Camden Passage, Islington

Still a delightful street. Great to return after some 25 years away and find it hadn't been taken over by bland chains. Plenty of independent cafés, restaurants and wine bars - as well as a quirky selection of boutiques and stalls. Can get incredibly busy - so worth visiting reasonably early in the morning when the stores are just opening and the crowds have yet to gather (or late in the evening for gelato and hot chocolate).

A lovely little street with boutiques, cafes, Bakeries. On Wednesdays and Saturdays it hosts a flea market. Thoroughly enjoyed browsing.

It’s the ideal spot to visit on a sunny day, with plenty of charming local shops and cozy coffee houses. Our go-to routine is to start with breakfast at The Breakfast Club, pick up a pastry from Buns From Home, and then check through some antique finds. That’s what we call the perfect weekend.

This is now my favourite market, I came on Sunday which is a big mistake, majority shops in the market open on Wednesday and Saturday! I’ve heard some shops only take cash so make sure you at least have a tenner. I bought a ring which was supposed to be £5, but the owner was so nice and said my ring is small and £3 would do. This place gives different vibe to the other touristy markets, I love waking through the alleyways, and things here are more reasonably priced. You’ll find lots of vintage jewelleries, ornaments, cups etc.

Last here 30 years ago, the market is much smaller than it used to be, now there are lots of boutique type shops and lots of high end coffee shops, guess that's gentrification for you!

All the stores are tiny, packed with stuff and impossible to get in. When you do get in one, the shop keepers are cold and rude. One clothing shop I was able to get into had an old man that just stared at me the whole time and didn’t utter a word nor cracked a smile. The man reeked of cigarettes making the whole shop smell. Terrible treatment by people in a service/people-oriented industry. Don’t have a public facing job if you don’t like all walks of life.

We were thrilled to win a tea tasting experience via the in-store raffle. We thoroughly enjoyed the session and were really impressed with our host Anna. She came across as knowledgeable and really enthusiastic about the brand and the samples. She was really engaging too. In fact, the session was a highlight of our mini break! We were so impressed and surprised that she has only been with the company for a few weeks. What a great appointment! It was a wonderful experience! This store is really charming and definitely worth a visit! Currently drinking Gingerbread Chai which has (temporarily) knocked off Mojitea off my top spot!

Really nice area. Liked it a lot. You can enjoy your time to have a look and touch the things you like / wanna to buy. I would like to visit it again. Btw the name is quite confusing for foreigners. It’s not next to Camden market!! 😂😂 And unluckily, it was a rainy afternoon. Many shops are closed 🥲

I love to shop the antique market in here. You can find some lovely vintage jewelry, clothes & glassware. I've found charming items I HAD to have every visit! Do bring cash as one or two places do not take credit cards.

This is the most informal yet formal method of trade. The Camden passage is hidden away from the main street. At first one thinks these are only average everyday goods markets. NO! Its got b***** things I've only read of in books and seen in the movies. I saw rare coins from the revolutionary period of Russia, architectural tool boxes from the Victorians, ivory and pearl........exquisite jewellery and even parisian fashionable hats and hair accessories. Oh, you must visit. Its truly marvellous. You can bargain and the sellers are very calm and composed. Its a feast this place.

Ooh I love a good market I do and Camden Passage Market is a right goodun. Perfect for vintage, antique and specifically jewellery mooching. The passage is open with a huge amount of boutiques and a few stalls every day, but market days proper are on Wednesdays and Saturdays. There are specialist stalls here and lively characters from grizzly old men to women that wouldn't look out of place with a crystal ball and tassled shawl selling their wares. Most of the antiques dealers do overseas shipping and it's great to have such a selection because the prices are competitive. This market has been going since the 1960s and is one of my favourites in London, I very rarely leave it without some little oddity to add to my magpie collection. It's also in a great location because after a spot of shopping there are countless places on the passage and in the rest of the area to eat, drink and be merry.

Rounding out my Camden Market trifecta... More cheapass t-shirts & rickety stalls offering the same wares you've seen at all the other stalls around Camden Market. Maybe they think by the 20th time you see an item, you're willing to purchase it? If you're a treasure hunter who loves to search out vintage shops & Salvation Army stores, this would be your nirvana For me? Not so much

Got junk in your trunk? So did these folks, apparently. Yet still, this little passage market charms my pants off. Perhaps it's because I can fill up on so many of my local tasty food and drink faves while browsing frilly antiques -- jewelry and vases are better browsed with a pint from the pub, while lamp shades and shoes go down a treat with fresh FroYo. Vintage tea sets and mirrors terrify me, but for those of you who don't suffer from inexplicable fears, they are here in abundance as well, and I'd recommend Earth's best brownie for this venture. The bravest of us delve into the vintage wedding section, but only armed with security of the finest of London Chocolatiers in hand-reaching proximity. This market is a treat for a lazy Saturday afternoon stroll, post pub, but pre-dessert.

