How to Experience Milwaukee Like a Local in 2025

"If you prefer a more modern option, I like this hotel for its nice guest rooms and amenities and for being positioned right between Downtown and the Third Ward, giving easy access to both neighborhoods." - Matthew Kepnes

Google
I was torn between a 3 or 4 rating so I guess the 3.7 that is averaged is about right. The hotel is in a great area to enjoy downtown Milwaukee. We took the train and walked to the hotel and everything else we enjoyed through the weekend - Riverwalk, both Milwaukee and 3rd Street Markets, Riverside Theater, and several other smaller attractions. Check-in staff were very friendly and welcoming. Maid service has to be requested if you're staying more than one night. The room was clean, quiet, and the bed comfortable. There is a 24-hour coffee and tea service area and I saw the staff tending/freshening this area multiple times. View was of the parking lot, but this happens. Suggestions to get the hotel to a solid 4 or even a 5 include: *Refrigerated water for guests in the room. *Real dinnerware and flatware for breakfast- I hate eating on Styrofoam and using plastic utensils. The charge for breakfast is not inexpensive and these added details would make it much nicer for guests, probably cheaper in the long run, and better for the environment. *Having sugar-free syrup available for guests with diagnoses that impact their diet or just for anyone wanting this alternative. It is VERY unusual not to have this option available.

Good - Location and ease of parking great. Room, not my style but very well arranged and great use of space for the Kingsize bedroom. My sister was in two queen room. It was bigger but felt smaller. Bad - no free breakfast - we came for wedding and all had to go to a restaurant for breakfast. Would have really loved for much more casual hangout in the lounge like other Choice hotels. Also could not get more than a slightly warm shower even when turning the know different directions and letting it run a long time. In fact, at end of my only warm shower it suddenly went very cold. Thirdly, there are 5 USB ports and none worked. I'd read each room had multiple so didn't bring a charger adapter. Lastly, and this is true for most hotels, why can't the lights be brighter near a mirror for putting on makeup? And why not a mirror that tilts so I can see theba k of my hair? You can buy a very cheap old fashion shaving mirror that pulls out and tilts and even has a magnified side. Hotels use to have e them. Bring them back.

Room was clean, modern, new. Bed was soft & comfy. Linens were clean & crisp. Room was quiet at night. Weird TV to bed set up. View was not good. For the price I found it odd that parking was not included, nor was a continental breakfast. I did not care for the "on demand" housekeeping service. It was fine, but if I need to stay in downtown Milwaukee in the future I will pay more attention to things like parking & breakfast.

Google
This place has so much waisted potential, this is a pitty I need to put 2 stars. Entire week noone repleace towels, wipe countertops or refill paper cups or coffe supply. On top of this breakfast is the worst I ever had in any hotel. Options to choos from is: instant rehydtated scramble egg with foux 'chees', reheated patty, potatos and grits. On sweet side 1kg plastic container of yougurt, no spoon to serve, and ceriales. To drink terrible coffe, cold, orange juice, water. No tee, no coffe machine. For plating only option is styroform plates and plastic folks (no spoons, no knives). How do I suppose to even eat a patty or a yogurt if ther is no way to serve? All this breakfast is only 16$... what a temting option... wait... not. Simply choos other hotel instead. Parking 28$ is a scam!

Google
The entry was excellent very nice introduction, front desk receptionist was awesome as well, start was comfortable peaceful and clean. Pool was not too cold and clean and big! Not too crowded at all! Room was homey and squeaky clean I loved the lay out and Bluetooth mirror in the bathroom! Check out was simple and fast

Google
I arrived super early and the front desk assistant Tamika allowed me to check in early and waived my fee for me which was super nice and she didn’t have to do that so I appreciated it very much!! The room was nice and the bed and pillows were super comfy. My only concern was with the bathroom, the drain in the tub took about an hour to drain out completely which was a little annoying so I hope they’re able to fix that for future customers.

