"Classy Cappuccino in Piazza Santo Spirito This Santo Spirito classic has two main selling points: Daniele, the barrista, who makes one of the best cappuccinos this side of the river, and the comfortable back room, where you can sit down without having to pay extra. There’s also a wonderful terrace out front that looks onto the comings and goings in one of Florence’s most lively piazzas, but you have to pay to sit there. Ricchi is great for coffee and afternoon tea, but you can also eat lunch and dinner here, and their homemade ice cream isn't bad either."

I just had coffee and croissants at 7am. Loved the cappuccino and croissants! The staff is kind and friendly. Reasonable price. Strongly recommended! Enjoyed beautiful atmosphere in the morning with coffee

Google
I can't understand the many bad reviews! We were there for 2 days and it was very good. Pasta vongole very good with twice as many mussels as elsewhere in the area, pizza excellent. House wine more than drinkable. The staff were also all very nice. Yes, there is only one toilet, but this is also the case in other places. We were definitely satisfied.

Very memorable — for all the wrong reasons!!! Don’t be fooled by the charming outdoor patio set up. This place is terrible on all levels: food, service and honesty. Firstly, at the bottom of the menu, they say they charge a “2 euro cover charge per person for literally nothing. I’m betting that like us, most people would never notice this even after the bill comes. When I asked what it’s for the server got defense and said “when you order, you agree to get charged.” And speaking of ordering: We got a margarita pizza and the tagliatelle ragu. The pizza crust was dense. The pasta was cold. I asked for tap water, they gave me an open plastic bottle of “still” water that was clearly just tap, still charged us 4 euros for it. Do yourself a favor and go two doors down to Gustopanino, where the food is delicious and the service is top notch.

Stayed in the hotel next door so was given a coupon for a croissant and a coffee at the cafe. There are a few different croissants to choose from and they all seemed pretty standard. Ultimately it was a fine croissant. The coffee was also pretty standard. The square is nice to sit in in the morning, which was a plus, especially as we watched them preparing a sort of market. At night this area gets extremely busy.

Google
Dropped on this place while looking for somewhere to try a Florentine steak having not made a reservation for the evening. Situated in a vibrant square with outside seating, the host was kind and welcoming when explaining to us to how you go about ordering per 100 grams and to share. I normally like my steak medium to well (sorry!) so was a little apprehensive but they did a good job and we loved it having eaten far too much pasta and pizza on our trip to leave us much in need of something else. I later read of some not so positive reviews but we didn't find any problems at all. Very well priced compared to other restaurants serving Florentine steak as well. Ps - the tiramisu! 😍

Google
Amazingly fast service from Nico and Ali. The food was amazing and the staff was so sweet. I highly recommend the tiramisu.

Google
Tourist trap. Do not go there. Already opened (and gasless) sparkling water bottles. Pizza at 13€ on the menu but written at 18€ a piece on the bill. Pizza are way too average, if not low quality. My significant other took a milanaise scallop which was a sad excuse of a dish for 22€ , with overcooked fries. Do NOT go there.

Yelp
Incredible service, food, and location. We ate in a party of 20+ and the food came out straight away! Absolutely delicious with big servings. Nico and Ali were great servers, cant recommend more if you're in the area!

Yelp
Amazing food and great service! Nico and and Alli were so kind! We had a big group and they were very patient and helpful! Had a great time!

Yelp
Truly amazing pasta and moscato, in a great location (in a lovely little church courtyard with a fountain) with live tunes from traveling musicians. The staff keep it real--you aren't here to be flattered and babied, you're hear to have a memorable meal.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the pizza, it was amazing and cheap. The only reason that this review is not a 5 star is because Gusta Pizza is 3 doors down and a better option. Although Ristorant Ricchi was amazing and delicious, Gusta Pizza is too close to not go there instead.

Katlyn R.

Yelp
THIS IS THE BEST PLACE EVER AND A MUST SEE IF YOURE EVER IN THE AREA. Special thanks to Nico and Ali who served us!!! The vibe was perfect and eating here was greater than I could've dreamed, the food was immaculate and my only wish is that it could've lasted longer. Truly, PLEASE EAT HERE.

