We had a great time at a jazz evening concert. People could also stand up and do their own gig after the singers and band finished their concert. Prepare some cash because they will ask foe your contribution at the end. The drinks were ok but nothing special, stick to a pint of bear and enjoy the music. If you want real drinks or wine go rue de Saint Jacques for a wine tasting or wine bar.

Came here for bossa nova. Overpriced cocktails in a small and tight room. The area for the stage is really small and unless you get there early, you won’t be able to get a seat.

Google
Best jazz live music scene in Paris. We found this place because it was recommended in our guidebook. When we arrived the place was full of locals (most of them musicians) and the live music was amazing. At the end of the show, some of the locals seating at other tables and by the bar just got up and play song for everyone. They quite talented and it was such a treat! They are super friendly and serve good cocktails here. The only food option (not on the menu) are croque monsieur sandwiches, they are quite good. And the best part was when the bartender got up on stage and left everyone speechless when she started singing (what an amazing voice)!

One of my favorite places in Paris. Strongly recommended if you enjoy live jazz music. Good selection of wines, beers, and cocktails. There are dining options, although this isn't their strong suit.

I spent here a really nice Tuesday's evening. It's more like cafe than a bar, it's cozy and jazz concerts make great atmosphere.

Google
Friendly, jazz music, nice place for an evening within the week. You can get something to drink. I wouldn’t recommend the few things available to eat.

Yelp
Live jazz on a saturday night. Very good, intimate feel and relaxed. Definitely a neighborhood bar worth seeking if you want good jazz, good drinks, good people and good prices. Good mix of jazz versions of the american song book ("Can't take my eyes off you") in english, and French jazz standards ("C'est si bon"). And you haven't lived until you've heard "big wheels keep on turning" in French. Guys, this makes globalization worth it. Tourists welcome, although rare when i came. I was the only one. Someone in the audience came up and sang "hit the road jack" so well i'd buy it on iTunes. The house went crazy with applause. We all sang along to "La vie en rose". Call and response on scatting. Talent and fun all night long. Beers and wine were the same prices i've seen everywhere else (except along the Siene) for standard offerings (Affligem, recent vintage Bordeaux, big Rhones, etc). Not sure what other posters are talking about, i didn't see anything over 5 EUR for 12-14cl wines / 25cl beers. Actually that's pretty cheap for Paris. A great find i can't recommend enough!

Yelp
A cool very intimate jazz club good for a night out. They do not offer food and it's rather cramped quarters leaving one feeling slightly claustrophobic. The music was fantastic and we enjoyed it.

Yelp
Great Club for music. Terrible for overpriced beer. BUT they tell me that's how the musicians get paid, so what the hell.. it's like $10 for a glass of mucky wine but I gotta say again - the musicians are top class and the vibe is also pretty sweet!

Yelp
Great tiny club with a lot of heart, I saw the Soleil Vert Quartet awesome music, good vibes...

Yelp
Excellent intimate place, no frills just good music and drinks. There is no cover charge, we went on a Saturday night and got sit right the way. Great price on drinks, not a lot to eat. Just Local people, on a local cafe enjoying real jazz. Can't get better than that!

Yelp
A great little bar for jazz and other events. Awkward space, but intimate and friendly. Bad for groups- but if there are one or two of you- perfect!

Yelp
If you're tired of spending 30€ to sit in a little shitty row of chairs with a bunch of bobo ladies shooshing you for enjoying yourself to listen to to an hour of atonal artsy-fartsy theoretical jazz, and instead you would like to experiment with a cozy and reasonably priced bar that, by complete accident, has a tiny stage with talented no-name performers doing jazz that you can hum and tap your feet to on a barstool for f*ing free, well, then I recommend you try Café Universel. Jazz, in my opinion, was never meant to be an ordeal, a Jackson Pollock painting, or a quiet operatic spectacle... it was supposed to be this. It was supposed to be this.

Yelp
Intimate Jazz A tiny jazz club a bit off the beaten track but worth the trip for an ecletic mix of players. Intimate, you have the impression you are in the artist's front room. This place is not for smokers or those looking for a meal.

Yelp
