Great gear shop for top end specialized equipment. The staff are knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I think the cafe, situated above the shop, has a good rep locally. I haven’t visited the cafe yet, myself, it’s on the to-do list…

Large range of products and friendly staff who are willing to share their expertise. We dropped in to grab some tick removers for my 6 year old. The staff were very friendly and gave us tips on how to remove it properly. Thanks again.

Helpful and knowledgeable staff. They were incredibly informative to us and provided suggestions of what to do despite our limited time. We hit there during a sale so the prices seemed incredibly reasonable and for the most part the standard prices were on par with what one would expect. They have a great selection of books and guides to help you figure out which hikes ade best for you.

I had a fantastic experience with Martin at Cairngorm Mountain Sports. I was originally referred to him by Kiefer, and Martin absolutely lived up to the recommendation — he’s incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely passionate about helping customers. Martin spent a lot of time with me, helping me try on several different pairs of shoes, carefully listening to my needs and giving honest, detailed advice on what might work best. Even though I didn’t end up buying a pair that day, he still offered the same level of attention and care throughout the process, without any pressure to make a purchase. What really stood out was Martin’s deep understanding of footwear and foot support. He explained everything clearly, including what to look for in fit, posture, and comfort, and guided me through the pros and cons of each option. It’s rare to find someone with such a strong combination of technical knowledge and great customer service skills. He’s also just a really friendly and approachable person, which made the whole experience enjoyable and easy. Martin is a real asset to Cairngorm Mountain Sports, and I’d highly recommend seeking him out if you need help with outdoor gear — especially if you’re looking for expert advice and a relaxed, professional atmosphere.

Our favourite shop in Aviemore! Popped in for a look but left with a fleece and then came back half an hour later for a coat! Amazing prices for some of our favourite brands and designs we have not seen before. Lovely staff too!

Best outdoor adventures boutique in Aviemore! I visited all the other shops and can tell it is by far the best one. The staff is very helpful and experienced. I would recommend the coffee place on the first floor for bikepacking recovery
