Just grabbed an ice latte today, which was in a Saturday morning. There ice latte was perfect and really good for such hot weather today (max temperature will soon reach 35°C in this afternoon). It's my first time visiting this Cafe. It's almost fully occupied for outdoor sittings. The atmosphere of outdoor sittings was very relaxed and cozy. Street parking is just next to the Cafe so it's convenient to visit by car. I will definitely visit again with my friends or family for a big breakfast and of course their good coffee too.

Nestled in the heart of Adelaide, this cozy cafe is an absolute gem for any food enthusiast or coffee aficionado. As you step inside, you're embraced by warm, earthy tones and inviting natural light streaming in through the glass walls, offering a connection to the bustling street views outside. Now, let's talk about the food - it's an absolute delight! The subtle kick of chili adds just the right amount of flavor and warmth, never overwhelming the palate. For those craving a hearty and nutritious meal, the flower power option is an excellent choice, especially for plant-based eaters. And let's not forget the vegan croissant, filled with decadent vegan cream that elevates it to the best in town. And the coffee? Pure perfection. Considered by many as the best in Adelaide, every sip is a journey of flavor and quality. The atmosphere is simply delightful, making every visit a memorable experience. If you're not a coffee fan, fear not - there's a variety of beverages available, from fresh juices to cold brew coffee and even pale ale on tap. Plus, the attention to detail, like the thoughtfully selected tableware that enhances the overall experience, sets this cafe apart. Whether you're looking for a relaxing brunch spot or a top-notch coffee destination, this cafe comes highly recommended. So, why wait? Treat yourself to an unforgettable culinary experience at this charming Adelaide cafe - you won't be disappointed! Alex

Great atmosphere - you can tell all the live and care that went into everyday detail with the place. The coffee was great and The food looked really yummy!

I’ve been twice to this cozy little place and now is my favourite for a brunch in Adelaide so far.. the coffee here is really good and they offer delicious and good size of food portions. I really recommend the green waffle and the kangaroo pastrami bagel. Great job guys!

Google
Definitely one of a few good breakfast cafes in Adelaide! Love to try other dishes on the menu, will be back soon. Highly recommend.

Google
Our first stop in Adelaide - cozy cafe with warm earthy tone, the glass walls connect you with the street views with natural light. The food were delicious. Chilli egg was rich, creamy, with the added texture and zanginess of the thinly sliced cabbage and carrot. The chilli adds flavour and warmth without overpowering. The flower power was hearty, flavourful and nutritious, perfect if you’re looking for something planted based as well. The vegan croissant has vegan cream in it and was the best vegan croissant I tried so far.

Google
The place is really cute, around the corner, we were sitting outside, and we love the spot. We always wanted to visit this place and finally we can make it. I think they made their own bakery, so many bakery display there. The customer service was quick, but the food a bit pricey for the waffle. Unfortunately $26 for 1 pcs of waffle. The taste 7.5/10 but we love the juice. Sooo fresh. The place like really beautiful

Came for breakfast and coffee on a Monday morning. The aesthetic is great and staff seem friendly, but unfortunately had quite the tragic breakfast. For something as simple as bacon and eggs we were quite sad that it was of poor quality. A poached egg with a scrambled texture and bread made of stone was confusing. Coffee was not enjoyable at all, probably have to refine the recipe or at least stick to it. In a cost of living crisis, won’t be back to risk money here again

Yelp
Great little trendy cafe. Small but cosy and intimate. Coffee and food are amazing. Seating inside is a bit limited but plenty on street seating. May need to be prepared to wait as it's very popular Had bfast here on a Saturday morning just after opening and it was busy. Very worthwhile if u have to wait. Service is friendly and welcoming and prompt.

