Yelp
In response to your comment: NO dental services performed. This is why I can't trust this place. Find yourself a dentist you can trust.

Yelp
It is difficult to evaluate dental place, but I would say this place is average. Cleaning is not the best one I have had. One of my former dental place had full intensive 45 minute cleaning. Here, probably 25 minutes with not so intensive cleaning. Admin person is responsible.

Yelp
Top shelf dental care!!! I have been a patient of this office for many years and always feel that I am provided with great care.

Jim W.

Yelp
Overall very happy with this practice. Dr. Green placed a crown pre-COVID and I recently returned for regular cleaning and checkup and was even more impressed by the hygienist. Thoughtful and helpful comments. Thorough cleaning without being painful. Probably the best hygienist experience I've ever had. Of the five or so appointments I've had, I don't remember waiting for more than five minutes in the waiting room. Maybe not the fanciest practice I've been to, but overall an excellent, well-run practice with an experienced staff. I'll continue to go there and recommend to friend and family.

Yelp
Professionalism by all members of Dr. Green's team. Dr. Green herself spent all the time required to explain the results of my examination, and the myriad of treatment options. Excellent and comfortable service.

Yelp
I came to Dr. Green earlier this year with a very complicated and critical dental issue and I am so glad that I chose her practice. Dr. Green got right to work figuring out how best to take care of my teeth and made sure I understood what was happening in my mouth and what my options were. The whole time it has been very apparent that Dr. Green truly cares about setting me up for long term success. The staff are all extremely professional and responsive as well. I couldn't ask for more.

Yelp
I have been a patient at this practice for 3 years. Everyone on Dr. Green's staff that worked there on my 1st visit, still works there - which is great to have continuity. Ellie has been the hygienist each time and she is so friendly and caring. I highly recommend this dental practice.

Yelp
Just wanted to confirm all the positive reviews. Just came from there after some exigent dentistry and actually enjoyed the experience (as much as one can in the circumstances). Dr. Green herself was superb, both in skill and demeanor, answered all questions and delivered a high quality of care, as did her assistant (or tech or hygienist?) Caesar (or, more likely,Cesar). Marie at the front desk was professional and cordial, even with a high-touch, pleasant but undoubtedly complicated, patient ahead of me who appeared not to have an appointment and, when given the opportunity to squeeze in, was unprepared due to an unrelated malady. No one's fault, but probably a lot to confront first thing in the morning. Still, the staff kept their composure (even in the face of some IT-related issues), and I would feel confident recommending Cambridgeport Dental and Dr. Green. Facility is small but pleasant; tiny waiting area, but I wasn't kept waiting long. I DO wish I could have filled out the patient information paperwork ahead of time, perhaps even online (unless HIPAA precludes this), especially the info I had given Marie over the phone already. A minor quibble, and certainly not unique to this practice, but that is the difference between 4 and 5 stars, I guess. Anyway, great experience all around.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place (I never write YELP reviews). I went here during a time when I had great dental insurance but I was never given a heads up about the cost of procedures. I received a root canal which depleted all of my insurance allotment and when I went to check out both times I was shocked by the money I was said to owe even with insurance. I wish I would have been given more of a heads up as I did not have that amount of discretionary income. I asked if I could do a payment plan and I was told I could not. In the end, the root canal did not take care of the pain I went there to treat, my crown ended up breaking within the year and I am in desperate need of a cleaning which my insurance couldn't cover at the time because of the root canal I got. Looking for another dentist that is more conscious about the fact that not all of us are walking around with $700 in our pockets everytime we go to the dentist.

Yelp
Office was really helpful and understanding. I am on my husband's dental insurance and brought the insurance card to my appointment without realizing that I also needed his social security number. The office told me I didn't have the right info and treated me anyway, trusting me to call back with the rest of my insurance information. They also gave me additional pointers on how to better floss and brush my teeth that have made my mouth keep feeling cleaner!

Jaya A.

Yelp
Dr. Green and her team are wonderful! They give helpful tips on how to best care for my teeth and are understanding when I frequently forget to follow up with a specialist, etc. They work diligently and thoroughly. I love that they are a local team and are quite literally across the street from me!

