Cafe Soriano

Just Like Grandma's Cafe Soriano's is absolutely incredible! 1/2 lb Penne with Vodka sauce 1/2 lb Rigatoni with Vodka sauce 1/2 lb Linguine with Marina sauce Side of Pork for 2 and 1 meatballs were so delicious. The pork melted in your mouth and the meatballs were great. The sauces are a favorite and the Portions are plentiful. There is a small percentage added on for take out, but it's all well worth it. They are also cash only.

Best breakfast in NEPA! Try the avocado toast special if they have it.

Very cool place food was good, service was good. Atmosphere super cool.

Service and food were very good. I had the special - raviolis with pink Alfredo sauce and lumped crab. It was divine. My husband had spaghetti with meat. He did not care for his because it is a very sweet red sauce. I'm sure he could have gotten something else that would have pleased him more, but he just didn't realize it was going to be so sweet. Overall, it's a lovely place.

Got some rigatoni, combo meat platter, and garden salad for take out. The portions are huge! The Soriano red sauce is my favorite red sauce on the planet. I try to order other sauces when there but always go with the red. I hear the vodka sauce is fantastic too! Some day, I'll give it a try! I love the garden salad as well. The spicy Thai Dressing is out of this world. It's spicy and sweet. Fantastic flavor with some heat but not overdone. The decor is funky and fun. The staff is friendly and attentive. Cash only.

Excellent omelette, interesting atmosphere. It felt like what a 50s diner must feel like for 90 year olds, but this was for 90s kids. Didn't appreciate the tip being added in automatically, it's not really a tip if it's compulsory.

The food was good but staff could be more warm and friendly. They seem to feel that the customer should be lucky that they were allowed in. I guess that is why the business has to add in a 20% tip or else customers probably would leave nothing for the way they were treated.

This place has fantastic tasting food! Both for dinner and breakfast I love coming here. Every time I visit the area, this is one my main stops. Their vodka pasta is delicious and I always buy their sauce while I'm there and bring it home with me to California. Their breakfast options are also great and you can tell it's all homemade. The restaurant has a cute little artsy vibe to it and can seat quite a few people. Parking is very easy and never have problems looking for somewhere to park. This is a cute local casual restaurant that's worth the stop. The staff are always so friendly and quick for service.

Wonderful family owned restaurant. Kind owners, friendly staff, and DELICIOUS food. If you have not tried their breakfast- you are missing out. Fresh ingredients consistently cooked to perfection. Their pasta night portions are huge and homemade sauces are to die for.. even got my jars of sauce on amazon to get my fix when they are not open! #saucesnob You will not find a better place to dine in or take out!

Our Mothers Day curbside take out was absolutely fantastic. Chicken fettuccini Alfredo was so creamy dreamy. My wife had penne vodka with shrimp and lump crap meat which has never disappointed. We so missed the atmosphere of dining here, but the service and the food is still right on top! Thanks for making Mother's Day as great as it could be in these goofy times. And if you haven't had pasta with vodka sauce here yet, you are missing out!

I'm from Texas and brunch is big around the area I'm from and I've been trying to find a good brunch place around this area. SARIANO's will now be my brunch spot! If you've ever been in Austin, Texas it will def give you an Austin's vibe! There's different art everywhere, the tables and chairs are all different def a hipster vibe. The food didn't disappoint, it was delicious!!! The service was great we got sat down right away and they took our orders within perfect time! We honestly waited about 15 mins and our food was out! Def a must if you're around the area and love brunch! Ohhh don't forget to take cash!! They don't accept cards!

We went on pasta night and the bowls were so huge. The food was excellent. The vodka sauce was a little sweet. The prices were very reasonable. Not a whole lot of selection on the menu for pasta night. Heavy on the carbs.

A hole in the wall with a pop of culture. Very comfortable setting, music and seating. This is a casual place and you may even fin yourself sitting on a pillow in the window. They are very unique & that is the main reason I would make another visit. As for the food, you get what you pay for. The bruschetta was soaked in balsamic. I got the red house sauce and I was truly disappointed in the taste and lack of flavor. A friend I went with got vodka sauce which was amazing! Recommend it!