Yelp
I used to come here regularly with a friend after Bikram on Saturday mornings so was excited some old workmates suggested it while I was in town. We snagged a seat outside on the warm winters day which was also a bonus - basically every seat in the place was nearly full. The menu is small for lunch, selection of salads, sandwiches etc and sourcing local ingredients. I was tossing up between a salad and the soup and by recommendation of the friendly girl behind the counter I chose the roast carrot and freekah salad. The food arrived fairly quickly, one ordered the hearty vegetable soup and another the roast pumpkin stack. I was really disappointed in my salad - it had no dressing or any flavours whatsoever. The freekah was bland, the salad greens were bitter and the carrot was just covered in fennel seeds. I added a tonne of salt and pepper but it didn't do much. My friend with the soup also had to add a large amount of salt to try and bring some flavour out. Apparently the pumpkin stack was good - the goats cheese look good on that. Overall I think it's not bad for breakfast but lunch might be a miss. Plenty more amazing spots closer to the market that might be more worth a visit

Yelp
I can't believe I have not reviewed Café Troppo yet! I have to say, every time I have dined in this lovely café, I have left with a smile. The food, coffee and service are always good. Actually, the staff could not be any nicer. They obviously love their jobs. The set out is just so damn cool. You will find a eclectic mix of wood, flowers, pots, bits and peices. Very earthy and is really visually appealing. Especially when they open the front sliding doors to open the area up with a view of Whitmore Square. The menu is really hard. I struggle every time with trying to choose what to order. It is all so good! Seasonal too, so it changes. You can not go wrong with any of the salads, they are bright, beautiful, healthy and earthy. Full of goodness and things that make you feel like you made the right choice for your body. For my last visit, I had the chili eggs for brekkie. I actually said to the staff I had trouble choosing but settled on this dish and I was told I made the right choice. In fact, one of the girls said they always get jealous when someone orders the chili eggs. I can now see why! So tasty! Scrambled eggs with herbs, slices of fresh chili and seasoning cooked through, red cabbage slaw, two slices of sourdough and a smear of housemade aioli. So much to love on one plate! The coffee is very good here as well. Do keep an eye out on their facebook , they have now started to open late with music and drinks. Nice for afternoon knock offs on Friday til 10pm and Sat til 9pm. I am always looking forward to show off this café to friends. So, looking forward to my next visit!

Yelp
Decided to try this place out with a colleague visiting from interstate. We were both pleasantly surprised and liked the feeling of the cafe. The food looked good but we only had coffee. The coffee was good and a decent size. The atmosphere is eclectic and funky and is convenient as in quieter part of city with easy parking around. There is indoor and outdoor seating with low and high tables.

Yelp
Although this place doesn't quite have the heat or the customers that would "go troppo maaaate," it certainly is a quirky little cafe come bar come pixie forest that is a perfect place to sit and relax, meet, work or devour breakfasts in. Cafe Troppo is one of the first cafe's I have been in Adelaide that is quirky, not because it looks like it has come out of the 60's. Here the experience is as much about the feeling of being immersed in a magical underground (but not), cosy woodland forest as it is the food and drink. The designers of this place have used natural wooden chairs, crates, sticks and anything environmentally friendly to create a beautiful dining ambience and this is what made this place 4 stars for me. The breakfasts are something of a feast to take you through to dinner and their sweets lined up on the bar in front of you as you order are just mean - because you can't resist! The coffee was a bit standard (I don't think they use bonsoy) but I was too engrossed by surroundings to really care! I am looking forward to one of their tapas nights here and their summer dinner menu that is apparently coming soon (in Summer funnily enough). This place would be truly Midsummer Night's Dream kind of heavenly as the sun sets over the city on a warm summers night.

Yelp
Absolutely love the quirky style and chilled atmosphere. The music creates a cosy and relaxed vibe (and I won't forget to add - recently live music began to play Friday and Saturday nights). The food was delicious, fresh and bought locally to support local businesses. The staff are friendly, helpful and are obviously socially conscious. I don't have any complaints over then it could be a little bigger to fit more customers. Other then that, amazing cafe!

Nikita L.

