Recently visited this bar for the first time and had a very bad experience. I didn’t know how the place operates, but apparently women sit with customers and encourage them to buy beers for them — which are charged at 3-4x the price apparently. Two women, Yainely and Katherine, asked to sit with me. I agreed and bought a few rounds of beers over the course of a couple of hours. When I asked for my bill, they never provided any receipts and simply told me the total was $725. They even admitted they “forgot to keep track” of what was ordered and guessed how many beers we had. Based on what I ordered, there is absolutely no way the bill should have exceeded $200. When I questioned it, I was told I had no choice but to pay, and that there would be problems if I didn’t. I felt pressured and uncomfortable so I paid and left. Afterward, I heard from others that this is a common scam here — that the women ban together to overcharge customers. Be very careful, or better yet, stay away from this place entirely.

There are certain fundamentals a customer expects from restaurants. One is cleanliness. How do you suppose the people working in the kitchen stay sanitary when there isn’t even soap in the bathroom? Transparency in pricing. I ordered something listed on the menu for $11.00 and when the check came it was $15.00. When I inquired about it the “manager” (supposedly) said prices are subject to change at any time. It escapes them to make the price clear before the customer orders while thinking it’s the price listed on the menu. I had to ask for a water refill 3 times. There was no attentiveness and the server really made it seem like she couldn’t care less whether we were well tended to or not. My suspicion is that the servers are there for an entirely different purpose. What that purpose may be I’ll leave to your own discretion once you see how they interact with “regulars”. This establishment is a scam and if you’re brave enough to still check this place out just make sure you guarantee the price before you order the food. This place is awful. Wish I could give zero stars.

During a lunch break I stopped in for a quick coffee and ended up pleasantly surprised by much more than I expected. What I thought would be just a caffeine run turned into a full-on discovery—the menu was packed with food options I didn’t even know they offered. The breakfast selection was impressive, and even better, the prices were extremely reasonable. I got a solid meal for under $10, which is rare to find these days without sacrificing quality. The service was also a standout—friendly, fast, and attentive, which makes a huge difference when you’re squeezing in a quick stop before work or on a busy morning. And that coffee? It wasn’t just good—it was a work of art. Smooth, rich flavor with that barista touch that shows they take pride in what they serve. I wasn’t sure if I should drink it or admire it. I’ll definitely be coming back, especially to try the lunch menu next time. Great spot for good food, good coffee, and great service.

I recently visited this bar and had an amazing experience! The atmosphere was perfect, great music (not too loud), and a welcoming crowd. Whether you're looking for a chill night out or a fun place with friends, this bar nails it.

Yelp
I drive by Café Taberna every morning on my way to the post office and see them setting up their outdoor tent. Decided to come by with the family for Sunday breakfast. They did not disappoint! The pancakes were fluffy, the croquetas were flakey and everything was delicious and affordable. The service was excellent and the outdoor tent with two huge fans and spacious seating was Covid compliant, breezy and comfortable. Looking for a weekend breakfast spot? You found it in Café Taberna.

Yelp
Me sentí incómodo y manipulado. Es mejor mantenerse alejado de este lugar, especialmente por prácticas y comportamientos como estos por parte de su personal.

Yelp
This place is really not good at all. I do not give crappy reviews unless a place is overly deserving of it. This place stepped up to the plate and knocked the ball out of the park!! Service is absolutely BRUTAL and it took 1 hour to get food when no one was in the restaurant eating!! My ropa vieja was even prepared in a buffet station 10 feet away! I could see it! Felt like we were hassling them to eat at their restaurant!!!! Some little kids were banging on a drum set on a stage while thier father sat and drank- it was incredibly loud and annoying. Shame on you Taberna :( I'll never come back even if they offer free food or paid me. I met my friend for lunch here on her lunch break (her suggestion) and in 1 HOUR ALL WE HAD WERE DRINKS! (Was 1 pm on a Friday, and one other diner in the restaurant, one of the 3 servers boyfriends who she sat down with at the table next to us). We got a little irate and asked for our food TO GO at the ONE HOUR mark and it was out in 5 min. Like they didn't want us to dine there?!? Avoid his place like the plague unless you like average Cuban food and slow terrible service!!

Yelp
Went for early lunch. Asked for a croqueta to taste before actual meal. It never arrived. Food was terrible. Pork was dry with no mojo, shrimp enchilada was made with marinara sauce. Looks like it later becomes a pretty fun adult hangout place with pool table, bar, big screen, tambores, microphones, and...a stripper pole. But, if you're looking for a meal, this is not the place.

Yelp
I just had a coffee but the staff was very pleasant and welcoming. the location is convenient with plenty of parking but is an in industrial area part of town so traffic can be tricky. I would definitely like to come back and try out some of the food on the menu.
