Cajun Claws Seafood Boilers

We had dinner here on /2/28/26 while staying at frog city rv park for the night. Cali was our server. She did a great job of making sure everything was just the way it should be. I had mimi's etouffee and my wife had crayfish Quesadilla. Definitely some of the best food we have had in a long time. This place gets real busy. It's definitely worth stopping in if you are anywhere near the area.

Food was awesome. Service could have been better. But not to the fault of our waitress, who was busting her butt serving, cleaning, seating and waiting tables. Gold 🌟 to her.

I don’t usually review Cajun restaurants; however every time I come here the Crawfish Etoufette is always amazing. Definitely don’t mind the walk from the Love’s. I’ve had the cheesecake and bread pudding. To be honest, this is my favorite spot for Crawfish Etoufette in Louisiana, and I’m from around Nashville, Tennessee.

Sooooo Goooood, y'all! We had crab & shrimp and fried fish & onion rings. Tried dungeness crab for the first time and it was different than snow crab. It was very good. Our waitress was amazing. It's a beautiful restaurant, too. The atmosphere was great. We had the perfect evening and can't wait to go back.

Excellent food! It was our first time trying the gator bites, and they were delicious. We also loved the spicy sauce they serve. Our server was attentive and very helpful. Great experience overall.

We stopped for blue crabs and really enjoyed the music. The crabs and shrimp were cooked perfectly and not overcooked like a lot places.They have their own worcestershire sauce whichClean restrooms, friendly supportive staff. It wasnt crawfish season but I bet they do those well also. We will be sure to stop here when coming thru on our way back. Better thsn Bill's or all the other ones we have tried for blue crab and the crab were all males as it should be to keep crab stocks plentiful.

The crawfish etoufee was a 10! Boiled shrimp was delicious season just right for my wife who doesn't like anything hot! Mac and cheese perfect the grandbaby! We will stop again! Ty for your nice customer service!

We arrive right after opening and there appeared to be only one waitstaff but it wasn't busy and she did a grand job of greeting us and making us feel welcome. Her service was impeccable. The food was very good. I had the fried shrimp w fries, spouse had the shrimp and oysters and grandson had a burger that he described as very delicious. Would definitely recommend this restaurant! This is one of our stops when leaving BR.

1 Star Review Service was horrible. We waited over 30-45 minutes for our food, and when it finally came out, it was still cold. The guy in the back tried to compensate us for the wait by giving us some potato salad and french fries, but I had ordered the gumbo--so that didn't even go with my meal. The food was very bland, and the gumbo had a burnt taste to it. Definitely not worth the wait or the price.

Found out about this place on good eats with Tangi Pat. Very happy that we stopped here! We love the decor, the friendly service and the phenomenal food. You're ever traveling on I 10 this is a must stop at.

From entering the business, I was greeted by two extremely helpful hostesses, who were extremely helpful in setting the scene for a great evening. The surrounding tables were filled with families enjoying their meals, providing the ambiance I wanted. The three pounds of crawfish and shrimp boil with snow crab legs I ordered were seasoned perfectly, satisfying my hunger with excellent flavors.

I love this place. My husband always gets me chicken and sausage gumbo bc he is a yankee and doesn't eat gumbo.

Amazing crawfish! The open concept of the place is also very nice so you're not crowded. The only downside is its so good so everyone wants go which can lead to delays in getting food.

I walked to the bar and asked the restaurant attended/bar waitress. If you all would sell me a pound of steamed shrimp to go .... She said absolutely , 30 minutes later. I received a to go box with onions, corn on the cob, bell peppers, and a few shrimp. ... not for sure if the waitress was incompetent. , or maybe she don't know what a pound of steamed shrimp is ... I don't know, but I canceled the transaction with my bank ... as an OTR truck driver, I will not go back there again ... I even canceled my $15 tip .... On a $20 meal. ...

Food was delicious-fresh snow crab, fresh shrimp, and we hit a half off special on the pound servings. We missed crawfish season but will come back for sure. Only an hour out from lake Charles but will put it on the to-do list. Other food options and dinner plates to select from, gumbo had choice of seafood or chicken/sausage.

Good boil and good people... as a trucker it was worth it and my dog Angel loved their potato's

I was so excited to eat crawfish in Louisiana! After some searching, found this spot off the highway. 5lbs of crawfish, 1.5 lbs of shrimp. I've never been so happy peeling crawfish for a hour lol. This was beyond good! I thought the crawfish were huge but a lady chatted with us for awhile (I secretly think she was appalled by how we were peeling the crawfish;)) and said crawfish season was in April and to come back then. I will definitely be back at some point in prime crawfish season! Took the churro bites to go for the road trip back to Houston and they totally hit the spot. Dipping sauces included vanilla, caramel and raspberry. Well worth the drive to eat here!

This place is huge! Perfect for USL and Saints games! They have a nice bar and service is good. Crawfish were very tasty and absolutely huge. They have an extensive menu and we will return to try some crawfish étouffée.

Broiled sea food was fantastic Guy playing music was amazing. He could play anything. My grandkids had a great time.

