I was there last weekend, a very large ski resort, it has everything, a variety of parking from $12, which is a little far, to $35, which is right at the entrance, lots of very nice staff, always providing excellent service with a smile, the guests on site were also very nice, everyone helps if someone falls. We were there on the last weekend of the season, so there were only 3 lifts, but the variety of trails is wide for all levels, ages, etc., I will definitely go back there next year, there is a bar and restaurant inside the site (a sports bar like that) it was amazing, great prices and good quality! In conclusion: it is suitable for all types of people, young people, couples, families, etc. A very interesting place worth trying!

Oh all the staff are so friendly and helpful!!! So absolutely amazing!! They had activities for the kids too! One night was a magic night with a magician! Then they had arts and crafts and last but not least a person who came to talk about snakes and actually brought live snakes!!! Amazing! All of the staff super awesome to the kiddos and just wow!!!

Camelback is doing neat stuff and inviting the community. Lots of great events, many open to the public. Firework Fridays all summer long. They open the gates at 7:30. And very kind and helpful staff.

It was ok, food was basic. Buffet was overpriced for the food they served. The hot tub was cool, and it was very crowded. Not much to do as far as night life for adults after 8pm.

I should have read the reviews beforehand, as all the negative feedback turned out to be true. I’ve never been to a ski resort where I had to pay for parking, and the prices were outrageous: $45 or $50 for premium parking. To make matters worse, I later discovered a hidden/further $12 general parking lot which was not offered from the beginning. Buying tickets online is cheaper than in person, but the process of creating an account is unnecessarily complicated—be prepared for the hassle. Costs were steep across the board: $120 for the lift ticket, $70 for rentals, $50 for parking, and $25 for food/drinks. The resort’s operations were disappointing. Only 1 out of 2 magic carpets was working, and several lifts were down, creating long lines with no staff to manage the flow where two lines merged into one. Seating areas were scarce, both for resting or simply leaving your gear while entering bars or restaurants. The slopes were fantastic in the morning but became dangerously icy in the afternoon. The only positive thing was that the employees help with putting on your boot rentals. While the resort is large and can accommodate a lot of people, it leads to overcrowding, making it difficult and unsafe to navigate the slopes with so many people falling. For the price, the comfort and experience do not match the cost.

We had a great time snowboarding at camelback. It’s about 2 hours from the city and 20-30 minutes from the Poconos. We went on Saturday and was pretty busy - as expected. But the rental section was very organized and efficient. The prices do go up closer the the date , so I recommend buying your tickets in advance ! The lift lines were about 10-15 minutes wait time. trails were well groomed but got icy towards the late afternoon. Really cool lodge on top of the mountain with nice views , good food & drinks. There’s even live music in the main lodge at night.

If I could give this a 0 STAR RATING, I WOULD. This was our 5th time staying at Camelback. We've always enjoyed coming here with our kids and decided to bring the parents. The first day we got there, they check us in WITH NO WORKING WATER IN THE ROOMS. No running sink water, you couldn't flush the toilet (we were filling recycling buckets with hotel ice and melting the ice to make water to flush) and all the restaurants at the resort were closed. After traveling most of the morning to get there, my family all had to use the restroom and felt gross, not being able to flush. I couldn't even get my kids food to comfort them during this crazy time... but of course, the water park was still up and running. We decided to do that, since there wasn't anything else to do, until they fixed the water issue. We figured we would give them some time to fix the issue; considering we've always had amazing trips there before, we wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. The water park was unkempt and gross. The floors were black and slippery with slime. We almost slipped and fell by the lazy river... something that would easily be fixable by using a power washer. Also we noticed the maintenance of the rides and the dirt/rust every where. My son actually had nightmares of the place falling apart the first night... and I hardly got any sleep, trying to soothe my child. The water STILL wasn't working that night, so we all had to go to bed with the dirty pool water on us. The next day we woke up to having water... but it was cold. We all took lukewarm showers and thought maybe the water just needs some time to heat up. Went about our day, and the water was shut off AGAIN. We complained to the front desk and they offered to give us a discount when we left. My kids still wanted to try tubing so we made the decision to wait and see what the water situation would be... the staff was very friendly and reassuring and as I said, we've never had problems with them before, so we stayed. They continued to have water issues on and off throughout our trip. It also smelled like they possibly added extra chlorine to the waterpark... my family and I use a coconut oil to protect our bodies from the pool water and it came off within seconds... ALL 6 OF US had SUPER dry skin; it was red, burning and peeling for 2 weeks after our trip. We also had to pay and extra $25/night for parking, which was new for us. We've never had to pay for parking. I told the manager at the front desk, that's an extra $75 I could have spent somewhere else for my kids to DO something else, especially with the water issues. She was kind enough to give us some extra arcade cards. But in the end, we ended up paying FULL PRICE. They did not discount our bill AT ALL. I've tried calling AT LEAST 8 TIMES, left messages for managers, they said they put me " on the priority list" (this was A MONTH AGO!) AND STILL NO CALL BACK OR OFFER OF DISCOUNT. From what I understand, there has been new management since 2023. I hope David Makarsky's team sees this. If there is ANY chance of return or good recommendations, we need a full refund. Until then, I wouldn't recommend Camelback to anyone!!! They should have shut the hotel down and never checked us in if they were having water issues, considering water is a NECESSITY and you need it for sanitary purposes!!! My family and I will definitely be reporting Camelback to the Better Business Bureau.

