Such a cute place.. love the vintage touches. The chilequiles were different (stacked) yet amazing. They give you a little fruit bowl when you sit down. Recommend.

If I lived in Guadalajara I would be a regular at this place. We came here for dinner on our last night and we left with a memorable meal. The filete de res with poblano sauce was scrumptious. The salads too were unexpectedly good! The only thing I remembered to take a photo of was the date pie with espresso dulce de leche — a great way to end our meal. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating despite our limited Spanish. We will definitely be back here the next time we’re in Guadalajara!

Amazing. I am a huge sucker for breakfast and coffee, so I have been searching for a place to enjoy since arriving in Guadalajara. Nothing seemed to satisfy me, until now. I have spent years cooking and serving brunch in various restaurants, so it is a true pleasure to sit on the other side of the line and feel pride in another person's cooking, much less get to relax and eat it. I wanted to hug the chef. Iced coffee was smooth and well brewed, with a lime slice at the bottom which I thought was odd until I started sipping. The flower garnish pictured is my own, picked on my way, so don't expect it to be too frilly. It doesn't require extra dress- it's just damn good. Before receiving our order, they served up some sliced watermelon, bread, and sauces. Refreshing and satisfying as we waited, a touch that made our time that much more enjoyable. We ordered the Pochero(poached eggs over slightly spicy tomatillo salsa, crema, cotija, and beans, topped with crispy chopped bacon) and Chilaquiles Piquantes(traditional and incendiary). We enjoyed every bite, eggs were exceptionally poached, tortillas in the chilaquiles were resilient and crunchy, salsas were harmonious flavor combinations. Even basic elements such as beans were excellent, which goes to show true attention and care- a love of the communion that is food. Ambiance is somewhat kitschy cool, somewhat hipster punk, with antiques like sewing machines and hand crafted radio bars playing The Creation. Staff is equally cool, tattooed, and very friendly. Highly recommend.

Very hipster ambiance (there is no sign out front, artsy posters of obscure foreign films on the walls, and most of the clientele and staff are shod in Vans). As far as coffee goes, I only tried the Americano but neither the regular nor the extra strong versions were what I would call an exceptional cup of coffee. My general rule for mediocre coffee is that it is only acceptable if there's free refills (there aren't). The food is good and the portions are generous. I had the mollete bathed in salsa and topped with bacon and poached eggs. The oatmeal cookies are crispy not soft (not a criticism, just an observation).

I took myself out for brunch on Wednesday morning and it was the perfect time to go. It’s wasn’t too busy and I was able to relax, eat and do some reading. The staff were very nice and attentive and understanding of my limited Spanish. The food was great as well. The portions are large and the prices are more than reasonable. I’m sure I’ll be back during my time here in Guadalajara.

Small spot, but must visit. They host coffee from roaster Cafe Estelar, tried a single-origin Veracruz (v60). Perfectly poured, temperature, great extraction in oils. Tried tiramisu from SUSU, comes in a small glass glass. Perfect portion, great texture and flavors (not overly sweet). Creme brûlée, perfect top crust and crackle you search for. Will definitely be back when in town.

Exactly what I love in a coffee shop. Good coffee, happy service and amazing decor with three separate cosy areas (plus outside) to find “your spot”. Looove the plant filled window at the front.

Yelp
We were walking around the neighborhood near our AirBnB, initially disappointed that the cafe we were at the day prior was closed. But that turned out great when we walked by this quaint, zine inspired cafe with a great matcha latte, fresh squeezed orange juice and perfect crepe-like omelettes. Wished there was one of these back home!

Yelp
Best and Favorite spot in Guadalajara to eat -- friendly and cute staff and delicious affordable elevates cafe food for tourists but frequented by cool locals in the know ... plenty of veggie and even vegan options and of course meat for the omnivores. Notable is the sopa mijo (veggie avocado and panela cheese soup) and the amazing raviolis are all winners here! Came 3 times to eat here in the 7 days visiting so that tells you how good it truly is! Great music selection as well and cute, non-pretentious and inviting decor/atmosphere. Fresh ingredients and well curated choices plus the menus look like cute little zines. "Hipster" vibe but what does that word even mean anymore? There's no consensus on defining it but the verdict is in on Cafe Caligari and this food is BOMB DANK AMAZING! Buen provecho!

Yelp
This was a cute yuppie bistro style restaurant that was mainly focused on egg dishes. Mexican egg dishes that were modern fusion style and quite tasty. We had one server who spoke a bit of English and he was wonderful in assisting us with our order. To start of I loved the fresh squeezed orange juices and the rich flavors of the milk. I asked for and ordered the most popular dish, which consists of nacho chips and eggs covered in some amazingly flavorful gravy and topped with bacons. My bf had the second most popular item, which was their version of poached eggs covered in their flavorful gravy also topped with bacons. It was quite good and most interestingly unique in presentation. I personally loved the sauces that started the meals with some small pieces of bread most of all. The ambiance was great and quirky but I got eaten alive by mosquitoes while I was there. Good food but for Mexico I've had better meals for the same price range.

Yelp
Great place. The food is fresh and distinct. Highly recommend this place. Is not is the best location but is worth the trouble.

Yelp
Alright gringo, are you looking for super cool and unique experience in Guanatos City? Caligari is better than anything you will find on Chapultapec and is only a short walk away. I'm not ready to start talking about their food yet so let's talk ambiance; its retro. I think this place is a cross between mid-century and colonial. The architecture is definitely colonial and the neighborhood is super historic, but the design is a celebration of classic movies and pop culture that a lot of us have never seen before. I REALLY appreciate that they are willing to find out what is gluten free and what is not. The servers are pretty knowledgeable about what ingredients are hidden in their 'pay de datil' but the sincere and careful revision is thoroughly appreciated. These guys make a great cup of coffee. I usually get a french press, but the almond milk latte is awesome too. They have great quality beans and know where they come from. I am not 100% sure but I think that they do all their own roasting and some distribution too. You get 2 extra points for visiting on Sunday after riding your bike around the Via Recreactiva.
