Spa review..
I arrived 30mins early to enjoy the spa facilities. The lady at the front desk asks if I'm a member or staying at the hotel. I'm not, as I live locally. So I couldn't use the spa. I'm paying £160 for a 1hr facial and I can't use the spa.
Very disappointing. Especially, as you can do a half day with facial, two course lunch and access to the spa for £220. Seems like a very greedy, short sighted business practice. I would have genuinely been interested in the gym and spa as its so close to where I live, but not with this policy and service.
Adding to this review, now that I've had my facial.
My beauty therapist was Ellie. She run through the medical questions very quickly in what felt like a script. There was zero small talk or personalization. Felt very robotic and not relaxing. The facial/massage bed was narrow and very uncomfortable. The bolster were not moved to accommodate my height (6ft) and when I asked if she had other bolsters to support my knees and back, she said no and lifted my head without warning.
When the facial was over I was delivered another script, and I had to ask where I could make myself presentable. She directed me, did not take me to the changing room, so went the wrong way.
I had planned on coming here in February, for a half day with girlfriends, for a pampering as new moms. I'll now be looking elsewhere.
The two stars are because my face is feeling replenished and dewy, which is lovely. Everything else was a disappointment.
