Cambodia Landmine Museum

To visit a memorial site like this in this part of the world can be moving and sad beyond words but it's important that what this country and it's people have suffered and endured is remembered. Aki Ra (the founder) has a very important story to tell. The entry fee helps the orphaned children of Cambodia. Please visit and you will not only appreciate what this incredible man has done by changing his life but the lives of many others.

We went out of season, so there were no classes or demonstrations. That said, the video and written explanations say enough. This place, and the other charities they promote are absolutely core to making Cambodia safe again. There are still in excess of 2 million landmines in the country, and thats before you get to the ordnance left by the USA, which multiplies the indiscriminate murder machines. Go, get educated, maybe repent.

This is an informative place to learn the impact of landmines on the country and in fact world wide. This is a private collection and has a lot of exhibits. Definitely recommend spending time here and reading/looking at the displays. Good start to the day before heading off to some of the temples close by. A wonderfully educational experience. The cost has gone up to $6 a person but it feels more like a contribution to a worthy cause than an entry fee. A rather humbling and inspiring place.

A bit far from the city, but definitely worth visiting. Small, but very interesting place full of information describing tragic events of recent Cambodian history. Also it's an important center of help for demining and local community

The museum tells you the sad history of Cambodia, especially the one after the 1970s during the Vietnam war when they were also bombed along their neighbors. The museum was created to create awareness of the thousands of landmines still active in the country.

Interesting and sobering place. Very basic and now appears run down. Good to see the money is still going towards removing the millions of remaining mines in Cambodia. Combine with a trip to the butterfly sanctuary and stop at a big temple right on the road at sunset when you come home. Pass many markets and see rural life in Cambodia. Take a TukTuk, only 45 mins from city centre.

This is a must see. The man who started this museum has stuck up over 50,000 land mines personally. He worked both for the kymer rouge as well as for peace to try to make Cambodia free of landmines. Please support this man and his work it's really vital. Many of the minds that were there by the millions were actually American.
