Cambria Hotel Chicago Loop - Theatre District

Property was clean and modern in appearance, both in public areas and rooms. Extremely well located near many dining & entertainment options as well as both the blue & red lines to the airports or other attractions. Being in a historic building was also a plus, and the incorporation of local art, murals & photos in both the public areas and rooms made for an immersive experience, especially for someone who had never visited the city before. Bar & restaurant had friendly service and good food if you don’t care to venture out, and the Bluetooth enabled bathroom mirror was just plain fun.||The only slight knock was the thinness of the doors & walls; the property can be somewhat noisy, especially when combined with the street noise. Other than that, I would have no hesitation to stay again when next in town.

We had a wonderful stay at the Cambria. We stayed for 5 nights and the staff was outstanding. Wanted to give a shout out to La Trice the front desk supervisor. She is a fantastic employee. Her sense of humor making you feel so welcome at check in really started out our week long stay on the right foot. We made a point of saying hello each day she was as working. We can’t wait to return and stay again with La Trice and the rest of the staff.

This place is awesome! We really don't understand the negative comments. The hotel is VERY clean, modern, but yet holds onto some great past architecture. The staff is AWESOME as well. We have had zero issues. We come to Chicago sometimes a couple of times a year. We would come back anytime without hesitation 😊

We can highly recommend the Cambria Hotel in Chicago. We stayed on December 31st and checked out on January 1st. We attended the Teatro Zinzani dinner/show in the hotel on the 14th floor. The show was very very good; and the dinner was excellent.|In the hotel itself our room was spectacular. Immaculately clean, so comfortable, and every amenity anyone could want: coffee maker, iron/ironing board, refrigerator, microwave, light up bath mirror, thermostat for adjusting the heating, window shade, laminate floor, plenty of extra pillows. |At the door security firmly in place, especially James. At check-in, the most patient, professional, cheerful and knowledgeable lovely lady Ms. K. Baker. |What a good idea I had to spend New Years Eve at the Cambria Hotel. There was fresh hot free coffee in the 9th floor restaurant area, and our check-out was smooth and quick. |The beautiful renovations in the hotel are awesome and breath-taking. I will surely stay there again when I need a downtown Chicago hotel.

We stayed in December 2024 for the Christkindlemarkt. The location is perfect for that event! We also attended A Christmas Carol at the Goodman theater around the corner. This is a great place to stay for location, for walking, ease of using the trains, visiting the former Marshall Fields store and restaurants. The price is great, the rooms are very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the restaurant one evening and enjoyed walking up the street to other restaurants. The Corner Bakery for breakfast is very close by. We would stay here again. They are the goat hotel for the Christmas Market and we really enjoyed just walking across the street for that.

Had an absolutely great experience . Really can’t get over how friendly and welcoming the staff are. I would like say James (security) at the front lobby door does an amazing job and goes out of his way to strike up a conversation and make sure you feel welcomed and appreciated. Very good person and enjoyed my conversations about both college and pro football. Between him and the young Hispanic lady (I meant to ask her name but forgot) at the front desk I would say you guys are doing a fantastic job at evaluating genuinely good people for you employees. Both are people/people and make it very easy to talk to. They both are doing a great job making your customers feel very comfortable and at home. Again great trip.

The rooms are just ok. The pictures are pretty deceiving, making them look much bigger and nicer than they are. The floors didn't feel clean so we asked them to please mop when they came for cleaning service and they did not. We were also told they would clean our room every other day and they skipped over our room. When we called to ask about it they didn't make it right. They just brought us new towels. The one day they did come as scheduled to clean I asked the house keeper if she could wait just a moment as my husband was in the bathroom and she was very rude in her response. Horrible customer service. Pretty crappy considering the price of these rooms. I had better service at a Motel 6. Avoid this hotel if possible. The door guys at the entrance were always really nice but that's about it.

I was hesitant after some reviews, but for heading to theatre in Chicago this will be my go-to hotel! The location is ideal, the staff were friendly, and my room was great. I had a double queen room which was quite spacious, clean, comfortable beds - sure slept well with the extra blackout curtain. There is a nice desk area with a keurig and the walk-in shower had great pressure even on the 15th floor. I felt safe with the elevator requiring the key card to access the floor.

The location of Cambria Hotel is excellent. Taking the train in it's only a few blocks north on Randolph to get to the hotel. You have a Walgreens at the one corner, a Zara on the other and a Macy's on the third corner. Talk about convenience. When you enter they have security at the door and you'll take the elevator up to the 9th floor for the hotel lobby. That's also where the restaurant and bar are located. Check in was a breeze and even though I was an hour early they had my room ready. As an extra level of security you'll need a key card to get up to the guest rooms. The guest rooms are no frills but have everything you'll need for a comfortable stay. I was happy to see they had a Keurig coffee maker, a microwave and a fridge. The bathroom was a good size and the mirror was Bluetooth so you could listen to your tunes while getting ready. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. My only complaint was there was no comforter on the bed and it got a little cold at night. For the price and location Cambria can't be beat!

Overall, a solid stay with a great location in the city. We were easily able to walk to many locations, or public transportation was just a few minutes walk away. We enjoyed the amenities in the room and being able to have both a microwave and mini fridge for leftovers after delicious meals in the city. We did notice after a day or two some areas of the room that needed a deeper cleaning (under the bathroom vanity, looked like coffee had been previously spilled on a wall etc.) but nothing was a dealbreaker or major red flag. We didn't request housekeeping during our stay as we were only there three nights. Overall, not a bad stay in the city in terms of price or location.

