We loved our visit and stay at Magnolia Cottage! It was perfectly set next to a lovely little lake. Had a peaceful evening on the porch swing, and a restful sleep in the quaintly appointed bedroom and cottage. Our breakfast was AMAZING and delicious. It was easy to find, easy to stay, and the hosts were delightful.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Cajun Cottage. Breakfast was delivered every morning at about 830a and delicious. The fluffiest scrambled eggs I have ever had. Everything was clean. Very quiet and peaceful. Great break from our fast paced world!

Quiet location north of Breaux Bridge set on a peaceful pond that allows fishing. The old school house cabin was very spacious with a couch, table inside and out on the porch, kitchenette, and swing at waters edge. Breakfast brought to our door was tasty with local meats. Very kind and accommodating owner Dana. Heat worked well. Did not try the gas fireplace or jacuzzi tub. The queen bed was very comfy but high so could be a challenge for some. We hope to come back!

Cannot recommend this place enough! So nice to relax by the lake and then have a fire in the wood-burning stove. Very relaxing and the owners, Trey and Dana, are lovely. The nearby swamp tours are fun. We liked using the canoe on the lake. Many nice little touches too.

What a relaxing, wonderful and peaceful vacation. Our Cottage was spotless, beds firm, breakfasts delicious and the hospitality exemplar. There is nothing better than sitting by a serene lake, ducks, turtles and birds abound, watching the water move with the breeze and breathing the clean country air.

Adorable Cottage and scrumptious back porch looking over the lake. Watching the birds and turtles and frolicking young squirrels was so relaxing. A homemade welcome goodie and a delivery of breakfast were so lovely.||The beds were comfortable and of course it was so quiet. Got a great night sleep.

The cottage on the water was cool and cozy. The morning breakfast of boudin and eggs was tasty , especially sitting on the outside porch. Our host was there when needed. The rustic feel of everything was groovy. Close to restaurants and hunky tonks.

Cozy and beautiful. The cottage was the perfect getaway while the the hospitality was top notch. I really enjoyed a small breakfast in the morning, and a cup of coffee before heading out for the day. Thanks so much to Dana for a lovely 2 days in Cajun Country.

Yelp
This place was amazing! So peaceful! We stayed in the Magenta cabin, which has two bedrooms and a couch that pulls out, as well as a full kitchen and dining room. There's a coffee pot, coffee, butter, salt and pepper, etc. Outside is a porch swing, two lounge chairs, a dinette, and a small grill that includes tools. There's a small dock that's perfect for fishing or feeding the ducks and turtles. This cabin is very rustic, which I loved. We borrowed a little boat and rowed our way around the lake. We actually plan of trying to do a family reunion here soon!

Yelp
What an absolute charm. Cute little cottages surrounding a large, quiet secluded pond. There isn't much cell phone service but I find that a plus; keeping you in the "now"; away from social media and work. This place is so relaxing sitting on your own private deck watching the turtles, birds, fish, and the funny ducks. A delicious picnic breakfast basket is delivered to your front porch to get your day started. Only segregation I would give is that the docks need a little work but other than that I would highly recommend staying at this beautiful getaway

Yelp
We were so pleasantly surprised with this place. We sat out on the deck and appreciated the scenery as soon as we got there. We actually didn't want to have to leave to go to dinner so we just ran down the street (Poche's I think) and picked up steaks along with some sides. We BBQ'd right there on the porch. It was raining and we got to watch a spectacular lightening show. There were no biting bugs which we kind of expected there would be. It was clean and comfortable with nice little touches added. The cute baby turtles kept us entertained while we relaxed. Great area too. We went to some of the gardens nearby. Just awesome all around.

Yelp
This was such a relaxing, wonderful, beautiful, and a tiny bit frightening place to stay! Frightening, you ask? Yes. I am from a city. You stay here, and you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. The people who say the stars at night are big and bright deep in the heart of Texas have clearly never stayed here. There is only a cacophony of crickets and frogs, not a single police siren to be heard. Coming from a city, even a small-ish one like Tucson, I was not used to this at all. The first night, my husband said I reminded him of a dog. Every noise, be it the fridge or the AC, I picked my head up in panic. While we were sleeping, my husband would just sleepily say "fridge" every time I popped up. I think maybe it was because we arrived late and didn't get to look around too much, because the next night I had one of the best nights sleep I have ever had. The staff here are welcoming, and bring you breakfast every morning in a picnic basket! With a mason jar full of OJ! It was, hands down no question, the cutest breakfast of all time! It was delicious, too! I was a big fan of this adorable breakfast. Our cabin was WAY bigger than I thought it would be! It had a full kitchen, living room, the bathroom had a real shower head (unlike pretty much every other hotel ever)...all hardwood floors. It was a modernized, yet still very rustic cottage on a beautiful lake! There was a dock we had drinks on, canoes we could borrow, a lake we could fish in, and while it did feel like staying in an isolated area, it was close enough to anything we could need. Absolutely incredible place to be. After the first night, I was so relaxed. Staying here is like stepping back in time, into a delightful, beautiful scene.