When you know you have a JEEP CLUB coming in Close down for general public - so those of us don't get trapped with poor service because of the CLUB. Especially if your servers & kitchen can't handle the mass influx! Crawfish étouffée was very good. Fried Alligator basket not so good. All batter -

Was excited to try the seafood gumbo, but was extremely disappointed. The broth was very light and bland- basically watered down. It only came with shrimp and very few pieces of crawfish in it with a side of rice. The shrimps were a great size, but the meat itself was lacking flavor. The spicy seasoning was sprinkled on top of the shrimp, rather than being cooked with it along with the corn and potatoes. The seasonings on the table had to be used to give it flavor. I guess I'm just used to a different style of seafood boil.

Over priced for average Cajun food. The menu prices online are not current. I did not appreciate the surprise of over $25 when paying for my food at the restaurant. Also the roads to the restaurant need to be repaved so drive carefully!

Went and got 2 bowls of gumbo for take out on a stormy day. It came with rice and potato salad. I will say it was edible but I've had much better. Just chunked chicken breast for the chicken. The sausage was rubbery. It was a very light gumbo, I prefer a dark rue over light. The potato salad was very bland. The gumbo was also bland but I was at home with all my spices do was able to spice it up real good. Since they have very good reviews, I'm feeling like this is probably just not their signature dish and so we will have to go for dine in and have some crawfish or shrimp to give a review more on what they seemingly specialize in, more than just a bowl of gumbo.

Had the opportunity to eat here recently and figured I'd drop a line. The atmosphere is relaxed. A metal building establishment finished nice on the inside. The crawfish were YUGE. My wife got a crawfish salad which was tasty as well. Next time, I'm trying the bloomin onion as an appetizer, it looked incredible. We'll be back.

I love this place! There staff is so wonderful everytime! Always checking on us and seeing if we need anything! I personally love the crawfish so much and the grilled shrimp! The place just gives off happy vibes and everyone is so welcoming! I enjoy this place every-time we come here! They never change! There was clean bathrooms and there are sinks everywhere for you seafood lovers! Thanks for reading and check out this place!

Who knew you could pull off the interstate next to truck stops and be so delighted by the food and service! The catfish as perfect! The burger was good! I made a choice to get the burger because we were traveling late and I was going to share with my pupster. We will definitely stop here on our return trip but I won't be getting a burger. I'm salivating just thinking of the piping hot fried fish platter. So, the proverbial "doggie bag" didn't make it through the night. It was almost just as good cold.

Service is really slow and food is subpar. All the seafood had a terrible flavor and texture to it.

The crawfish here tonight were unbeatable. They were well seasoned and nice size. The flavors were spot on. The shrimp are always delicious and perfectly cooked.

Out here on the road...most of the time food sucks. Greasy diners,, fast food, hot box edible chemical substrates...garbage. It was nice to find a local joint, situated close to the stop for the day, that had hot, fresh food. The margarita was tasty, and Z's fried fish sampler was just what this road weary trucker needed today. The price was a little high, and do beware that they pass on tHe 4% credit card fee directly to you the customer which is BS if you ask me, but wasn't worth docking them a star for.

Drive through took over 35 minutes. Order is wrong after they verified it. Twice. Caesar salad has modest amount of chicken. Just ok Hush puppies are super spicy and tasted good but order extra water before you take a bite. Sent wrong order back. When they fixed it part of the order was cold. They must do week because of interstate location. Lots of people standing around and only a couple of frustrated people working. Not a good look. Won't be back.

This place was great! Great staff and service and the food was amazing. This will be one of my go to stops every time I go through Louisiana for sure. I can't wait for crawfish to come back in season. Definitely recommend if your in the area.

Service was amazing. The wait for the food was not long at all. And our server was GREAT. Bonus points for the clean bathrooms. Definitely recommend.

My mouth is on fire...in a good way! Came to town looking for an authentic taste of Louisiana Cajun goodness, and found it sitting in plain sight! The staff is warm, and the diners were all in a a great mood. We started off with "Gator Bites" as an appetizer! This is a big portion, plenty for 4 people to share. We followed up with 5lbs crawfish/half pound shrimp! Best crawfish we've ever wrapped our lips on!! This crawfish mountain was plenty for 2 people. We also ordered a basket of fried shrimp & hand breaded onion rings! That's right...hand breaded!! If your hankering for some peeling , "geaux" to Cajun Claws! P.S. I'm not part of the family that owns Cajun Claws, but wish I was!!!

We visited here from out of the state. The food is VERY spicy which we were not used to! If you love spicy food this is the place for you. I got the etouffee; the crawfish were very moist but a little chewy. My friend got the same with fried fish added. The fish was very tender and moist, it was fantastic! Sweet tea had a fresh taste and was perfectly made. Our waitress was a little distracted by a visiting friend so we waited a while for our check. Although she was nice! The inside is very unique which makes for a great tourist location!

Food is excellent, the potions are large and the quality is great. Very fresh made to order. Clean restaurant. Fast service. My only complaint was the waitress acted as if we were interrupting her when we asked for something but she was nice other than that. I was going to give four stars but because he food was so amazing I just couldn't. People need to know about this place.

