We stayed here for a week and found it to be a good place to stay if you are going to be out on day trips and don't plan to spend too much time at the hotel. Overall, the hotel is a bit tired looking, but seems good for families and not bad for the price we paid. We had a garden room right beside the busy main pool. It was noisy at times, but fortunately by 9pm quietened down. The good things we found were: Comfortable beds and a new / nice shower (but small) Staff were helpful and friendly. If you called to ask for something they would help quickly. Son loved the pool and water slide Lovely reception building The cafe area was bright and nice / but generally quite busy Not so good: Small rooms and not well spaced out Run-down hotel, feels like 3 stars in many places The second pool has a boarded - up bar that looks terrible and dated... not super well cared for in many places We asked for a room away from the main pool (as noisy) on the first day, and we were offered a room right next to a smoking area, (was gross) and not ideal with our 8-year-old son. Thus, we stayed by the main noisy pool. There were some rough looking guests and saw a confrontation with a drunk man and staff out the front one night. Perhaps the alcohol vending machine in the foyer doesn’t help 🤷‍♀️ Not sure we'll be back unless they do a renovation. In saying that, we overall were comfortable during the stay,.

Lovely place to stay with lagoons all around the resort and a pizza & pasta restaurant and also a bar with food aswell. Unfortunately the swim up bar has been closed down and is all bordered up and the room I stayed in the bathroom was nice and clean and the bedsheets were clean however the carpet floor was quite dirty but still the rooms are very good value. The staff were just so kind aswell.

The hotel is such a kid friendly hotel. It has 3 pools and it is so fun. I cannot complain about the service or the facilities at the hotel. I do have to mention the rooms are run down, location is far from most things so car is recommended.

Great value accommodation close to Cairns. Just 10 minutes from the city, this place offers clean, comfortable rooms at an affordable price. The restaurant and bar serve delicious food and drinks, making it easy to relax without having to go far. We’ve stayed here several times, including hosting a large 60th birthday celebration and my daughter’s 7th birthday weekend. It’s a fantastic spot for families with young kids — highly recommend!

Reminds me of the resort in Fiji. Massive resort with 3 swimming pools. Their restaurant serves nice as foods and coffee - didn't feel the need to look else where. The bed gets made and gives fresh towels everyday (so good)

I had two amazing stays at the Cairns Colonial Club Resort. The rooms were clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The service was absolutely perfect — friendly, helpful, and always attentive. I can highly recommend this resort to anyone visiting Cairns. A fantastic place to relax and enjoy your time!

We had a very good experience this time and look forward to coming back next time we have a holiday in Cairns. Only the resort's free public WiFi sucks, but I guess I was on the wrong network? Otherwise all fantastic. The pool side bar and restaurant is good. We can always count on that for a nice drink and delicious dinner after a busy day.

My 3 star room rating is deceiving, as it depends on which room you stay in. We stayed in several rooms between our group, at the start and end of our trip. I would give the 300 numbered standard room 3 stars, the 409 numbered superior rooms 4 stars, and the tropical suite 5 stars. This is a family resort, and between the different available pools, go-karts, mini golf and playgrounds, not to mention the kids movies playing on the big screen at the main pool at night, I'm pretty sure your kids will give this resort a 5 star thumbs up. There is a pool-side restaurant and a pizza and pasta restaurant on the other side of the pool. Both are good. If you are travelling with a family member who has a disability or limited mobility, there are only 2 accessible rooms, and they sell out very quickly. If you have someone that can walk with a walker, don't book the family room, it's too narrow to get into the bathroom. The superior rooms fit a walker, but there is no handle in the toilet. The tropical suite does have a handle in the toilet. While it isn't a fully accessible bathroom, you will manage if you have some mobility. The gardens are spectacular and the paths suitable for wheelchairs, walkers and prams. The wifi was marginal in several of the rooms. If you are needing to do work, I would check which rooms have best reception. The superior rooms do not have a desk, but the tropical suite does. Photos are of tropical suite.

Yelp
They let locals take over and the locals stand over the people who book in they steal the tables that booked in people have n the staff do nothing about it locals are more important to room bookings charge people for rooms n treat them like they are crap n they kiss the locals ass do not book in there as you will be treated like crap over the locals stop the locals using the pools n carports won't get my 700 dollars anymore will be going somewhere that's respects there bookings

Yelp
DO NOT STAY HERE. It doesn't look like the pics. It's super basic. My room had no decor and stains everywhere. The carpet had rips, and the free WiFi didn't work. It takes A LOT to get me to complain too. The staff were lovely though.

Yelp
I stayed here after purchasing a deal found on hotels.com. I have been very displeased with this "resort". First, the pictures on the property are drastically misleading...the singular item that didn't disappoint was the pool/beach area. My deal advertised in-room cable (only 5 channels were available), breakfast buffet (this was a joke: old fruit, runny scrambled eggs, bacon not cooked, miso soup!!!), available wi-fi (they wanted $5 per hour, no flare rates available), a fitness center (was closed my entire stay because "I'm not sure, it's just closed"...this is seriously what I was told) and several dining options (included a pool side bar and restaurant, neither great or keeping hours thought the day). I'm not giving it 1-star for two reasons: the majority of the staff was super helpful and nice and the rooms, although shabby and dated, were clean.

Yelp
Wifi is not free.It need 10dollars one day.Boss is so poor that need 10dollars to keep his life.I suggest that travelers don't book this resort. It's far away from the city centre and many insects in your room. This resort must be close down in the future.
