Booked the Cambridge Suites Hotel for a 5 night stay in Halifax. As I have family living near Halifax, I booked a "1 bedroom junior suite", advertised to sleep 4, so that my family members (2) could spend a couple of nights with us.||Prior to arrival, I called the hotel to request that the pullout sofa be made up in advance of our guests arrival, and to arrange parking. I was told there would be an additional charge of $20 per person, per night to cover the costs of linens and breakfast, and a charge of $25/day for Parking (recently was zero). I agreed.||Once we arrived at the Hotel we checked in, and confirmed that the extra couple would be arriving the next day, and the pullout bed would need to be made up. We then proceeded to our room. The best thing I can say is that it was clean, very tired and dated. A disappointment. ||The next day, before heading out on a tour, we had breakfast, which consisted of most items found at a hotel breakfast buffet, except, oddly, breakfast meat. We discovered why, when we sat diwn in the dining room| There was a sign on each table advising that bacon would be an additional $5, and sausage $6.||When we returned to the hotel that afternoon, the room had been made up, but the pullout sofa was not made. Sheets, a mattress pad, one blanket and pillowcases were left folded in the seating area. No pillows or towels. Back downstairs we went to request that the missing item be provided and that the bed be made up. We were told that this service had to be requested...we had - twice.||The sofa bed mattress was old, thin and very uncomfortable. We were embarrassed that our guests had to sleep on it.||I short, we paid an extra $80 for the two nights that our guests stayed there, for an old, tired room, a thin, old uncomfortable bed, and a sparse breakfast. ||The cleaning ladies did a great job, the front desk was friendly enough, if not committed to following through on customer requests, the location was good in relation to the waterfront, but the hotel amenities and tired out condition mean we won't be staying there again. A shame.
