We went to their renowned fondue restaurant and it lived up to the hype! Every dish was delicious, from the cheese to the bread, potatoes and even the attentive waiter.

Definitely one of the best restaurants in French-speaking Switzerland to eat fondue. Their fondue is one of the creamiest I have ever tasted, so kudos to the chef! HOWEVER, the staff really need to be more polite to their customers and treat them with respect. Without this rude attitude, my review would have been a five-star.

Loved that Café Tivoli was my first proper Swiss Cheese Fondue experience! We made a reservation here for a well deserved lunch after our hike! The interior and exterior decor felt cosy and welcoming, with the wooden accents making it feel like you were dining in a friend’s home. Plus it felt authentically Swiss! We were 30mins early so we decide to have a beer at the alfresco seating are before heading indoors for lunch. My friend who brought us here is a local who grew up here and swears by place having the best and most authentic fondue. And there and then, the expectation was set and the bar was high and after the first bite, I was blown away! We ordered the following: LA « PRESQUE MOITIE-MOITIE » 1/3 famous Gruyère AOP, 2/3 creamy Vacherin fribourgeois AOP, white wine and pepper The set up was proper, the cheese fondue came in a caqualon over a warmer to keep the cheese heated. The smooth texture of the cheese fondue paired so well with the crunch of the baby potatoes and without a doubt, bread. The way to dip it in and stir so that you can wrap up a good amount cheese around your potato or bread! Tip from my Swiss friend: Do not drink water once you’ve started on your cheese fondue as it will cause the cheese to coagulate in your stomach causing indigestion! Good news is that, wine is perfectly fine!

VERY disappointing "almost" moitié-moitié fondue - the first bad fondue in all of over 45 years visiting the Tivoli. We had to send it back: quite watery, too salty, not tasting like a traditional fondue. It was returned a bit better but probably with a lot of added Maizena. The waiter excused the staff but not even a coffee was offered. Will no longer go there as there are excellent alternatives down the road in the town.

Eating here is a real treat; the Fondue is out of this world. Start with Moitie Moitie if you are not a Fondue pro; then head to the Vacherin; a dream! Book a table ahead, if you can.

Positive: Nice, clean, large room. Comfortable bed. Clean modern bathroom. Very nice restaurant with local specialties and good value for the price. Friendly staff. I had a good quiet stay and look forward to coming again.. Negative: There is no elevator and the hotel rooms are in the third floor, so you have to carry your luggage up the stairs. – We had agreed on breakfast at 7:15 AM, but at that time the door to the breakfast room was closed and nobody was to be seen (apart from some other guests also waiting for breakfast), so I went to the nearby bakery to get breakfast (I had a business appointment and couldn't lose time). Later the hotel receptionist told me that she was in the basement to get the bread for breakfast. – There is no closet/wardrobe in the room, just a few hooks on the wall and two hangers which were not suitable for pants. – The hotel room door locks/keys are like for rooms within an apartment or house, i.e. they're not very burglar-safe (well, Switzerland is a safe place but nonetheless...)..

Didn’t stay at the hotel but came for fondue, which was wonderful. Staff was attentive. Left very full.

Really beautiful dining room space, you can see swiss countryside representations carved in wood, while having one of the best fondues we ve ever had, we will be back.