Alex H.

Yelp
The service was fine. The prosciutto we ordered as part of the Prosciutto and Melon course had mold on it. The grilled vegetables for some of the courses (burrata + grilled vegetables and the grilled vegetable pizza)were not seasoned. The food quality overall was not great, especially for the price we were charged.

Yelp
After getting ignored at a near by restaurant, we walked next door to Ricchi. We were sat and placed our drink orders immediately. We were just swinging by for an appetizer, as most places were still closed for siesta. There was a long list of cocktails, a lot of "American style" drinks, which was nice to see as I was starting to feel homesick. We ordered a Margarita pizza, it was the perfect size for an appetizer. If you were really hungry you could eat the whole thing by yourself, it's not very large. Tasty, thin crust, cooked to perfection. I enjoyed our visit and would definitely recommend trying it out!

Yelp
Found Richie while wandering around aimlessly. Fairly busy with what seemed like a lot of locals so we thought why not. Good decision. A variety of dishes for the four of us and all very good except for two things. The lasagna Bolognese and the Ricchissima Salad were so much more. The lasagna was the best I've ever had in a restaurant and the salad was just perfect for two people and 9 euros. The service is efficient and cordial but not overly fawning as some are as they mine for tips. I have read other reviews on this restaurant and I disagree with many of them. I will definitely return on my next trip to Florence.

Yelp
Food was mediocre. Service was abysmal. Avoid at all costs. Far too many restaurants in Florence where's you can get great service and great food. Avoid at all costs.

Yelp
Eh. That's about all. We ordered the melon prosciutto which was pretty good. I ordered the beef. The potatoes were the best of the meal. This place does some good potatoes. I requested my beef medium and it came out rare, so I requested it be cooked more. The meat itself was really really chewy. I didn't finish it just cause I felt like my jaw was getting a workout. The staff spoke little English, but ordering was fine for us. We sat outdoors and loved the people watching. Tip- if you pay be credit card you have to pay inside the restaurant. Just get up and go pay with the note the server leaves on your table with what you ordered. If you don't do this you might be sitting there forever.

Yelp
Enjoyed the baby octopus soup and the entrecôte beef with green peppers and roasted potatoes. It was delicious and reasonably priced. Could do with a little less with the salt. Good service and nice ambiance oits

Yelp
We had perhaps the best tasting pizza of our life here last week! It was prosciutto and porcini mushrooms on a very thin crust .Then, after walking around for some time, we couldn't resist coming back for dessert in their next door cafe. Oh, my- my- the cheesecake and tiramisu were amazing, and such large portions at very low prices. Will gladly come back during our next trip to Florence.

Yelp
We went here on a whim and probably the best restaurant experience i've been to in a while. Benne was our server and so sweet and nice. Best service ever!! The food was very good too I would highly highly recommend. This is my first review ever I just felt like it was needed.

Taylor D.

Yelp
Wouldn't recommend, got lasagne, pasta pomodoro and four cheese pizza, none of it was good, terrible tasting sauce and questionable meat. Service wasn't amazing either, some waiting a were kind, others who waited on us were not friendly.

Anthony P.

Yelp
Worst pizza i've ever eaten, Including frozen pizza. The meat was of questionable source and was quite gamey. The pie was soupy to the point that you needed a spoon to eat it. Im fairly certain they poured a can of tomato soup over a unleavened crust and then baked it until it was as dry and tasteless as Wolf Blitzer's beard. The cheese was minimal and the entire pizza tasted only of salt. Possibly the worst pie on the continent. If i could give it zero stars i would. Hard pass.