Yelp
Such a cute cafe: I have been here a few times as I live local and I absolutely love the vibe! Really good poached eggs and I'm in love with the Orange Earl Gray Iced Tea!!! 100% recommend.

Matthew B.

Yelp
Stopped in for a Saturday brunch and this place was awesome. As soon as you enter, you know it's going to be good. The staff were extremely were friendly, and the decor looks great. It feels warm and friendly, and smells delicious. We ended up getting a breaky pizza and mushroom focaccia. Although I can't give you a first hand description of the focaccia as my lady friend destroyed it, the breaky pizza was the bomb jiggy funk. Bacon, rocket, red sauce, perfect base and topped with a poached egg. I am pretty sure I licked the plate clean! Also, the coffee was sooo good, not to be overlooked! Two thumbs up!

Carla S.

Yelp
Finally got the chance to come back and give this place another go, wasn't disappointed! I ordered the special of the day which was a delicious parsnip and barley salad with a smattering of spinach; large portion and great flavors! My partner in crime got to try the roo sandwich which was delicious and worth the wait. Small nuances like forgetting our order and the bathrooms both being mysteriously unused but locked were a bit of a pain but the food made up for it. Coffees were great and loved the stevia drops, that's a first! The outside area is gorgeous and had outdoor heaters which will be a godsend in winter. The staff are so lovely, definetly a nice spot in town to get away from the hustle and bustle.

Krish M.

Yelp
Came here for breakfast with family on Australia Day! So nice to see that they were open! The Chili eggs and the Peach Lassi were really good. We also got the Gardeners bowl and Dukkah eggs which were equally good. Service was prompt and good. This cafe is in near a nice neighbor Hood park not too far from CBD! Would highly recommend it.

Bethany H.

Yelp
Visited here today for the most beautiful lunch in the sun. Staff were friendly and the service was quick, despite it being busy. I had the pumpkin and haloumi burger and an iced mocha and they were both delicious. The burger was particularly fresh! The food and the cafe itself is presented well. Worth the short stroll down to Whitmore square!

Louise S.

Yelp
Best coffee I've had for a while, great service and yummy biscuits. Even Ollie or dog got a treat. Great place

Yelp
We returned to Cafe Troppo this morning, our last visit was in 2014. The Cafe is still as popular as our last visit. The menus are very good and varied to cater for most tastes. The seating options are comfortable, with outside tables on the footpath. The service was friendly and efficient. I must admit on our last visit we thought the coffee was excellent, but today the coffee was right up there with the best. If we lived closer this would become our Cafe of choice. Must return more often when in this area.

Yelp
Pleasant as a breakfast and brunch spot with a hipster feel. Poached eggs were excellent, runny yolk and a clean white. Good quality eggs too - free range and taste like it, with that rich yolk flavour. Bacon was a little greasy (which is normal for bacon) but didn't need to be drizzled with oil. Not a fan of the bamboo straw for a shake - it gives a distinctly weird mouth feel (though I'm sure someone else might love the quirkiness). Coffee was good - not bitter - and the Barossa breakfast tea is a strong hangover puncher if you're feeling a little fragile. Service was good and the location is very pleasant.

Sammi J.

Yelp
This funky place was packed for Brekky early Saturday morning. (Short wait for a table) The service (order at the counter) was friendly and prompt. The coffee was great and the perfectly poached eggs with grilled mushies was delish. It was a FREEZING cold morning but the Troppo staff had lovingly lit up a number of gas heaters in the outdoor area out front which managed to take the chill off. Whitmore square is an interesting place filled with some interesting (but harmless) characters so it's probably not the best place to take any snooty friends or family. Love the organic decor feel. Plenty of ticketed street parking too.

Hazel W.

Yelp
This place is local and really good food. I had the Bon Hiner. A bowl of fresh greens roasted seasonal veggies topped with a soft poached egg crumbled organic feta and fresh herbs. Simply amazing! The flat white was perfect and you could not get a better meal than here. The music is so good the atmosphere and decoration just make you want to hang here if your staying at the Rydges this place is close and far better food

Melanie W.