Google
I will come back and leave this very honest and valid review every time you delete or hide it :) many reviews claim your business is a scam and i’m documenting all of them as this has been my experience as well. and the owner responded to my review before deleting it saying I can contact them to discuss further, which I have and they have fully ignored me. also have a claim open with the better business bureau. just don’t stay here it’s not worth it. BEWARE! this hotel will make false claims in order to charge you incidental fees, these fees probably keep the lights on in the place. They charged me a smoking fee when no smoking occurred in the room, and while scrolling down through their other google reviews I see that other guests have had similar experiences, with one also being charged a fraudulent smoking fee. Our fire alarm went off in the room due to steam from the shower, and a concierge immediately came to inspect the room and she confirmed that there was no issue or smoke odors in the room and she said that yes, the shower and even the microwave at times do set off the alarms and to please let her know if we have any more issues but that everything was fine. Minutes after checking out the following day, I was charged a $250 fee. When I called to ask why, the concierge told me it was because the alarm went off the night before and this led them to believe there was smoking in the room. When I mentioned that our room was immediately inspected upon the alarm going off and the inspector confirmed there was no evidence of smoke, she transferred me to the General manager Joseph Dauber who told me they found marijuana in the room (They didn’t) So I asked for proof of this claim. Please look below and have a laugh at the photos they sent me claiming to be proof that they found marijuana in the room (they didn’t) I also was able to get the photo data on these and can see they were taken about 4 minutes after I checked out of the room, which hardly gives enough time for the thorough inspection they claimed. I believe the first photo is of the manager’s feet immediately running to my room to try and find something to support their false claim which was based only on knowing an alarm had went off, and the second photo is some kind of debris on the bottom of the bathroom trash that they went and sifted through (EW! also feels quite violating them rummaging through my trash, weirdo behavior) Lastly, I wouldn’t have written a review about how seedy and dirty the place was, but given the scammy vibes of the place I may as well warn of that too. The toilet paper holder was broken off the wall so the roll just sits on the counter top, and there’s scum and mildew growing inside the bathroom sink. They must be doing bad financially because their lobby is half taken up by a bar that’s only open on weekends (the only time they have guests i assume? i didn’t see another guest my whole stay there it was eerie) There are much better options in the area for a similar price and cheaper as you likely won’t be charged scam fees at another hotel. again- photos below are how they claim to have proof there was smoking in the room (there wasn’t)

Google
We had a positive experience staying at this hotel. The customer service, primarily Charlotte and Tamika at the front desk, were very friendly and helpful. Take note that there is a security deposit of $150.00 for the stay. The rooms were nice. We could control the temperature, the bed was comfortable, there was a refrigerator and a microwave, and they also had coffee available for free in the lobby. We will be coming back to this conveniently located hotel.

Yelp
Our first time in Milwaukee and first Cambria hotel stay - we are very impressed! We got in late and had an easy quick check in. Our King bedroom and bathroom were incredibly spacious, with all the amenities we could need. The bed/pillows were cozy & we slept great. Our room faced the interstate, but it was quiet and dark with the shades pulled down. We had a cute bar area, with fridge and microwave! Temp. control in the room so we were able to keep it cool. Netflix log in available on the tv and local channels. Truly an outstanding 5/5 for us! Quick walk to Milwaukee Public Market for dinner and the Central Standard Kitchen for Cocktails - highly recommend both and then Uncle Wolfie's for Breakfast! We found cheaper parking before checking in and glad we did. Nothing to complain about!

J B.

Yelp
Cute and clean. We arrived on a really cold Jan night - the heat was *off* in our room, so it was 60 degrees. The front desk said they were out of extra blankets, the restaurant was closed because of staffing issues, and despite paying for parking, I got a $90 ticket because they hadn't put in my license plate #. They said I have to pay the ticket, but did repay the $65 I paid for 2 nights of parking, which seems like literally the least they could do.

Yelp
Overall very nice: easy in/out, quiet area walkable to downtown/third ward, updated rooms and nice lobby, nice gym, nice employees, trendy lobby with good decorations, good temperature, large rooms, moderately nice bed, good coffee on site. I was only disappointed by few things: 1) hot water: it took about 10 minutes of running water in shower continuously to get just tolerable enough lukewarm water, at full hot it was still not very hot after 10 minutes. 2) breakfast: orderable menu downstairs, for $14 got very simply prepared toast/eggs/bacon which was far overpriced for value of very basic meal, I did not want to order there again, much better options in Third Ward. Tried to get into pool area and key didn't work, but gym was fine. Good value for price

Yelp
We stayed there recently, and it was a positive experience. The front desk staff, Charllotte and Tamika, were very accommodating and friendly. The room was comfortable and had a refrigerator and microwave. The location couldn't be more convenient. I hope they stay affordable so that we can visit often.

