"Calypso Thrill Deep within Grand Cayman, one finds another restaurant on the water. Be careful not to sit too close to the edge on the deck, however, the breeze might blow you right off. Inside the restaurant is a different story. All the tables and chairs are close together, making your dining experience intimate yet open to that of your neighbor and you can’t help smiling at those sitting next to you. Written on a savvy chalkboard one finds the specials of the day, of which you will find rarities like chicken liver pate and ceviche. The food is fantastic and the drinks are phenomenal. I personally recommend anything with mango in it. Once you’re good and full it almost feels necessary to sit and talk with the wait staff before leaving. The close knit environment makes it all the more friendly. Calypso Grill is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Grand Cayman and I definitely recommend it to seafood lovers or just food lovers in general. By Nicole Burgess"

This may be the best restaurant that Grand Cayman has to offer. The ambience of the small hut with open walls next to the peer was just relaxing. I cannot remember our servers name (he was Italian) but the service he and the owner provided was nothing but great. The bread and Piña Colada were a good starter. The conch fritters, salt fish fritters, and coconut shrimp were great. The entrees which was the grilled mahi mahi and fish n chips was absolutely amazing! Finally, the desert which was the sticky toffee pudding was delicious as well. Overall the atmosphere was relaxing, the service was spot on, and the food was soothing to the soul.

Our family had the most amazing dinner here on Easter Sunday, so good in fact that we came back a second time! The food was fresh, presented beautifully and tasted amazing. And you HAVE to save room for the sticky toffee pudding, trust me!! Also, the service was top notch…whether it was refilling a water glass, checking in to see if we needed anything and providing an appropriate pacing between our appetizers and entrées. The setting is also charming inside and out. If you want to have a delicious meal don’t hesitate to book a reservation.

Spectacular location right on the water with a great breeze flowing through the entire restaurant. Reservations not required, but recommended if you want to sit on the patio. Menu presented on a chalk board and our server provided ample details. The food was amazing and we spent well over two hours without any pressure.

One of the gems on the island. Fresh seafood with romantic sunset dinner views. Menu seems to be constantly changing except for a few staple dishes. Grilled mahi was immaculate but everything was super fresh. Save room for the sticky toffee pudding for dessert.

I went there for a weekday dinner. Quite pricey for the type and quality of the food they serve. Ricotta gnocci was great, but the crab linguini was disappointing. Also, the sticky toffee pudding was a bit too sweet for me, but I can see how some people may like it. However, the ambience is very nice. It's suitable for date night or a family dinner. Most people sat outdoor for dinner since the breeze is nice and cool.

Dark woods, pastel colors, alfresco dining with epic waterviews, Calypso is indeed a destination. In terms of decor, feels colonial old world inside, contrasted by dramatic and intimate seating outdoors. Its both comfortable, and welcoming. Highly trained, and affable waitstaff add to the ambience, being both efficient and attentive, but not intrusively so, it manages to find that just right sweet in servicing the customer.. The diverse menu will be sure to entertain any palate, as it locally inspired, decadently executed, awash in freshness, both in terms of product and haute cuisine. Should you partake in the spirit world, an extensive wine list awaits you, in addition to full bar service, so order at your leisure. Calypso is a leisurely dining experience, well adept in its craft, affirming its place as a West Bay stand out.

Lovely place ! We had the seafood saffron stew. They were accommodating enough to substitute mussels for extra shrimp. I had the blackened fish... It was good but a little dry.

Our first dinner out on Grand Cayman. I visited this restaurant twenty years ago and it is still an island favorite. The location is superb though the narrow parking lot in the Stay Left cars is fear inducing. We dined outside, with the bright taste of salt in the air and a muted breeze reduced by well positioned plexiglass. Extensive menu and the waiters bring over these huge chalk boards describing all the options. Twenty years ago and now, still the Very Best Dessert in the Island. Sticky Toffee Pudding. Also great mocktail options. I loved the snapper but found the soup I had as an appetizer to have the taste and consistency of Campbells tomato soup. Julie had her favorite meal of the week. A ricotta stuffed long noodle of pasta. Mom wasn’t sure her fish was what she ordered. So a little hit or miss. We arrived close to opening time without a reservation. Then this place just completely filled up. It’s lively, energetic. Lots of conversations all about but outdoors the breeze carries everything off into the night.
