up for.) The staff was exceptional as well. We didn't have to wait long for service and everything came as expected. They gave us good wine recommendations as well.

Yelp
This place is amazing! A very intimate atmosphere with a few tables inside and a few more outside. Our server was fantastic and informative about the dishes. Everything we got for food was amazing, the fish was fresh, the lobster bisque was amazing and the key lime pie fantastic. They only serve wine and beer no cocktails but they have a good selection. A great date night spot as it's super quiet and cute inside. Amazing place!

Yelp
This was our favorite place from our trip to Key West. Everything was amazing. The food was unbelievable from our mushroom soup to entrees to the wine. My husband got the duck and the hog snapper was the best fish dish I've ever eaten. Our waiter Alan was friendly, informative and knew everything about the menu. You can tell this place has a master chef. The ambiance was intimate and oh so comfortable. Every trip to the Key West should include Cafe Sole.

Yelp
This was our first time here and they are only open for dinner. My wife had the wedge salad, lobster bisque and the hogfish - she savored every bite. I had the baby clams and the snapper, which was equally as good. Very romantic place to take someone to, as it's a little dark, candlelit and you feel you have your own personal space to have a conversation. The service here is super friendly, extremely responsive - never had to wait for anything. We certainly will come back here the next time we are in Key West. If you haven't been, it's worth looking into.

Yelp
We ordered four appetizers which were all home runs. ANGELS ON HORSE BACK, BAKED ARTICHOKES APHRODISIAC, SAGANAKI, TUNA "TATAKI". I ordered the GAZPACHO DE MADRID for my soup it was fantastic! Main course was BABY CLAMS WITH GARLIC, WHITE WINE, PARSLEY AND CRUSHED RED PEPPER OVER ANGEL HAIR PASTA. For my daughter. My wife had the RACK OF LAMB, and my two sons had the HOG SNAPPER ~CHEF CORREA'S AWARD WINNING DISH I ordered the DUCK A L`ORANGE DUCKLING ROASTED TO PERFECTION WITH OUR CLASSIC ORANGE SAUCE MADE WITH FRESH ORANGE JUICE AND DEMI-GLAZE. Dessert, my daughter and I both ordered dessert. My daughter ordered the Keylime pie, which was wonderful, and I ordered the passionfruit flan which was the evenings special. Service was professional with a warm welcoming feeling. Our overall experience is a positive one, and we plan on returning. Ambiance is truly memorable and executed perfectly with a natural great taste in design inside and out. Love this place. If you want to wow your significant other, bring them here. Wine list is amazing too, even though I do not drink any longer, my family does.

Yelp
Delicious fish with very pleasant atmosphere! Was not thrilled with the dog sitting at the table next to us! Apparently this is very accepted in Key West.

Yelp
We are at this restaurant two nights in a row on our three days on Key West, it was that good. The first night we ordered off the menu and all 4 of us loved our dishes. I can't recall what each of us had, but when you go 4 for 4, you can assume you can't go wrong with anything you order. The waitress was fantastic: so engaging and very professional. You can tell when it's a profession vs a side gig. She told us they cook up fish that you bring in, and it so happened that the next day we went charter fishing and took our haul of mangrove snapper to Cafe Sole, asked for the same waitress and thoroughly enjoyed dinner again. We had choices of how the fish was prepared; we chose sautéed and blackened. Then there were three sauces to put on the fish. It was served with a side of mixed vegetables. Delicious! Shout out to the wine selections which were broad and not outrageously priced. If we ever get back to Key West, we would head straight here.

Yelp
Had dinner here Saturday night 7/22. Service was top notch. Atmosphere was very nice. We had 2 orders of French Onion soup. Way too heavy on the sherry. 1 order of lobster bisque that was absolutely amazing. Filet Mignon was superb, the duck L'orange was superb as well. The mashed potatoes were awesome. My wife had the Saganaki for her entree and she said it was good. Desert was Key Lime pie topped with meringue. You could barely taste the lime flavor. We did enjoy our meal. It's definitely worth a try for other newcomers.

Yelp
The first time I visited Key West, well over a decade ago, I went to Cafe Sole. And I continue to come here from time to time. It's never going to blow your socks off, but it's always going to provide good service and a familiar menu. It is an intimate dining experience, the staff will always treat you well, and the seafood is tasty. There are better places, but there is a good reason that this place survives. People like it.

Margaret I.

Yelp
One of Key West's best restaurants. Consistently delicious food and excellent service.

Debbie L.

Yelp
Wonderful quiet respite away from Duval St. we stumbled on Cafe Sole near our bed and breakfast. I could have eaten here every night there were so many tempting options. Sadly, we only ate there once and I wasn't very hungry so had the French onion soup and the beet salad. Both were incredible. The staff were attentive but didn't hover. Don't miss this authentic French restaurant.

James H.