I hate to say it but, I'm sorely disappointed with this place. Although our waitress was sweet, service definitely lacked. The food was fine. It definitely wasn't bad. A little under seasoned but, not bad. Cooked very well. Sweet potato fries were awesome as well as the funnel cake fries. My in laws really liked the fried mushrooms too. We were expecting to pay around $75-$90 for our family (my husband, my toddler, and Myself). The base total came out at $77, no problem. They added 18% gratuity (which you have the option of removing or adding to). We paid it because I hate shorting people but, I really don't feel that I should have. Upon entering, we told the hostess we had 8 adults and 3 children, one who needed a high chair. She said it would be at the table when the table was ready. Great! Thanks! Got called to the table, no high chair. I asked my waitress TWICE for a high chair and it never came. My toddler was bouncing around when her food came out so, I went and found one and brought it back to our table. Then we waited about 30 minutes for a drink refill as I counted 8 staff members just hanging out by the kitchen register. My sister in law finally got tired of waiting and went up to them with our glasses and asked for refills. We waited a really long time for the checks... I wouldn't mind going back if the service were better. I just don't think I will tempt it for $89.97 (after tip) again anytime soon.

Oh my word. So I order the etoufee (sp) because the waitress said I had to get it. Wow so flavorful and just the right amount of Louisiana spices. I almost found myself licking the plate when I'm done. Come to find out Mimi is the grandmother and it's her recipe and it's never been changed. I'll tell you what Mimi I love you!!! :) also ordered the gator bites, can't go wrong with gator. Definitely making this a stop every time I'm passing through.

"Cajun Claws Seafood Boilers" Today was our first visit here. I am from here and am very, very familiar with this food genre. The food is great. Even compared to the several local competitors, it is great. Nice new CLEAN building, good service, perfect seasonings. CAVEATS: 1) The exit and roads are confusing. Restaurant is North of IH10. One must bypass the first two little intersections, go about 1/4 mile North, then make a hard right turn onto service road, head back towards the Interstate, parking lot is on the left, south of the truck stop. 2) Restaurant parking lot is EXTREMELY dusty. 3) This restaurant is not associated or connected with an older seafood restaurant with very similar name in Abbeville I say: this is a great place, even compared to local competitors. Please stop-by and try it. Rick

Very good boiled shrimp...spicy and hot.....wish they would have deveined them first but oh well.......good service.

We went there on Fat Tuesday. It was crowded (lots of locals). Service was friendly and prompt and food was really good. Definitely recommend.

Very good spot! We were in town for a funeral so we had a large party. E started with some fried appetizers. The battered onion was good but the stars were the fried pickles and mushrooms. Gator bites were good also. Unfortunately, it was out of crawfish season so most of us went with the blue point crab and shrimp. You have a choice of heat level. We went with "spicy" second to the hottest and it was very good. The crab and shrimp were both cooked perfect! Many times the shrimp gets overcooked in a boil but these were PERFECT! My uncle got the seafood gumbo and raves about it! On top of the food, the service was on point. Anything we could want was brought before we could ask. Make sure to grab some of the garlic hot sauce to take home with you. Not super spicy but amazing flavor. I definitely recommend coming here.

The food was great ! Huge portions . Dungeness crabs and shrimp boil was great ! Only complaint , wife ordered a Jameson and ginger ale , but the bartender neglected to tell us they were out so they gave her a glenlivet scotch and ginger ale ! Oh it sucked , and tasted like bug spray ! But they made it right and gave her a tullimore dew and ginger ( bigggg difference too )

I had etouffee twice in NOLA, and this one here beat them hands down. One of the most savory and rich dishes Ive ever had. It was spiced just right so the crawfish flavor really sings in the gravy. Just incredible.

GREAT place in the area to have crawfish! We are always looking for the best flavor of boil, and this place is my go to! We enjoyed fast service on a Sunday during Mardi Gras, which impressed me! I will be visiting again next time we come to LA.

If your Looking for great local seafood faire, this is a must stop. We stopped for lunch and the Oyster Po-boy was fantastic. Also we attended a dinner catered by Cajun Claws where we had a Crawfish Boil. Their boil was one of the best we've had. So much more flavor than all the others. These guys know how to boil Crawfish!!

Underwhelming. The crabs taste like cleaning solution. Seasoning was lack lust, just sprinkled on top. Corn and potatoes had no flavor. Service was slow and inattentive. It was a weekday with only 3 people inside. I won't be returning.

I had fried oysters. Gross. It was a fist size ball of flour with a little oyster. A small oyster is fine but not in a huge chunk of fried flour. Smart people use corn meal because it doesn't make a huge ball. I hope the other stuff was good but mine was not and the service sucked. I dropped a 20 and walked out.

Extremely large portions for the Prices. Some of the photos on yelp aren't doing it any justice. And The smell of my plate makes me want to jump for joy!

Super yummy stop while on the road! Had the crab, fried mushrooms, chicken quesadilla and chicken tender basket and it was all great! Will definitely return when we pass through again in the future.