This place is one of the cutest markets in London. It's not really a market, just a shambles of vintage stalls and shops that spill out onto the pavement. Don't get me wrong, I love this place with all it's doddery ladies and gents polishing their jewels and charging £45 for a small square of stiff fabric that they call a 1940s hat. The browsing possibilities are endless, with cute cafe's and lunch spots to take pit stops in and designer boutiques spotted around that you can pop in on if you get a bit cols. It's just a wonderful place to shop if you aren't on the look for anything particular, as I say a "moochy pooch around the shoppy whoops".

I've gone to this market for 30 years, it keeps getting smaller and smaller but there is always something to find and the shops (when they are open) have a good selection of silver and silver-plate. Saturdays may be better than Wednesdays now. Short walk from Angel Tube station.

This is a strange but cute little market. Although I like to stroll through it, it is very rare that i find something I would actually like to buy here. The strip is quaint and the vibe is really nice, I just think that sometimes you can spend a day at charity shops and be more rewarded. I guess I'm not really in the market for most of the things on offer here. If you like jewellery and other bits and pieces then this market might be for you. I believe that any market is worth a visit though, you never know what you will find.

Lovely market this, lovely and handily located just behind bustling Upper Street in Islington. Don't go expecting an expansive market on par with Portobello or Spitalfields though, there can't be more than a dozen stalls along Camden Passage on market day although the stalls that are here are generally infinitely better than your standard market fare. Basically, if you're a fan of vintage and antique jewellery, accessories, books or clothes, you'll love the Camden Passage Market. In the market for an original Art Deco beaded purse? You'll find one for around £10 at Camden Passage Market. Vintage periodicals? Ditto. Unused thirties Mother's Day cards as an antidote to the garishness of their modern counterparts? Visit Camden Passage, I guarantee you won't leave empty handed.

I think this twice weekly antiques market is one of the best remaining independent places in Islington. It bills itself as a specialist antiques market and most of the shops that form the little warren of this market sell antiques from jewellery to furniture and a new specialist wooden box shop. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, traders with open air stalls sell less high quality and less high priced goods, predominantly clothes and jewellery but some other bits as well. There's a convivial atmosphere in the late afternoon on a Saturday when many of the shop owners and stall holders pop to the Camden Head pub and start the evening celebrations early. It's a really great place for a browse or to buy unusual presents and there are several nice little cafes along the way as well where you can get a restorative hot chocolate. This is also one of my favourite places to buy vintage clothes as the vendors really know their stuff and have some great unusual pieces.

This is probably one of my favorite markets in all of London. It's got such character! Great antiques, knickknacks and vintage clothing and not at the extortionate prices you'd expect. I feel like every visit is an adventure because there are so many nooks and crannies to search and explore- I find something wildly different every single time.

Great place to people watch and grab some street food! I like the guy who sells fresh squeezed Orange Juice for 1-2 pounds. He will juice it, and pour it right in a jug for you. Baked goods, ethnic food, good coffee shops, and a lot going on near the Camden canal. Very funky place to go hang out.

Took a stroll through the market on a Saturday afternoon. The vintage clothing is a bit pricey, but there are lots of great antiques and knick-knacks at reasonable prices - jewellery, books, candlesticks, door-knockers, tea cups, toys, statuettes, dining appliances I didn't know existed... It's great for wandering and people-watching even if you aren't looking to buy anything. Aside from the market, Camden Passage has lots of great shops and restaurants to enjoy. Great atmosphere.

I really like this tiny market located in the cute Camden Passage. It one of those markets you wouldn't plan to go on purpose, but you are happy to spot if it's on your way. The selection is about proper vintage, lots of jewelry and accessories, some books and just old dusty stuff. Once I bought and plastic ring that was missing the other "diamond" just because I thought the granny who was selling it was so adorable. It is also worth checking out all the vintage shops close by because these are good places to spot treasures.

Yes its a veritable mish-mash of all vintage and antiques can be found here. On sunnier days the market extends outside but there are plenty of shops tucked away for all things old,collectable and antique-from clothes and jewellery to decor and handbags. One of my favourite places :)

Camden Passage open usually from Wednesdays to Saturday is a fascinating hotch-potch of people and culture and full of fascinating collectables and cheap eating places. I think its a good place to see London from a more casual point.

Brilliant little lone survivor of original islington life after loads of knocky downery in other areas of this remodelled borough. Get everything here, from second hand clothes to 5 star restaurants, 60s pop prints, kimonos, african waistcoats, ww2 memorabilia, crystal, silver, gold, and various rubbishy books and videos. Brilliant for anyone who likes a rummage, bring your mum here, she'll love it.

Most reviews are from a decade ago The place has totally changed Very few antique stalls and few antique shops which are very expensive. In 2018 it is a hipster 30 something cafe hangout with some upmarket clothes and food shops. If you want a cheap cafe where the working class locals hang out go to Duncan Street, first on right from tube station towards market. Good food, friendly staff and comfortable sofas. At the end of the road you can find the canal and walk for miles Much nicer.