Yelp
We ate here the other day as a plan B option and the food was varying depending on what you ordered. So what I mean by that is the dish I ordered was cooked well, I had the sea bass it was fried in olive oil very crispy skin and and great flavor as far as fish goes. They could have definitely worked on presentation I was a little surprised to see the entire fish with the head and everything but since it tasted great that's all I will say about that. The fish did come with slice potatoes, cherry tomatoes and olives. Now where things get tricky, my husband went against his better judgment and ordered a pizza here and that was a huge mistake. The pizza was extremely floppy, the sauce was so watery you could take a fork and splash it around. He ordered a pizza with eggplant and sausage and it was also packed with Gorgonzola cheese which made it totally smelly and pungent. So I would suggest staying away from anything Pizza related here. Another interesting thing was they charged us 12 euro for 2 beers which was a little on the higher side for a simple draft beer since being here in Italy beer as been about the same price of a soda or bottled water at every other restaurant. Oh and the bread ‍ that was provided as the starter to the meal tasted like baked flour nothing like the baguettes I'm used to unfortunately.

Yelp
The restrooms are disgusting, the "latte" is really only coffee and milk, no effort for any latte art, even the cup it has been served into was dirty with old coffee stains, for 3.5€, you better should find Mac Donald's Caffe it would be better

Yelp
Great location, great food. We went there for lunch on a hot day, mostly for something easy and so we can enjoy drinks on the piazza. I had a gnocchi special which was great, and our daughter had pizza she liked. I wouldn't make this a destination restaurant but it will do in a pinch if you're in the area.

Yelp
This restaurant was the best out of all I tried in a 9 day trip to Florence. The service was great and the food was too. I ordered the sea bass, which came with some vegetables. It was perfectly cooked and everything was excellent. Chose this place because I was looking for something a bit off the normal tourist path. Our Airbnb host, who was a tour guide, recommended to try anything in the Spirito Santo area, for a more local experience. We were very happy with the experience and I definitely recommend this restaurant. The people there are very nice.

Yelp
When I studied in Italy I ate here almost everyday because we had free meals provided for us at this location. In not even a potato girl, but WOW their roasted potatoes are on the money! The pasta dishes are absolutely mouth watering. They have great "aperitivo" where basically you buy a drink and eat as much food as you want to which they have laid out for you. They offer this almost everywhere in Italy and its the best way to save $ while still trying different foods. Very cool atmosphere too!
google avatar

Riccardo S.

Yelp
Very big salads, delicious and very cheap price!!! The staff is very gentle and the location outside during the summer is perfect! Go for it!
google avatar

Madeleine T.

Yelp
Hidden away from the main drag, prices were still high and not worth the visit. The quality of the cappuccino (€3.50) and lemon gelato (€5.00) was pretty much on par with other places. Seating cover charge is €1 per person for light food and €1.50 per person for meals.

Yelp
During my recent vacation to Italy/Europe, I had the very best dish of my entire trip here at this restaurant. Papardelle with wild boar. If they have it, and you're a fan of savory dishes, you have to try it. It was life-changing. Their menu changes daily, so sadly I was not able to get it again the next day when we came back :(. But the other pasta dish that I tried (risotto) was also amazing! Definitely had a "home-cooked" feel to it, not a touristy place as it's a little ways away from the main part of the city.

Yelp
Rather slow to get served. Guitar and accordion serenade throughout lunch. Staff were not really engaging. Food was good.
google avatar

Grace P.

Yelp
Located near a large popular piazza. We wanted some legit pizza so we stopped by here but the bread they gave us was hard and stale, and the pizza was very mediocre :( They have outdoor seating, which is nice, and no free wifi.
google avatar

Yelp
Well made drinks, a lovely patio and great people watching on the piazza santo spirito.
google avatar

Christian H.

Yelp
Went here with a group of people on Wednesday and the older bald headed man behind the counter was extremely rude. He was yelling, rolling his eyes, & mocking us. Very unprofessional & we advised the rest of our group to say farrrrr away from this place. The reason I am giving two stars is because the owner (I'm guessing) came to apologize to us.
google avatar

Brett B.

Yelp
Sat here on a Sunday afternoon. Nice setting, but 5 euros for a soupy gelato. I would not recommend the gelato or water here. Espresso and people watching only. Setting is very tranquil. I asked Pablo. He said 1 star. Waiter was kind of obnoxious too.