I was very impressed by this hotel. The location in the theatre district is ideal, next to a Garrett's popcorn and across the street from the Block 37 mall. I didn't realize it was only a few blocks of Michigan Ave, and a very short walk to the Chicago river walkway. The lobby is located on the 9th floor. I arrived around 4:30pm and it was very quite. There is a bar/restaurant, grab & go food/drinks available to purchase, and seating areas located on this floor. The room was a standard room with 2 queen beds. There was a small couch, table, desk area with chair, microwave, kurig machine with coffee and tea pods, and somewhat hidden mini fridge. The room itself was much larger than I anticipated with a decent size flat-screen tv. The bathroom had plentiful counterspace, and the shower was quite large... 4 people could probably fit in the shower. The bedding was very thin and the room temperature was either cold or hot, seemingly no in-between. I get so hot sleeping at night so I did not mind that it was on the cool side. The kurig machine was not very clean and I chose not to use it. Overall, it was a great stay for the price and location. If you drive, I highly recommend pre-purchasing parking through SpotHero or Block 37 website (and then patron a business or two before/after your stay). Parking rates were $21-25 when pre-purchasing versus $45+ upon arrival.

This hotel is located in the theater district in downtown Chicago. Nice room. It had a fridge and microwave. On the 2nd day there was black stuff coming out of the sink. They said all of the rooms had this same issue and should be resolved. The hallway and elevator had no a/c so it was very hot in those areas. We requested maid service to replace towels and take out trash but that was never done. It is not a horrible hotel but the price you pay for the hotel, the service should be a lot better.

Cambria Hotel Chicago Loop - Theatre District is a nice hotel in the Loop of Downtown Chicago. You are right next door to the James M. Neederlander Theatre - home to a ton of musical performances like Wicked. The hotel itself is nice, the hotel room is clean and there's a decent amount of amenities like a game room in the hotel, a snack bar in the lobby and a bar and restaurant on the same floor. The room view isn't really that great it's just of the street below the hotel. The building is pretty secure, you must scan your room key to get into the building and to go in any part of the elevator/floors. The price was also reasonable for downtown Chicago - I'd recommend a visit here if you want to stay somewhere in the city.

Neat boutique hotel with a non-traditional lobby. It's found on the ninth floor! Located in the heart of Downtown Chicago, it's the perfect location for sightseeing, shopping and good eats. It's steps from a mall, The Dearborn, the MJ Broadway production, and minutes from the ABC studios. Short walk to the Chicago Cultural Center and the famous "Bean". This place is centrally located. Was the perfect hotel for a few days of touring Chicago. The desk clerks and staff were always warm and welcoming. The bar and Cafe on the lobby floor was very spacious. They even had table games available where the lounge area was. Small marketplace for midnight munchies and snacks or if you forgot your toothbrush and floss, it's also there for sale. Security guard posted at the door, 24/7, so we felt safe coming in and out throughout our stay. It was odd not seeing the traditional first floor check in but it was fine. The hotel boasts a game room and gym. Very nice areas for both. We were in both places daily during our stay. The billiards could use more chalk and new sticks but it was fine for our entertainment. Room was spacious for four of us and the closet was big. Our room had a couch and desk area to relax. Just like every hotel though, there's never enough hooks for a party of four but thankfully, they had hooks outside the bathroom by the closet. And inside the bathroom, there was a long towel rack and under the sink storage. I would totally recommend this location.

I stayed 4 nights here during a very busy holiday weekend. The cushioned seat next to the desk under the tv was dirty, it looked like some type of food was in between the cushion and the side of desk. Also, the blackout curtain rod/chain loop was broken and not working properly. We called to the front desk to request a new room, but they said they were booked for the weekend. They offered to send someone up to fix it, but they couldn't fix it. The manager only offered one night refunded in points since the room was booked used points. Although the room was dirty all 4 days and the curtains were inoperable.

Wow all I can say is wow! Cambria exceeded my expectations. From the amazing shower to the most comfy bed I've slept in-in a while. I try to always book Choice Hotels and sometimes the quality is hit or miss but I'm excited to write this review and mention how amazing my experience was. The front door staff became my recommendation team. I was pointed to good seafood that I enjoyed thoroughly and great breakfast! There's so much more I can mention in this post but I'll leave it at the fact this remodeled hotel is literally in the heart of everything and located in the theatre district, central to everything. Please give James at the front door a raise, he's honest and gives great food and restaurant recommendations. Exactly what I expected from Chicagoans. Can't wait to return.

We recommend this hotel because it is centrally located in the Loop; easy access to public transportation; clean rooms; security was good and friendly service. Would return to this hotel.

The Hotel is located Downtown Chicago and the staff is amazing! Walking distance to all the awesome live theatre's and across the street from Block 37. Around the corner from State Street the Great Street and ABC 7 Studios! Macy's is near even tho I truly miss Marshall Fields which I worked there in 1984 Water Tower! I was born and raised in Chicago and it's one of the Greatest Cities in the World!

