Another perfect visit to the Maine Stay Inn and Camden, Maine. Once again we have thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality of innkeepers Janis and Peter Kesser. As you drive up High St., their beautiful garden is truly the highlight of the street no matter what season. As you spot their lovely historic home, built in 1802, you truly feel like you have arrived at your home away from home. Janis and Peter have thought of everything to make your stay extra special. They are so welcoming and fun to talk to! Janis has also created an amazing travel guide that you can request before your arrival.||Their lovely inn is exquisitely decorated with original fine art and comfortable furnishings. It exudes casual elegance. All of the bedrooms are beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and have everything you need. Fortunately, it is a very short and lovely walk down to the charming town and harbor.||Breakfast is another delightful experience at the Maine Stay Inn. Every morning you will enjoy a delicious 2 course breakfast. Janis is truly a gourmet cook and everything she prepares is exceptional. Peter creates the most delicious chocolate molten cookies and lavender cookies in the afternoon with coffee and tea. They really have thought of everything to make your visit unforgettable. We are sure you will look forward to returning to your charming home away from home as much as we always do!

A thoroughly enjoyable visit. Peter and Janis were excellent hosts. I describe the visit as a combination of southern hospitality mixed with beautiful Camden, which is right down the street. The rooms were spacious, clean and the private bathrooms were very well kept. The morning breakfasts were different both mornings I stayed and both were excellent. Janis is an excellent chef, and the glass walled breakfast room overlooking the expansive garden was beautiful. I really felt comfortable traveling on my own and staying at the Camden Maine Stay Inn. I would highly recommend it for others.

We recently stayed at the Maine Stay Inn in Camden, and it was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. The inn itself is stunning property that has been lovingly maintained, full of beautiful artwork, and charming details that make every corner feel special. Everything was spotless, comfortable, and so thoughtfully presented.||Our room was gorgeous, spacious, immaculately clean, and the bed was huge and incredibly comfortable. You can tell how much care goes into every detail here.||The breakfasts were truly amazing, delicious, home-cooked and beautifully presented. The homemade cookies available each day were such a lovely touch! ||What really made our stay exceptional were the hosts, Janis and Peter. They were warm, and so accommodating. We loved chatting with them, hearing stories about the history of the building and their own experiences running the inn added such a personal, memorable touch to our visit.||If you’re looking for a place that combines history, comfort, outstanding food, and genuinely wonderful hosts, Maine Stay Inn is the perfect choice. We hope to return one day.

My sister and I enjoyed a three night stay in this beautifully decorated inn. A mix of original art in various media compliments the historic ambiance of the public rooms and bed chambers. We were fortunate to share a 2-bedroom suite with a convenient private sitting room on the top floor. Our hosts were helpful, informative, and provided a perfect amount of support for us during our Maine adventure. Plate-served breakfast made us feel extra special and introduced us to a variety of local food products. This property is well-situated within walking distance to shops and restaurants.

I stayed at the Camden Maine Stay Inn for one night with friends. We felt like we were staying with family— Peter and Janis were so warm and welcoming. The inn itself is incredibly charming and our room on the top floor was so cozy! We accidentally overslept for breakfast and Janis and Peter still made us a lovely, delicious breakfast without hesitation. Bonus that the inn is a short walk to downtown Camden! We will definitely be recommending our friends and family to stay here. Can’t wait to come back :)

My titles says it all. The house itself is worth the stay with the beautiful bedrooms, sitting areas, and eating areas. Every room is a piece of art. And then there is their huge, beautiful, private gardens next to the house.|And lest I forget, Peter and Janis were the perfect hosts. Hospitable and fun. And Peter will let you know where to go to eat and sight-see.|We loved it all.

How could it be possible to have a more relaxing, cozy stay? The rooms are appointed with impeccable style and under-stated, just right elegance. No surprise, at this mirrors the approach of the innkeepers, who are so gracious and warm-hearted. Love that the rooms are chock full of their own books - the best library I’ve ever slept in! The grounds are beautiful for a little stroll - meandering paths, strategically placed sitting areas, gorgeous trees. And the homemade breakfasts are to die for. I’ve stayed at inns from California to Connecticut and many places in between, and also in Ireland, France, Canada, and Italy. This is my favorite.

My daughter and I stayed here in May. We loved the beautiful gardens, interior, cleanliness, Janis and Peters hospitably, ALL the books(!), wall art and personalized photography. The rooms are very clean and the attention to detail is amazing. The beds are comfortable. The breakfasts were incredible. On my way home I stopped and purchased the same set of dining placemats that Janis had (and recommended!). My daughter and I both played their beautiful grand piano...sometimes to a small audience. ;) The location is a peaceful short walk to the center of the town. I can't say enough about Janis and Peters desire to help us feel at home and welcome. They are loving, friendly people.

Yelp
Great inn to stay for few days. Peter and Janis are the owners. They made our stay extra special. They are friendly, caring couple and they love their house, you can tell. Every room is decorated a little different, which is fun, in my opinion. All through the house there are many art pieces that every art lover would appreciate. Breakfast is included. Janise is a great cook and she prepares delicious breakfasts. The inn is central and a walking distance from the center of this mid town. We are looking forward to coming back soon.

Yelp
We had a wonderful and relaxing time here! Janis and Peter are gracious hosts who have clearly worked hard to create a lovely and comfortable inn. The rooms are beautifully appointed and spotless. Plus, our mattress was very comfy! The breakfasts were delicious and were served in the bright and cheerful sunroom. We definitely recommend the Maine Stay Inn, and I'm sure we'll return in the future!