Bob C.

Yelp
Great food. Very happy with our selection. Alex was our waiter and did a great job One of the best meals we had in Florence
google avatar

Karen F.

Yelp
Three stars is generous and is given solely because of the very pleasant waiters. Our food was awful. The spinach with the osso buco was tasteless, the tuna steak over salted with a bland, tasteless sauce, and the gnocchi in what was supposed to be pesto sauce with a serving of overly salted almost raw cod was truly horrible. With so many really good places to eat, I would most definitely recommend looking elsewhere.

Rebecca S.

Yelp
We were not impressed with this place. It has a really nice outdoor seating area, and i had heard that it was nice to eat in this piazza, so we just popped in here. We had a calzone, which was large enough to share, but it was not very good, even kind of cold in the middle. The service was horrible. There was a waitress and a waiter, and I would say that it wasn't unreasonably busy, plenty of empty seats, but they were very rude. The waitress got ticked off at me for having to ask for my sparkling water a second time. I heard the waiter speaking rudely to another customer. We have been living in Florence for awhile now, and this is the first time this has happened. Usually the Florentine service workers are very charming. I would never go back here. My husband and I are very patient people and we even use correct Italian when we order, so this was just inexcusable.

Chloe W.

Yelp
DO NOT go to this restaurant the staff would rather spit on you than be nice to you here. There is always a waiter with gray hair and a younger blond waitress who are fighting and normally making rude comments about the customers in Italian; so that the foreigners can't understand them. Go to any other restaurant besides this one in Santo Spirito. RUDEST STAFF EVER!!! There are so many better options than this restaurant where the staff will appreciate the money that you are spending. Trust me. The food is mediocre at best and the wine is awful. I don't know who the owner is of this restaurant but he is lettiing his RUDE STAFF run it into the ground. Look at the other reviews on here about the poor service and if you see that waiter with the gray hair. RUN!!!

Yelp
Food is okay at best. Nice place to hangout and watch people. Do not expect a culinary treat.

Emily G.

Yelp
Really can't go wrong with Pasta here. I just wished they had more options on their dishes. We sat outdoors which was nice since you could people watch. Waiters spoke minimal English so slightly difficult but fortunately they have free wifi so we googled our way to figure out the dishes. The dishes were yummy and priced well. One of my favorite restaurants so far since we got into Florence.

Tina W.

Yelp
happened upon this place walking by santo spirito. had a delicious plate of prosciutto and burrata to start and a pizza and the porcini pasta. the pasta was the least delicious, the waiter forgot in on the counter so it was a bit cold when it came to me. pizza with sausage and stacchino was excellent! prices were fair, with wine and beer the bill came to 41€.

Yelp
An ordannary restaurant on a great spot at the Spirito Santi Square. The food is ok. The price realistic. The staff was kind, but not really professional. We had four different waiters during a one meal dinner. I got my dish fifteen minutes earlier than my girl. We witnessed a strange thing the staff did with the bread and baskets. Uneaten bread was thrown back in a big basket. New customers got 'the old' bread served as if it was recently cut and fresh.

Natalia G.

Yelp
I wish I could give this place zero stars. This was the worst experience we had in our four days in Florence. The waiter who took our food order was very rude. We waited for one hour for two pizzas and only got them because we had to ask where our food was TWICE. They had forgotten about our order. The waiter who finally brought us our food didn't even acknowledge that it took so long. It was not worth the wait. The pizza had no flavor. This whole experience sucked. There are so many better places in Florence.

Steve S.

Yelp
Food was Good. Too many smokers made for an unpleasant experience. Don't come here. They don't care about their customers.

Loves F.

Yelp
The gelato wasn't even gelato - it was some version of an overly sugary whipped cream. And it cost 5 euros. Incredibly disappointed.

Enrique S.

Yelp
They over price the food according to your nationality. They are nothing but thiefs. Food is not good, service is bad and seriously the food is OVER-PRICED. Never go there
