Calypso plage Lou Santen

We tried to eat at this restaurant twice, 4 adults and 3 children under 8 years old, the first day (08.08.2025) when we arrived at 16.15 and they told us that they would no longer serve us because it closes at 16.00, and today (11.08.2025) we went at 15.15 and they did not serve us for no reason, they simply told us the kitchen was closed! I find it disrespectful and I decided to write this review so that you too can find out that for them customers are not important at all, especially since there were 3 children after us! incredible....

Stern, abrupt waiting staff make what ought to be a pleasant beach side eatery quite unrelaxing. We asked for water for our baby on a swelteringly hot day and despite other diners being offered tap water we were made to pay for mineral water as we were drinking only.

This place is a rip-off. I ordered a dish of clams for €16. When the dish arrived, I counted 15 tiny little shellfish. Which works out at €1 per clam. The chips, which normally are included with mussels and other such dishes, came at an additional price of €4. On top of this the service was appalling. In short -a place to avoid.

Unbelievable unfriendly. We only ordered two coffee in the beginning and have therefore been harshly asked to leave (give up the table). Never ever again.

Rude waitresses, not a word in English, struggled to even order an ice coffee (which was terrible), we had to remind them 3 times and they were not busy. Avoid!

Great little beach bar and restaurant, very friendly, exceptional service. Good authentic, no nonsense food and economic prices. Definitely the best and most original bar on the beach.