Yelp
This was my first bed and breakfast experience. I'm usually a private person and I don't connect with strangers right away, but this place was exceptional. Peter and Janis treated us like family and made us feel very comfortable. We got a nice welcome with info about the house and the community. The house was spotless and the room was well equipped including a modern air conditioner and heater that we can set ourselves. We enjoyed the dining area and walking outside in the garden. It is a great place to relax.

Yelp
We loved our stay at Maine Stay Inn! Peter and Janis have an immaculate, beautiful Inn located a short walk from the harbor. Their breakfasts were the best we've ever had and the gorgeous grounds of their home made for such a peaceful getaway. Thank you for your hospitality and for sharing your beautiful home with us! We especially appreciated the packet of information you provided- we hiked and sailed all in the same day!

Yelp
This B&B is my favorite part of my Maine trip! Rooms are gorgeous, super cute, has so much personality and a New England home vibe to them. Breakfast is an amazing two course meal. My mom said this: "I wish I can stay here for a week just so I can try all the different kinds of breakfast they serve!" The two breakfasts I had (poached pear, Maine blueberry pancakes, yogurt with homemade granola, and artichoke quiche) was amazing and had a local touch to it. Stay here and make two new friends with innkeepers, Roberta and Claudio! You won't regret it. I definitely plan to come back soon :)

Yelp
Very disappointed in the cancellation policy. A death in our family in Boston prevented us from staying at the Inn as part of a vacation trip to PEI. We lost over $190 for the room as " no one walked in looking for a room" so they keep the entire fee. We have no way to verify this or verify that they made the only room available on their site. They do look forward to seeing us again so but that will never happen. Please make sure you all complete your stay as apparently their cancellation policy is iron clad. They never really expressed any sympathy . Pretty cold. As a side note, our next night in PEI at the Dawson House B&B fully refunded our deposit. I guess Canadians are a bit more family oriented tan Maine folk?

Yelp
Janis and Peter are easily some of most welcoming people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I took a solo last minute trip up the coast and stayed with them for an evening, and I can't recommend them enough. The house, cooking, and conversation was all excellent. I'm sure I'll return at some point in the near future, and I can't wait to go back

Yelp
We stayed here for one night on our way from Boston to Acadia National Park and it was the perfect midway stop. We checked in a little late, I think 7:00/8:00ish and Peter was so welcoming and gave us a tour of the place and a little history. We missed dinner, and he offered to get us something, but we brought food with us from our stop at Whole Foods. Peter provided us with plates, water etc. Very nice! We met Janis in the morning as she served us a very delicious breakfast. Our bedroom was nice and comfy, bathroom was spacious. Peter and Janis were so sweet, welcoming and easy to talk to. We would definitely stay again.

Yelp
I highly recommend the Camden Maine Stay Inn- it's charming and comfortable, and conveniently located a short walk from town. This was our second time staying at the Camden Maine Stay Inn, our first with new owners Janis and Peter Kesser. They are very friendly and recommended a great restaurant for dinner. We had a delicious, very abundant breakfast (frittata, fruit, bacon, blueberry coffee cake, two kinds of juice, coffee- what else could you possibly want?) served in the charming glass enclosed breakfast room overlooking a beautiful garden with flowering dogwood trees and white wicker chairs and tables. For a family of 3, we stayed in rooms consisting of 2 bedrooms and a sitting room with a private bath. Each room had a comfortable old fashioned iron framed bed and an easy chair at the top of this pretty Inn. I would definitely stay there again!

Yelp
Now this is the B&B you expect stay in when travelling New England. With beautiful rooms, super breakfasts, and hosts that are engaging, it sets the standard for me. My wife and I stayed 2 nights and we are still raving about the location and ambiance. You have to stay here. You will NOT be disappointed.

Yelp
Great place to stay! Claudio and Roberta are friendly, knowledgeable, multi -lingual. The decor is charming (if a little frou frou for me), chairs and couches comfortable, rooms large enough to move around in, and a great bed! Tv in one common room only, free wifi. Close to the village. Great breakfast , coffee and tea any time. Beautiful, lovingly maintained house.

Yelp
Have just returned from a wonderful trip to Maine and stay 3 nights at the Main Stay Inn and loved every minute. The Maine Stay is a quintessential colonial home located on Route 1. The new owners Claudio and Roberta are lovely, as is their home. They have decorated with touches from Italy and created a cozy and clean place to stay! Breakfasts are wonderful...I recommend the combination of orange and their cranberry/blueberry juice...fabulous!

Yelp
My wife and I booked the Maine Stay in May 2010 for a trip to the 2010 Lobster Festival the first week of August. Upon arrival in Camden on Wednesday, August 8, the temperature was in the mid-high 80's, and the house had no A/C which was in the high 70's to low 80's inside the house. Claudio, the Innkeeper and Proprietor, led us to our room, which was very small, and only had a small window unit to cool the room. We set the unit all the way down as cool as it would go, and it still did not cool the room after running all nite long. My wife woke up with her back hurting from the mattress. I reported our problems to Claudio, and told him we would be moving on to another Hotel since we had such an unpleasant nite. Claudio told me he would refund our money for the next nite that we were not going to stay if he could rent the room to someone else. Well, he did rent the room, and then reneged on our deal to refund my money. So if you want to stay in a small 80 degree room, and wake up with a backache for $225.00, the Mainstay is the place for you. You will even get lied to for free! This was the worse part of our trip, that was very pleasant until our encounter with The Mainstay. STAY AWAY FROM THE MAINE STAY!!!
