Reception staff were really friendly and helpful.|Room was huge and spotless and so were all of the towels, sheets etc. Large tv that had a great choice of channels.|Slept very well. Great view of the esplanade. |Would have liked a safety deposit box in the room but this wasn’t a deal breaker.|Small swimming pool at the front of hotel. It is in a great location and very easy to get to from the airport.|Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Suite was a great size but kitchenette was not. No toaster or any tools. Just forks, table knives and spoons. Fridge but no freezer compartment so it is marginal for those that want a useful kitchenette. Great view of the water if you get one of those rooms. Our top floor was quiet but noise from playground outside the hotel is heard until after dark. Bath just OK with space but not a good countertop for some reason. No ventilation in the bathroom so it gets stale/stinky. Good TV options.

What a lovely surprise, I usually visit Cairns a few times a year and stay in a far more expensive chain hotel. This time I thought I would opt for a change and selected the Plaza.|I booked direct as would prefer all funds go to business instead of third party.|Check in was a breeze, friendly staff and straight up to room. I was located on the side but still had a lovely ocean view which I was not expecting.|Comfy bed, hot shower, good towels, absolutely spotless. what else do you need?|Had breakfast at Muddys each morning which I love the vibe and location.|Not far from cbd so access to restaurants, shops etc so for anyone travelling solo I highly recommend.|Will be back.

I recently stayed one night at Cairns Plaza Hotel and had a great experience. The location was very convenient, and the room was clean and comfortable—perfect for a short stay. A special mention to Cristina at the front desk, who was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Her warm welcome made the stay even more pleasant. Would definitely consider staying here again when in Cairns!

Rooms need a bit of a refresh, particularly the bathrooms. Bathroom amenities seemed a bit cheap in quality, shampoo and conditioner seemed to be the same as the body wash. Staff were friendly and helpful. Parking easy. Good location. Overall some quirks but I’d stay here again for the right price.

Great Hotel, all the staff greet you in a friendly manner. They book tours, help with excursions. Great views of the bay, just outside the commercial area so easy access to town but not crowded.

Typical 3 star motel. Good - studio with balcony was clean and spacious for 4 people. There are single beds which can be pushed together to make a double bed. Bed ensemble was alright and fairly comfortable. Plenty of pillows, linen, extra blankets provided. Kitchenette has a microwave, plates, bowls, cups, kettle, mini fridge and cutlery. Tea/coffee sachets provided. No stove/no cooking. Smart TV has YouTube. Netflix available if you log into your account. Bathroom has shower gel and shampoo/conditioner. Towels good. Shower water strength excellent! Balcony was clean with chairs. Not so good - No complimentary bottle water. Shower/tub ceiling low and a 6foot+ person will have to crouch to have a shower. Don’t expect clear sea views from any of the rooms as the esplanade is lined with tall trees so views of the sea will be blocked. Overall the building looks to be like an old apartment complex rather than a hotel and is located in the further corner of the esplanade with a 15min walk to the reef fleet terminal. The sound proofing of the rooms isn’t great. There’s a small swimming pool which is located near the road side with a fence cover. The free massive pool in the esplanade is a better option. Plenty of cafes, restaurants within walking distance. Muddys playground and cafe is just opposite the cairns plaza hotel. The front office staff was friendly and helpful when needed. Given that accomodation around the esplanade is pretty expensive this hotel offers a budget friendly decent option.

Our room had a massive aircon/water leak and reception was very helpful and moved us rooms after we got back from dinner. Rooms were nice and tidy. A little squashy and pricey for 1 night considering the room didn’t even have a microwave but other than that would stay again.

Yelp
I was only here for a few nights during a multi-city tour and this was the hotel the tour company choose. All about the location, close to the airport, close to many restaurants, shops and about a 15 min walk to downtown. Parking lot on site, easy for bus to pick up/drop off. Small lobby area but it was never busy. No issues checking in. My room had a nice size balcony with views of the ocean and other hotels. Two queen sized beds and a small bathroom. Everything was clean just a bit outdated. Housekeeping starts very early and can be loud. I opted for no housekeeping services during my stay and kept the do not disturb sign out at all times. Plenty of towels in the room so no need. Good sized refrigerator in the room, just need to adjust the coolness. I never ate at the onsite dining room or swam in the outside pool. I walked to nearby restaurants and bars. Best part was directly across the street you are on the pier and ocean.

Yelp
The Cairns Plaza is an extremely well priced place in a pretty central location. It's about 15 minutes walk to downtown so if you're planning to spend a lot of time there, you'd be better off with one of the hotels over there. Since we were in town todo tours and go out on a boat, this was a great central place to be (even if it's just a bit dated) with just a short walk down to the docks, out to restaurants, bottle shops and a pharmacy, and easy for cans and tour buses to pick up. There's a breakfast (not included with most reservations) so we just sorted ourselves. The pool is very cute and a nice reprieve from the heat. The staff were nice enough to let us leave our bags since we arrived before checkin, but they left them in a room that was supposedly locked (where the breakfast was) but it's also the location of the bathrooms so it didn't feel very secure (besides the feeling of uneasiness, we didn't have any issues). The room was well stocked, cleaned nicely and spacious enough for four of us to share it comfortably without feeling like we were on top of each other. There were nice ocean views and a big balcony, and a fridge in the room. If I head back to Cairns, I would stay here again.

Yelp
Cairns Plaza Hotel is located in a calm part of the Esplanade. It means some walking to the downtown, but no more than 15 mins. If you are lucky and you stay in the refurbished part of the hotel (I did), it is really spacious and well-equipped. There are more than enough towels, coffee packets replenished daily, even cookies. The staff were polite and quite helpful. The only drawback was lack of in-room Wifi. This meant for me spending hours in the lobby. However, given the fact that the internet is a luxurious good in Australia, I wasnot very disappointed by this fact. All in all, I would recommend staying here.