BAD way to start my day! VERY rude woman owner AND my pancakes tasted like onions - disgusting !! Won't seat you until your ENTIRE party is there, even goes as far as far as kicking you outside until they're there, even after you've explained they're just parking the car and will be in in a second. Horribly rude, bad food, won't ever be back. PS.- AND only accepts cash!

I came to eat here during a Sunday evening. We had a reservation, and I also recommend doing this because it was quite busy during this time! The staff were very polite and attentive. The head waiter highly recommended the mixture of their vodka sauce and Alfredo sauce so I took this recommendation of course and it did not disappoint. I also recommend one of those sauces or this combination! The half portion of pasta (excluding their homemade option) is only $5 on Sundays and is still quite big! They give bread with beans before your food is served, and I also got a half salad with their Spicy Thai Peanut dressing that was quite big as well (also the best peanut dressing I've had). The inside of the restaurant has many fun, and quirky decorations that makes the appearance different than other places! Overall, this was a great dining experience and I will be returning!

Use to absolutely LOVE this place and ordered out at least once a week until today. Wait staff is amazing. Management was so ignorant its disgusting esp in the middle of a national emergency. Im so disappointed

Food is amazing (I only had breakfast but I'm sure all of it is great). Staff is very nice and friendly. If you're not sure what to eat for breakfast, I recommend the pancakes. Definitely coming back.

I used to like Soriano's, but not anymore...went for breakfast on a Sunday and the wait staff extremely rude, no smiles on any of their faces. Talked down to...Felt uncomfortable being there. They dont seem to like their jobs, but why take it out on the cutomers? Will not be returning and taking others with me.

Great environment, great food, fast service. The place feels more like Greenwich Village than Peckville. Staff is POORLY trained however. They shorted us $20 in change. When we pointed this out, the head server aggressively called us liars in front of the entire dining room and said "I can't just give you money out of the register". When they find the $20 extra when cashing out tonight... maybe they will do some good and donate it to charity. Unfortunately this was our last visit. We will miss the food, but not the poor customer service!

BEST. EVER. We come here regularly for pasta. Not only is it amazing tasting, it's also super affordable! Staff is awesome and really take time to get to know their customers. I live out of the area and make sure to take a trip to Soriano's Everytime I come home!

While driving from North Jersey to Niagara Falls, my husband and I were famished and looking for a great brunch spot. I pulled up my yelp app and it lead us here... never would have ever found this place or stopped otherwise! After reading the other reviews, we stopped at the bank next door and got some cash first. Being in such a small town, we were a little scared (sorry we are used to NYC!). However, once we walked through the door- smelled the delicious breakfast aromas, saw the funky eclectic decor, and were immediately greeted by a friendly server, we knew we had found a "diamond in the rough." We both ordered coffee & waters to start. I was impressed by the large coffee mugs, lol. We asked our server for suggestions and he said to definitely make sure you order something with either the hot or sweet sausage, as it is made there. I ordered a sausage, egg and cheese on a bagel with a side of potatoes (I think they called them home fries? not sure). The sausage did not disappoint! I think they make the bagels there or source them locally, they were awesome! My husband ordered eggs, sausage, and potatoes and he enjoyed his meal as well. He got the sweet sausage, I got the spicy. The spicy was not that spicy. Both were equally tickling to our taste buds. Grand total: ~$14!!!!! I might add that neither of us finished our meals and were very full! Oh and they gave us coffees to go! If I am ever in the area again, this will be the first place I stop!

