Cairo International Airport

I just want to help people find the prayer space. I had found info online that says there is a prayer room in each terminal. However, none of the terminal maps had the location. None of the "services" section of any of the websites listed prayer rooms as a service the airport offered. We left from Terminal 2, I believe, and the prayer space was on the second floor, near where the lounges are. There is clear signage and it was easy to find. I'll attach pictures. They are regular prayer areas with wudu' facilities, prayer mats, Qur'ans, and the qibla clearly designated. There might be people sleeping there or doing obnoxious things while you are trying to pray (or sleep), so please keep that in mind. It looked like it could have used a good vacuuming. We heard the adhan. I can't remember if it was from someone's phone or if it was broadcast in the room/airport. There was no audio of the prayer from the men's section.

I had an excellent experience at Cairo International Airport! From arrival to departure, everything went smoothly and efficiently. The airport is clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate, with clear signs in both Arabic and English. ❤️ The staff were friendly and helpful from security to passport control, everyone treated travelers with kindness and professionalism. The terminals are modern and comfortable, offering plenty of seating areas, shops, and cafés to relax before the flight. I also appreciated how quick the customs process was. The atmosphere felt safe, welcoming, and truly reflected the hospitality Egypt is known for. 💕 Overall, Cairo Airport exceeded my expectations! A great gateway to a country full of history, warmth, and beauty. Highly recommended for anyone traveling to or from Egypt!

I stayed for 4 hours transit in cairo international Airport. The services are smooth and easy. Very large airport with many well lacated services. The security every where and are very friendly and helpful. Plenty restaurants with different food and drinks. Also many place to rest in.

The airport was clean and organized. Police officers were serious but helpful. Customs was a breeze and we were able to walk around the duty free store and purchase even though it was almost 2 am. You are only allowed to purchase two bottles of liquor while you’re in the country and your passport will be stamped. There’s a $13 tariff per bottle in addition to the price ~$40 for a middle shelf bottle

It is a small airport. It's not so big like Hong Kong or Singapore or Incheon airport or Dubai airport. There is a prayer room. Has enough toilets. Even on websites, they say they would give visa on arrival for some nationalities. In real life, they don't give. They give it to some nationalities who has a US or UK or Schengwn visa. So those who want to get a visa on arrival get a visa before boarding into the plane. For those who have more transit time, get lunch during lunchtime from the passenger arrival hall. You will be allowed to departure area(floor) only 3 hours before plane departure. No restaurants are available on the arrival floor. Many smoking rooms are available for smokers. Transit hotel in airport was not available when I visited. All staffs don't know English

Really nice and organized with enough waiting area. Of course the crowds at the airport are a little disturbing especially if you're not familiar with the local language and/or if you're not comfortable with smoking. Egypt is generally a smoking country and this starts right at the airport, to the drivers, to the streets and hotels. Egypt and Egyptians should be proud for such a project!

recently traveled through Cairo International Airport, and honestly, the experience was very disappointing. At the security counter, I saw people paying security staff to help carry their personal luggage while passing through the detector. That really didn’t feel right and made the whole security process seem unfair and unprofessional. There was little to no assistance for passengers, and some of the staff came across as non-professional in their behavior. The overall process felt disorganized, and the cleanliness and general attitude were not what you would expect from a major international airport. An airport is often the first and last impression of a country. Unfortunately, this experience was not a positive one.

Good exterior design... But very bad connectivity between domestic and international terminals.. No. Clean water. We get lost searching for terminals. The taxi drivers take advantage of this....
