Calcot & Spa

"Cozy and comfy country living is what’s on offer at the Calcot, an old world manor house with a state-of-the-art spa in Tetbury. If you fancy spending all your time in the dreamy indoor pool or courtyard hot tub, you can. If you fancy a G&T by a window overlooking the garden, or cycling the through the 220-acre grounds, you can. If you fancy eating fine food in the Conservatory restaurant or hanging with the kids in a barn complex with Xboxes and ping pong, you can. The 35 rooms set round a courtyard of stone farm buildings with 12 in the main house are all charming, big beds, plenty of space, mixing the traditional with the contemporary in furnishing and decked out in a neutral palette with the odd bit of color and print. Relaxed rather than grandiose, with a wide range of treatments on offer in the spa and a choice of fab pub food in the main building’s Gumstool Inn if the Conservatory’s upscale modern British and European food gets too much, the Calcot is a destination for special occasions where everyone will be happy."

My husband and I visited for a 2 night break and had a wonderful time. We were both so impressed with how well the hotel catered to both adults-only and families, especially during school holidays. Our room was wonderful (Generous), the free bike hire was really fun, and the spa & gym were amazing. |The only area for improvement from our perspective was the breakfast which was average, but dinner was great. |We came back feeling very refreshed and would absolutely return - either as a couple or with our toddler. Highly recommend

Calcot went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing stay for our birthday celebrations by adding a few special touches which were really appreciated. The staff were all lovely, the facilities were spotless, and the food was fantastic. (We ate at The Hive for brunch and The Brasserie for dinner.) Thank you so much for making it such a memorable stay.

After my mother having a fantastic early evening meal here in June, she wanted to take me to the Hive for my birthday lunch. After being discouraged from eating outside because of wasps, we were seated at a small round table near the door to the hotel proper. It was very busy but Gregor was super and attentive. The food came quickly as did drinks and the food was delicious. However the whole experience was marred by parents with small children who weren’t interested in the children, letting them run around in a confined space. Pushchairs being bashed consistently in to my mother’s chair - had she told me at the time I would have spoke to the lady. To top it all off a barking dog was seated with them who clearly thought he should be being fed too. |When paying £20 for a light bite in a nice cafe/bistro/restaurant, one would expect a little more. Even staff members recognised the issues and said as much. Yes it’s the summer holidays and yes everyone should be able to eat out but this was a bit much. Is the spa overrun with babies and toddlers too I wonder?

Wow! What a place! We spent a wonderfully relaxing night in the Barn Suite at Calcot and were blown away by the both the place and the staff. Our suite was huge, immaculately clean and really well designed. Lots of little touches to make it feel homely yet luxurious. The hotel and its grounds are gorgeous, lots of lovely places to sit and relax. And the staff, particularly the reception and spa staff, couldn't do enough to help. Really attentive and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. I loved the spa facilities (very clean!) and the outside hot tub was definitely my favourite place to sit and relax. For family entertainment we loved having the outdoor pool to ourself for an impromptu game of pool volleyball, and also wandering in the nearby fields and woods hunting for lost frizbees whilst playing disc golf. Such fun! I'd be back there tomorrow if I could! Thank you Calcot.

Visited for afternoon tea which I had for a birthday present. Would have been great to sit outside but the wasps are a problem. Very generous portion with a great mix of savoury sandwiches, scones and cakes. Had to take some home as too much to eat. Was rather surprised to be asked to pay £4 as the cost had gone up since the voucher was purchased- surely they should honour it for the eligible period- left a bit of a sour taste.

Absolutely exceptional from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel completely at home — the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming, attentive, or professional. The entire experience was flawless. The facilities were outstanding, every detail thoughtfully designed for comfort and luxury. Dining was on another level — truly unforgettable meals that made every evening special. We genuinely had the most amazing stay and can’t wait to return. A 5-star experience in every sense.

From the moment we arrived, Calcot Spa delivered on every level of luxury, comfort, and countryside charm. Tucked away in the beautiful Cotswolds, the setting is like something from a storybook—lush greenery, stunning architecture draped in ivy, and the kind of peace you only get when you’re truly away from it all. Our room was gorgeous—elegantly decorated with rustic touches and the most comfortable bed, perfect for sinking into after a day of spa and walks. The attention to detail throughout the property was so thoughtful, from cozy slippers to soft lighting and charming decor. A real highlight was the outdoor jacuzzi, which we were so excited to enjoy. Although our soak was cut short due to an unexpected thunderstorm (safety first, of course!), it was still a memorable experience relaxing in the warm bubbles with views of the gardens. For lunch, we dined at The Hive, and it was fantastic. The lobster roll was honestly one of the best I’ve had—fresh, flavourful, and perfectly balanced. A huge thank you to Max, our waiter, who was a wonderful host. I asked for his recommendation, and he was absolutely spot on. One of our favourite parts of the trip was exploring the vast grounds surrounding the hotel. Calcot provided everything we needed, from umbrellas to wellies, making the walks even more enjoyable despite the unpredictable weather. The trails and gardens were so peaceful and beautifully maintained. Every aspect of our stay felt warm, welcoming, and indulgent. Calcot Spa is the perfect escape whether you’re looking to relax, explore nature, or simply be looked after by a team who truly understands hospitality. We can’t wait to return!

Calcot Hotel has been a delightful favorite of ours over the years, and it never disappoints in providing an absolutely wonderful experience. Calcot is more than just a place to stay; it feels like a second home. The staff are truly amazing; by now we feel more like we know old friends than hotel staff! They are friendly, warm, and extremely thoughtful, and they are a big reason Calcot feels special.|||The food is always very good, but I have to spotlight the crab – it is fantastic. Every time we come back, we hope it's still on the menu (fingers crossed for July!). It is one of those dishes you crave long after a meal; fresh, beautifully cooked, and full of flavour.|||Everything about Calcot is about relaxation, undoubtedly intentional with the lovely spa, boutique rooms, ambient lounges and surrounding countryside. It's luxurious without ever being pretentious|||If there is one tiny thing I would love to see more of, it would be more variety in local cider. That would be the perfect tie in to really embrace the magnificent area.|||So many wonderful stays, can't wait to go back again in July!