We stayed at Cambria last week for a couple nights due to its location to the Chicago Theatre. We were pleasantly surprised at our experience. First, the location is fabulous. Second, James, the doorman, was as nice as could be. I love that this hotel has security. Third, friendly reception staff. I forgot my toothbrush, and they supplied a complementary one. Four, clean and modern room with Bluetooth capabilities and fast Wi-Fi. There's also a microwave, Keurig and refrigerator in the room, too. One negative is there wasn't enough regular coffee stocked in the room and I had to ask for more. Luckily, I found, a gentleman in the hallway with a housekeeping cart. The bed is comfortable with lots of pillows. I wish the room had a dresser to store folded clothes. Just a closet. I also would like a safe in the room to store, jewelry and important items that you don't want to be left out in the room. I've never run into a hotel that didn't have a safe in the room. Luckily, the elevators were working the days we were there, so no issues. There was a bar and a restaurant on the floor where reception is. We had a drink at the bar, but didn't eat at the restaurant. Across from the front desk, there is a variety of items you can buy from ice cream and snacks to frozen meals that you could cook in the microwave in your room. Nice for a late night snack. I would definitely stay here again.

Location wise this hotel is great. However, we had multiple issues during our stay. First, we were missing the comforter on one of our beds. When one of us went down to explain that we were missing the comforter (the thickest blanket of course) the person at the front desk didn't understand? Not sure why they wouldn't even try to understand? Ended up just giving us a spare thin blanket which really did nothing. So not a very pleasant sleeping experience. Secondly, the bathroom door is one that slides, so you can literally hear EVERYTHING that people are doing in the bathroom. No privacy at all. And at night, when you get up to use the bathroom, the light is so bright because the glass in the door is only frosted, so it wakes everyone up. And then there's a closet in the main room which you cannot control the light. So you open it, and the light automatically comes on. Unfortunately, it would turn on randomly in the middle of the night and blind us all!! You can also hear everyone's conversations out in the hall, and when they slam doors at all hours. Very annoying. AND our toilet had continuous issues. Would keep running and wouldn't flush right. Lastly, we came back to the hotel in the afternoon and they were hosting some kind of event. So they had blocked off elevators for guests and they had one open to the side for the event. Well everyone was waiting in line for the event and there were five of us needing to get up to the hotel, one of which was very sick. She needed up ASAP, due to her health issues. The lady directing the lines said that guests would be next, and since we're staying in the hotel, as guests, we thought that was us. So the elevator opened and we started to go for it, only for the lady to stop us. She said "Be patient." Um, EXCUSE ME?! You JUST said something very misleading and didn't even say 'please' be patient?! Didn't even acknowledge that you told us the wrong thing, or specify which 'guests' in particular were going next? We also should not have to wait like that to get into the hotel we paid $1200 to stay in!! Pretty sure she wanted to be petty, because when the other elevator FINALLY came down, people came out, and instead of holding it the elevator for us, she just let it start to close!! Even though she was RIGHT THERE. Luckily, one of us was able to grab it and stop it right before it could go back up. We were all shocked at what just happened. Who treats hotel guests like that?! Never EVER staying again. Awful experience.

Such a great choice for a hotel in this district. From the doorman to the front desk, all of the staff were polite, helpful, and gracious. Old world exteriors and elevators mix with the modern that Cambria is known for. Super comfy beds with super comfy pillows. Reasonable price for Chicago area. I was in an accessible room. All of the things you would expect are there including a fold down shower seat and plenty of grab bars. My only complaint was the distance from the elevator to the room and from the elevator to the check in desk. Keep in mind if this is something you need. To the staff that might read this: I'm really sorry for blowing up my oatmeal in the microwave. To anyone that reads this: the staff is really gracious when you tell them you plugged up the sink when you tried to clean up oatmeal out of the microwave. I did not think it all the way through.

The rooms are very nice however there is no door or shower curtain for the shower and no big trashcans which made things annoying. The doorman was very nice everytime we came in. The elevators take forever however and the breakfast was very expensive and they ran out of basically everything on their menu while we were there. The restraunt staff also forgot my side everytime I asked for one. The cleaning staff did a great job with our room when they came in and the TV is very nice.

3.5 stars My staycation was booked because it's proximity to our dinner show Luminaire which is on 14th floor I've toured this hotel before during a sneak peek for an event. So I knew the layout ,the hotel was clean adequate for a night. No more than that When do you get a single room which I thought said King maybe I was incorrect but definitely was not a king size bed. It was queen at best. The view we had was pretty much was for the front of the hotel. If you are at the hotel to actually get some sleep unless you're a very hard sleeper which I am not, I need pretty much silenced to sleep. This is not the hotel for you. You hear the traffic you hear the drummers on the street. You hear ambulance sirens you hear people in the hotel slamming doors and the elevator. You hear people taking a shower. You hear people's cell phone ringing. And the room is small. You have the bed have a table and a little bench. I'll make sure you bring you some glasses if you want to have drinks in your room. They do have some plastic cups but I wanted something a little bit fancier. The room does have a microwave and the refrigerator which is kind of hard to find downtown hotels. So that was a plus. Towels were a big situation. They only were giving body towels and not really a face towel I called for more towels never came. I asked for a toothbrush. never came. When I checked down I made sure to mention that I was displeased but I know I was going to make a review and make note of it. So if you need these things I suggest you get it when you check in. Price was good . I saw if you are going to the play you need to take the elevator down to the first floor. Get off and get on an express elevator back up to the 14th floor

Really enjoyed my stay at the Cambria Hotel. I flew in to O'Hare and was able to take the train. The train has a stop right next to the hotel which I loved. The elevators were working during my stay. The staff was very helpful and friendly when I interacted with them. The hotel room was clean and spacious. I didn't have a chance to utilize the gym or eating area but both appeared to look very nice. Overall my stay was pleasant and I felt safe traveling solo.