Yelp
It's so much fun to go after dark! They have some lights up and a hot chocolate shack and they had a bar that said online closed at 8 but it closed early. They had a few fire pit style tables some were working some weren't. We noticed the later the night got the less they fixed the snow on the slopes and the bumpier it because. But the lines moved really fast
google avatar

Krisa T.

Yelp
Wow, all the reviews reflect the exact same experience that I had. I was really disappointed that they're were only four lifts operating, four. Out of those four, one was going at a decent speed while the other lifts were half the speed. What made it even worse were the unorganized lines plus the long wait time just to get onto the lift. Like the many other scathing reviews have stated, all your time spent was getting onto the lift where our average time was a 15-20 minute wait and I only got to experience one lift. A little tip: The fastest way we got on the only fast lift was to stay in the furthest left side. Got on the lift faster than those who were on the right side and was in the line before us. I had a couple friends who were hitting the slopes for the first time so we were disappointed to find that we paid just to hike up the hill for the bunny slope since the conveyor lift was inactive. Now the slopes themselves were not great either. The east cost slopes are known to be incomparable to the west coast and that rings true at Camelback as there were patches of ice throughout which made it difficult to maneuver. Overall, you don't get what you paid for. Total runs for our group was three. The long wait to going down the slope payoff was not worth it. Purchasing passes the day of due to commitment issues is costly but lack of lifts, long waits, and icy conditions did not make it worth it at all.

Yelp
I have been skiing all my life in mountains big and small, and Camelback has to be the worst experience in my life. I am lucky to have come out of the mountain alive. I hopefully keep my ski friends as friends. 1. Dangerous Ski Environments: Distracted skiers on selfie sticks, skiing while making phone calls, crashing into lift lines, and etc. Behavior that gets people a warning, if not kicked out is commonplace here. 2. Bad Mountain Management: Only 50% of the mountain was open when neighboring ones were 90%+. Snow making simply wasn't happening on the unopened trails, but there was a burst pipe leaking water that the locals said had been busted for 2 weeks. 3. Insufficient Staff = Long Waits: From long lift lines to crazy waits for food at the dining hall, the staff was 60% below what they needed to be. You had single riders going up 6 person lifts because no one was managing the lift lines at times. We had to chase after wait staff after not being seen at our table for 20 min. The staff was lovely and tried so hard, but there wasn't enough of them. I am never coming back. My friends are never coming back. Everyone I met on the chair lift who traveled for this mountain is never coming back. I don't want a response from Camelback apologizing. I want transparency why you cost so much yet deliver so little value and create a dangerous ski environment. Please do better. In the meantime, I recommend everyone else avoid this mountain in the interest of your physical, financial, and social wellbeing.

