The building is beautiful and I enjoyed my stay more or less but I found the lady who met us and gave us our key to be quite rude. We were on time to meet her in front of the building and she was seriously late - 45 minutes. She didn't even mention that she was late, nevermind offering a polite apology, and we'd been standing there with our bags. I flatly pointed out that she was late after it had become clear that she wasn't going to mention it and she curtly told me "We're on island time here" - the implication was to "deal with it". I thought it was really rude. 45 minutes late I can handle but it should always come with an apology.

This apartment building is in the perfect location; we loved being walking distance to everything in VSJ. That being said, the listing photos for the Casablanca apartment need to be updated to better show what is meant by the "open patio"- while authentic to VSJ, it is not clear from the listing that it is open air and rain will pour into the space and you cannot walk in the apartment without getting wet feet. This also causes the apartment to have a sickeningly musty smell. The open air patio also means there is no noise barrier to the very festive night life and nearby restaurants in VSJ. Overall, because of the smell and noise, my travel partner and I did not sleep very well. The openness also meant that there were cockroaches found in the apartment's kitchen. The property management team is a husband and wife. While I found my AirBnB correspondence with the wife to be very friendly and helpful, when her husband came to replace a blown light bulb he was verbally aggressive which made me and my travel partner feel uncomfortable and unsafe. His behavior and the misrepresentation of the open air space would make me hesitant to recommend this apartment to others.

Amazing place! Our apartment was on the street. We could open our window/doors and sit and enjoy the evenings. Perfect location. I'm not sure 5 stars is enough. I'm not sure if I can express how much I loved staying here. Can't wait to return!

Gran lugar para hospedarse, en el mero centro del viejo san juan. Betsy, la encargada, es muy amable.

Yelp
Super excellent experience. Gastro deligh. A real OLD / VIEJO SAN JUAN vibe. Across from the cathedral where PONCE DeLeon is buried. The ceviche (not labeled as such) but SNOOK CRUDO is a way different and wonderful experience ceviche. The purple ceviche salsa is a visual and taste WOW!!! the fish texture is different than what normally expect. The black wafer is not exactly to my taste but is stunning to see in a hood way. The spinach empanadas with a bit of powdered sugar is unusual and works / combines well. 5exture and doneness is to perfection. Wait staff was pleasant and responsive. But atmosphere takes this place to a special goodness experience. The surrounding scenery adds a lot. A super nice experience for my last night in San Juan this trip. Add in beloved family for New Years / Christmas and have lifetime great memories.

Yelp
Came here for breakfast after it was recommended by the chef/owner of Pio Pio. It's a beautiful café next to a church, with outdoor seating under a large tree that provides plenty of shade--such a lovely setting. My iced coffee was delicious, and I really enjoyed the house yogurt. I do wish it had come with more granola for added crunch and texture, but the freshness and quality were definitely there. My friend ordered the Japanese omelette, which looked great, but she wasn't a fan. I didn't try it myself, so I can't speak to it. That said, I'd love to come back and try more from the menu!

Yelp
Best food in town. One of my personal favourite spots. Sin duda deben pasar a probar, ya sea desayuno o cena.

Yelp
Are you looking for a cute and quaint restaurant for brunch and drinks? Caleta 64 is the perfect place to feel your main character fantasy in the heart of Old San Juan. The staff is very friendly and offer wonderful recommendations. Drinks are made perfectly as well. We did a good ole Aperol Spritz as well as a recommended cocktail ( can't remember the name, but it used local spiced rum) both of which were delicious. As I mentioned, Caleta is located in the heart of Old San Juan so you can easily walk around before or after. Most seating is outside (and limited) which allows you to soak in the energy of the city. As I sat there, drinking my drink and enjoying our breakfast, I had tears in my eyes at how beautiful the experience was.

Yelp
this is literally my favorite spot in the world. best sandwich i have ever had. amazing clean euphoric espresso, good vibes , great service. if you're looking for coffee and food that has been handled with care- this is your spot. the sandwich was unreal. the olive spread and fresh bread was next level.

Yelp
Ratimus was an amazing server. The palleq was outstanding and everyone ordered tapas to share. Everything was outstanding.

Yelp
The outdoor seating under the large tree was a great ambience. We reccomend trying the local budin which had the perfect level of sweetness. Jackie was a great server! Otherwise, we also had an iced coffee and a capuccino; both of which complimented the budin and captured the rich flavor of Puerto Rican coffee.

Yelp
Small outdoor café. Excellent food very limited seating, but the food was amazing. We ordered the sliced lamb shank sandwich and the chicken and it was divine.

Yelp
So we like this place overall (across El convento) perfect location ...went 3 times in one week. Just beware on Sunday there is terrible service, around 4pm (lady) - she would not give us water or menus probably bc we are Americans with kids. Anyway pls follow up at rosharma77@yahoo.com and I can give full details and let you know more . Just insane. At the end we had to complain to manager! It was a Zero tip situation!

