"Touch Down at California Cantina Santiago's most popular sports bar is the place to see the big game (soccer, US football, rugby, etc.) streaming from their TVs. Beyond sports, the vibe is an international crowd that congregates many evenings on the terrace to drink beer or participate in the events like an annual Halloween Party, St. Patty's Day, or DJs spinning tunes in benefit for Breast Cancer Research. There's a wide range of artisan beers, powerful cocktails, and typical North American bar fare, like nachos and burgers. Always packed. Wanted to watch some American Football. This place was exactly the right place for it. The beers were excellent and I had great pizza. The bartender was amenable to switching the television games around and was even courteous enough to ask us before moving games around again.

Came here to watch NFL game while on vacation. The service was great and we enjoyed the drinks and chicken quesadilla.

I ordered a beer which was off (bad). It was replaced without complications though. The waiters were all really polite and lovely, but the overall atmosphere was only okay, and when I left briefly to get cigarettes the bouncer was really unwelcoming when I returned (genuinely not drunk, just a single forty something male trying to return to a group). Also it's expensive here. I echo the sentiments of others, it's not terrible, but when there are so many better options nearby it's hard to justify coming here unless you have a specific reason to do so.

Google
Little dive bar in Santiago. They had NFL games on which is why we went. Food was pretty good. Drinks were good and cheap. Bartender was very nice. Would recommend but also know what you’re going to- this is not a 4 or 5 star dining establishment. But if you don’t mind a nicer dive bar then you’ll love this place!

Great place for a football night. Staff are very friendly and willing to help with your order. Theme nights are the best. Food is 10/10.

I love coming here for the 4th of July celebration. We always have a blast with the competitions!

Smoking section is way too big. The space for regular people is tiny compared to the outer smoking area. It smells terrible and my clothes are picking up all the cigarette smoke. It's supposed to be a good vibe for Americans but I guess they don't know we don't chain smoke non-stop at restaurants. Good food and decent drinks. Service was very good. Great place to watch a game if you're seated away from the smokers.

NFL Football on Thanksgiving Day is a must for me. So I looked up, where to go for the New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys game. Camifornia Cantina came up. I live roundabout 75 km south. When I got there, I asked, if they show the game with original comentary. A very friendly waiter answered in english and showed me to the bar. I ordered dark beer from Chile and a Veggie Burger. Both tasted very good. Glad the game changed around in the second half. I give California Cantina five out of five stars. If I would live in the city, I would go there every football sunday. Come close to playoff time, I will be there several times.

Yelp
Just got to Santiago and looking for a place to grab a quick bite on a Friday night. Quite crowded so ended up in a table in the bar area. The music was quite loud but the only place to eat. We ordered a couple of beers that were local that were good. They have a good selection of beers. For dinner we ordered the cheeseburger pizza. Pizza arrived quickly and was very good. No red sauce but all the things you expect on a cheeseburger including the fries. It also had a drizzle of ranch dressing. Ate and left but quite popular with young crowd.

Yelp
Looks like a nice restaurant, pleasant outdoor atmosphere ( not sure I would call this a sports bar). I walked over from my hotel in Vitacura last night thinking I would get a beer, have been in Chile for a week and was hoping to feel a little Texas like warmth. After being allowed to walk through the roped entrance I went to the bar area and sat at a table. I hung out at the table for a while (not too long, maybe 10 minutes) and was not approached by any server and noticed a few TVs at the bar so I just decided to leave. I may come back but wonder if there are any true sports bars in Santiago....you know the type? A number of TVs on the walls with different games showing?

Yelp
I've probably been here more than any other bar in Santiago. Is it the best? No, but it definitely has its place. I would not recommend tourists to go here - unless there's some sort of sportsball game you MUST watch while on vacation, skip it. If you live in Santiago though it's a good place to have on the rotation. Food: The food isn't the best I've ever had but it certainly isn't bad. I've enjoyed most things I've ordered - from pizzas to burgers. They have wings which can be hard to find in Santiago, but I can't recommend the buffalo wings. Chilean hot sauce has a distinctive flavor that is very different and way saltier than Franks/traditional buffalo sauce. I tried using it at home to make buffalo sauce and it just doesn't work - and it tasted just like the buffalo sauce here. The other sauce flavors for the wings are good though. Drinks: They have a nice variety of drinks with prices that aren't too offensive. Atmosphere: It's a gringo bar. The place is pretty huge - there are several rooms on different floors. This makes it a great place for events. I've been to several events from different groups - from language exchanges, English storytelling, to US presidential debate parties. They also seem to have themed dance parties and events that you can find on Facebook. The ambiance is California sports bar with surfaces that are a bit sticky. Service: Typical Chilean service (slow) but I have been there before when the service was actually really good. They get really busy and are understaffed but you can tell the staff is usually doing their best given the circumstances. Overall I think as long as you know what to expect you shouldn't be disappointed with this place, and I would recommend it to any English speaking foreigners in Santiago.

Yelp
A big thanks to the staff at California Cantina for turning on the falcons game. Thanks for allowing us to be home away from home. I love this place because I was able to watch NFL football. My Atlanta Falcons were playing the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football. Daughters had quesadilla and wings. Large portion and typical bar food. pappa fritas were bland and unseasoned. Cold beer and NFL is what I was looking for and I found it. Service was slow but staff was kind and most of the staff spoke English also. Come here for American football, bar food, beer and cocktails.

Yelp
I loved the service in this place, everyone was really nice. Beer not so cheap but I guess nothing is really cheap in Chile. I loved the service but again, I was there on a Sunday night. They should have more drink specials but I guess none really has drink specials in Santiago on Sundays I'm a spoiled girl, in Texas everything is big and cheap so I guess Im gonna gave to get used to the Chilean standards. Oh well!

