Tucked away by one of Amsterdam’s charming canals, Café Tisfris offers a refreshing escape from the city’s more tourist-heavy spots. We stopped by for a relaxed lunch on a sunny afternoon and couldn’t have been more pleased with the experience.
We sat outside to make the most of the weather, and the quiet, scenic location made for a perfect backdrop. The atmosphere is laid-back and local, with friendly service and a relaxed vibe that made us feel right at home.
For food, I had the mango and chicken salad, which was fresh, light, and packed with flavor. My friend ordered the open goat cheese sandwich, which came beautifully presented and was full of rich, creamy flavor. My partner went for the Serrano ham and burrata open sandwich – a definite favorite – while another friend enjoyed the pulled chicken open sandwich, which was hearty and satisfying.
We had a couple of beers, water, and a Coke to go with our meal. Everything was well-balanced and just what we needed. The total bill came to around €110 for four people, which felt very fair given the quality of the food and the setting.
All in all, Café Tisfris is a great find – perfect if you’re looking for a peaceful spot with great food, friendly service, and a more local feel. We’ll definitely be back.