Yelp
After a long flight with tons of delays I was looking forward to crashing in my hotel room. So, when I got to the hotel and there was no one to check me in, I waited ten minutes and then called the front. No pickup. I called using the lobby. No pickup. I called corporate. No success. People are now checking out and still no one at the front desk. So, I've now paid an expensive hotel room I can't use, I'm sitting in the lobby just wanting to go to sleep, and it's too late to go anywhere else. Update: The manager came in after corporate called and I was able to get into my room for a few hours. They did not charge me upon checkout, which I appreciated.

Yelp
Located downtown so the location is ideal. The sinks in the rooms were so small you could barely wash your hands. The water pressure was horrible and the water in the shower never drained. When asked if someone could fix they did drain but when I ran the shower again same problem. I asked to have the room cleaned, house keeper gave attitude and said ok but it was not done. I went to the front desk to get sheets and change linen myself. For my first time in downtown Milwaukee for a wedding I was highly disappointed in this hotel and would not recommend.

Yelp
I selected Cambria for an overnight girl's trip with a friend. I would describe the interior as sleek, and our room was well-appointed. The bathroom mirror was Bluetooth, and this brought out the pre-teen girl in us both! We got a way bigger kick out of it than we should have. I arrived in Milwaukee rather early and doubted I would be granted an early check-in, but I was. When I told the front desk employee she was awesome, she said, "Our housekeeping staff is awesome." I thought that was so cool that she gave her counterparts some love. The location is short walk from the Intermodel Station. Parking is not free. I think it was $25. My friend parked her car there, but I think she could have saved money by using a different ramp in the area. Overall, for the price and location , I think this is a great Milwaukee hotel choice.

Yelp
You had me at hello... as soon as I logged onto the Hotel's wifi. No hassle over passwords or entering my last name and room number. So simple. Five star review just for this!!! Price was very fair too, staff were friendly and very clean.

Jeanine S.

Yelp
worst experience of any hotel ive ever stayed at. Really bad service, breakfast is not free and very bad. no room service unless you call. they charge $150 security deposit on checkin. checked in on Friday, gave them my licence plate number for parking and paid for 2 days. Saturday they put a parking ticket on my car. spent 2 weeks trying to resolve and they wont resolve it even with my receipts! complete sham organization watch your credit card.

Yelp
Not worth my time to give an extensive review, I'm just piling on since I ended up at this hotel through Federal travel and I didn't get to read reviews for this hotel since I booked through government travel system. Hotel is supposed to follow specific rules to be part of Federal travel, but what is the repercussion if they don't follow those rules? They eventually get pulled from Federal travel listings. My office won't be using this hotel any longer, but it will take longer for the hotel to be removed from the whole system. They charged for an extra night when our work travels finished early....they aren't supposed to do that as part of our system. Calls to hotel manager Ms. Angie White do not get returned. Federal tax exemption status not honored (Wisconsin Department of Revenue has been contacted about that). Business travelers should avoid this place. Federal government credit card has been contacted and dispute initiated. Enough said.

Trish F.

Yelp
Desperate for a room I booked on the phone hours before a late check in. I explained we would check in very late and upon arrival at 1230 am the the front desk agent was ready for a fight. I told her my name and a she typed it in as she shook her head no and then informed me my room was canceled and there were no more rooms available. She claimed they called me and my voicemail was full. BOTH ARE FALSE STATEMENTS. At this point we were forced to drive an hour home after a concert that we had another room booked for but it seems Milwaukee likes to over book there hotels and third party bookings are treated like the plague.

Jace M.

Yelp
The worst experience I've ever had at a hotel. Nikki, the front desk agent, had a horrible attitude, charged me a 150 incidental fee which I expected, but charged me an extra 150 on hotel total. Her exact words were "I tried to contact my manager and she didn't respond so how do you want to take care of the $488?" Followed that up with a "Jesus Christ!" Very unprofessional. Rolled her eyes at a customer for asking for assistance with lighting in his room and stated there was no maintenance on site but could try sending someone else. The bartender was very friendly except the bar was closed by 9:00 pm. The halls smelled of weed (didn't bother us but maybe to others), tried to purchase beer that was out on display but told they stop selling at 9:00 pm. Charlotte checked us out and was very nice and professional. Check in was brutal and will never return after being treated in that manner.

Jan M.

Yelp
Great hotel. Appears to be fairly new and it was very clean. Attendant at the front desk was very personable and friendly. The rate was good. The location was good. The bed was comfortable. The room was spacious. The shower could've used a little more water flow but that wasn't a big deal. Would definitely stay here again. Paid $25 to park and wondered why it only cost 15 in the parking garage next-door, but was told by more than one other customer that I was better off paying the $25 and being in a secure lot. When I travel to Milwaukee again, I will be happy to stay at this hotel. Well worth the money.