Yelp
My partner and I met a friend at cafe troppo today for brunch. I ordered the harvest bowl and my partner the waffles. We were both very underwhelmed. The harvest bowl at $15 was so stingy. It contained a few roast veggies and some greens with an egg, in a very shallow bowl! I was so hungry afterwards I went to the markets and bought some more food. Both the waffles and the fruit that accompanied them were very bland! With a plethora of delightful breakfast joints in the area, we will definitely not be coming back.

Gurpreet S.

Yelp
Buzzing and busy every time. Tucked away on the corner of whitmore square It oozes organic/healthy cafe. Can get quite loud inside but there's plenty of seating outside - great for groups and quieter spots for two as well. Only had a fresh orange juice which was superb - will update once I've had food.

Yelp
All the reviews are saying 'quirky', 'hipster' and 'cool', etc. For me, Cafe Troppo is *too* self-consciously cool for my liking. Trying too hard, and not quite making the grade. For me, the atmosphere wasn't particular friendly - most of the customers looked and dressed the same, staff were too 'cool' to smile. It had an over-riding blandness about it. Soundtrack was a recent Cure remixed release - mainstream trying to pretend it's alternative. Nope, try again kids (hint: if you like the Cure and want to make an impression, their old stuff is cooler than their new stuff - all the hipsters know that! :P) All this blah-ness aside, my long black was OK, and my almond and citrus cake was delicious (and rather large for the $5 pricetag). So that was a definite plus. So was the fact that they have crammed in as many tables, chairs and stools as they possibly could. All in all, this is more a 'place to be seen' than an actual destination ... and to be honest, really cool people don't care about that sort of stuff! :P

Natasha S.

Yelp
Cafe Troppo is not in my end of town, which means it's taken me quite a while to actually get here. Far too long in my opinion, because I've been lusting after it ever since I heard it has trees growing on the ceiling (okay... that's maybe not exactly true). I do have a bit of an affinity with branch laden ceilings, ever since teenager me fell in love with the Lounge on Swanston Street in Melbourne. And there is something very cool about the indoor outdoor feel Cafe Troppo has going on. I ordered a coffee (which I'm slowly learning to drink without 3 sugars), an orange juice, and a kangaroo and fennel sausage roll. Everyone was friendly and chatty, and service was quick. It was a hot day, so I sat inside, but with all the doors wide open I could have easily been in a nice shady spot outside. The cafe is the furthest from stuffy that it's possible to be. It's the type of place that made me feel like being Vegetarian (although my inner meat eater won with the kangaroo sausage roll), growing a vegetable garden, and dancing in the woods. I'm a fan.

Adie M.

Yelp
There's much about this place I adore. I love the close connection with the building it occupies (award-winning Adelaide architecture), particularly noting that the exposed pipework criss-crossing the ceiling are découpaged with drawings and application documents relating to the design. Cute. It gives me hope that maybe, just maybe, there'll one day be enough jobs here to employ the incredible architectural talent that Adelaide produces each year. I love that these guys will trade coffees for home-grown produce. Bring in some lemons, or a bunch of your fresh herbs. I love the comfortable way the café occupies the space. There are bunches of fresh veggies, herbs, boxes of produce, all the things which will go into the food. And there are posters up for events, and information about local festivals and council surveys/programs - there's an obvious emphasis on fostering community connections and engagement. I love the food and the coffee - both times I've been here it's been very well made, with beautiful fresh ingredients, but not so fancy that it's intimidating. The meals are friendly, and portion sizes are perfect. And with enough greens! I did get the impression that to a certain extent customers are seen as an inconvenience. That may well be the case - it feels like the place to "be seen". Yes clientele of Café Troppo, I'm judging your geometrically interesting outfits and shoes. And your triangular jewellery. The downside of the staff possibly feeling a bit jaded from dealing with, y'know, people, is that said people end up feeling not all that welcome. This makes me wonder how long the atmosphere will remain pleasant, and it kinda worries me. Café Troppo is indeed a beacon of awesomeness in a corner of town that sorely needs it, and the passion behind it makes it a drawcard in itself - I'd certainly go out of my way to buy coffee or breakfast there if I know I'm welcome. But I don't know that. All I'm feeling is that old Adelaide social anxiety vibe. So turn up the friendly, guys, yeah? You've nothing to lose, and you'll all have stacks more fun at work. We're all pulling for you. And good luck getting that small venue licence - it's a great idea.

