All the great things everyone else has said was our experience as well. We loved this place-the eclectic and thoughtful decor, the homey but elevated feel of it, the delicious breakfast and the quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Clearly this place attracts a certain kind of traveler who appreciates design, quiet, comfort and sustainability. To sit on the roof deck terrace with coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening, overlooking this beautiful ancient city, is really a peak experience.

A superb, well equipped and well located guesthouse. Super clean, and very comfortable room. The breakfasts were wonderful, as was the tea and coffee freely available all day. Lots of little details which make your stay very enjoyable. As mentioned by others, Sangita was very helpful, as were the other staff we met, all a credit to the establishment. I will most definitely be recommending Calcada to all my friends!

What a great place to vacation. This is the best accommodation you could ask for outside of your own home. It felt like home, and Sangita made sure that you lack nothing, she is an amazing host. Rooftop Terrace for relaxing and meeting other guests, sitting room with blankets and comfy sofas, the BEST coffee machine along with tea and water available at your leisure. Beds were made and room tidied daily. Sangita, you are such a pleasure...thank you for making out stay in Tavira a special one!|Scott and Terri, |British Columbia, Canada

I think, from reading reviews, we were expecting a little more, but there were a number of positives: great location, quiet, comfy bed, efficient air conditioning unit in the room, use of coffee machine, use of a shower room which was available as we couldn't check out later than 11:00 but still wanted to go to the beach before we got our flight. There was also a roof space with a fridge, which was handy.|Not so great was that the room was quite small, and the bathroom didn't have a window, so tended to smell a bit musty, especially the shower curtain, which wasn't so pleasant. The air con was rarely on in the guest house, just a small inefficient fan, so it wasn't comfortable sitting in the communal area. Although staff seemed friendly enough, we were never given any helpful or accurate information/advice regarding ferries to the beach, getting around, markets, directions etc, so just had to figure things out ourselves or speak to other guests. There were only ever staff around in the morning, but never in the afternoon or evening. Towels were rarely changed (we were there for a week) and were taken away daily to dry out, but when brought back, we didn't know which one to use as they were both the same. | I think this place is a great option for a short stay, mostly owing to its location, but it isn't cheap for what it is.

Fantastic guest house - more like a small boutique hotel. The staff were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. We will hopefully be back next year - thanks to you all for making our time with you so special! A & E

Rossana and Calçada Guesthouse were amazing. This stay was the most incredible part of our trip to Portugal. The hotel was gorgeous and everyone was so kind and helpful. We can't wait to come back!

A small guesthouse situated in an old building centrally located. A lot of care has gone into planning the accommodation and services. The beds are very comfortable. The breakfast is superb. The service is discreet and very helpful. The communal area has local guides in several languages, a pleasant view of the atrium, comfortable sofas and chairs, coffees, teas and water available at all times.

We had the best stay at Calcada Guest House! The room was a delight, very comfortable, clean, and bright. There were so many lovely details such as the luxury soap and shampoo and the delicious breakfast on the roof terrace. WE WILL BE BACK! The atmosphere was so relaxing and the staff were incredibly accommodating and kind.