Kevin K.

Yelp
Management is awful. Mr. Brown and Ms. White. Cleaning staff is awful. Dirty rooms Front desk is great

Shoshanna B.

Yelp
Andrew who works the front desk is the mot disrespectful, unprofessional, rude and unhelpful person I've encountered in customer service. Not only was he not willing to help me in any way fix my reservation that was wrong on their end, but he was inpatient, not even letting me get my concerns out before starting his disrespectful banter. Once I was able to tell him the issue he offered no solutions while verbally abusing me and making me feel like I was bothering him as he repeatedly tried to end our conversation very rudely and dismissively. I asked him why he was speaking to me like that as he continued his disgusting behavior. No solutions or empathy for the situation created by the hotel, only a rude, disrespectful, agitated tone and as soon as I hung up, not 1 min later my hotel cancelation came through my email. This guy is a nightmare and should not be in customer service at all. We were coming for a family event and we will all find a different hotel, and will never even consider this hotel in the future

Destiny A.

Yelp
Upon check in, there was line of customers waiting to be helped as there system was down. We had to wait an extra two hours before we were able to check in which was quite frustrating considering we were in town for an event that started before we were able to check in. The location was decent and the view from the hotel room was nice. The bed sheets were stained and smelled of urine. The mattress was comfy but had blood stains. I informed the staff of these issues and nothing was done.

Mark Clarke C.

Yelp
The staff at this hotel is absolutely the worst you can find anywhere on the map. My card was wrong double charged at this hotel and when trying to explain that to the manager Kim, I was rudely hung up and kept giving me the run around everytime I would call back to speak to someone the other manager. Furthermore this isn't an isolated issue, my wife's family has also had run ins with this lady and other staff members, they have always been nothing but disrespect and short with my wife's family and friends. Think twice before booking here if your not trying to deal with staff members that aren't willing to help and angry that they have to be working at the hotel to start with as if to say you told them to work there.

Kenneth A.

Yelp
Used points (Platinum member) to redeem a one night stay on Sept 24, 2024 at a Cambria Hotel in Downtown Milwaukee, WI in September to see some friends. I asked for early check in and it wasn't available so I ran a couple errands and checked in around 5:30pm, dropped my things, and wasn't back until 11:30pm. I showered and went to get into bed when I turned the sheets back and noticed a hair. One hair isn't the end of the world, but on closer inspection and throwing the sheets all the way back, the bed was FULL of hair. The sheets had clearly not been changed from the previous guest. I have NEVER complained at a hotel before. I have years of hotel stays stacked up at this point and never experienced anything close to this. Called the front desk and politely said I had an issue with the room and explained. Front desk said there was one room left that I could be moved to. I moved to the first floor directly behind the front desk. Walked in and room was clearly used. Head and body print on second bed, coffee trash on counter, crumbs/debris on bathroom counter and floor. I didn't even bother to complain again, I just slept on the first bed. At check out I politely asked to speak to the manager. Waited about 5 mins and the front desk agent asked if they could help at all. I really didn't want to burden her with the issue, started to explain when the GM walked out. Explained the situation, he apologized and offered 10k points for the issue. I accepted when he said, oh I would have given you 20k if you asked. I said oh, then I will take that, he accepted. He followed up a week later with an email and stating he would have 25k points added to my account. More than a month later, and an email to corporate and no delivery of points. Photos loaded out of order. Read description for more info.

Yelp
I had a good stay here at the Cambria Hotel! I had a 1-night stay at this hotel for my friend's birthday who lives in Milwaukee. We booked a 2 bed room around 2 weeks prior to our stay. The hotel is right by the highway and it's down the street from the downtown area, restaurants, and bars. Very walkable distance to fun things! It looked very nice and was bigger on the inside than I thought. I will say there was a long line to check in because it was also exactly right at 4:00 (check-in time) when we arrived. The staff was really nice our whole stay! The room was nice with comfy beds, although the floors were kinda dirty and dusty. The thing that was difficult to figure out was the parking. It wasn't explained the best and it wasn't on their website anywhere, but it's $25 a night to park your car by the hotel. Their lot is really small in the back and was all full, so we drove to the parking garage behind it. I would book another stay at The Cambria but I don't think I'd stay longer than a night or two!

