The waiter is not the waiter, we ARE!! We had to wait an eternity, and then we had to give up, patience has its limits. They didn't even seem to care, they just shouted at the kitchen, "order cancelled", as if it was so common that it didn't matter. It's a real shame because the place looked promising. Never again!

+ Fabulous food, + very friendly service, + great setting along Santa Teresa main artery! After having a bad experience at Bar do Mineiro in Santa Teresa I prepared myself for another unpleasant stay at the bar next door but finally was taught better. The service at Cafecito is awesome and though the waiters can speak English they give you time to order in Portuguese. They are attentive and have fun serving you. I got the feeling that this only happens in a few bar and restaurants in Lapa and Santa Teresa. From the local side totally understandable since many tourist are lacking a open minded behavior and recently started swamping the streets of these old neighborhoods destroying the locals’ escape areas in the bustling city. Anyways, Cafecito’s setting is lovely and above street level. The patio is entwined with ivy and fern and offers small lounge areas to relax and watch people. The food is super delicious, don’t miss on the artisan sandwiches. The bar includes freshly squeezed sucos (juices), beer, wine and refreshing caipirinhas with passion fruit. The average entrée is around Reais 20, the drinks vary from Reais 5 – 12. Visiting Santa Teresa with the bonde (small tram running vom Downtown over Lapa to the neighborhood) I highly recommend to have a break at Cafecito. Credit cards are accepted.

Looks nice, but service is always taking forever over here, just go here if you have more than enough time, otherwise just across the street the simple place is much faster and has got the best pão do queijo in rio. But this place has great sandwiches, cakes/sweets and coffee if you have enough pacience...

This place is great for three things mainly: ciabatta sandwich (ask for Campos de Carvalho, which is a combination of cheese, red onions and pepper jam), guava cheese cake and, after noon, pizza on the second floor. We loved the pizzeria at night as the lights and decoration provided a special ambiance for us as a couple.

Place is very cutely designed on multiple floors. Food and drinks are top quality. Service poor to average. Very slow and seemingly inattentive given that it's high end.

Simple but tasty breakfast with a really good cafe con leite. Nice service personal and beautiful, stylish building. 5 stars!

I know this place as one of the best in Rio. However, very disappointing that this location is closed (at least today and two days ago). No information on their website, nothing on the restaurant location....bad bad bad

One star for food quality, wine selection, service. Total sheit. The setting and building are nice, everything else is a an embarrassment. Look somewhere else.