Ugh.... Location, location, location. That what they say. I can't say much more. Well this hotel is in a prime location for what I needed. That part was great. First time at ann Cambria. Checkin went fine...... I came in the room and had to leave very quickly for a work event, so I would have to check the room out later. Got back to the room before a late dinner engagement and I saw what looked to be part of a candy wrapper and a sticky surface on the window sill. I immediately went to check out the bathroom and bed. The bathroom seemed ok, but you don't want "ok". It didn't look like it was cleaned with great detail. The tp wasn't neatly folded over, but I didn't know it they do that here. There was only 1 face cloth, which I thought was weird, but I've never been here, so whatever. The bed looked fine, sweet. But then I got to the night stand and see a pair of fake eyelashes sitting there.... Bruh..... Hell nah... I got to the front desk, and they were nice enough, but told me that housekeeping is gone until early morning and they cannot move me due to the capacity since conventions in town (which I was part of). They did tell me they would refund a few bucks back to the credit card. But that did me NO GOOD, since my room was paid for by my company. I was going to ask for meal credit or something, but again, for the 4 day stay, I have company dinners. Oh well.... I woke up in the morning feeling sick. Not terrible, but a sore throat. I asked the hotel to make sure my room is clean when I returned from the convention. When I got back in the afternoon, yes, the room was clean, but guess who was legit sick by then..... Yep, I had Covid. 2 years Covid free, and then this. 3 of the 5 co-workers staying here caught Covid. I'm secluded in my hotel room until fever gone. Trip ruined. Can I say the hotel was to blame? No. But I cannot say they weren't either. Because they obviously DID NOT clean my room well before giving me the keys. I can't stay here again. Makes me nervous about any Cambria now.

This hotel is centrally located in downtown Chicago. Clean room nice quiet hotel. Great place to stay. Staff was attentive and very easy to deal with. I would recommend this hotel when you're in the area.

Can't really beat the location if you want to get the city experience. The room was clean. That's about all I have to say for the pro's. If good customer service isn't important to you then you won't mind this hotel. It is important to me, especially on this trip because I was hosting guests and wanted to impress them. I was appalled at how rude 90% of the staff was. Before coming I read reviews on how nice the doorman is and when I asked him how his night is going he gave me a confused, dirty look and a short answer. Just one of the many interactions that made me regret booking this hotel. The staff was unorganized and payment was a hassle. I don't want to write a whole novel even though I could. The manager took a night's stay off of my total for the inconvenience.

Clean. But quite bizarre. Giant room, laminate floors, very loud (both water from toilets flushing and from being close to the street without much sound barrier), odd furniture--half a modular couch that was stained with bleach, a giant TV over a bench, all furniture was pushed up against the wall, the windows looked out at lit up shops and billboards and there was just a roller shade that was translucent and no curtains--it was tricky to fall asleep and loud. A place to sleep, it had gratis internet, it's in a convenient location, but I wouldn't recommend it or go back.

Stayed here during Lollapalooza cuz we were willing to pay a premium to not have to deal with traffic. Pretty solid hotel all around. Staff was super friendly. There's a bar in the lobby (which is on the 9th floor). There's a small-ish gym on the 10th floor (which has a water cooler, that we frequented cuz we were staying on the floor). The rooms are all alright, but the corner room was way bigger, with a couch. The staircases are depressing and look super shady though. But smell like popcorn cuz of the Garrett Popcorn downstairs.

No alarm clock, no hand soap, but a bluetooth bathroom mirror? Priorities people. Get it together.

We did not have the best service. Customer service was lacking during the stay. The room was lovely, but cleanliness was less than desirable. All of these items were addressed and compromises were reached. The location is wonderful to what we needed. After the management truly listening to our complaints and addressing each one, I would stay here, again, if needed.

Be careful when booking this hotel. The elevators are constantly broken. We had to walk up 18 flights of stairs to get to our hotel room, or wait 30 + minutes to use the single working elevator. Working elevators stop every 3 floors, wait about 5 seconds, then continue up. We're on the 18th floor, so it takes forever. This is when there isn't a line to get into the elevators. The security guard up front has no idea what to do. Even when another worker told him to allow passengers to use the staff elevator, he claimed he wasn't allowed to. Front desk says there's nothing they can do. "Elevators are slow." Other staff also completely ignore us and pretend we don't exist. A sweet old lady tried to ask someone a question, and the staff member stood there pretending not to hear. She completely avoided eye contact. TL:DR Great location, but broken elevators make this hotel miserable. Some staff think ignoring guests and not making eye contact will make the question go away.

I had a 4 night stay at this hotel back in December and it was a very pleasant experience. The room was nice and clean and pretty modernized. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The shower had good water pressure. The room also had its own microwave and refrigerator that worked very well. The room I had also had an abundance of outlets and USB ports, which was very convenient especially with where they were placed. The Wi-Fi also surprised me, as it was VERY fast! This is the first hotel I've stayed in that had WiFi speeds over 200mbps and capping out at 500mbps! This hotel is near a lot of shops, restaurants and travel options. You're within a short walking distance from Macy's and Walgreens, a block away from Target, a bunch of restaurants, and conveniently located around all of the CTA train lines, most notably, the Washington Station on the Blue Line, Lake Station on the Red Line, and State/Lake Station on the Green, Brown, Pink, Purple and Orange lines. You're also nearby several bus lines on State Street and Dearborn Street as well. You're also a short walk from the Chicago Theater, and a less-than 5 minute walk from Millennium Park. I arrived at the hotel at noon and was greeted by the front desk staff. I was allowed an early check-in thankfully. The hotel staff was very nice and courteous. This Hotel also has its own bar and restaurant, but I didn't check it out. There's also a $75 deposit required upon check-in. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who can get it at a good rate. You're close to a lot of necessities and attractions. It is definitely a great place to stay at!