Yelp
You cannot check in until 3pm....no matter what. Hotel is less than half full. But you need to check out at 11am....Front desk staff has RBF and is unhappily employed here. Sounded like a robot a gave zero f$$$$ and zero explanation as to policy or whatever. The policy is silly and poor business. If you are busy I understand rooms may not be ready. Rooms are ready to go. The bar is closed. This place sucks. A maintenance man was friendly so we have that going for us. Yolanda was very nice too. Pros: Rooms are dark and quiet even on the highway side. Close to lots of stuff. Cons: value for cost is poor. $25 to park. Cannot sell their packaged liquor after 9pm (ruined our night cap plan), no lotion (small amenity but come on), fridge still had food in it from previous guest,.

Donald R.

Yelp
I was unable able to find this property on Google maps or with my Garmin. I finally had to stop and ask someone. The font desk male was very poor and needed some additional training in customer service. The ladies that were behind the desk were outstanding. The rooms are nice but small. The food is good but expensive, but it is downtown so this is to be expected. They also charge $25+tax for parking in their lot. Who does that? The customer service from the man behind the desk was not acceptable and unfortunately, I will not be back...
google avatar

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Really great spot. It's walking distance from a lot of restaurants/bars and the public market. Wouldn't recommend paying for parking in the lot though, since parking in the covered lot next door is 10 dollars cheaper.

Randy T.

Yelp
I made a reservation for 2 months out. Unfortunately, I now have to be out of the country during this time. When I called to cancel, I was told by a fairly rude agent that their policy is to not issue a refund regardless of the reason when a customer cancels. I asked to speak to a Manager, was transferred. Of course, all I got was a voice mail- I left a message requesting a return call. That was 6 days ago without a return call. STAY AT ANY OTHER HOTEL IN MILWAUKEE BESIDES CAMBRIA.

Livia D.

Yelp
If I could give this hotel zero stars I would. It all started with the front desk. It was before check-in time which I was Well aware of and all I asked was if she could hold my bags for a couple minutes so I could go park the car.. they kept telling me I couldn't check in. I said I understood that but can you maybe store the bags then and I will get them from you in 5 minutes.. they were talking among themselves saying she doesn't understand she can't check in.. they treated me like I was an idiot to the point where I said this is NOT my first hotel stay.. I do this on a monthly basis.. this was the overnight stay. Unprofessional to say the least! just horrible!! They finally "make an exception" and h le my bags.. sadly my reservation was non refundable or I would have cancelled my reservation right there and then! My reservation originally was until Monday. they have a parking lot right next to the property were I parked my car. Saturday night / Sunday morning my car got broken into. On Sunday once we found out we immediately left as we didn't feel safe. Upon telling the front desk what happened and if there was a way I could get refunded for the night I wasn't staying since I felt unsafe.. her answer was "next time don't stay in downtown it happens" like lady how about a bit of empathy?!? TERRIBLE!!!! This hotel has potential BUT NOT with the staff they hire. Do not stay there!

Jeremy P.

Yelp
The hotel itself was fine. But they have Maybe two staff members and it's seems like only one is ever. there. Called for extra pillows. They were OUT! Of pillows. There isn't nice view to be had out of any window and the parking lot is tiny.

Kelly M.

Yelp
Horrible customer service and the GM is not any better. Car was stolen from the hotel's lot and the employees immediately said that it isn't their lot and do not show any care or concern. Kept asking for video footage and was told the GM is the only one who can help but he wasn't in town, tried calling g when he was back and was ignored. He called us back late on a Monday night and rushed us off the phone. Got the vibe that he thought we wouldn't answer an unknown number and didn't expect to actually talk to us. Said he'd call us back after he reviewed our police report and the footage, that was 2 weeks ago. Can't get a hold of him. Police told us this hotel's lot get hit all the time and to never park there again. Hotel claims they had extra security that night but wouldn't show us any security logs or footage. They just get defensive. We stayed here for a wedding and were part of the wedding party with plans to get ready and enjoy ourselves that whole saturday but instead spent the day filing police reports, waiting on tow trucks, having to uber back to our home to pick up another car. This hotel charges $25/night for a sketchy surface parking lot that they don't want to claim yet that's where they tell you to go and charge you for personally. There's no gates to prevent someone from exiting without paying. This ruined our weekend and until this happened, the hotel staff was friendly and kept texting us to check in and see if we needed anything friday going into saturday. once we reported what happened they kept giving us the run around saying they would get us in touch with management and the GM.