Carola B.

Yelp
Pro-tip: Bring in a bag of fruits or a bag of something they can use in the store, and trade for a free coffee! Ask staff about this! Warning: Do not attempt to sneak in and steal a vacant seat a head of the cue without greeting the staff - there is often people semi-sitting or standing elsewhere waiting for a table to be free - and its awkward if you are then kindly being asked to move (not from experience, but from observation!). Warning: avoid black pants - especially if sitting on sackcloth causes you to collect particles of sackcloth on said black pants! Facts: quirky, quaint, cosy, energetic, cool cafe. Its location means it can be quite moody-dark inside in the mornings, but in summer, the cool factor of that dimly lit place is exactly what you want. There's vine covered outdoor areas, cellar-feeling inside areas - with bar seats, small seats, and backless lounges to choose from. Great ranges of pastries, nibbles, juices, bubbly drinks and of course, excellent coffee. There is a great flow of people who work here, and you will love the time you get to spend there. Just, keep an eye out for the ever growing groups of people loitering around looking at you, wondering if you are leaving soon!

Paul G.

Yelp
I've had my eye on Cafe Troppo since it was a construction site. I've always had a good feeling about the place, even if only because of the building it is a part of--one of the jewels in the Adelaide City Council's eco-crown. Having said all that, it's taken me until now to check it out--even though I peddle past it a few times a week. What gives, hey? Popped in for breakfast on the weekend and give it a 17/20. Service - A little slow with the coffees. But it was worth the wait. Didn't get my order quite right. 2.5/5. Decor - What a cool, cool, cool place. The chairs are made from recycled hessian bags--well that's the illusion they cast--and man they're comfy. The rest of the place looks to have been partially fitted out with recycled materials--again, this could be an illusion. It has a really rockin' vibe. Very rustic; tremendously welcoming. The sort of place you want to kick back in and watch the afternoon pass you by. That aside, the place lends to a perception of fullness. This is one of the reasons I hadn't stopped by sooner: it always looks busy and chockers. It is a small, busy place, so no doubt gets full quickly. However, I reckon it is worth the wait. We were lucky to get a table straight away. 4.5/5. Coffee - The best in Adelaide? If not, it would have to be close. They use Australian's Own Organic soy milk which is a fine milk. I really like the buttery, slightly oily flavour it has. (Bad description? Trust me, it's good!) 5/5. Food - As mentioned earlier, they didn't quite get my meal right. I asked for "something vegan; no avocado". It arrived with two wedges of avo on the side. Argh, I hate the stuff! No matter, I could brush it aside and devour the rest. And devour I did. A thick slice of sour dough lightly drizzled with a good olive oil. Topped with slices of sweet, summer tomato; sautéed mushrooms--which were seasoned impeccably;--bit o' spinach for greenery and a smear of pesto on the side--great for dipping and uniting everything. I have yearned so long to have a hot breakfast like this at a cafe. Mostly, the meal is missing a touch of love. Just a little somethin' somethin' to turn toast, tomato, spinach and 'shrooms into something a little bit interesting. Troppo did it. I tilt my hat. 5/5. ** An aside: the prices. I expected it to be a little on the pricey side. How wrong I was. Breakfasts float between $9-14. How's that? ++++ VEGAN FRIENDLINESS -- They know what "vegan" means and they know how to cater for 'em. I reckon vegans are in good hands, for breakfast, lunch and dinner here. (Still to try lunch 'n' dinner: I'll report back.) They use Australia's Own Organic soy milk which is a decent soy; sometimes better than Bonsoy if prepared skilfully.

