This place is about as old-school as they come, I'm told. The food is very good, and comes with the bread separately so you can choose how much butter or pork fat you want. Overall, one of the better Danish lunch restaurants I've tried.

I enjoyed a scrumptious traditional danish julefrokost (Christmas buffet). The interior was nicely decorated and really reflected the long-standing service of this relatively small restaurant. The staff was very friendly and accommodated our large party without problems. The buffet was divided into two parts, the first with different types of herrings and complementary toppings to be eaten with lard or butter on danish rye bread. The second and main platter included a variety of delicious danish recipes, from the fried plaice to the chicken salad, pork tenderloin in mushroom sauce, salmon, hand-peeled shrimp, glazed ham with a stunning salad and the roast pork with crispy top. The atmosphere was festive and relaxed. Really recommended. Almost impossible to get a seat without reservation.

➡️ Really genuine and very tasty Smørrebrød restaurant 👍 I would really say thank you to the kind waiter who was fixing a table for us, even if the restaurant was full. Highly recommended 👌 👍

Traditional danish food. Smørbrød. Aquavit. Great steak tartar. They are usually fully booked. Reservations are highly recommended.

Very nice atmosphere and charming staff, the food was excellent-so was the beer and the schnaps too. This will be my frokost-place every time I'm in Copenhagen.

Yelp
This is a classic old time Copenhagen cafe. I was told about this place by a colleague who likes it here and, I am glad to have received the tip. Four of us came here for dinner and enjoyed it. It's a Cafe that has been operating here for well over a hundred years and, was originally opened in the late 1700's. The menu is traditional Danish comprising of smørebrød and a selection of warm dishes. They have a small selection of drinks and of course if you like, acquavit poured right from the moment your food arrives :-) We ordered a few things to share and I liked it all. Different selections of meats served on slices of Danish bread and topped with condiments and salad. I loved my pate and I loved the overall experience. The taste was also good. We had quite a cheeky waiter and he was very quick to serve and also making sarcastic jokes, very Danish apparently. It was not too busy and I am glad we came here. Prices were very reasonable and all in all a good experience. Would happily repeat.

Yelp
Best Danish Smørrebrød in town! Fresh and traditional. Everyone in our group loved it. Excellent service. Hidden gem near Strøget.

Yelp
Doesn't look like much but as soon as you walk in the wonderful smell of their food hits you. Traditional danish foods. Offered an English menu. The staff was so welcoming and accommodating. Their gluten free bread was amazing and they took extra precautions for cross contamination. It's very cozy great place to meet with old and new friends to catch up.

Yelp
i have not eaten here, i didn't drink aynthing here either. this cafe came highly recommended so we wanted to check it out. after sitting down outside, and then waiting for quite a long time without a waiter coming up to us. we inquired inside, and were rudely told that they don't serve food outside. i refused to explain the waiter the difference between eating and maybe jsut having a drink outside.so we went somewhere else.and there are a LOT of places around.