Kiersha B.

Yelp
Not bad, but could be better. Pros - Location in the downtown - walking distance from everything - Parking: at the hotel with in/out privileges - Yolanda - very nice employee! - Bluetooth mirror - Suite style - 2 TVs - Decor - Quiet Cons - Parking: $25 a day (not included in the room price) but there's a parking garage next door for $15 a day - Shower setup was interesting...also no water pressure - Shower head functions not functional - Lots of light switches - most randomly placed, yet still poor lighting in the room - Some lazy room renovations

Yelp
I booked this room in May to come up for SummerFest. I thought I had booked a one bedroom suite that was supposed to have a dining room table, ottoman and side chair. What I got was a one bedroom DUMP! Turns out the pictures they show in the website aren't what you actually get. Be forewarned, unless you specifically book a CORNER 1 bedroom suite (not actually listed on website), you will get an overpriced one bedroom unit that doesn't include the things I just mentioned. I was in room 336 there wasn't even a dresser for my clothes. The faux wood floor was FiLTHY! The lighting was almost non-existent. Bathroom shower door broken. No coffee supplies. All of this for $325.00 a night! After my first night here, I checked out the next morning (pubic hair literally on the bedsheets and it wasn't mine). Ants crawling on the white desk table (by the way,who puts a desk directly under a television?) No hand soap in bathroom. Honestly, I've gotten a much better room at a Super 8. I would give this one star but I will say the maintainance guy who fixed my shower door felt terrible. I can honestly say this hotel was gross!

Nick H.

Yelp
Reception staff was friendly room was nice. The pool was suddenly closed the last day. Said it was for maintenance but no staff working on it. Maybe chemicals were off but it's supposed to be an included amenity and we did not get any discounts. Lastly don't waste your money on parking use spot hero for the lot literally connected to theirs. It was $20 for the weekend vs $25/night

Yelp
I stayed here weekend of March 5th. We paid for hotel parking. Unfortunately my car was stolen from the hotel parking lot. I understand these things can happen anywhere, however I am most disappointed with the hotels response. We were told there was no manager on site that day. And we have called multiple times daily since that day and have not had our calls returned. All we were told that day is they could call us a cab and then we were asked how we would be paying for the cab! In the very least we expected our parking fee to be returned. However we were told that we signed a waiver! Very very disappointed with the lack of response. We needed transportation to police station, we needed to buy tickets to take a train back home. Very very poor customer service.

Richard E.

Yelp
Be very aware of this hotel. I booked a room at $124/nite and checked out early after two nights and paid and early departure surcharge. I did not receive my email receipt for a few days and when I read it was shocked to see I was charged $169 for the first night and $220 the second despite being verbally assured by the manager that the early departure was no problem. I spoke to three people at the front desk and none could address much less answer the question of why I was overcharged. I made the booking through booking.com and they have been unable to resolve the problem and pass the buck onto the hotel. This hotel was facing foreclosure and I wanted to give them a chance but they have demonstrated no concerns over ripping off their customers and I would avoid this hotel like the plague

Stayed in 10/14. Paid for parking. When checking in, the front desk told me I could park on the first Floor of the deck directly next to the hotel. The next morning I had a parking ticket on my car. I went to the front desk and he told me "we have had a bunch of these this morning, we'll take care of it for you." A month later I got a letter in the mail from Parking Authority saying we owed them $82.50. I called the front desk and explained how I was told it would e taken care of and was then told there was nothing they could do. Instead, they would refund what we paid for in parking.

Yelp
Nice hotel. Staff was friendly, room was clean and the area seemed safe! I would stay there again.

Yelp
I had called to let this hotel know id be arriving a day late. I was on the phone with a man for a solid 20 minutes making sure I communicated the things I needed changed to my reservation, unfortunately I booked through a third party app and paid for no cancellation, which is fine but what sucked is... even though I called and let them know id be a day late they marked me as a no show and told me there was absolutely no rooms for me ... on Labor Day weekend, and I was gonna have to figure out somewhere else to sleep for a night. There were NO rooms available anywhere. My uncle brought me back and Derek was there working and he was so kind and got me in a room right away. Derek seemed to be the only one there who was willing to make sure I had somewhere to sleep for the night and was so professional. Sadly I did have to pay extra money for a mistake I didn't make but I will say my rooms were excellent and overall I enjoyed my stay. But only thanks to Derek.