Affordable, clean and convenient. Only two real complaints - the walls are paper thin so you hear everything and the bathroom door is "barn style," meaning it just slides and never fully closes or locks. The ladies in our party did not like this - especially combined with the tissue paper walls. Make sure to use the room blinding shade if you have a window next to the parking garage.

One of the biggest pros of this hotel is the location. Not only is it centrally located and walkable to lots of shopping, but we came to Chicago to see Wicked and you could not beat the two-doors-down proximity to the theater. Another pro is that the staff was kind and accommodating. Also, the Bluetooth mirror in the bathroom was a fun feature. A couple of cons: our shower was basically like a locker room, just tile and a flimsy curtain that didn't reach the floor, so water went everywhere and made the bathroom incredibly slippery. And our 9th floor room looked directly into a parking ramp. Not exactly the best view. And finally, the beds didn't have any sort of blanket or comforter on them. Instead, it was just two top sheets put together, which made for a chilly night.

When I walked in it was a cute room and I had high expectations. However, I was not impressed with the cleanliness or service. I first noticed that the bathroom didn't have all of the typical toiletries. Then, when I pulled down my comforter at night, there were several hairs on the bed. Gross! I called down to the front desk and said I wanted my bed remade. A guy came up and knocked on my door and handed me a stack of sheets. Really?! You want to put me in a room with hair on the bed and expect me to remake it myself?! Based on my reaction, he said he would come back with some help and they did remake the bed. I stayed two nights and on the second day, I did have more toiletries in my room. It made me wonder if maybe my room wasn't even made up the first day or something.

This was a lovely location right in the Theater District ... location was so good we didn't have to use public transportation or Ubers. Everything was in walking distance that we wanted to do. Several good restaurants nearby. We had Hamilton tickets and we walked there for the show. There's actually a theater production in the hotel. The lobby is on the 9th floor which is a bit unusual. You can always tell when people are just getting their for the first time because they walk in looking very confused. When we arrived the ballet people weren't even there so we had to figure it out on our own. The lobby is actually on the 9th floor. We ask for a upper level room to help with Street noise and that did the trick. Slept great room was quiet and comfortable. As with most inner city hotels it was smaller than typical. But well-thought-out and appointed and I like the decor. The room had diffuse lighting which I liked and something about the bathroom was would link to Wi-Fi and play music. The shower only had half a shower door which is a bit unusual. I like that it had a small refrigerator and microwave. My husband had to be at work in a suburb of Chicago and then be there the following week so he was just going to stay the weekend in downtown Chicago. Is company graciously paid for our hotel so this was a fairly cheap little weekend getaway. He went through one of those discount hotel place online and got a great rate 130 something. We violate our car and even though we stayed two nights the only charges for one I assume because we got there so late in the day for the first day. But that was nice that they did that. Hotel does have a restaurant and Bar even though we didn't give it a try. Have the best brunch within walking distance of the hotel. If you look up brunches it'll be obvious they have a bazillion reviews. Their Berry French toast was amazing. There was a wait so go ahead and check in through Yelp save yourself some waiting. Anyway was a great weekend away. I gather the usual price of the hotel is closer to 250 ... so we were really lucky to get such a great rate

Once you get past the entrance and gloomy lobby and into your room, it's a really nice place. It appears to be renovated and has a stylish modern boutique ambience. Not sure if the valet person in front of hotel is associated with hotel... attendant was on his phone and didn't engage. Good air conditioning-definately needed in the muggy summer weather and comfy bed. Got into the room and it was 75 degrees initially but cooled down shortly. No bottled water in the room so you'll need to purchase some on the 9th floor where checkin is. Maybe there's a vending machine near ice, tbd. Bar is on the 9th floor too, creepy quiet yet sleek, lol. Shower water is weeeaaaak (eco friendly purposes?) and doesn't really get hot. I was so cold, especially since it's an open concept shower. I kept finding lots of "personal" hair from previous guests all over the bathroom, ew! But I get it, it's a public space with ppl in and out. Overall, great location and nice quiet spot.

My wife and I stayed here the evening before and two nights after our elopement. As others have mentioned, the location was incredible. We got married at city hall and being just two blocks away from marriage court was a major draw for us. Pros: - We received a corner room which was shockingly quiet considering the hotel is in the heart of the theater district. Only sirens came through, which was expected. - The room was HUGE and allowed our makeup and hair artist to work with us the morning of the wedding and for us to get dressed in separate spaces. - The bed was big, and there was more than enough surface space (dressers, counters, tables, etc.) to spread out over three days. Cons: - As other have said, the shower was door-less, which was bizarre and unpleasant. A lot of water got onto the floor no matter where the shower head was, and if either of us opened the bathroom door, we were met with a cold gust of wind--while showering! - The bedding was thin and left us chilly many nights. - The entire room was laminate/hardwood which I imagine is easier to clean, but sound--including the TV and the HVAC unit--echoed a LOT. Overall, a decent place to stay in the heart of the Loop; could do with a few upgrades to make it feel truly luxurious.