Soriano's Cafe is a place that I have been going for quite some time. I used to go for breakfast with some of my friends; you can get kielbasi as a side. The stuffed french toast with sweet cream is unbeatable!! The fella that runs the place is a good guy and always has nice thing to say when you go in. His staff is fast and courteous. Thats the breakfast side. The dinners I there are only Two. On Wednesday nights, they have past night. This is no joke pasta, fantastic!! You can order either a half a pound or a whole pound. Come HUNGRY!! Make sure you try the brushetta. Fantastic!! They have pasta night on Sunday night as well, the catch for Sunday; Half price!! Its great!!. The other dinner that happens there is called Flavor, its on Thursday night and it is tapas, all appetizers! Dont miss this either, I have been multiple times and this really gives you a chance to try some different things and have some different styles of food!! In closing I will say that this place is my absolute FAVORITE place to eat locally. It is BYOB, there is a small charge for this, but worth it. I can honestly say that I have NEVER had a bad meal or bad service at Soriano's. One thing NOT to forget, you need a reservation!! This is critical!! It is a eccentric little spot with great eye candy everywhere!! I highly recomend Soriano's to anyone that is looking for some good eats for great prices!!!

Have since been back to Soriano's twice, even though I tried to go back like four different times and they were always closed. The place loses a star for the following reasons: Business hours are not regular and are a bit sporadic. (This was the week before and two weeks after July 4th holiday) One time I had dinner and there was an extremely loud obnoxious party of women there and they were so Loud and acting a fool it ruined the experience. Others in the dining area were looking and it seemed like everyone was disgusted at the party's behavior. Loud piercing yelling laughing and playing of games- it was idiotic behavior to do in a restaurant. Note to owners - for parties like that it's best to isolate them in another room to prevent other diners from having a bad experience. Went there another time for breakfast - the breakfast was excellent and gets 5 stars for the food and service. However, there is a problem with the vents in the restaurant and there is a very strong odor because something is clearly not functioning properly. I noticed it the first time and shook it off. I noticed it the second time and it bothered me more after I left (like the lingering smell on my clothes). Third time the lingering smell on my clothes actually made me gag. Also after breakfast we went to get gas around the corner at cousins convenient and when we walked in the guy at the counter asked what the smell was and said it smells like cooking oil and asked if we had just come from breakfast...! I would say fix that exhaust / vent problem ASAP because that should not happen and that smell alone will prevent me from returning - and the food is good, service is good, it would be a sin to have something so easily fixable creating a bad experience.

I have been to Sorianos twice for pasta night. The first time the food was good and service was great (I got a crab and penne special). The second time I went, my server was AWFUL, refused to give us takeout containers after our meal, and told us that the kitchen was out of pasta sauce for our pasta. I was appalled. IT WAS PASTA NIGHT AT 8 PM. I like that it's BYOB but I will not go back because of the service and mediocre food of my last visit. No sauce ?? REALLY ?? It was obvious that she was lazy and did not want any extra work for herself. Good job, girl. You got yourself a lousy tip.

I've only had their food when they've catered some events at my work, I've never been in the restaurant. Their food is great! They make a mac and cheese that is absolutely the best mac and cheese in the world. My 2 star review is because of their employees (maybe manager). I called in probably about a year ago (Just found their yelp page now), to see if the mac and cheese was on their restaurant menu. It was not, so I asked if I could order it as a catering dish. The girl who answered the phone was baffled that I knew about the mac and cheese and asked where I heard about it. After telling her I have had it at my work and really enjoy it, she said it wasn't possible for them to make and not to ask again about it. She made it felt like I was asking for drugs or something like my question was really out of line. Not sure why they can make it sometimes and not others. Oh well.

Best pasta around. Hands down! I love it here so much! Everything is homemade, and the prices are super-reasonable for what you get, which is a LOT. Gorgeous inside! I wish they had pasta on Saturday nights, or longer hours. I love this place so much! You should visit. Make a reservation, if you can. Cash only and BYOB.

Hesitated about going inside this little store front shop. So glad we went in! This cute, quaint, charming and cash only place is awesome! Bring a big appetite ! Byob and if possible make a reservation. You will love this place!

This Cafe is a Hidden Gem. Food Portions were enormous, they give you enough for 2 extra meals. The food is priced well and the service was great. You will visit again and again once you tried their food. This was my first time there and I will be back to eat again.