Yelp
Came for the week of New Year's with our 5 kids and extended family. It is very frustrating to have so few runs open, especially when the competition (Jack Frost, Big Boulder) is all showing almost completely open (on Saturday 1/4, Jack Frost/Big Boulder combined had all but 5 trails opened; Shawnee has all but 5 runs open). More frustrating is on super-crowded Saturday, there were only 2 non-bunny hill lifts open causing massive waits to get on a lift. Camelback could easily be opening several other lifts that service the same limited 13 trails that are open but remain shut down. Even more frustrating is to see the weather for the next 10 days won't go above freezing and the entire left side of the mountain had multiple runs not blowing any snow at all. Additionally, in several interactions with guest services and ticket staff, any time that a question/inquiry was asked (e.g. I would like to schedule lessons, where do I check pick up our season passes), the staff directed me to conduct these activities on their app. I'm not certain what instruction staff receives from management, but based on my experience it seems they are only capable to answer 1-2 limited questions and the rest gets deflected to the app or online (both of which have poor user interfaces). In this technology-driven age, it is a nice touch to be able to talk to a real human particularly when staff is available and working. We all have season passes and have committed to spending our family time at this resort this season, but is very frustrating and disappointing to observe what comes across as an apathetic approach from Camelback to providing a quality experience for guests, particularly when there are several other quality places to spend our money, time and resources in the Poconos for skiing.

Yelp
They charge for parking. I have been to several ski resorts in Buffalo and California and I haven't seen people charging for parking. The not too near parking is $35. The far parking is $12. However it was very beginner's friendly for someone who skied for 3 times like me. Their bunny hill is short enough and has a lift. They didn't have any carpet lift though.

Marin J.

Yelp
Bartenders were extremely dismissive despite low volume at the bar and my group waited an outrageous amount of time for draft beer. Service was a 1/10 but the Blue Moon hit the spot

Nicolle Z.

Yelp
People who ski at camelback should know for safety! The reason CBK opened late and still doesn't have several lifts running is because they were NO inspected. AND DIDN'T PASS!!! Lift shut off a few days ago and were on there for 3 hours before then getting downloaded! Please stay safe!

Yelp
This place just suuuux big time now. Lift lines are ridiculously long, under staffed and poorly trained, grooming non existent. I regret spending my hard-earned money here but I hope others heed these abysmal reviews to help save theirs or spend it elsewhere and get much better value.

Yelp
Fun mountain in the Poconos that has the weekend crowds and is better during the mid-week. They have a lot of fun trails, good lift system, and food amenities on site. My problem with the weekends are that the skiers/snowboarders ski how they drive in Philly/Jersey on the beginner/intermediate trails where people are still learning how to ski. It can be a bit reckless. Their ski school is great and I heavily recommend them for sure!

John D.

Yelp
It took us 1 hour to get on the slopes because the closed all the lifts at the same time. They kept sending us from one lift to another. Very disappointing!
google avatar

Nicole B.

Yelp
No free parking!!! I wanted to check out this resort on a random weekday and despite there being plenty of open space, you need to pay between $12 and $30 to park on top of lift tickets. It was my first time here and I will never be back. Small, overcrowded, out of control skiiers and boarders, bad layout and overall highway robbery. Go anywhere else but here!
google avatar

Chris D.

Yelp
I think the long term Camelback fans are looking for more transparency as to what is happening this year. There is a chance that you can convince some to support the mountain again, but it's hard when they feel cheated. I think the locals pass and children's pass was amazing but that excitement dwindled each time I brought my kids this year. Temps have been great for snowmaking yet there are only 5 trails open from the top. Rumors about lifts failing inspection, not enough staffing, not enough equipment for the staff you have, not having enough water for snowmaking, and the fact that you're blowing on trails that can only be reached with an inoperable lift are scaring people away

Yelp
My family and I stayed at camel back resorts. For 3 dee's the reason I gave this place the one star I have to give is because Yelp makes me. My daughter is only 1 year old and still in diapers. Our room was never cleaned while we stayed there. We were never given fresh towels. Even though room service was three doors away each day we were there. On our last night I had to walk down to the lobby and beg for towels in front of everyone in the lobby. I don't like or condone begging in public. Also our trash cans were never emptied so by the last night corner to corner of our room smelled like diapers. Also the heating / air conditioner unit in the room squealed the entire night so I pretty much got 7 hours sleep altogether over the 3 day period we stayed at this resort. Customer service is the last thing this place practices in fact they seem to expect employees satisfaction. Ive gotten better service at hourly rate hotels.

John M.

Yelp
It's Jan3 and all the other mountains within 50 miles are half or more better. CAMELBACK, not so much. Can't afford to hire snowmakers, don't sell tickets for full price. Back in the day, tickets cost less than full price when you only have a handful of trails open. You can do better. Stop being greedy and serve your customer base. And you charge for parking? Not gonna have returning customers at this pace.

Erin C.

Yelp
The room Took wayyyy to long to be ready all the arcade games are rigged and half the water park games are closed
google avatar

Francisco V.

