Stayed at the Calatrava Hotel in February (off season in Mallorca.) It was a truly wonderful stay. The breakfast is fresh and delightful. There are items you can help yourself to (fruit, museli, bread, ham, salmon, pastries), and an a la carte menu with eggs (the eggs royale was fantastic), pancakes, etc.. Don't be shy! Loved that the breakfast started at 8am and went till 11am (not too early!! Yay!! You can sleep in if you wish!) The view from the breakfast area over the bay of Palma is stunning. They have a really nice plastic encasing that keeps you warm while not obstructing the view which is really nice in winter (probably not used much in summer except to provide shade.) The rooms were immaculate, well designed, aesthetically appealing, and well cleaned each day, they gave us delicious local teas each evening in our room which was a nice touch The staff were wonderful, professional, polite, and went out of their way to help us arrange parking, reservations, taxis, and food recommendations all throughout our stay. The parking garage was a bit tricky to get into with a large car (which they told us about), so do get a smaller car if possible (if with a smaller car, getting in and out will be easy.) The decor is lovely--a local photographer from Mallorca took pictures of the island that are featured throughout the hotel. I also enjoyed that it is not a huge hotel. Personally, I do not swim and did not miss a pool at all--weather in February makes swimming, even in a heated pool, undesirable and I actually booked this hotel because it has no pool. I had an early departure and they made me a really nice breakfast to go and called me a cab--made my stay easy. While the location is not in the city center, I loved that our room overlooked a quiet street and that the beach and a walking path next to the sea was nearby. All the city attractions were easily reached by walking or biking. The A1 bus to eh airport stops a 3 minute walk from the hotel, which made getting there for my friend easy. 10/10 would recommend for anyone staying in Palma.