Pros --- Very good food, generous portions at a fair price. Pasta night is awesome. You can bring your own bottle of wine and the portion is so huge that the 1/2-portion is enough for two people. The atmosphere is casual and the building's interior is eclectic. The service is never pushy nor are they lazy. Cons --- The hours of operation are confusing. The Vodka sauce is a bit too sweet for my tastes. But my number one complaint is the gnats. I'm not talking about 2 or 3 annoying bugs, but LOTS of them flying all over the place. The owner needs to invest in a can of Raid.

Wow! We love sorianos but toinight I was devastated. We paid 97.52 for a pan of eggplant risotto and a pan of pasta. We were supposed to get 12 and we received 11. I am so aggravated cause we love the place but I feel as though we were screwed!!

Food is great, the waitstaff/owner is something to be desired. She needs to work on her people skills other than that I would recommend their lunches and pasta nights.

Absolutely wonderful food! Went on Pasta Night, had the special homemade ravioli in pink sauce with crab. The ravioli were exceptional--al dente & fresh. The sauce! OMG the sauce! Creamy,a hint of sweet, the perfect accompaniment to the pasta and huge lumps of crab. My companion had a half portion of spaghetti & meatballs and the portion was still huge enough to have to take some home. I've lived most of my life in Peckville and just discovered this little jewel. Weird hours or not, I WILL be back.

Their homemade pasta is amazing their original red sauce is a bit sweet but yet is very good.. it's BYOB so save you a lot of money. Place is very unique and cozy inside. Their meatballs are delicious!

people in this area have NO idea what real Italian food is. I mean, this place along with the crap pizza place across the street are the absolute worst places around. People think that they are good because they are close by. The sauce is like right out of the can. The meatballs are dog-food like in consistency. No flavor and very little room to actually eat. If you think this is good you have no idea what good food tastes like. OMG never go again

As the others said, awesome atmosphere - comfortable seating, art all over, great music (chili peppers when we walked in then a bunch of other 90's alternative). Coffee was good (and refilled often), food was great, too, with fresh veggies in my omelette. They seem to boast their fresh/homemade breakfast meats but I'm a vegetarian so I can't speak to them. $30 for two of us (my boyfriend is a bodybuilder and got two full breakfasts). We left saying, "this is def on our come-back-to-soon list" (and we live 45 minutes away)

Former regulars here. We went last night for pasta night, having made a reservation for 4, 7:00pm. My oldest child had a headache, so wanted us to bring her takeout. Our now party of 3 met the hostess/owner/waitress at the door, and my husband gave our name and said we were 3 instead of 4. Her response was quite off-putting and rude, "Next time call and let me know". Now, at this point there was no smile or warm greeting, just "Do you have a reservation?" We eat out a lot, and a big reason we stopped coming here is this woman. She should not work the front of the house or be the face of the restaurant, as her demeanor is often harsh, and she runs hot and cold. Three stars because the food is always delicious, and our waitress Olivia was excellent.

First time in since the renovation. Have to say I love the colors, lighting , tables etc. Unfortunately, didn't stay. Hubby and I waited over 5 minutes before we were even acknowledged. Seems like place was run by teenagers. Person asked me how many, I said two and asked how long a wait. Person didn't know but was willing to ask? I saw at least 2 empty tables which needed to be bussed. Please put a grown up in the front

Just moved to the area and everyone who asked where I moved to immediately told me " You have to try Soriano's" - we stopped in for breakfast. Loved the vibe and eclectic decor. Breakfast was excellent and fresh. We can't wait to try their pasta night that everyone raves about.

My dinner was great, since they have very large portions I took my pasta home, and I asked for extra sauce for my pasta. The lady said "ok" and when I got home there was no extra sauce.

Not sure why it took me so long to visit this place, because it deserves a spot on my heavy rotation list. "Pasta night" is a twice-weekly phenomenon in which a gargantuan heap of your choice of pasta (as I recall about half of the pastas are made in-house) paired with your choice of amazing sauce. Don't forget to add an order of mixed meats. As incredible as pasta night is, my favorite aspect of Café Soriano is called Flavor (only on Thursdays) when only small plates (appetizers) are offered - approximately 20 of them. Two of us visited and shared four of the selections: Moroccan Party Salad (a must try); Lumpia (think spring roll, but bigger and better); Eggplant Risotto (divine) and ribs with a "citrus lager chipotle BBQ sauce" (very good). On another occasion, we sampled four of the selections that we had eliminated during our first visit: Miniature Cheeseburgers, Thai Lettuce Wraps, Crabcakes, and another that escapes me. These were very good, but the first three mentioned above were definitely home-runs. The dining area is funky and relaxed, kind of like a very casual version of Patsel's, and the music selection is very much mixed. Café Soriano is BYOB and there is a small per-person based charge for doing so.