Yelp
This is my second time staying here and it has gone down hill. Location is good if you are visiting the Third Ward and rooms are okay for the inflated price, but one of the front desk employees is very unhelpful. Based on my first stay I requested a room not facing the noisy freeway across the street because rooms facing that freeway hear a lot of car noise 24 hours a day. The unhelpful employee said he had no input over room assignments and "the system" just puts me where it pleases. I persisted and he finally got another person to help me and that person was able to give me a room away from the noisy freeway. I've stayed at a lot of hotels in my life and never really met a front desk employee so rude and unhelpful. He seemed to not like his job and had a serious chip on his shoulder -- not the kind of person that should be working at hotel reception. On my check out day I requested a 1 hour late checkout (noon instead of 11am) which nearly all hotels allow (most are noon anyway so not even needed). I had talked to the front desk the night before and the person said "yes of course we allow that but you'll need to call the desk in the morning, things here are kinda funny... lol". When I called in the morning I could tell it was the unhelpful guy working and he curtly said "we aren't allowing late check outs". The free Showtime streaming wasn't working and the front desk didn't know how to fix it. I asked them if they could call their tech support but they said their tech support is pretty useless and probably wouldn't be able to resolve it. Also the hot water pressure was very bad -- you need to leave the shower running for a number of minutes before any hot water becomes available. Finally, I paid for parking but their lot was full so they said park in the garage across the alley. My last day that garage left me a parking invoice, apparently the garage and hotel don't communicate. Next time I need a hotel in Milwaukee I'll probably stay at one with better reviews.

Yelp
I came to see the Milwaukee Bucks play. This hotel is close to everything. I took the Amtrak $50 round trip from Chicago. Hotel is walking distance from train station. Walking distance to the stadium as well. Located in the Historic Third ward. The Milwaukee public market is walking distance where you'll find all types of food. ( think French market). My room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. I will 100% stay here in the future. Microwave & Fridge in room. Bar restaurant and sitting area with a few items for snacking. Bottled water, candy and other snacks.

Yelp
I won't even get into the details but I have stayed here a couple times for business over the past two years and it literally gets worse every trip. Here are a few pics of my room from this visit to help fill in the details. This will be my last stay here and I'll be switching to a cleaner hotel in the area moving forward.

Yelp
We had a reservation for a wheelchair accessible room. Upon arriving, they told us we needed to wait while it was finished being cleaned. About an hour later we asked for an update, and were told the room was no longer available, and they offered us a non accessible room that definitely wouldn't have worked for our special needs. Major disappointment, horrible customer service.

Yelp
Looks are deceiving when we checked in to our room it looked very nice but then we saw gummy worms under the bed and a bowl On top of the closet the fridge was so dirty I was so excited that they provided body wash and shampoo and conditioner not a lot of hotels provided that so that was a plus but when taking a shower there was no body wash and the shampoo and conditioner there was hardly any left ...ughhhh I would suggest this place if you are staying 1 night but if more that 1 night consider other hotels , there is $25 for parking but if you can get it cheaper at the lot across from them then I do recommend it .

Yelp
This hotel is very nice. It's less than 2 years old. The pool is a plus. The bar area is nice. There were a couple of design fails in our room, but they weren't a big deal. The staff was top-notch. Sheena checked us in and was super nice and helpful. Big shout-out to Chef Val for going out of her way for us. My biggest complaint was that there was no maid service. I don't need my sheets and towels changed every day (we stayed 3 nights), but we had to keep asking for staples like toilet paper and coffee. We were surprised to find that there was a $75 deposit on the room. I am happy to report that they have already refunded it without incident. Don't pay $25 to park in their lot. There's metered parking on the street that you can pay thru an app. The location of the Hotel is great. We asked if it was safe to walk at night and we were told by a local that they had never had any problems. I read another yelp that complained about noise from the hi-way (we could see the ramp from our room) but we didn't hear it at all. I believe the windows are double paned. Anyhow, I'd stay at the Cambria again.

Yelp
Hot spot for car break ins and theft! Last weekend my friends car was stolen. To our disappointment the hotel staff did not respond in a sensitive manner. Parking fee was not refunded, no manager on call, we had to purchase Amtrack Tickets back ti Chicago. As of today, no response from the hotel it's been six days. Beware...