Yelp
Note: I did not stay at the resort. I only did skiing. Went skiing for the first time in my life. Have to say, I enjoyed it much more than what I expected. Make sure that you do the ski lift ticket purchase first, and make sure that they check your ticket correctly during the equipment rental phase. I had a bad time during the second day when they thought I was someone else and I had to leave and make the line an additional time because they didn't look at my card correctly. Aside from that? Spectacular (aside from getting injured...). Instructors for ski lessons were extremely patient. Bunny slope area was very lenient. Ended up being able to do up to intermediate slopes by the end of the weekend. Snow machines were always on, even on Friday when the snow flurries were rampant. Would definitely go back. May try snowboarding next.

Yelp
Took a trip out to the Poconos over the snowy weekend. General admission parking was 12$, and not too far of a walk to the entrance. There were lots of kiosks for printing out tickets, which went very smoothly. I had trouble getting my lift ticket to scan from inside my jacket pocket even with nothing else in it, so I had to take it out every time I went on the lift. This is a smaller mountain than some other places I've gone to, but it is a good spot if you are a beginner or a family going with children. Unfortunately, there were limited trails and lifts open this weekend, so the main lift had some longer lines. The trails that were open were groomed nicely and had a decent amount of fresh powder snow on them while it was snowing outside. It was nice to get back to skiing this season.
google avatar

Ashley D.

Yelp
Absolute terrible experience... booked our lift tickets online get to the kiosk they are unable to print so we are directed to the guest services line of 100+ people an hour later we have our key cards. Next get to the rental line which ended up being another hour line. Finally finished and tried to get a locker SOLD OUT... After skiing my day ended by waiting in my wet socks in the equipment return for my husband to grab all of our snow gear from the truck. My toddlers first experience was ruined from extremely disorganized long lines & rude unhelpful staff. Also shoutout to the parking attendant Max who started cussing and became irate when my husband didn't turn out of our $60 Parking lot fast enough. Staying home & flushing $500 down the toilet would have been a more pleasant experience. Won't recommend or return this place is a complete joke. * emailed the resort twice....no response save your money don't go here.

Yelp
We live in central PA and used to go to Camelback as kids to go skiing, so we were really excited to go there for the weekend to celebrate my nephew's birthday. Although the hotel and grounds are well kept, pretty much everything else was awful. When we got there, we wanted to use the indoor waterpark but were told that the waterslides and lazy river were closed due to lack of staffing. Fine, we'll hop on the shuttle and go to the outdoor park, even though we were really looking forward to the indoor one (Aquatopia) and the tickets for that park are more expensive. When we got to the outdoor park the line was insanely long. When we got to the front of the line the attendant said we had to have printed tickets or something; our email confirmation was not good enough. So, off to another line at the guest services office. On the way there, a few people said their tickets to the outdoor park were comped (rightfully so) because the slides and lazy river were closed. We asked for ours to be comped as well when we finally got to the front of the guest services line, but a scared young employee said he just couldn't do it. Annoying. My husband, son, parents and me went back to Aquatopia because we were so annoyed by all the chaos at the outdoor park. My brother and his family stayed at the outdoor park. My sister in law later told me that one of the workers yelled at my nephew and made him super upset? which is crazy because he is the most respectful, well behaved kid I ever met, literally. ANYWAY.. We get back to Aquatopia.. the slides and lazy river finally opened up at like, 4pm? While walking around I saw a dirty band aid and part of someone's weave laying on the side of the pool - yikes! Also, the food sucked and is so over priced it's ridiculous. My mom ordered a hot dog at Aquatopia. Seemingly a simple item to cook and serve warm but alas, that did not happen. We later went to dinner at one of the restaurants there and while the staff was super nice and helpful, they did mess up our order. The breakfast sandwich at the cafe in the lobby was cold, and the macarons were like $6 for one and they were not even good. Want to sit around one of the outdoor fire pits? That will run you $100. Everyone in my party was so disappointed. This place is so expensive, and I understand that it takes a lot to keep it safe for everyone. I also understand people call off and you have to close stuff. But, we kindly explained all of this to "Kevin" the "manager" at the front desk and he offered to give us free passes to the outdoor park. My brother's family came all the way from CT so they were not interested and Kevin just didn't have any other options for us. Kevin claimed he would get back to us and never did, also ignored my email. A+ customer service, Kevin. Bottom line: Save yourself getting completely ripped off by this scam of a hotel and go to Kalahari or Great Wolf Lodge.