Ed S.

Yelp
Solid service even during COVID as they wore extra ppe and had me first disinfect my mouth. I was in and out as scheduled for my cleaning and exam.

Carolyn L.

Yelp
Dr. Green is amazing. She has the lightest touch, so that you hardly even realize she's working in your mouth, and I never have any discomfort after my visits. She's done several crowns for me, and because of her attention to detail, they always fit perfectly. But even the dreaded filling is not bad here - she's super careful and gentle. The office feels calm and cozy, and the staff are terrific! I saw that someone mentioned Marie - yes, fabulous! I get my regular preventive care here as well, and the hygienist, Ellie, is great. The practice provides excellent dental care, and their pricing is within what insurance will cover. Their location a few minutes' walk from the T is also a bonus! Finally, I appreciate that they send a text reminder about the appointment. All around, Fantastic!

Yelp
One of the most pleasant dental experiences I have ever had. I hadn't been to the dentist in two years so it's fair to say that I wasn't necessarily the ideal patient. You wouldn't know it from the treatment I got! Everyone at Cambridgeport Dental was fantastic. Ellie got my teeth feeling the cleanest they have in years with gentle precision. She had an uncanny ability to carry on a conversation throughout the entire cleaning, but only ask me questions at the times where she didn't have instruments in my mouth. This made the entirety of the cleaning process a pleasure. Dr. Green was personable and from the moment she entered it was evident she had found her passion. She made me feel as if she had the expertise of a seasoned dentist and yet the excitement of a greenhorn. With that combination, I'm *almost* looking forward to going back to get a cavity filled. While I left with some "homework", advice and recommendations were delivered in a way that far from the traditional condescension I've received from other Dental professionals. To cap things off they were prompt and efficient; I brought along work to do in the waiting room, but my wait was so short that I didn't have time to get any of it done.

Yelp
I had terrible jaw pain. It turns out I needed a simple nightguard. This bum wouldn't give me the time of day when I asked him for help. He took a look at my insurance and decided he could make more money selling me some unnecessary cosmetics. He said it was absolutely essential that I get the procedure on about half of my teeth. Screw that! I went elsewhere. The second dentist didn't mention the cosmetic garbage. I got my nightguard and the pain went away. I've learned that if you have really good insurance you tend to get a lot of unnecessary medical procedures. Unprofessional, unethical and crooked. These people should be in prison.

Sasha F.

Yelp
All I needed was a cleaning, and I called before making an appointment to ask if they took my dental insurance. They said they did, and that there would be no fee at all. They did NOT tell me they weren't sure, or to double check with my insurance company. Months later, I receive a bill for a service I was told was covered by my insurance. I called them about it and they refused to take responsibility. This office just wants people to come in and don't care enough to truly check the costs associated with a visit, even when insurance information is provided by the patient at the very start. This is poor business practice. Never going there again.

Yelp
If you are into masochism, this place is for you. No one should go through such horrible experience. The hygienist is the worse EVER as reported by other yelpers. She scrapes your gum and teeth like hell. Worse, she does not use any suction leaving you swallow your own blood. Can you believe it ?? Gruesome. Can't believe she still works there, the definition of how to kill a business by turning patients away. Also the dentist recommended to do work that was NOT recommended nor necessary. Two dentists in two different places disagreed with her assessment, which calls into question her competence. To top it off, their billing is shady to say the least. Never again

Yelp
I've been going to Dana Dental for @ twenty years at this point, with some breaks. They are, I think, a bit more expensive than some other dentists, but a). it's not that much more, and b). you want the job done right, yes? Some highlights: -- he was one of the first dentists that realized that I in fact was not 'flossing vigorously', resulting in receding gums, but that I had a gum disease. One appointment with the periodonist later, and I've been good ever since (this was around fifteen years ago, btw). -- I've never had any trouble with any of the fillings. Even when I fussed and said I did not want metal ones. -- re the earlier person's comment about the mouthguard: I too needed a mouthguard - another problem which had gone undiagnosed for years. They managed to cover it through my insurance. I bit through the first one. : / they quickly made me a second one, which is currently on year 8 or so. -- Ellie, the hygienist, has been cleaning my teeth for twenty years. She does a superlative job, and she's hilarious to boot.

