Cairns Performing Arts Centre

Excellent venue with caring staff who facilitate access for those with mobility impairment. Main stage is easily viewed from all seating positions.

Good spot for a theatre production or symphony but not great for watching a band. We recently bought tickets to see an INXS Tribute show and due to the seating, it would have been unfair to get up and dance. The fact that the band clearly drew off the crowd, they struggled. At the end, people started to dance in the aisles and that's when the band really came alive. Another point is that when we purchased the tickets, there were only three tickets left close to the stage. The app wouldn't allow us to only purchase two tickets, so to get decent seats, we had to buy three tickets. We couldn't sell the last one, so this show cost a lot more for us than it should have. We're reasonably new to Cairns, so don't know that many people yet. That was particularly annoying as next to me where two people who clearly only purchased a single ticket each. They didn't know each other, so how did that happen? Majorly disappointing... Teamed with the excessively 🫰 drinks at the venue, it appears we will not be going out much while living here. This appears to be a Council run property (I could be wrong) so why the astronomical prices???

A stunningly beautiful and modern theatre! Always enjoy performing there with the Music Of The Night show. The Cairns Regional Council should be very proud of this spectacular performance space.

The productions are great and the venue is excellent except...it is always so hot and airless. I see others fanning themselves too. If it is at all possible can you make it cooler and/or improve air circulation?

Great venue. Easy access good location close to performance as intimate space. Good aucoustics

They have got I great local acts that have turned out to be tremendous. Seating can be a but uncomfortable after a long period of sitting.

Love coming here to watch tribute bands, theatre shows, comedians, the ballet. Full bar, some food. Plenty of parking on-site and surrounds.

Nutcracker event Nov 2025 This was the worse experience for $95. Being my first time watching the ballet, I will not be doing it again if children can attend. You’d think given the amount of shows that are played promoters would have at least learnt by now, to hold a couole of night shows without children..
