This Hidden Gem in Northern Italy Is Called 'Little Rome'

Summer Johnke

They snuck us in for dinner close to their closing time, which was nice. They let us try some yummy toasts with spreads to begin. Then we all got pasta (squid ink tortellini was incredible!) with such a nice white wine from Verona. Then we finished with a very nice tiramisu and sorbet. The waiters were also very friendly and accommodating

I have visited Cafe Monte Baldo every time I’m in Verona and it is a wonderful experience. The staff are very welcoming, the waiters take their time to explain the food and especially the wine. They are very knowledgable about the wines and the region they are from. The food is absolutely amazing and the atmosphere is superb. I cant recommend this restaurant enough. It is a hidden gem in Verona. The owner even comes over and speaks with you and is so friendly. A great family run business. My family loved the experience and without a doubt this is my favourite place to eat and drink in Italy. We will be back as always. Last visit - 18/02/25-23/02/25 Thank you so much for looking after us all the way from Scotland 🍷🥂🎉

You should know that they have changed the menu, therefore most of the photo shoots are not relevant and are no longer served here. The place is very nice and beautiful, excellent service! I ordered vegetable pasta, there were more vegetables than the pasta, a very small portion, I didn't like it. We ordered a glass of wine, it was like tasting a glass of wine, a very small amount.

We were drawn in by the large selection of canapes / cicchetti / tapas this place have to offer, however the main restaurant was absolutely an amazing find with great service, interesting menus, and excellent food overall! There are 2 parts within the place: for drinks and tapas, and the restaurant section which is separate. The restaurant however has the 10 pcs selection of canapes which is pretty much the same thing! Those in combination with other dishes exceeded my expectations. Selection of cheese and cold-cuts, and pork belly were particularly great as well!

in every travel, i allow myself a "splurge meal". i wanted to try an authentic risotto from verona, and this exceeded my expectations. it was filling and worth every bite! we also tried a wine they recommended and some antipasto since we arrived too early for lunch. they also did their best to speak to us in english so i would recommend this place.

A little gem of a place to eat in Verona - excellent food and service all round. The pasta and gnocchi dishes were some of the best I’ve ever eaten. So good I ate there 3 times over a 2 day visit to Verona.

Excellent food, the gnocchi and beef cheek was really really good. And the service provided by our waiter Maya was top class. She definitely deserve a raise :)
