Cahal Pech Village Resort

We were looking for a hotel with a good location near some of the Mayan ruin sites. We made Cahal Pech Village resort our base of operations for 3 days. Was perfect! We stayed in a Cabana that was very comfortable, nice bed clean bathroom with a great air conditioner. The amenities were nice too, great pool area, good food at the restaurant and a very friendly staff. Was a pleasure staying here and I highly recommend it for anyone else that wants to visit San Ignacio.

Didn't stay there but for $10 you get day use of the several pools with an awesome view. Clean pools, great views and yummy drinks. Coconut flake fizz for $10 was the special it was delicious. Nice staff.

Went with family to have dinner at the restaurant of this resort and we were cheerfully welcomed and promptly sat down. Location is at the top of a hill. The reason for the low service and overall rating is due to the events that happened immediately after we were all sat down. We ordered drinks, an appetizer and our meals. We received our drinks within a half hour, which was already a red flag. The appetizer, ceviche, was delivered about an hour after we ordered and I wouldn’t call it ceviche myself. It was diced vegetables with like two to four pieces of shrimp. This was the second red flag. Finally after two hours we still had not received our main dishes. We spoke several times with the waitress and asked to speak with her supervisor but the supervisor would not show their face. We became very tired and hungry from the constant runaround and left without paying for our drinks. Horrible service. We will never return.

My family and I had a terrible experience at this place. We were charged nearly $300 for a single night, only to be placed in a substandard and sleazy cabin. The air conditioning was not working, and the staff was aware of the issue beforehand, yet they still placed us in the cabin. The shower made alarming noises and the hot water was scalding.||||We reported the AC problem twice, only to be offered a standing fan as a solution. When you pay for a room with AC, YOU EXPECT IT TO WORK! After just half an hour, we requested a room change, preferably in the main building, due to the issues and the inconvenient location of the cabin. Instead, we were offered another cabin further down the hill, closer to the noisy roadside. ||||We insisted on a full refund, but the staff was uncooperative and offered only a 75% refund (pure nonsense). It was only after we threatened to involve the police that they finally provided a decent room in the main building (which was available the entire time and when we asked them why they didn’t just put us in this room from the start, they couldn’t even give us an answer). The cabins should not be rented out in their current condition; they need serious renovation. Despite the nice views, I would never return and strongly advise against staying here.

We stayed in one of their family bungalows which included two rooms and two bathrooms connected by a small patio area. Rooms were adequate. Views were incredible and we were told the best in the area. There are two small pools on site. |The restaurant on site was convenient for dinner when we didn't want to go into town. Staff was very helpful and friendly. You will need a car to get to downtown San Ignacio as this hotel is very high up on the hill; it's a short drive to town though. There was a very large tour group of teens and parents staying when we were there but we didn't mind so much as we were out and about most of the day. |Would recommend this as a very well priced option when in the area.

We stayed one night so that we could access the adjacent Mayan ruins first thing in the am which we did. The thatched cabin was comfortable, pools excellent. We had delicious meals for dinner. View special.

My Family and I recently stayed here for the holidays, and our trip was unsatisfactory. I must say the location is gorgeous! The rooms were dirty, the floor was not cleaned properly, and the bathroom smelled like sewage; it was very unpleasant. I also wish I had been informed that there was no kitchenette (coffee maker, mini fridge) in the room; this demonstrates their poor communication skills. I understand that it’s a busy time of the year but the pool was not cleaned properly and was most cloudy during our trip. Lastly, besides Aston and a few others, the service was appalling. Some at the front desk were not welcoming, and were very short with us; as well as other staff members. For instance, we were informed with the attitude that there was no fried food available; however, when another waiter took our order we got fried food. They also made me pay an extra person fee for a child! That was ridiculous and unheard of. The service was inconsistent, management needs to improve on their customer service and flexibility. Despite the aforementioned, we were not given a partial refund. Overall, we were dissatisfied with our stay and would not recommend anyone staying there.

We stayed at Cahal Pech for one night and quite enjoyed ourselves. The service was outstanding from all the employees but a special shout out to the waiter DANIEL. He went above and beyond during mine and my husband's time at the restaurant and pool. The rooms need an upgrade for sure but the AC worked good. The food was good but dinner was quite expensive for the product served. Overall we would stay here again