Perfect location if you want to explore the city. Super clean and organized rooms. I love the wood flooring and the colors in the room help with relaxing. The bed was extremely comfortable. Front desk workers are nice and they were quick when we needed towels and TP. We didn't get a chance to check out the game room although it looked fun. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a staycation or if you're from out of town like us.

It was perfectly adequate. No daily room cleaning. The floor in the bathroom was dirty when I arrived, the coffee maker didn't work, and the soap dispenser was empty in the shower.

The hotel is nice and the bar area is great but we asked for room service and never received it.

Well I'll agree the location was great, right in the theatre district with restaurants close by. That was the highlight of our 3 night stay. For the hotel itself, not so great. When we arrived we were given a nice size room. The next morning when I went to take a shower, I noticed the shower curtain was only half the size it should be so water was running on the floor. When I hung the wet washcloth on the towel rod, the rod fell off! After speaking w/the manager, we chose to change our room the next day. The room we were given was half the size which was very disappointing but we stayed in it anyway. The small table in the room was jammed between the coach and the nightstand so we decided to move it to the only other space in the room. After picking it up, the table top came off and we grabbed it before it fell to the ground. 2 screws also came off. Now to the bar. They only have one bartender on the weeknights so she closes at 9:30 or whenever she feels like it. Has no backup. People coming in after 9:30 wanted to have a cocktail but she was closing. This hotel needs maintenance and more staff.

If I could give this Cambria Hotel in the Theater District a 4.5-star rating? I totally would. I highly recommend this hotel and would certainly stay here again. The Cambria Hotel in the Theater District is conveniently located... not just for plays/shows, which are so close by, but also because of the convenience of the blue and red line stops close by (which I relied on heavily while adventuring all around Chicago). You get to the hotel and check-in via the main desk on the 9th floor, all with staff that's wonderfully courteous and helpful. The hotel is very clean, well-organized, and well-stocked with various amenities (including a little "grocery corner" across from the main desk and where you can buy drinks, snacks, and various odds and ends). I stayed for three nights and found the room to be wonderfully comfortable for staying those couple nights. The bed and linens were all clean and comfortable as well, and the room was spacious (I had one of the larger king rooms). The additional tidbits that helped the room feel more luxurious also included the buttons on the bathroom room where you could adjust the backlight - or even use bluetooth. Nice little bonus options right there! TL;DR For the price, and in a city like Chicago, I would certainly recommend this hotel. SUPER comfortable... and great location!

We really enjoyed our stay here at the Cambria hotel during the 3 days we were in Chicago. The hotel is very nicely done - it's modern and the place is relatively new. Overall staff was friendly. There is valet parking downstairs for $67/day with in and out privileges. Or if you dont' mind doing a bit of extra work, park across the street or around the corner in the self parking lots for about $47-48 per day. Since it's self parking you can still take the car out and then drive back in the evening if you want so it's still a cheaper option than Valet. The hotel lobby is on the 9th floor so you do have to go up to check in first (and not the ground floor). There are quite a few floors and I really liked the security in that once you check in, you can only go to your floor with your key card. The rooms are nice and big. I was surprised at how roomy it was! Lots of space to put out luggage and still have a pathway to walk. They also have a bench next to the desk to open up luggage. Full length mirror in the hallway - only thing is no plug so i can't do my hair there. The bathroom is very nice. I love the indirect lighting! The lights come from the back of the mirror, and i love that it's white light so it's easier to do makeup and such. Mirror is HUGE - it also has bluetooth so i can play some music while i'm getting ready. I love that there are modern touches and finishes throughout the entire room. Tv is nicely wall mounted and wires are hidden. Beds are nice and big - Queen size - and soft mattress (some might find it too soft though). I love that there's lights underneath the bed so you can see your floor! The only thing was the flashing theatre lights were next to our window but i also like that they yhave two sets of blinds to filter amt of natural light you want coming into the room. Tall ceilings so the room feels nice and big. The room is very new and very clean, and they have a lot of toiletries available (i forgot my toothbrush and they had it). The shower is nice and big - no door but the way it's designed the water won't get that far - i loved the shower :) On top of that the location is GREAT! I"ts right in the theatre district, walking distances to attractions like Willis Tower, Millenium Park. We did walk to Shedd Aquarium but we took our time. We also walked to 360 Chicago as well. If you don't mind walking for up to 30 mins at a time you can get to a lot of these places just by walking, and if you can't even if you walk slowly and stop in between at places you can still end up covering quite a bit of ground in the downtown district. I really liked this hotel and would definitely consider staying here again if we are back in town next time!

I really enjoyed my stay at the Cambria - it is in a GREAT location for walking around the Loop, the bed/bedding was super comfortable, bathroom was clean and shower was huge, and I always appreciate a mini-fridge and microwave! There were a few minor things that made it a 4- instead of 5-star: * My room was right on Randolph and even with the windows closed and both shades pulled it was LOUD - cars honking, people screaming. A little more insulation would have been nice! * There is a theater in the building that does 2 performances a night (I think), at least on Fridays? It's just a little weird to be staying there and see a long line of people trying to take one of the 3 elevators (and they reserve one of the elevators for the theater patrons, so you can wait a while). * MINOR point, but one night during my stay I just wanted to order food and watch a movie. And... the TV is VERY limited. No smart TV (so couldn't connect to Netflix or Hulu), kept asking for cables or registration? Very few actual TV channels. I literally had no choice in terms of movies - I watched The Silence of the Lambs. Maybe make the TV situation a little more up to date? Having said that, the location and comfort level were fabulous, and the staff was very accommodating! Would consider staying again!

