This place is the definition of a hidden gem! We stumbled upon it looking for drinks but the food was an amazing bonus! Staff were so kind and welcoming. Atmosphere was cozy and chill! Very unique spot and so so glad we found it! Would highly recommend 😍

The cocktails are excellent, the food is delicious, but the service is what really makes this place stand out. The staff make you feel right at home and turn it into one of the best bars in Mexico City. It doesn’t matter what language you speak or where you’re from—you’ll feel welcome here. — Andy was truly wonderful.

This was a surprise. We came following a recommendation for the drinks - which was well-founded, but the food was not expected. Glorious tacos. The pollo, for me, was fantastic. Really flavoursome and well balanced. My husband had one of the Al pastor tacos. He’s difficult to please with food; a bit of a snob really, but he raved about it. We finished with a mezcal/coffee drink which was recommended by the staff after we told them what we liked. They paid attention because it was one of the best drinks I’ve had in Mexico. And I don’t say that lightly. I highly recommend this place for not just the food and drinks, but the atmosphere and service as well. For the ladies - toilets are clean and simpatico.

Killer spot, don’t sleep on it. Amazing tacos and nachos, great cocktails and big beer menu. Friendly staff, English speaking friendly and the playlist was awesome. Will be back and you should be too

Do yourself a favor and visit Cafe Tacobar—a hidden gem that effortlessly blends exceptional drinks, authentic tacos, and unforgettable hospitality. We arrived around 3 PM (highly recommended for a relaxed vibe), and dove straight into an impressive lineup of cocktails. The star of the show was undoubtedly the Salmoncito, a brilliant concoction featuring Condesa local gin that perfectly balances botanical freshness with a subtle kick. But what truly sets this place apart is the adventurous spirit behind the bar. Our bartender was none other than the owner himself, Chris, whose infectious laughter and witty banter had us chuckling so much I’m convinced I earned a new wrinkle that day. Chris is a true maestro of mixology, introducing us to flavors and spirits we never knew existed: from the mysterious Mexico root (if you know, you know), to pulque distilled, peaty whisky in a mezcal drink, sotol, Raicia, and Bacanora. I was furiously jotting notes just to keep up! As if our experience wasn’t already special enough, Chris is about to be featured in Tales of the Coctales in New Orleans, Louisiana, just two weeks from now. The photographer’s presence added a hilarious twist—capturing the funniest moments and genuine joy that radiates from this place. Tacos That Speak for Themselves No visit to Cafe Tacobar would be complete without trying their tacos. We savored two unforgettable varieties: chilorio (a rich, savory pork taco) and chayote (a delicate, squash-like vegetable taco). Both were bursting with authentic flavors that perfectly complemented the drinks. Why Cafe Tacobar is a Must-Visit Whether you’re a local or a gringo, a seasoned traveler or a curious foodie, Cafe Tacobar is the perfect spot for a memorable afternoon or evening. The combination of expertly crafted drinks, mouthwatering tacos, and the warm, hilarious presence of Chris makes this more than just a bar—it’s an experience.

We had a great experience here. The drinks were phenomenal, I particularly loved the Paloma. The servers were so nice and helpful! And the bar is gorgeous. Great place for a date. The tacos were very good but not outstanding. Overall though, I’d recommend to anyone!

Google
Here for a week. Came three times. Couldn’t love it more. The staff has been amazing. The drinks have been top notch and you come back for the tacos. Ask for Shelia and Eddy. You’ll feel like family.

Yelp
An old family favorite. I had to stop by on my last visit to CDMX. It was a fun place to hang out with my parents, enjoy some appetizers and great tequila drinks. Great service, great food, beautiful historical building.

Yelp
This place may become worse as tourists become aware and take over of this gem. However, when I went, everything hit a very pleasant note. The tacos themselves are definitely up there in terms of best in the city regardless of which one you get. The drinks are also fairly well made. The bartender knows what he's doing and how to cater to his crowd in terms of engagement and adjusting drinks as needed. I don't know what previous reviewer had personally dealt with, but the staff was very friendly and attentive. At the same time, they knew when to just leave us to our food and drinks and just take in everything. We went there for 1 drink and split a taco, ended up having multiple drinks and 4 of their tacos.

Yelp
I almost don't want to leave a review for y'all bc this place is already tiny to be fitting hella tourists. Alas, all was delicious. Bartender crushed it with the drinks, my favorite was the salmoncito aka baby salmon LOL. Def a neighborhood vibe and elite tourists

Yelp
When we were there the owner turned up at our table super drunk (or maybe on coke or ice) and started to harass us. He hovered over the table with the sustained eye contact bullies and drunks do - asking weird questions and even picking up our water glasses and throwing it across the table at plants. Thinking we would find him hilarious or something while we just felt more and more unsafe. Avoid this place like the plague.

Yelp
I loved the people I met in this bar - it was mostly bar tenders and industry people - the bartender was great and suggested many drinks I hadn't tried - a small cool hole in the wall kind of place to have fun conversations!
