My husband and I visited Belize for our anniversary. We stayed at Cahal Pech Village Resort for 3 nights. The property is already beautiful, but the area where the cabanas is, is truly something special! Instead of a normal hotel room we stayed in our own cabana with a built-in screened porch. Room was clean. There were 2 sinks so it made it easier for a couple to get ready at the same time. The cabana itself had AC and a lovely view of the town as the whole resort sits on top of a hill. We had the breakfast buffet and had our first try of fryjacks—airy and yummy! The dinner was delicious. Try the pineapple crispy chicken. Everyone working in the restaurant and at the front counter was so kind. The resort itself is close enough to town to walk but we had the front call a taxi for us as I preferred not to walk down the hill in my kitten heels. Overall the service, the room, the food, and the view were impeccable. And at a very fair rate, mind you!

We spent two nights here and really enjoyed our stay. Our cabana was beautiful and had a cute little room attached with a hammock, which made the space feel extra cozy. For an additional $29, the staff decorated the room for my daughter’s 18th birthday, and it turned out absolutely gorgeous. It was such a sweet surprise for her. The hotel bar outside also had plenty of cocktail options, which was nice to have on-site. The staff members were all very friendly and helpful. At one point I wanted dessert, but since it was Thanksgiving they weren’t offering the regular menu. They did offer a slice of pie from the buffet for $7, which felt steep for San Ignacio, so I passed. They also call taxis for guests heading into town, which is a nice touch. It’s a very steep hill, so not ideal for walking the mile down. Taxis can cost between $5-$7 (which they don’t take one dollar bills so round up to $10 if you don’t have BZ on you, which is crazy). Overall everyone we interacted with was kind and welcoming. A few things to note: the cabana only had a sheet instead of a comforter, though that seems pretty standard for the area. The bathroom door didn’t lock, the water pressure was low, and the warm water didn’t last long for showers. Overall, it was a good stay with thoughtful touches, but some of the prices and room details felt a bit high for the location.

I don’t think this was a 3-star. The rooms were very basic and poorly maintained. Between 4 rooms, we had a lot of maintenance issues during our stay like broken toilet, lights, AC… There were fundamental room design issues like crooked shelves, no safe, and shower stalls without soap stands. The service was good overall except the front desk. i think they have been trained to just say no. We went on a cave tubing trip and when we asked for beach towels, they said no. They said it was their policy to provide towels only when the tour was booked through them. In all my years of travel, i’ve never encountered this. When we asked for plastic bags, again the front desk said no. Then another staff member got us plastic bags instead. On the flip side, the views are incredible. The location is good too. The restaurant is average or above average. The tour desk is pretty helpful too. I especially liked the coffee shop which has interesting drinks like matcha latte, sakura latte, and taro latte.

We booked this resort last minute. Our main reasoning were the views from the resort and that it was close to Cahal Pech ruins and near the downtown area. The resort was nice, it was quiet (maybe due to the time of year that we went - November). We got the small cottage which was nice, had a hammock outside which was enclosed and netted, that was nice as we were able to relax outside of the room. The room is basic, bed was comfortable, AC worked good. Every that we needed. Just a thought, maybe a microwave or kettle/coffee machine might have been nice. But no big deal. Staff were friendly and very helpful and always smiling. We booked a tour with the hotel and it felt like a private tour as we were the only couple. Big shout out to our tour guide "Fry Jack" and our driver Martin !! FYI the resort is up a steep hill! Definitely a workout.

We stayed in one of the cabins and it was so nice. The pool and the rest of the hotel was beautiful. The only reason it’s getting a four star is because the breakfast buffet is not included. It is my fault for assuming it was but to be fair I have never seen or heard of a restaurant with a breakfast buffet that was not included. They also charge per plate… for two plates it was 55 ish BZE. Which is a bit pricy considering people tend to get multiple plates and also the food options weren’t elevated. Everything else was amazing!

Spent 3 nights at Cahal Pech Resort and I am very impressed |with everything this resort has to offer. The staff was more than accommodating and even helped us deal with some unexpected car issues. We had individual cabins on the hillside with screened in porch overlooking San Ignacio with a comfortable bed, full bathroom and amazing views. With great dining on site, pools and full bar, it was so relaxing to come back to after a full day of touring knowing everything we needed was right there. Highly recommend!