Yelp
I can't say enough nice things about this place! Close to everything! My cousin and I stayed here for a week. We were in La Puerta. It was perfect! The apartment was beautiful. With a brick floor and high ceilings. There is a washer and dryer, coffee pot, pots and pans for cooking, microwave, and a mini fridge. All the comforts of home. I have recommended it to others.

Yelp
Have I mentioned how much I love Betsy? I left behind a new book that I bought for my daughter to entertain her on the trip. Betsy followed up our stay with an email so I figured that it wouldn't hurt to ask her if they came across our "Little Miss Trouble" book. Sure enough, Betsy emailed to tell me that it was located and they'll mail it to me ASAP. Caleta 64 gets customer service- I can't wait to send more business their way!

Yelp
Excellent place. I enjoyed my stay. Betsy! I had a great experience and I'm certainly going to return. Betsy (the owner, I believe) was so responsive and helpful. Truly a pleasure. That was my first visit to PR and I loved it!

Yelp
Absolutely incredible experience! As a couple (1st time in Puerto Rico), we decided to travel on a whim. We made decisions about where to stay, last minute. Caleta64 was our third& fourth night in Old San Juan, and we are SO happy they were available! Our room was not ready yet, since we had to check out of our previous one early. They were SO accommodating to us and let us leave our bags in the room, while they were cleaning it. We stayed in their Casablanca apartment, which was SO unique and SO fun! First floor apartment with one kind bed and one double futon and 2 bedrooms and a kitchen with washer and dryer too. Amazing little apartment! We could have easily felt at home there, if we had stayed more than 2 nights (next time we will!). Casablanca is at the ground floor, so it has no windows onto the streets. INSTEAD... it had an amazing interior courtyard that is completely open to the sky! Rain came in and went down into the drain, while watering the gorgeous tropical plants in the planters... all while the doors were open to it! We didn't even need AC... it was so cool and comfortable there! It was like camping outside... but with a roof over a comfy bed. So unique and so amazing (I took so many photos that i'll post everywhere I can review them... LOVE!). Totally worth it to stay in the Casablanca apartment in Caleta64. I assume that the other apartments (upstairs and with windows, are also just as amazing! ;) Can't wait to go back!!

Yelp
This place is GREAT!! We stayed in Adoquin which is a studio apartment. We loved the large space that you have compared to a hotel room. The floor is brick, high ceilings with wood beams. The apartment has a sink, coffee pot, washer & dryer, TV, etc. We loved the big open doors! The apartment is located on a residential street which I feel gives it more charm. Old San Juan is very quaint and everything is withing walking distance from the apartment. The OSJ area is very safe during the day as well as night. This property is around the corner from El Covento Hotel. Betsy who allowed us to drop off our luggage early is a GREAT hostess!! She loves her city and gives lots of tips and advice. If you are looking for something different than a hotel, this would be a great choice!!

Yelp
Super great place, clean and comfortable. The owner is great, readily available and responsive, check in and check out was flawless. The area is the best in old San Juan. You cannot go wrong with this place.

Yelp
What a wonderful stay. Caleta 64 Apartments is a perfect blend of Rustic, Old World, and the perfect touch of modern amenities to make it a comfortable stay but still the life of Old Town. Customer satisfaction at Caleta 64 is on a level like no other. Renovations were being done at the time of our stay,(Brother, sister in law, and their 8 1/2 month daughter), and we were in the Casa Blanca with the open patio. After our first night Betsy came over to check in on us and told us how she stayed up all night worrying about us and the construction and things not falling on our heads. She was so concerned she asked if we could stay the next night in one of the upstairs apartment because she was being "paranoid" about our safety. After that the windows would be secured and we could enjoy the rest of the stay in our original apartment. We came just out of season so it was nice and quiet. Betsy came over everyday to see how we were and stayed for at least a half hour which I thought was great. We forgot a hat for my niece and Betsy came by and loaned us one of her daughter's, that was just the tip of the iceberg of how she went out of her way to make our stay here enjoyable. The service here is like no other and better than staying at a hotel where you could lose the whole feel of Puerto Rico. Caleta 64 is on the best looking street in all of Old San Juan and convenient to everything in Old Town. I hadn't been to Puerto Rico since I was a child and I've decided Puerto Rico is the only place I'll vacation and only at Caleta 64 apartments. High ceilings, A/C in every room with Satellite television, and convince to everything Caleta 64 Apartments Is the only place to stay in my opinion in San Juan. When you stay here Betsy and her husband also own a hat shop which would be prudent to visit on your first day of vacation. I did it on the day I was leaving and wish I had my hat from day one since it has become a part of me.