Yelp
My sister-in-law just got her purse stolen from under her chair. Video from restaurant showed a kid sitting next to us reach over and stuff it in his backpack. Manager comped us for half our meal. Still waiting for the police.

Yelp
A piece of "gringolandia" has come to Chile! I was itching to watch some American football when visiting my husbands family for two weeks for the Christmas holiday. I was googling "sports bars" in Santiago and then it hit me! When I was flying first class back to Miami a few years ago I sat next to a woman whose son had just opened a sports bar and california style cantina in Providencia and that I should check it out. I googled "cantina california santiago" and what do ya know....California Cantina showed up! My husband and I to meet up with our Chileno friends and watch Monday night football. We arrived at 8:30 and the place was pretty packed! We managed to find a table in front of some TVs and ordered drinks "al tiro!" (right away). The cool thing about California Cantina is that they have happy hour all day on some days and Monday happened to be one of them. I asked for a sangria but they had already ran out so I then started off with pisco sour (only $2.85!!) and some cheese fries (the chiptole sauce on the side was awesome). After a few rounds of pisco sours I needed to satisfy my stomach with some more cali-mex, so I then ordered the quesadillas. Surprisingly, the quesadillas were big enough to share and delicioso!! The service was a bit "como la wevs" since it was extremly slow, but at least our waiter was really "simpatio y buena onda" (nice guy)! Overall, I had a good experience and next time I am in Chile (which will be next year), I will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Nice bar, great staff, very good burger. The owner, Danny, is very friendly and makes a point to make you feel welcomed. Nice choice of beers.

Yelp
Whenever I am feeling home sick, I go to California Cantina. As you walk in, you almost forget that you are in Chile. The bar is always filled with gringos and the atmosphere is very Baja California (with a bit of sports bar mixed in). I come here to watch any big sports events that might not typically been shown in a normal bar and you'll always find a big lively crowd to join you. California Cantina especially knows how to put on a great Superbowl filled with nachos, french fries and beer. This brings me to my last point, their french fries are mouthwateringly good! I believe they put chunks of parmesan and cilantro on them and oh man is it good! For any big event get there early as tables fill up quickly!

Yelp
Surprise super fun afternoon!! I stumbled on this place after exploring the drugstore shopping area and sculpture park nearby. It was the perfect place to sit outside and have an afternoon beer. The staff was super nice, we had fun joking around in spanglish and they gave me great beer and pizza reccs. The food was great!- not typical bar food. The owner, James, was around and sat and had a beer with me and told me all about moving to Chile and starting the place. He then game me a tour- the space is massive! I can imagine it's a great group spot in the evenings. He has clearly put his heart and soul into this business and genuinely cares that visiting folks eat, drink and be merry.

Yelp
I went there to watch a Chile game in football. The atmosphere was wild as it was full of locals supporting their nation. The food was good. I really enjoyed their burgers and fries, it was US standards. I tried the nacho as well, but it didn't hit the spot as much as the burger did. The service was a bit slow, I think it was because of the game that was on tv and it was super crowded. I definitely recommend it to go and eat a burger and in the same time have couple of drinks. They also have a good cocktail menu.

Yelp
What an amazing restaurant and bar!! It truly captures the look and feel of an authentic California Cantina. The staff made you feel like family the moment you walk in. The food is amazing! The fries are a must-have. I had the best karaoke experience ever!! All the groups that were there were cheering each other on and I got to learn a few new songs. What an experience. I will definitely come back.

Yelp
Great for football, not for food! An order of fries cost an equivalent of about $7 and not worth it. Nachos were with bagged chips and a sauce, not fresh cheese and not plentiful.

Yelp
Spent one of the worst nights of my life here - the night Donald was elected. The service was exceedingly bad, and slow. Big place.

Yelp
Great service. Great place to watch NFL games. Danny is the man. Indoor and outdoor seating

Yelp
This has always been my favorite place to come with friends, watch football, or just have a beer after work. However, I have to add that now they are doing fancy lunches with cute decorations and yummy seafood! Which now gives us an excuse to come for lunch meetings with clients. We had pastel de locos and it was delish as well as great customer service as always!

Yelp
Best American bar in Santiago. I came here during the world series to watch the games and the staff had no problem about changing the channel. Other bars in Santiago will not change the channel unless it's to watch soccer. I ordered a chicken wings entrance and a burger. The food was delicious. I will totally be heading back next time there is a game.

Yelp
Awesome customer service, music, food and crowd. I would definitely stop by again for Karaoke and Saturday dancing.

Yelp
The drinks were priced right and tasted great for Cinco De Mayo. I was nice to feel like I was at home. I wore my GDJ Chivas jersey there. No one knew the team, but cool, fun, place. If you need to hear some english, make sure to stop by, you will feel at home.

Yelp
Happening restaurant and bar, with great food and extensive beer offerings. With a mix of Chilean and American offerings, there is something for everybody, especially for us gringos who are longing for a taste of home.

Yelp
Great food, amazing friendly staff, and you can't beat a dance floor and karaoke! Had the best time here!

Yelp
Visited this place to watch Super Bowl 50, because it seemed as one of the few places to be able to watch the game here in Santiago. Made reservations a couple of days before the game which was quite easy to do, but when me and two other friends arrived and after making the line for people with reservations, one of the owners, starts questioning my and my friends about the table that had been assigned to us just a few minutes ago by one of the hostess. He was incredibly rude and unprofessional saying "whats your name? and lets see is you really have a reservation here" this all after going through the verification process in the front! After he was satisfied and verified, not at any point did he come by our table to apologize or admit he was wrong for questioning and yelling to us as if we somehow sneaked into the place. Totally unprofessional. As for the rest of the service, it was OK, nothing special. I will most definitively be looking for a different place next time my friends and I are looking for a sports bar.