James, security, was a bright spot for us every day! Yeah, the rooms were clean, location downtown was convenient, but the HUMAN element was so appreciated! He was helpful and funny and asked us every day how we were doing. We would visit this hotel again because of James!

This is going to be my go to place when I want to do a quick getaway. During a Yelp event to highlight the brunch menu at Intermission (the hotel restaurant), we were given a tour of several rooms. I thought that the rooms looked amazing, très chic. I loved the map of old Chicago on the wall behind the bed and the big bluetooth mirror in the bathroom. Very nice size shower and great towels. We only had one sink, but I am guessing that was based on the size of the room. While this is an old office building, I have to say that I was impressed with the work and layout of the rooms. There was free WiFi, a mini fridge quite capable of holding full size bottles of bubbles, a Keurig coffeemaker with supplies, very comfy bed, and a flat screen TV. There was also a small settee in the window, which wasn't bad in terms of comfort as well as a desk area. It was a pretty good size and there was enough room for me to lay out a lovely Charcuterie board for our first night. Because we got a very good deal on the price, our room was about the size of a studio, but gotta say that the bathroom was almost as big as the main room. Nice window with a view of the apartment building next door (that was like watching TV). There were double shades over the windows, one to block the light and one that was white to block the view but still allow light into the room. Overall very comfortable. Location is great as it is in walking distance to Garret's Popcorn, Micky D's, The Dearborn Restaurant, Roanoke, an amazing Walgreen's with wine, not to mention all of the theaters. Because we were only there for the weekend, we did not let housekeeping into the room as we had plenty of everything, but we did a nice note from the person who would have tried to if we had let her in. We had a great time here and plan on going back...so why only 4 stars? I can only speak to our room, but there were two things that dropped this from a 5 star experience to 4 star experience: 1. No chest of drawers for storing items that don't require hangers. There were two open cubby holes on each side of the bed, so that is where the bras and undies had to go. With the size of our bathroom, a small cabinet with drawers could have comfortably gone in there and there still would have been room for a elephant. 2. No glasses for drinking water or wine. I did bring outdoor flutes for bubbles, but there were no glasses in the bathroom for water or to rinse your mouth. There were paper cups for the coffee, but I was using those for, you guessed it, coffee. These are not deal breakers, as I know I will be going back, just something to consider by the management.

I'm currently staying here.Great weather here in July, it's my first time visiting. On a last minute plan, we were able to find an available room here at the Cambria. Upon arrival it's very difficult to pull over and park to get luggage out. There's no doorman outside the building to guide and an awful smell of urine right outside the doors was very unpleasant as a first impression. There's no luggage carts offered upon arrival On the bottom first floor there's three elevators. Each day I noticed how long it takes to have one get to you. Very slow. The lobby is located on 9th floor and very minimal selection of snacks and drinks down there. They did not offer complimentary water and a minimal restaurant menu, on the pricey side. BUT the reason I give 3 stars is because I am traveling with a baby and they offered me a dirty and old pack n play , the gesture was thoughtful but for putting my baby in it, was not in the best condition. The floors were dirty, I had to buy cleaning wipes and go on my knees to clean. There was stains on the wall, dust on the chair, hair all over the floor, and trash in the corners from previous guests. Totally not cool to see especially right as we checked in our room. Shower does not have a completely closed door or curtain so lots of water everywhere and quite cold and drafty. Toilet got clogged after one use there in the room. Plus our key did not work and with all of our luggage had to go back down to get help again. Maid service is available but threw towels down right outside my door and was not sure if they were left there dirty or new sets for us. Saw trash outside the trash and in the lobby sitting there for hours without any staff attending to it Wish this place was more kid friendly and more throughly cleaned. Seemed real bare minimum from the staff. Only come here if you want to be close to the theatre.

Love this hotel! Close to excellent dining options, the theatre, and State Street. Modern rooms, very clean, and spacious. Quick check-in. It's just always easy here - in and out - great service.

Check in and out was extremely easy, there was staff at the front desk at all times to assist. Location was perfect, and I walked to most places I was visiting as the hotel was in a central location. Price was a little expensive, paid about $200 a night for one person which was a lot given I was barely in the hotel most of the day. Regarding the amenities, the cheapest room available had two beds in it which was excessive for me and I could have done with just one bed and preferred to pay half the price. This should be an option for solo travelers. The room could also been been cleaner; there were random sticky stains throughout proving the room had not been cleaned properly (pictures attached), and if you are going to charge me for a clean room, provide a clean room. The bedsheets were clean, but the pillowcases were very stained so I just used the clean pillows (benefit of having two beds I guess). My fridge also randomly started leaking the first night, and the engineer wasn't on the property, so they placed a towel on the floor to soak up the spill and that was it. Due to all these issues, the price was way too high and I actually think I should be refunded some of the amount because the amenities were not up to standard. The lobby was quiet, and the main check in area had a bar and a game area to spend time in which was almost always empty. Overall, I would hesitate to recommend this hotel due to the mechanical issues and lack of cleanliness, but the location is prime, the check in/out process is super easy, and the price would be worth it if the above issues were fixed. Definitely room for improvement.