Yelp
We stayed here for Triathlon Nationals this August. We paid for parking but received a ticket in the parking structure we were told to park at. When we brought this to the attention of the hotel and we're told to contact the company that issued the ticket. They asked for a letter from the owner of the hotel and documentation of the lease. The hotel has done nothing and this has been moved to collections. This is a scam the hotel could have just refunded our money we paid for parking to cover the cost of the ticket.

Yelp
Great location- reason for star- near the Food Hall, River walk and 3rd Ward. However, not clean. We booked 3 rooms for a wedding. One room had hair balls and hair on pillow. We asked for daily room service- not available - they clean rooms every 3 days. No options. Sparse on towels and took a day before we got extra towels. Tiny garbage pail in room and no place to throw out garbage. Room layout is strange. Bed is in the middle of the room, tv on the side wall, sofa at foot of bed and desk behind bed. You are facing the window when you sleep and can't see the door. Parking is expensive. We had to park in the scuzzy municipal lot next door. Didn't feel safe parking there. We had breakfast there on Sunday and it was fine- reason for second star.

Yelp
Sleek new hotel near all my favorite MKE stops for the best rates within that area. Cute lobby with plenty of seating, an awesome bar and a well-stocked grab & go section. I had an issue which I assume is one of those freak occurrences because this place still has that new smell... but their manager David made it right within literally 1 minute. He's the kind of employee every hotel should have. Much appreciated, will be back during the Brewers season for sure to take advantage of their cool outdoor space.

Yelp
There is no breakfast and when I say no breakfast I mean literally no breakfast. All there is is muffins and only a couple danish. This is horrible how you spend $100+ a night to get almost nothing as breakfast when they say it is included in your stay. 0/10 I would recommend you go somewhere else in the mornings if you want breakfast.

Yelp
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I paid for parking along with paying for my room. They did not inform the parking service provider, so I received a ticket while parking in the spot they nominated. NOT ONLY THIS, but they managed to do this two nights in a row. NOT ONLY THIS, they did NOTHING about it when I Brough it up after they made it clear (they will fix this). NOT ONLY THAT, the parking service provider sent this to COLLECTION AGENCY.

Yelp
Being used as an air b n b as well. Neighboring room was very very noisy- informed the hotel- they got back to be 7 hours later informing us how sorry they are and if it keeps up to let them know?!. Also, front desk pointed us the parking lot to be used- I parked what I thought was the hotel lot, paid for 2 nights parking at $25 a night, but got a parking ticket for being in the neighboring property poorly marked lot?'. The hotel room was clean and the front desk staff was professional.

Yelp
ABSOLUTELY DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!! I have never witnessed anything like the horrible service and standards of this hotel. Prior to our arrival we called to see if we could have early check in. We were told that we could check into our room at 2:00pm. When we arrived, both rooms were not ready and still needed to be cleaned. We then waited in the lobby until 3:30pm when only 1 of our 2 rooms were ready. We had an event that night so this really effected us getting ready. My Mom ended up having to shower and get ready in our room since hers was not ready. There was no shampoo or body wash in the shower and I had to run around the hotel trying to find this. Eventually we left for the event and just hoped my Moms room would be ready when we got back. We got back around 11:00pm and thank goodness her room was ready. BUT, upon entering her room you could see that the room was not cleaned and the bedsheets had dirty makeup stains on them! GROSS! We decided to just deal with it in the morning. The next morning my Mom went to the front desk to tell them about the condition of her room. Yolanda, the manager, was very apologetic and told my Mom that "she herself would personally clean my Moms room head to toe" while we were gone. We left TWO times throughout the day and both times we returned the room was still not cleaned. We didn't say anything as we left to go to dinner as we wanted to see if she would hold her word. When we came back from dinner at 10:30pm the room still was not cleaned and still had dirty makeup stained linens. The next morning Yolanda called my Moms room at 8:00am and told her that was she was too tired to ever come up and clean her room. My Mom was beyond frustrated at this point and kindly told Yolanda all she wanted was her points back for both nights stay, as she had to sleep in a dirty room for TWO nights. Yolanda said that she would speak to her manager about this and get back to my Mom. Since we stayed there, over two weeks ago now, we have not heard a single word from them. I'd also like to point out that the parking in this hotel is HORRIBLE. They charge you for a lot that never has one open spot. You have to then park on certain floors of a parking lot that also had no spots. We then had to park in a different lot right behind the hotel and hope that our car didn't get towed. I know this review is lengthy, but do yourself a favor and DO NOT stay at this hotel.
