What a treat! While visiting town, I was able to score a last minute ticket to one of the Bay Chamber Concert Series. I attended the Geoff Nuttall Tribute Concert and witnessed an emotional event that brought some tears, and much applause throughout the evening. The building and its architecture are stunning, the history... captivating, and the acoustics...top notch. Not a bad seat in the house, easy stage viewing, and the oppulance inside will consume your attention and have your eyes wandering about. So don't be rude, pay attention to the stage. I highly recommend you attend an event here. You'll be glad ya did...and hey, dress yourself up a bit for it. Your posture will immediately improve! Enjoy

I was here as a performer and wanted to leave a review anyways. The opera house isn’t new but it’s extremely well maintained. The staff are helpful and kind and they were very generous with green room snacks and service. Thanks again, Dave! :-)

thoughtful and considerate people! I won 2 tickets and when I asked if I could donate my two tickets to some folks who rarely get out to see anything entertaining, I got a callback from them later and they added a ticket for me to join the two folks that I sought to donate my tickets to. How very thoughtful. I highly recommend their venue.

What an incredible night at the Camden Opera House! We came to see Chris Ross open for The Mallett Brothers Band, and both performances were absolutely phenomenal. Chris Ross brought raw emotion and powerful songwriting, while The Mallett Brothers lit up the stage with their energy and musicianship. The venue itself is a gem—beautifully preserved, intimate, and full of character. The acoustics were fantastic, and every seat felt close to the action. We’ll definitely be back for more shows. This place is a true treasure in Maine!

I highly recommend visiting the Camden Opera House. Extremely intimate as there are only 300* seats. A balcony meant entirely for a special perspective awaits those looking for that aww inspiring perspective.

Yelp
Camden Opera House is a great place to perform or see a show! All the staff members are awesome and make rehearsals efficient and productive. The venue is well equipped with comfortable seats, clean restrooms, quality sound, and great lighting and projection. The backstage area is well-kept and comfortable for performers too. Thanks to the people of Camden Opera House for working hard to make so many dance recitals possible this time of year! It's great to have such a nice venue to share all the hard work that goes into these productions all year long.

Yelp
We attended a performance by Hymn for Her in the intimate Blue Cafe located on the upper floor. The venue is very informal and seating is on folding chairs. The performance itself was quite good given the fact it was a free event.

Yelp
Cute venue in the even cute mainstreet of Camden with gilded shopfront. The opera house is intimate and has good acoustics. Event staff are warm and gracious.

Yelp
What a beautiful little opera house!! ****** From their website: "This grand building is a somewhat unexpected surprise to many that walk off the streets of bustling downtown Camden and find themselves in the halls of an exquisitely renovated Victorian opera house. Grand chandeliers, a lovely horseshoe balcony, antique moldings, detailed painterly restoration of friezes and beautifully replicated gilt stenciling are what you will experience. In addition, our 500-seat auditorium along with three lovely and diverse meeting/function rooms, strives to offer up-to-date technological resources to every user." ****** While I cannot speak for the meeting/function rooms, the actual house of the theatre is stunning. What you would expect to find for a Victorian Opera House. I was very very comfortable being in there, and wanted to just hop on stage and belt out an aria or 2... heck, I'd just do a recital! I had the opportunity to visit the Opera House with my 7th/8th grade Chorus students for a student-show through Bay Chamber Music. We got to see Boston-based Overboard, an a cappella group. While the theatre is designed for non-amplified music performances, the use of mic's for this show didn't make anything sound too harsh, which was quite nice. It's a cozy 500-seat house, but not too uncomfortably cozy. You definitely don't feel as if you're almost on top of your neighbor. I would *love* to see a full-scale opera done in this Opera House. It would definitely be worth the 1.5 hour drive to Camden!