Yelp
Its been two years since i was at Troppos, and i used to love this place. I went there expecting the variety i had enjoyed in the past. For me the Saturday menu was extremely limited and i struggled to find something between my wife and i that was different than the dish my wife picked, the breakfast pizza, begrudgingly we ordered the harvest bowl. Yes the food, coffee, and service was all nice. The size of the harvest bowl for the cost, for me, cannot be justified. I would recommend the owner head to Argos in Norwood to see what they offer in salads and veg bowls they are almost non comparable in size such is the difference, at a cheaper price!!

Rebecca C.

Yelp
Dropped into this great little spot on my way home from the Central Markets to find a tightly packed, buzzing cafe with a great atmosphere (they were playing Fleetwood Mac, what can I say?) and staff greeting me with a big smile. Coming at the entirely wrong time for a table, I found a seat on the bench facing all the staff (and the cakes, bad idea for my diet!) and had a delicious creamy flat white and chatted away to the staff. I have to say that the coffee here is spot on, the temperature is perfect and I indulged myself in quite a few here. Before I knew it I found myself eating a superb apple cake which the barista assured me was baked by his Mum that morning. I can't say too much about the meals here except that I watched the diners with mild envy as their breakfasts came out. An excellent addition to the Adelaide cafe scene, I can't wait to come back here at a time when I can get a table! The cafe is on the small side, the inside seems to seat about 20 people or so, so I would advise coming here early in the day to really try it out, or just drop in for an excellent coffee.

Susie C.

Yelp
Loved Cafe Troppo. Great ambiance, attracting a weird mix of Womadians, Hipsters and the Gray mafia of suits and ladies-who-lunch. The coffee was very good. The mint iced tea was awesome and the prices were reasonable. My Guy and bf Lisa both had poachies, which were tasty. I broke my cardinal rule of protein-rich breakfast by going for the croissant with blue cheese and fig jam. Also tasty, but not, strictly speaking a croissant. More like a slightly sweet crescent shaped bread roll. We kicked on with a dessert of Sfogliatelle, which was, how can I put this? Perfect. I didn't ask but I think it may have been a From Scratch product. Bottom line, go to this little oasis on Whitmore Square!

Matt N.

Yelp
Cafe Troppo has a very hipster-ish vibe going on in the decor and the food on offer, which adds to the experience a great deal. I've only been the one time, and had a prosciutto pizza with freshly squeezed orange juice - both were exceptional. The pizza base is light and chewy and, with just the right amount of topping, it was delicious. I tried one of their lime and coconut dessert bars on my way out, which was a nice and slightly sweet and tangy way to finish lunch. Their menu seems to change reasonably often, which makes this ideal for popping back in now and again to see what else they have on offer. Seems ideal for brunch or lunch when you're in the area!

Carmen A.

Yelp
First breakfast living in Adelaide and this place did not disappoint! Sardines on crusty bread was divine! My husband had an omelet and he enjoyed it very much. Defiantly coming back here again and it's so close to our townhouse they have Gluten free bread also

Scott M.

Yelp
I was expecting a great coffee on a second visit and was disappointed to find soy lumps in my cappuccino. Not really a huge deal but it burst my bubble a little. They have De Groot coffee which I'm a big fan of. They had just switched over to their East Timor beans which I had just had on a visit to Espresso Royale (the front of house for De Groots roasting operation). It was great when I had it there but I was disappointed with what I got from the same beans at Troppo. I ordered a sandwich that cost $9.90 (why not just call it an even $10?) and the beetroot had soaked through the hummus and through part of the bread. Otherwise it was ok.. I'll be back. Still enjoy the vibe of the place. Lumpy soy happens...

Abel C.

