We had the misfortune of witnessing the incident described above, and feel compelled to offer some independent clarity on what actually occurred.
The two individuals involved behaved absolutely appallingly, and should hang their heads in shame for the way they spoke to both the young waiting staff, and the lady manager who patiently endured their rants in the bar area.
They asked for, and were served gravy—exactly what they had asked for—but somehow they decided it was everyone else’s fault that it wasn’t vegan gravy. Their behaviour in response was so bad that we, and many other diners, wondered whether they might have been drunk. Whilst that would not have excused their behaviour, it might at least have explained it. Unfortunately, they were not—just self-absorbed and obnoxious.
The author of the original account referred to the establishment as being “run by kids,” yet those so-called kids behaved impeccably, showing remarkable restraint in the face of such dreadful behaviour from supposed ‘grown ups’..
What made the scene even more disheartening was that one of them was holding a baby throughout. It’s hard not to wonder how they would feel if, in years to come, their own child were subjected to the same kind of treatment by so-called adults.
On a more positive note, our party had a superb evening, despite the impromptu entertainment. The food was excellent, and the service superb and friendly.
Highly recommended, although if you are a plant based drama enthusiast maybe give it a miss.
