"American sculptor Alexander Calder created what became the recognizable symbol of Grand Rapids. Located in front of city hall, "La Grande Vitesse" (meaning "the great swiftness") is a monumental, site-specific sculpture. Since it's installation in 1969, it has been the center of a well-attended art festival that occurs downtown every summer. The annual Festival of the Arts is credited with creating an appreciation for public art within the community and opening the way to Art Prize." - Fairly Painless

Locally legendary.
An amazing event place for several of Grand Rapids, MI's most notable events.
Highlighted by the industrial artwork of Andrew Calder. His fixture of art is such a part of Grand Rapid's history it has made itself an icon within the city's municipal flag.

Silent Disco. We had an awesome time. You need to be there really early because the lines to get in are LONG!

Definitely not worth the hour wait in the tiny parking lot to get out. Lots of emotions from many having to JUST SIT. gotta find a faster way to get everyone out.