Yelp
Love chilling out here... the tunes, the coffee and the atmosphere... and what a great location looking out onto the open space of the square... The food smelt good and the pizzas loooked great, I have yet to try it out though. But if you wanna chill out for a drink here on a weekend afternoon, definitely a great place to come

Max T.

Yelp
One visit I was directed to the lunch menu because breakfast was over, then upon ordering I was told by the same staff member that the lunch menu wasn't ready yet. When I selected a croissant from the counter, it took 45 minutes to get to me, and the cafe wasn't half-full. Unfortunately this experience has proven to be the norm over my 5 or so visits to Troppo. The service is so slow and vaguely unhelpful that I can't even remember my food or coffee. The fact that it's so close to my house makes it all the more disappointing, but I'll just walk on.

Penny G.

Yelp
Best hot chocolate in Adelaide so far . Right temperature amount of chocolate and consistency and the breakfasts are petty good too

Kelsey H.

Yelp
Holy hipster, this place is aesthetically pleasing. A beautiful garden outside, wooden interiors; a gorgeous grungey/natural vibe (yep, totally a thing). We sat outside in the sunshine and it was just so damn pleasant. The service was really good - super friendly and quick. The food was amazing and had some interesting options - something all regular breakfast-goers appreciate, I'm sure. I had the "Fancy Green Toast" which included asparagus, local haloumi, toasted almonds, and spinach on sourdough; incredibly tasty! Unfortunately, I'm not quite on board with the coffee they served that morning - my almond milk latte was not great (it's my fault - I assumed the milk would have been the newest froth-friendly version, but it was just plain old almond milk and so it separated), so I followed up with a soy latte afterwards which was just alright. All in all though, I'm incredibly happy with our dining experience! The price was right, the place was gorgeous, and the food was tasty. We'd just arrived from our 6am flight and this could not have been a better Welcome Home to Adelaide.

Glen R.

Yelp
Ive been meaning to get to this place for a long while having seen the constant crowds on a weekend morning. Finally found the time and was not disappointed. I had the waffles which were great but also tried some bacon which was amazing. The coffee is very good but does not quite compete with the best of Adelaide but I've very keen to get back an try their single origin espresso (Colombian at the time I think) I can honestly say this is one of the most relaxing places to eat with great decor, from the rustic style fit out right down to the pipe work in the ceiling covered with what looks like old building plans and the old bucket as a bathroom sink. I didn't get a chance to try out the pastries on the counter as I was so stuffed from my breakfast but will be back again to try them out as soon as I can A must try for anyone in Adelaide or visitors staying in the city!

Georgia G.

Yelp
This lovely cafe is situated on leafy Whitmore Square in one of the quieter corners of Adelaide's city, but definitely well worth a visit for a coffee or meal. It is a great place to ride your bike to and sit outside in the sun to enjoy the park across the road. They serve a delicious and wholesome menu with quality local ingredients. Their coffee is divine. They seem to be particularly busy on the weekends with everyone wanting long and relaxed breakfasts. Staff are a bit alternative which is cool. The fit-out is very modern and earthy and like my friend from Melbourne said "I wish there were more cool cafe's in Adelaide like this!. I do too!

Alicia N.

Yelp
I have enjoyed the fantastic and unique atmosphere at cafe troppo on a number of occasions and after seeing the delicious looking breakfast options walk past me on my most recent visit, I can't wait to come back again! As others have noted, the cafe is often packed on weekend and it also has a totally unique and cool style - so I won't go too much into that. Very reasonably priced - fantastic value for money, with super friendly staff, this place is certainly worth checking out!

Yelp
Let me describe the perfect Friday morning catch up: * Delicious and filling serve of poached eggs, bacon, pesto and greens on sourdough * Freshly squeezed jar of orange juice * Great customer service with smiles all round! * Gorgeous and spacious outdoor seating * Knowing we chose a spectacular place for brunch Enjoy!

