Lovely and spacious place right by one of the canals near to the market. Great atmosphere and we were well looked after by the staff. We had a few things to share, some of the food looked amazing. We will have to come back soon to try some of it!

An absolutely lovely place. I stopped by for a quick hour of wifi and work. The wifi speed was excellent and the environment was breezy and beautiful. The server who served me was such a kind and lovely person. I ordered a mint tea and guess what, they get you a cup of real fresh mint leaves (I was expecting a tea bag). The cookie was also really tasty. I sat in the terrace area and the vibe was absolutely amazing. The view right by the canaal watching boats of happy people floating by. I'd so come again for a brunch sometime.

We sat outside on the long benches and watched the world go by. The omelettes were delicious. Friendly service. Some blankets wound gave really made the experience even better.

Absolutely lovely place, not the prettiest bit of waterway, but the restaurant more than makes up for it. Great service and even better food. Can’t recommend enough. I had the cheese sandwich, my partner had the goats cheese. Both were great

Tucked away by one of Amsterdam’s charming canals, Café Tisfris offers a refreshing escape from the city’s more tourist-heavy spots. We stopped by for a relaxed lunch on a sunny afternoon and couldn’t have been more pleased with the experience. We sat outside to make the most of the weather, and the quiet, scenic location made for a perfect backdrop. The atmosphere is laid-back and local, with friendly service and a relaxed vibe that made us feel right at home. For food, I had the mango and chicken salad, which was fresh, light, and packed with flavor. My friend ordered the open goat cheese sandwich, which came beautifully presented and was full of rich, creamy flavor. My partner went for the Serrano ham and burrata open sandwich – a definite favorite – while another friend enjoyed the pulled chicken open sandwich, which was hearty and satisfying. We had a couple of beers, water, and a Coke to go with our meal. Everything was well-balanced and just what we needed. The total bill came to around €110 for four people, which felt very fair given the quality of the food and the setting. All in all, Café Tisfris is a great find – perfect if you’re looking for a peaceful spot with great food, friendly service, and a more local feel. We’ll definitely be back.

Quite disappointing breakfast. We ordered two eggs Benedict with bacon and the hollandaise sauce seemed non existent. Also the bacon and eggs were cold by the time it got to us. Other than that. The bread and coffee was nice

Yelp
Third time here and this was our least favourite time. We were greeted by a nice guy who Brought us our food pretty quickly but the food was meh worthy. I used to go gaga over the avocado quinoa salad that time I didn't want to finish it, there was barely any quinoa and dressing. My friends salad was supposed to have goat cheese but it didn't. My other friends chicken teriyaki sandwich was flavourless and very dry. To top things off we were watching a video on our phone from the night before maybe 5 seconds and there was music playing not even loud. The lady beside us started yelling telling us off, 0 manners I explained we were tourist leaving today and just looking over a video she told us she came here all the time and she didn't care. My friend told her how rude she was and her husband didn't say a word. She turned her body away from us as if we were garbage. Such a rude woman.

Yelp
Great place to people watch on the square while you wait for your lunch to arrive. Lots of windows. We had the soup of the day which was a spicy chicken soup. I loved the veggie burger which was black bean and on a wonderful bread. Service at lunch seemed a bit slow but there are plenty of servers so maybe it's the kitchen. You can sit upstairs or on the main floor or on the downstairs level. Close to the Rembrandt House Museum....

Yelp
Very solid place for breakfast. I came on a Sunday morning, and the place wasn't busy at all. I had the Dutch pancakes, a side of scrambled eggs, a cappuccino, and a black coffee. The food was good. Service was very fast and attentive, much better than I experienced at other places in Amsterdam. The coffee comes from one of those machines, so the cappuccino was weak and too milky, but the coffee was good. I'd definitely go back if I were in the area, but I'm not sure it's worth going out of your way for, since the menu was very standard breakfast fare.

Yelp
When I'm in other countries, I walk around for hours...like 6 - 7 hours, straight. So I need sustenance and coffee, as soon as I step out the door. In Amsterdam, cafes on bridges, are aplenty...so I try to hit up as many as I can. This place was perfect. The waitress was holy hot, tall and blonde. nuff said. The croissant was fluffy and buttery. The patrons were beautiful (including me). The coffee was strong and deeelish. The views of the canal and the cathedral were on-point.

Yelp
They don't take credit cards!!! Very inconvenient. They also don't provide napkins at the table. Their cappuccino is the most expensive I've had in the city and the smallest in size. Their honey packages are impossible to open with your hands. Their healthy tea was surprisingly good with real ginger and turmeric in it so this place gets an extra star for it.

Yelp
We stopped in here by chance today, peeking at the menu as we walked past. It caught our attention because the offerings weren't what you would expect of what (from the outside) would appear to be more of a tourist spot. Both the sandwiches that we had were really far better than we would have expected for the price and location. I had the ham, brie and caramelized onion and my girlfriend had the turkey and jalapeño panini; both were really great. The salad and sandwich selection was interesting enough that it had us plotting out when we could eat there again before we'd even finished our meal. I think it's fair to say that after a month of exploring it was probably the best sandwich i've had in Amsterdam. We'll be back again.

Yelp
So the place was nice and the atmosphere was relaxing. You can choose to seat inside or outside, it being 40 degrees out though, we choose a nice corner table. The menu was large and offered everything an American would like and they had a few specials to boot. We choose two burgers and waited. Food came out hot but and looked good. Somethings you should know; THEY DO NOT TAKE AMERICAN CERIDT CARDS! If you have a European card you should be fine, but all Americans will not be accepted. The young lady said it was on the menu but I don't remember seeing it. One would think they would tell you before hand. Other then that, if I am here again, I would come back.

Yelp
I was sightseeing alone for one day and found myself at this cafe. It was a good location (a great view of the reefer coffeehouse) and a perfect place and time for me to stop. I had a beer that was recommended by the server - Grolsch Weizen. It was out of my comfort zone but I enjoyed the beer. I also ordered a tomato mozzarella pesto on ciabatta. It was all the right ingredients and they were tasty but it was nothing to write home or note here. I often wonder if you took a place out of its tourist-y location, if it would work anywhere else - this was how I felt about this place.

We went for breakfast. Cute little cafe. Good food. Hanging out for awhile was nice. Delicious fresh juices

Yelp
Super-centrally located as we found ourselves passing this place multiple times wandering thru Amsterdam after we first ate here. Great food, fresh and fantastically blended flavors. Really nice selection of beers, too. Take a seat at the counter along the window and take advantage of some people watching! Great spot to watch the interplay between bicycles zipping by and cars somehow not managing to hit them (or any pedestrians.)

Yelp
A great place for breakfast. High quality food, reasonably priced, pleasant service, and with a nice canal side dining area. I had a ham and cheese tosti and my companions had croissants and crepes. All were excellent. Seeing Dutch people eating here is is reassuring that it isn't a tourist trap.

Yelp
Really bad service. Staff basically made me feel like I was a chore. They were super nice to a European family next to me. I'm an Indian woman.

Yelp
Amazing fresh juices- orange, apple, carrot, ginger. Pumpkin, feta, prosciutto sandwich was very yummy. Good view of a canal.

Yelp
Mostly standard cafe fare, but great feel and people watching. The goat cheese and beet sandwich was worth going back for.

Yelp
Good lunch place with interesting sandwiches, and nice drinks. But I keep coming back because of the relaxed atmosphere. This is a place where you can sit, read the news, and people watch over a long lunch.
