Café Welling - SilverKris

"A super-cozy, quintessentially Dutch brown café — the Netherlands’ answer to the British pub — that offers a classic Amsterdam borrel experience: an afluitje (a type of glass) of beer or a shot of jenever (Dutch gin) paired with cheese and ossenworst (raw beef sausage). The atmosphere is convivial and ideal for gathering with friends, and the venue also hosts regular live jazz gigs." - SilverKris

Lovely bar. We came here for a beer late in the evening as it is very close to our hotel and I must say: we discovered a real gem! Very authentic oldschool vibe, lovely bartender, recommended us some great beers and even offered us some water for a dog (which wasn’t ours lol, but point stands that it was very nice of him to ask). Definitely recommend!

A great little bar on the edge of town. A good range of drinks and a homely atmosphere. Seating inside and out makes it a great place for a drink after being to the theatre especially. Very welcoming staff who loved chatting about his alcoholic offerings. Great place with limited dining.

Went to Cafe Welling for a late night drink and to play cards on our last night in Amsterdam on holiday. This was a lovely little pub. Both the outside and inside have plenty of tables for sitting, and it feels like a real local spot. The bartender was very nice, and the prices were unbelievably affordable. Lovely, non-touristy spot for cheap drinks!

This is a place to visit if you want to meet original Amsterdam people, small place but that made the atmosphere memorable. Thank you for the stay, we will be back 👍🤓🥰

Loved this little place tucked into a cute little corner street. The ambiance was amazing and we tried the best beef and pork sausages here. The owner is very friendly and warm and for that reason we spent a lot of time there chatting and enjoying the beer. Would highly recommend it to everyone.

A brilliant brown bar tucked away behind the concert hall. Very cosy with friendly staff. A wide range of beers and v reasonable house wines.

Yelp
Came for the jazz. No jazz. No vibe, lots of potential, bartender not the friendliest. Careful when you open the door.

Yelp
Nice bar/cafe with a for-real old atmosphere. Not much changes here. Why should it? Great location in a beautiful neighborhood. Inside it's a bit of worn elegance. The customers where mostly older, (some elderly) enjoying conversion or just sitting & having a drink. Isn't that the essense of a great bar? Nothing trendy & not an ounce of pretense here. Every so often I appreciate a place like Cafe Welling.
