Cala Di Volpe Boutique Hotel

Location is perfectly located with lots of restaurant choices, a huge mall in walking distance and the beautiful riverfront! Thank you so much, Cala Di Volpe staff, for your care and consideration! A special thank you to staff member, Elisa, who has most excellent customer service and helped to resolve and clarify all questions! Definitely eat at the delicious hotel restaurant Azzurro's! The staff is amazingly attentive, caring, and prompt. And the food...well, it draws people in from other hotels, from the community for meetings, just to see the presentation and taste the best of Montevideo! Enjoy!

So I don't sound like I'm complaining, I'll just state facts: 1- Check in is 2pm but the room was not ready until 3pm 2- There was loud construction noise emminating from the hotel's concrete structure (hammer drilling). "It's from next door and will stop at 2pm" we were told at 3pm. It lasted until 5:30pm and continued each of our 3 days. 3- There was a face worth of black hair in the tub. 4- No overflow and a nice rusty smear down the tub. 5- Hair in the bed (not ours) 6- The coffee and tea are NOT complimentary as is the case in EVERY HOTEL ON EARTH (I'm exaggerating but at this price, it's true) 7- No cleaning for 3 days (in their defence, I said no the first day because I was really sick with food poisoning) 8- After visiting 7 countries and twice as many hotels in a trip literally around the world, this hotel has the most uncomfortable bed. Not the worst I've ever slept in, but nowhere near mid tier. 9- The AC makes an audible snap as the connection is made which is not a big deal on its own, but the buffer on temp control doesn't exist. As soon as the room hits your temp plus one, it kicks on for about 5 minutes, then off, then on, then off, then on... Snap snap snap snap snap snap.... Anywho... It sucks. Save another few bucks and stay somewhere nicer. On the plus side, the employees were very polite when they took our money for the coffee we thought was free and made my wife pay for her complimentary breakfast with a smile.

My husband and I came here for two nights and loved our visit. The room, location, and service were outstanding. At the last minute, I had postcards to send out, and one of the attendants, Nicolas Brito, took them to be mailed for me. He did it on his time, and I’m grateful. His service was amazing. I really appreciate his service!

Very comfortable corner suite overlooking the River Plate and the rambla. Restaurant was excellent for dinner and breakfast was also very good. Quite a haven and thanks to Uber can reach ferries and buses pretty quickly

A great stay in cala di volpe for a business trip. Close to a lot of restaurants, a supermarket and a big mall (punta carretas) has everything you might need. A quick 20 minutes from the old town via Uber. Breakfast has variety but somewhat repetitive. Price wise was a bit expensive for me.

Location, location, location. On rambla (beach walk), a block from shopping mall and market (where you can buy/heat meals to take back to hotel), close enough to Ciudad Vieja for a healthy walk on rambla (we did…. 7 kilometers!)|Room is spotless and lovely as are all staff persons. Would stay here again and again.

Location, food, room, staff, cleanliness, professionalism all top notch! Located on the Ramblas walk outside and you're at the water. Breakfast was amazing from the fruit to the specially made eggs to order. Room was comfortable and bright and bed comfortable. The staff was always eager to please and to oblige. Cleanliness plus. Loved the lounge area and the desserts were sooooo yummy!! A real find.