Thrilled to have found this hotel and would absolutely return. I had booked myself a single day staycation where I was coming into the city for a 2pm matinee at Nederlander and then staying for the 7pm performance of Teatro Zinzanni at Hotel Cambria. Knowing I'd be too early to check in before the matinee, but also knowing I couldn't bring an overnight bag to the theatre, I called the front desk the day before, explained my situation, and asked for early check in. No problem and on the day of the show they got me into my room at 12:15! Such a relief! The rooms are on the smaller side but very smartly laid out. Bed was super comfy. There was coffee and a mini fridge. The layout is such where you don't get much hallway noise at all - added bonus. One word to the wise though. If you're a light sleeper or are going to turn in early for the night, bring earplugs. My room was theatre side across from block 37 and the noise and music coming from the street sounded like Mardi Gras until 10:30pm. With the earplugs I was fine. I'd absolutely come back here again.

This was not my best experience staying in a Cambria Hotel, but certainly not the worst overall hotel experience that I've ever had. First of all, the location is primo. You're right there in downtown. You can easily walk to several touristy hotspots like Millennium Park or the Magnificent Mile. I was here for work and found the location super convenient to walk to the office. Check in was located on the 9th floor (I think) and was efficient and friendly. They were having computer issues, but the service never wavered. My room was on the smaller size, which I expected from being downtown. It was efficient and quiet. I appreciated the bluetooth in the bathroom mirror. It was easy to connect to and made it possible to have a dance party while getting ready. The best was super comfortable and I never heard another guest in the hotel. I do have a few complaints about my stay. The bath towels were torn and frayed. For the cost of the hotel I would expect a higher standard. The Keurig in my room, which was a challenge to find, never had the coffee refilled in my 3 day stay. I enjoy watching the local news while I get ready in the morning and was disappointed to find the TV not working. I called down to the front desk and they said they'd send someone up. They never came in the two hours before I left, but must have come at some point during the day because it was one when I came back. I still couldn't get it to turn off without a 20 minute struggle and finally decided to leave it off the remainder of my stay. Overall, it was a fine stay. All of my complaints can be defined as first world problems, but I am not sure that I would book this hotel again.

The hotel was a great find in a perfect location. The location is honestly the biggest selling point. Everything was easily accessible through walking or a short drive. There are tons of stores and restaurants nearby. The hotel itself was pretty good. The front desk manager on duty was friendly and quick during both check-in & check-out. The room was comfy and met all of our needs. The bathroom mirror was pretty cool as well, since it was Bluetooth. You can connect your phone and play music/videos, which was a nice add on. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel also has a game room on the 5th floor available to the guests. My few drawbacks: There were a few long strands of hair in the covers and on the shower floor. Another con was the design of the shower. There is no door, so it's very easy for water to get onto the floor. There was also know way to connect/cast your phone onto the TV, or any streaming services available. Other than those few things, the hotel was great. I would definitely stay again, because you can't pass up on such a great location right in the Theater District of Chicago.

Hotel is in prime location. Forget about having your car though, you're much better off with Uber or Lyft Most staff was friendly, esp in the evening and overnight. 24 hrs security at the door. Fast elevators. Divvy bikes nearby. Microwave and fridge. I would stay again if it wasn't for the problems I faced in the end. Lobby bathrooms had no toilet paper in all 5 or 6 stalls. There was no soap in all dispensers. Gross! A few hours post check out I remembered I had left an outfit in the closet. Room was occupied with new guest so we hoped it would be in lost in found. It wasn't. I don't understand what type of housekeeping leaves an entire dress in the closet. We had left the ironing board out, so to put it away they'd have to open to closet and seen the dress on the hanger. Makes you wonder how thorough housekeeping actually is esp during a time where sanitation is a priority. I'm hoping Cambria Hotel reaches out with some answers.

UPDATE As if this stay wasn't horrendous enough; the hotel was supposed to credit me 30 bucks. Instead, they LITERALLY CHARGED ME AGAIN. Like how is this even possible?? At EVERY SINGLE OPPORTUNITY to rise up and have some level of customer service they fail. The hotel's response to this.... I need to talk to the accounting department and they're not available. What ?!!! ‍ I'm not sure why this entire stay and post customer service has to be so painfully difficult but here we are. 0 stars Cambria. Cambria, I want to be madly in love with you. Your front desk staff is wonderful. Your rooms mostly gorgeous but, the noise level is unbearable. It's 3:02 am and after not one not two not three but four room changes I was just woken up by a group of wayward celebrations from the lobby elevators. I'm exhausted. Room 1: legit next to the elevator banks. Very noisy, Like the room vibrates not in a good way. Switch to room 2: remember the episode of Seinfeld where a Kenny Rogers Chicken opens and Kramer's apartment glows red? That was my room . Bonus if you can't afford theater tickets at The Oriental if you're in this room you can hear the whole thing from inside your room. Along with the constant clammering of taxi horns. Room three. Highest floor I've gotten and decently quiet. I come back from dinner with my sister and try to close the blinds .... and they're broken. I ask the front desk to send maintenance. That has to wait until tomorrow morning. Room 4: I'm exhausted and finally sleeping. 3:02 am it's party time excellent. Screaming, drunk escapades that go on foreffingever If you stay here, bring a pair of noise cancelling headphones, a white noise machine, earplugs and a eye mask.