Yelp
Friendly service and excellent whole food. Somewhat like Cranks in London in the old days! Good value for money, always fresh, always sumptuous and delectable. Creative combinations to delight the taste buds. Great to come away knowing you've been kind to your body. You can also buy ahead a coffee for someone who can't afford one and trade in eggs and veggies for cafe credits. Of course they give their end of day food to the Salvo's home nearby which is another good feeling. Comfortable rustic environment with ethical and conscientious staff. Why wouldn't you go there?!

Yelp
Great food and service. When you are able to tick all the boxes for service, food, atmosphere, prices and decor then that is rare but relished. Coffee +++++++ breakfast pizza just too good so i had to eat the lot! I will return!

Yelp
Ordered the little thing and bravo breakfast. Staff were awesome, lovely atmosphere! Food portions were very small. One piece of bread for each serve and for $17 a serve, we expected more. Flavour was lacking although the menu sounded appealing! Coffee was ok. Would come back if we were limited for options as we left still hungry.

Yelp
Great little cool casual cafe with a nice breakfast selection. I had the GF nut bread breakfast special and loved it! They have free wifi too and the music selection was cool. Highly recommend, go solo or with a friend.

Yelp
What a great place! Excellent service, we only had a couple of drinks while we waited for a cab so can't comment on everything. The drinks were great friendly fast service and loved the vibe of the place. I'll be back.

Yelp
I jump at any opportunity I get to visit this little cafe on the corner of Whitmore square and Sturt street, it's simply amazing. The vibe of the place is like no other in Adelaide, mark my words. Hessian chairs, chalk blackboards, and the place just seems to always smell so wonderful. I've eaten dinner here quite a few times when the cafe hosts live and unplugged music as organised by The Jam Room's Cafe Series and oh my have I been impressed! So I'm not vegetarian or vegan and have nothing against it but it's places like this that make me think why I really do eat animal products still. The persimmon, walnut and basil pizza I ordered the other night was simply flawless, like none other. You could literally feel the love and effort oozing out of each bite I took, simply delightful. I've only ordered coffee once, but it was definitely of a very high standard and although mentioned previously in another review that it took a bit long to make, it was oh so worth the wait indeed. I could quite easily lounge around here sipping cups of coffee on any day of the week, it just resonates that relaxed and care-free vibe. I'm already planning my next return, (not even kidding!)

Yelp
This place is awesome. I have been here at least a dozen of times, mainly for breakfast.. in fact all but one visits have been purely for breakie... those Waffles get me everytime! The staff at Cafe Troppo are pretty friendly and laid back with a groovy hipster vibe. Everyone is an individual and its awesome to see that embraced. Its a very eco friendly cafe which I love. Lots of miss matched cutlery and crockery with earthy interior. I've had majority of the Breakfast menu and its delish. My favourite is the breakie stack and waffles! They have realllllly good coffee and have a damn good barista on their machine too! Seatings pretty limited so get in early. Definitely give this cafe a try!

Yelp
Wow! I took my daughter here for breakfast after some friends told me I would love it. They weren't wrong, amazing decor, atmosphere. Trendy little nook, my favourite coffee and breakfast place since moving to Adelaide in March. You have to try the poachie, yum!!!

Yelp
Excellent chilled-out vibe and I love their lush garden. I had a beautiful brekkie this morning of avocado, poached eggs and amazing haloumi. Brilliant summer spot.

Yelp
Went to Cafe Troppo on a Saturday morning at 10am- quite busy which we expected so waited for a table. Ordered 3 meals and then waited on a couch fo r about 20 mins to get our table which was fine. Breakfast took at least another 35mins to come out. A good 55mins for food to come out. Choices on the menu were sparse and expensive- for what they were. I had the Egyptian eggs-two tiny poached eggs on one piece of toast. A friend ordered the museli which tasted like gingerbread- no fresh fruit but one big dried apricot on top?! Another friend ordered coconut porridge which I think was okay. Overall- average service and overpriced. Would not go again and would not recommened!