Tracy S.

Yelp
I first went here for a cleaning - Ellie did an excellent job, the cleaning felt thorough but was very gentle and nearly painless. At the subsequent checkup, I was a bit surprised by the course of treatment recommended, so I asked if I could come back in to get a more in-depth explanation of the reasoning. Dr. Green made time to meet with me, did a second exam, showed me the X-rays and images, and explained her reasoning very clearly - she didn't charge me anything for this. I went in to get a cavity filled this morning and it was smooth and painless. Dr. Green also showed me images of what the tooth looked like beforehand, after opening up the cavity, and afterward. I really appreciated her transparency and willingness to explain. Marie at the front desk is also very helpful and efficient. I will definitely be returning here for cleanings and check-ups in the future.

Yelp
Nice assistant and dr. I went in to get my chipped tooth fixed and was quick. Novocaine shot did not hurt at all. he did a great work to fill my chipped part!

Yelp
For now I'm going to give this 3 stars. I had a crown pop off at 11:30pm last night, and called Dana Dental Assoc this morning at 8:15am. They were able to fit me in at 9:15 which was great! A co-worker referred me to Dr. Dana, and he did a decent job... but I didn't have much face time with him so I'm only able to give this an A-OK for now.

Yelp
I switched dentists recently, after having been at another terrible dentist in Cleveland Circle for way too long. The staff and assistants were all fantastic. Very friendly and welcoming. Dr. Dana is friendly and clearly knows what he is doing. I felt more comfortable in a dentist office than I have in many years. Not a negative thing to report here. I only wish I had switched to him years ago!
google avatar

Megan S.

Yelp
Dr. Dana is great and so are the receptionists. However, the hygienist is unpleasant to have to deal with. I always think twice about making my appointments there because of her. She is always sarcastic, and seems to get a kick off judging people and making them feel bad. She does clean your teeth well, but that is because she practically scrapes your teeth as hard as she can. Don't get me wrong; she isn't a bad person, but her attitude isn't helping the business. I don't even want to imagine what it would be like to be married to someone like her. If you don't like being judged, don't come here. Otherwise, Dr. Dana is great.

Cassandra T.

Yelp
Dr Dana is probably the best dentist I've ever been too. I switched to Dana Dental after having my appointments canceled and mis-scheduled by another dentist. I love when my doctors explain what they are doing and remember my name. Dr. Dana and his assistants were always cognizant of my comfort and checking in with me. When I ask questions, other dentists get annoyed. Dr. Dana was happy to explain things to me. Dr. Dana uses more expensive materials than other providers, and your insurance might not cover some of these items, so definitely ask your insurance provider before hand if you are strapped for cash. Dana Dental will file the claim, but it may come back that you owe additional $$. As to his skills, I just received a temporary crown, and I was out in less than an hour. I arrived at 7:30, waited a few minutes, used the restroom, had the procedure, and I was home at 8:30. I live only 5 minutes away, but, still, I got a really nice temporary crown all done in what was probably 50 minutes.

Yelp
Words are not adequate to praise the staff here and Dr. Dana himself who is also excellent. Never had trouble making appointments. In fact Lylia at the front desk would coax me to make my half-yearly cleaning appt. if I ever forgot. She is so caring -- I hope they really appreciate her good work.

Candace C.

Yelp
I needed a lot of work on my teeth over the past few months and Dr. Green has been excellent. She has done a thorough job with all the restorative work. She has always been reachable and willing to fit me in to her busy day to address issues.

Yelp
Normally I'm very afraid of dentists, but they were super friendly and with a great approach. I will not be afraid going to my next appointment with them.

Yelp
Great doc! I had chips in my enamel that were causing a lot of pain. My previous dentist kept saying it wasn't a big deal. I was in pain for over a year before I moved to Cambridge and saw Dr Dana. He patched me up and sent me on my way. He is very skilled and easy to get an appt with. The front office folks are so friendly. :-)

Cport J.