Yelp
Reserved a table before leaving Va for Key West. Upon arrival at Cafe Sole, the hostess told me we would have to eat at the bar. After I protested, a more experienced employee seated us after a few minutes. Food was below average. I had the hogfish (house specialty) which was mushy and tasteless. Presentation and preparation is several years behind trends. Wine glasses were cheap and way too thick - reminiscent of a diner or something purchased at the dollar store. Made enjoying a bottle of good wine impossible. Cafe Sole is in need of a refresh across the board - menu, service and food. Stay away.

Yelp
My husband and I go to Key West every year for my birthday/anniversary. This was a new place we went to. We sat at the bar area which only has two seats but it's very cute. Very quaint. The service was quite fast and felt like home. The ambience was, beautiful and just adorably cute. The food was great. I really wanted to have some conk and they had con carpacchio It was delicious but the lemon was a little overpowering but other than that it was fantastic and we will go next year when we come back. Not to mention our Server was the sweetest thing ever.

Yelp
This lovely romantic restaurant makes the absolutely best Hog Fish in Key West. Their award winning mushroom soup is an absolute explosion of flavors. Service is absolutely amazing, and their wine menu is extensive. Mark my words, this will be an extraordinary dining experience.

Yelp
What a beautiful experience! The food was absolutely delicious. A wonderful take on a beet salad. The scallops were wonderful. Our server was knowledgeable on both the menu and the history of the restaurant. A true gem on the island.

Yelp
I just can't get over how wonderful Cafe Sole is. I dare to say it's the best in town. It truly is in its own right. It's a very quaint space. The food is immaculate. The quality is superb and so so tasty, it brings tears to my eyes. I usually get the Baby Clams or the Duck. This time around I told Jason, my waiter, to surprise me with anything on the menu. It was an amazing way to try new things on the menu I may not have considered. Cafe Sole almost transports me to Europe. It will forever be my favorite.

Yelp
We stopped at this breakfast spot by random right before we headed to the beach. And it was the best decision of a lifetime. This restaurant is in a little enclosed space, it's super small it might be family owned. It looks like a mom and pop restaurant. But the breakfast is great! I had the pancakes which I really doubted in the beginning because I'm very picky with my pancakes. But these have to be the second or third best pancakes I've ever tasted. The scramble eggs were really nice. The servers were really helpful, they don't heat up there syrup here, and I really like warm syrup on my pancakes so the server was able to bring out a hot tea cup so I can place the syrup in there so I could warm up by the time I pancakes were out. I definitely recommend you going to try the spot out!

Viktoriya M.

Yelp
I rarely give less than 4-5 stars, but this place was not good at all. We were not happy with the slow service and attitude of our waiter. We were very disappointed with our meal. The fish came out with a greasy panko crust and the vegetables were mushy, looking like they were cooked days ahead. We sent the fish back and got a better one without the crust, but by then, the experience was already ruined. Definitely not worth the visit.

Yelp
Old school Caribbean/french cuisine in nice neighborhood about 8 blocks off Duval. There is outdoor as well as indoor and enclosed porch seating. Service was formal and attentive but initial course took more than 45 minutes to arrive. Food was good but very old fashioned from the 1980's or earlier. Portion sizes were larger than more modern restaurants which made up somewhat for the dated cooking & plating.

Liza V.

Yelp
I highly recommend Cafe Sole. It has amazing food! Each dish has it an own unique flavors from the main dish to the vegetables. The key lime pie was exquisite. The chef was extremely hospitable and open to questions about each dish. This a a must place to eat in Key West!

Yelp
Always an amazing dining experience at Cafe Sole. The food is amazing. The service is always wonderful. And we love the atmosphere as well.

Yelp
Cafe Sole is a top tier food experience in Key West. Very intimate and personable service. They have a variety of wines and each dish is very unique with intricate flavors in each dish. This is the place to go with a group or on a romantic evening, I usually spend 2 hours here trying all of their seasonal dishes. Thank you, always!

Yelp
An ok restaurant. The staff was a bit rude and pretentious. When we checked in for our indoor 8:30 pm reservation at 8:25 pm, the host asked us to sit outside at one of their street side tables. When I confirmed with him that our reservation was for indoors, he said, "Then I guess you'll have to wait then" and walked away. Not the most pleasant start to our dinner. Our waiter was very nice and pleasant. I had the lobster bisque which in their description notes "whole lobster". It was creamy and had the subtle hint of lobster but otherwise was lacking in flavor and lobster. What I love about lobster bisque is finding those small chunks of lobster with each spoonful, but their version does not have any. The Hogfish Snapper Sole (their most popular dish) was tasty. I liked the lightly breaded crunch on the outside with the delicate flaky fish on the inside. I would say that the snapper at Blue Heaven was much better and more memorable though. About the venue, most of the tables is outdoor in a patio area right outside of the host, check in area. It was clean and romantic. Now, the bathrooms on the other hand were kind of disgusting. First, they were basically outdoors, hot and humid and were stacked with kitchen supplies which I thought was a little gross.