Yelp
This place is a dream come true. My partner and I stayed here for one night and will forever remember--not just the cozy cottage, the peaceful lake, and the calming scenery, but most importantly-- the utter kindness Stephanie and Chris (owners) showed us. After a morning boat ride, we were climbing onto the dock and accidentally dropped our camera into the lake. Heartbroken, we mourned the hundreds of pictures seemingly lost. It was a really significant trip for us, having traveled all the way from California to share our first Valentine's weekend together, celebrate Mardi Gras, and see family. My partner even attempted diving into the freezing lake (it was 30 degrees!) to save it-- no luck. Chris came out and drudged the lake with a rake. Drudging and drudging, he found nothing and hoped that the memory card would be safe inside the camera till the weather warmed up so he too, could attempt diving into the water himself. We drove away disheartened, but grateful for all his help. That afternoon, Stephanie called to let us know that Chris "didn't feel right about it," got to work, created a contraption of sorts, and amazingly retrieved it! We've just arrived back home in California, found the camera in the mail and the memory card INTACT. Every picture, saved. Every memory, clear. Our hope, restored. So when you visit this place, know truly - first and foremost - that you will undoubtedly be in good hands. Find yourself here among the trees and the lake, in peace and in privacy, and when you need it-- generosity and kindness abound. It's not just "southern hospitality"-- it's Stephanie & Chris Hospitality and this simple review on Yelp will never do justice in representing our awesome experience with them at Cajun Country Cottages!

Yelp
We were lucky enough to host our daughter's wedding at these two adjoining properties and it was magical! Dana was so helpful and kind and I couldn't have asked for a more gracious host. My husband and I arrived several days prior to start preparations and we truly felt at home in our "Schoolhouse" cottage. The breakfasts delivered hot to our door every morning were outstanding and just the fuel we needed to get us going. The huge jacuzzi tub helped soak away our aches and pains after long days of hard work. The weather was perfect (not sure I can give Dana credit for that) but the unseasonably cool temps allowed us to enjoy the fireplace in the evenings as well. We have both concluded that the only place we will stay in the future when visiting our hometown from Texas, will be Cajun Country Cottages. We sincerely thank you Dana for providing such a wonderful experience for us and our whole family!!!

Yelp
If you are looking for a bit of peace, look no further. My boyfriend and I live in fast-paced Los Angeles, and we wanted to relax before heading into New Orleans. We spent two nights in our cottage and enjoyed ourselves and the natural surroundings. Sadly, we did not get to meet Stephanie and Chris, but Stephanie was lovely via e-mail and apologized for not being able to personally greet us. There were tour and restaurant brochures attached to the directions to our cottage, and a cool, clean space awaiting us upon arrival. The cottages are located on a bayou (we think it is called a bayou, at least!). The environment was exactly what we envisioned Louisiana to look like. Though the cottages are rural, the location is still close to the cities of Breaux Bridge, Lafayette, and New Orleans. This was a wonderful home base for us to explore Cajun Country. We highly recommend Cajun Country Swamp Tours on Lake Martin. The best part, however, was breakfast! Every morning, freshly cooked, delicious breakfasts arrived at our doorstep. The french toast with strawberries and powdered sugar was my favorite. Five stars for the cottages and the breakfast. The only negatives here were that the private dock seating was inhabited by large, scary spiders, and we couldn't find the canoe. I don't think there is anything to be done about animals and bugs in nature, however, so we city folk simply sat on our porch swing instead.

Yelp
If you are looking for a quiet, rustic, wonderfully relaxing place to stay for a few nights in the greater Lafayette area, look no further. While the decor in the Playhouse, where I stayed, solo, was a bit feminine for my tastes, I was only steps from a private patio on a lake that was filled with turtles (they love powdered donuts), fish, ducks, and other colorful birds. Chris, who runs the place with his wife, couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. It's a bit hard to find the first time, but once you're there, you'll be glad you choose it.

Yelp
This place is absolutely amazing, if its peace and quiet and total relaxation that you want.. this is it! We stayed in the "Little Cypress", it was perfectly decorated and made us realize just how much we DONT need in life, you can really enjoy just the simple things. Chris and Stephanie are wonderful people, they are great at being a B&B host. Thank you Chris and Stephanie, we will be back in 2011 The Kims/MO