On a Sunday morning (the two other local breakfast places were closed due to a water main break), we walked in to chaos. However, despite how busy and hectic it was when we first walked in, the staff was extremely friendly. Once we were seated, we were quickly given our coffees (delicious!) and had our orders taken. Been looking for a place like this for a while! I used to live 15 minutes outside of Philadelphia and was able to go to a handful of great breakfast/brunch spots any day of the week. Living in Scranton I have found nothing that compared. After looking on yelp I decided to try Soriano's café. Both my husband and myself were very pleased once we walked into the funky décor - it reminded us both of one of our favorite brunch spots in Philly. Service was great and the menu had a wide selection of omelets (which is what we were in the mood for). I ordered the los cabos (sans ham) and my husband ordered something with their homemade sausage - he hasn't stopped talking about it for three days. Home fries were cooked perfectly - not soggy like some places. We both enjoyed our meals and will 100% be going back. I am interested in trying out their Flavor night based on other reviews, once I do I will check back in =) Btw, their shirts read "Eat it..." on the front and "That's what she said" on the back. This cracked me up!!! I need to find out if they sell them.... FYI - CASH ONLY!!

Was looking for somewhere to go for a cheap dinner while visiting the grandma.... So I turned to yelp... Half price pasta on Sunday? Sounds fantastic!! Upon entering Soriano's we were greeted by the most adorable eclectic restaurant I've seen in a while! When the hostess asked if we had a reservation I got nervous we wouldn't get a seat, but when I told her no, she offered us a seat on the "couch." So we of course went and sat on the living room couch, in the little living room off the dining area....adorable!! After a few minutes a table was ready for us. I thought maybe the $5 deal was old as there was nothing posted, but then our server came by and said all pastas in the general pasta section are $5 for a half order! You can select a pasta, and then a sauce...but beware when the menu says half or whole they mean a half or whole POUND of pasta! You could feed an army with our meal! We had the Soriano's red over bow tie, white clam over linguini, vodka over spaghetti and butter garlic over angel hair. I realize quickly not only is is cheap, it's pretty awesome tasting too. I gushed about it for at least a week to anyone who would listen. A real gem.

Brunch at this cash-only gem is to die for. Stuffed french toast and cheese covered breakfast potatoes had me rolling out the door, unwilling to move for the rest of the day. The decor is interesting and it's very tiny, but I'd be more likely to use the word 'cozy' in describing it. I'm told I need to return for their pasta night. I'll certainly be back.

This place is incredible . The menu is limited but awsome . You will not go away hungry and the gravy is really good . This is a must stop . You will not be sorry .

One of my favorites. I only have it four stars because they don't take credit cards and they have weird hours. Most nights they only serve pasta. You can order a half or full order. Order the half you will still take some home. Order the full if you want to eat it for the next two days. The decor is strange but don't let it throw you off. Thursday nights they have "flavor night". They serve smaller dishes and have a great variety. It's kind of tapas style! The food is delicious! The service is great!! They recommend reservations. It's also BYOB!

Every time I have dined here it's beyond my expectations for quality and service. The prices are a bit higher but well worth it.

We stopped in for dinner on a Sunday. You should call ahead because the place fills up quick and rightly so. The 5 dollar sunday special of the pasta dish which consists of 1/2 lb of your choice of pasta and any combination of their homemade sauces is plenty for dinner and lunch the next day. We enjoyed the bruschetta for starters which was also delicious. The homemade cheese raviolis were amazing. This hidden gem, in the heart of Peckville, is worth the trip.