Yelp
I like the dentist and hygienist here, but they charge for missed appointments, and they try to make you feel bad if you have to reschedule. Maybe my Delta Dental insurance is crummy, but the gum surgery they recommended was going to be very expensive out-of-pocket.
google avatar

Polly M.

Yelp
Dr. Green and the rest of the staff are so friendly and efficient. This is the best dentistry I've ever experienced. I highly recommend.
google avatar

Dave J.

Yelp
Dr. Dana was very friendly and seemed like a nice guy. Unfortunately, I only interacted with him for maybe 60 seconds. The hygienist I had started out by chastising me for only flossing once a week and then proceeded to scrape like I've never had a scraping before. I don't think my teeth were that dirty, but yikes! I've heard from other dentists that "scaling" teeth isn't even a good idea. In the end, my teeth got cleaned, but I would try somewhere else before going here again.
google avatar

Cindy C.

Yelp
I've been going to Dr. Dana for 3 years. The hygienist there is the best I've ever had. I'm really surprised to hear about Mike H's experience. I've had a few cavities, but I started flossing and haven't had any more. This place is great because they remember you as an individual. Without insurance, a cleaning is about $95.
google avatar

Muckenfuss V.

Yelp
I hadn't gone to the dentist for a cleaning in a few years -- so naturally I was a pain for the hygienist to deal with. But I was treated with thoroughness and care. On a second visit Dr. Dana also had to deal with some chipped teeth, but he did so professionally, and -- much to my delight, given my previous experience of dentists -- quickly and painlessly. I get the sense that he doesn't overbook.
google avatar

Bill S.

Yelp
I've been going to Dana Dental twice a year for five without any problems. They keep to their schedule and they are professional. Sorry to hear that Mike H. had a bad experience.

Greg K.

Yelp
Over the past 15 years, Dr. Rick and his staff have always treated me with professionalism and care! Novocaine shots were painless (with a little gum jiggling action of sorts)... Teeth whitened had good results (bring an ipod!)... and then they had to swap out my fillings bc they didn't match... Chipped teeth sanded... sealants... extractions... Cleanings are easy, and the dentist always has a good handle on my history when he comes to check in afterwards.

Yelp
When I lived in Cambridge over a decade ago, this was my dentist. Then when I moved to Roslindale, I thought I wanted a practioner closer to my house. After trying 3 different dentists, I went back home to Cetal Square and Dana Dental. It was like i never left ! Except that this dental office is always up to date with all the stuff of modern dentistry ! The whole operation is so efficent and well run ! Lilia greets you with a warm smile and runs that office like clock work. Dr. Richard is so kind and charming you'll forget why you afe in that chair, for a moment anyyway. They take most forms of Dental Insurance and is conviently located just steps away from the Centarl Square Red Lone Stop. If you have to go to the dentist, go here !

Arnie R.

Yelp
I've been going there over 20 years. Excellent all through. ( I too have Delta Dental, but that's been no problem -- occasionally a cop-pay). Most of the staff has been there that long, so it seems a smooth-running operation. When I had pain, they fit me in. An endodontist I saw firston the weekend wanted to start root canal immediately. Monday, Dr. Dana said "That diagnosis sounds uncertain. Let me try a 10 minute gum procedure - come back tomorrow if it doesn't work". It worked, a great substitute. I've also had smooth times with crowns, a "simple" root canal, and other procedures. They've never suggested cosmetics for me. (So I don't know what was happening with the guy who had the trouble). In early visits, my gums bled a lot -- not now, probably due to flossing.

Trisanku v.

Yelp
I can't understand how such a fine dentist and friendly staff like the admirable Lelyah can get an overall rating of 3 stars! These people are incredibly nice and caring.

Michael C.

Yelp
I had my first cleaning and exam at Cambridgeport Dental this past week and thought it was great! Very gentle cleaning and Dr. Green was a pleasure to speak with. Very reasonable prices and very quick appointments. I did not have to wait very long and the receptionist was very helpful and polite! Will definitely go back for future dental care!