Yelp
Excellent food and service A small intimate atmosphere With a charming vibe I had the shrimp scampi With roasted garlic Excellent

Yelp
Food, 10 out of 10; Service, 10 out of 10; Ambiance, 10 out of 10! Perfect restaurant choice for our 45th anniversary!

Yelp
Cafe Sole is simply adorable for a romantic date night, offering impeccable service and delicious food to match.

Philip T.

Yelp
The food here is excellent and perfect for foodies. The service is top notch. The ambiance is very Key West casual. If there were any complaints it would be the metal chairs are too hard to sit on (but you can request a pillow) and the dining is outdoor so it is a tad to warm in the summer months to be enjoyable.
google avatar

Derek R.

Yelp
Great food and service. Allen was our waiter. Hr did an excellent job. Highly recommend.

Yelp
New owners, liquor bar opened. We have been stopping in to get wraps on our way home from work around 7:30 PM for many many years before the new owner took over and has wraps only at lunch. Invited me to come at lunch anytime. This restaurant is beside my house and we travel from the Space coast to Miami for work and my wife is a nurse and works 12 hour shifts. I went in and asked him about it, and he laughed at me at the bar. There was only a few patrons there pages there, mind you the place only holds about 22 people. What he missed out on is every time I pick up food there to go I see two or three of my neighbors doing the same and his liquor bar will not support his greed. There are about three places in that Plaza that draw from his new business.

Yelp
YUM! Amazing French restaurant in Key West. It was crowded when we went on a Sunday night so reservations are a must. The hogfish is their speciality and it was fantastic. The arugula salad and lobster bisque were also delicious. Server gave us free dessert because he was busy when we got there and took a while to come over. We weren't expecting anything so it was a very nice gesture. Will definitely be back next time we're in Key West.

Matt L.

Yelp
Went twice, every dish is served nicely and fairly priced for island food. Service and ambiance was great as well

Yelp
While driving past this restaurant, I noticed an outdoor semi enclosed patio with candles. We did nit have reservations but they accommodated us and we sat outside. What a find! The service, the atmosphere and the food were all fantastic. The menu is eclectic and there were some appetizers and entrees that I would never be able to make so I ordered them. A culinary experience! If you like to experiment and try new things, you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Came here for our anniversary dinner- was impressed by the comfortable seating but not by the food. We ordered the escargot and lobster bisque as appetizers. The escargot was very good but the bisque was so lacking, especially for the price. Menu said there was a whole lobster in it, but we couldn't find a single piece of meat. For our entree we ordered the snapper solé. The fish was amazing, but the sides felt weird and out of place. As if they chose whatever was lying around. To give the benefit of the doubt, maybe I just don't like French cooking. Overall, I think there are a few things that are definitely worth ordering, which the waiter will tell you they are known for. I would recommend you don't stray from those things. It is definitely a cute place for a date or celebration, but not somewhere you come to get amazing food.

Yelp
4 of us dined here with reservations. Always an excellent experience! FOOD: Fantastic! The portobello soup is flavorful and just the right amount. The Hog Snapper is flaky, light, cooked beautifully. Even the side items are cooked with amazing flavor. SERVICE: Wonderful. Allen took great care of us. When we were first seated, and were served bread and hummus (complimentary), the power suddenly went out. We waited a few minutes, but there was no indication the power was coming back on so service was halted. We left and drove around and it seemed almost the entire island was out. After 10-15 minutes, the power came back on. We called Cafe Sole and they said they would save our table! So we returned and continued with our meal. ATMOSPHERE: It is cozy and romantic. Enough light to see the menu, but warm enough to set just the right mood. It is not crazy loud in there, even when the place was full. BAR: Good selection of wine. Hill Chard was $15/glass and the Bordeaux was $16. Average pours. This is one of the best restaurants in Key West. The food is always fresh, creative, but not over the top. Service is consistently good. Reservations are usually needed as it is not huge inside.

Yelp
Quaint small Key West house. Excellent service by Allen. Food was all delicious. Nice serving of Sauvignon Blanc, delicious Conch carpaccio and also escargot appetizer. The Hog Snapper was delicious and since I wanted to split with my husband, they graciously split in the kitchen the portion. Ordered the Dessert Trio with a delicious vanilla bean ice cream since unfortunately they did not have the Brulee the other memorable dessert included was the Key lime pie with homemade merengue. Lovely time. Thanks !

Omg 10 across the board The lobster bisque The Caeser salad The Conch carpaccio The Hogfish soo good.. The Chocolate pecan pie (just ok) not even posting pic The food minus the pie was Amazing! The service was excellent The establishment was cozy and nice A place worth trying but make a reservation. If I could 9.5's

Yelp
Everything was so delicious and tasteful. We had the grilled Hogfish and yellow tail snapper as our entrees. We had the beef capacio, Saganaki and tomato & burrata. The atmosphere is very quaint and cute. It is a small place. However, it has outside seating also.