David S.

Yelp
Its already late January and still they only have barely half of their trails open and today, only 2 lifts to the top of the mountain. Also they charge for parking while no other resorts that I've been to does. Never again!

Dailey T.

Yelp
This mountain is extremely unorganized. I went with my ski club and all the passes they gave us didn't work. This resulted in us waiting in hour long guest services lines to which they then would redirect us somewhere else. I drove over an hour here to waste a night. This is a recurring problem. I love wasting my time and money to stand around.
google avatar

Nicole B.

Yelp
Haven't been on skiis in many many years. I was nervous at first then I got my groove back!!! This was a good azz time with my new ski buddies!!i would say the night skiing was great!!! The slopes had good signage so you could stay on the correct path. We went during the week and it was not crowded at all. The lodge was cute had a sandwich it wasn't bad and the drinks were a nice pour. Overall I really enjoyed myself.

T C.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my experience at the Camelback ski resort. I went with a group of 29 women. I personally skiiec on the green and blue slopes after it rained the previous day. The slopes had man-made snow on it, which helped with the skidding down the mountain. I went on a Saturday and it was pretty crowded, which was nice to see people from all demographics represented at this location, but it was hard when I was on the easier slopes because there were many people learning for the first time. I loved the food options that they had available. They ranged from sandwiches, to mac & cheese, to burgers and salad at the Amazon go check out restaurant. They also had pho and some other options as well. I really enjoyed the Belgian waffle that I had when I was on my last ski run. However, they ran out of all hot beverages which was unfortunate. I would recommend going to this location because of the kind staff at the lower level, ski boots and ski rentals. However, I heard from the ladies that I was with that the lessons could've been better because there was (teenage) young staff teaching a big group

Yelp
We had an amazing stay. The kids really enjoyed so much. I did have an issue with the website upon booking so had to call. Kelly was great, very friendly. We opted for the king premier suite with balcony and it was gorgeous. Clean rooms. Beautiful view. We were on the 6th floor and didn't even have to ask (I prefer higher rooms!) We arrived at 1230 pm and did our precheck in at the desk. Fortunately, our room was ready but in the event your room isn't ready you can use the Waterpark so make sure you have your swim stuff easily accessible. Check in is 4 pm. They'll text you your room info when it is ready. You can also use the Waterpark the day of check out until 8 pm but we decided not to. It was quite packed as we were leaving. The food was mediocre and expensive (we didn't come for the food so no biggie) the service was friendly, kind, fast, efficient no complaints & makes up for the prices. I've come to the realization at this point in my life with travel that resort prices can be very expensive and don't set expectations too high, particularly with family resorts. Parking is $25/night with $45 for valet. There is loading/unloading parking for 15 min. It was all worth it to see my children so happy and smiling. The extra stuff was great too, esp Lasertron that was a huge hit. Kids loved it. We did the space escape room which was fun. We did mostly Waterpark & arcade which was more than enough for our 2 night stay! Can't wait to come back again!

Susan S.

Yelp
DO NOT waste money on a lift ticket at this area. Very few trails open, some open trails route you to the beginner lift so you can ride up the beginner chair to be able to ride to the top of the mountain again. Best get to the bottom part of the day was the 8 inches of cold water you needed to walk through to get to the bottom lift. Four hours after I complained about it they made no effort to do anything about it. I'm sure I was not the only person with wet ski boots. This area is making NO effort for any customer service. After picking up my season pass a while ago they decided that they were no good so we got to wait in line for a new one. The office was pleasant but every person in there was in there for at least 5 minutes.

Kelly C.

Yelp
very crowded with many new skiers who were reckless - ski patrol does nothing to create a safe environment. also was doubke charged for lift tickets and had to dispute with my credit card company. Won't be back

Wenyuan S.

Yelp
their system doesn't work. I booked ski and rental tickets online, they can see it in their system, but the lift ticket they print kept saying invalid at the lift. Four hours and multiple times talking to the guest service and the issue was not resolved. I want a refund, they said all sales are final and they can only give me ticket for another day. I asked to talk to the manager. She said she can refund lift but not rental because it was already checked out. This is ridiculous that I have to pay for their system error. I insisted on seeing higher manager and then they agreed to refund me for the day. Every time seeing guest service was 40 minutes in the queue. A ton of people are having issues.

Vin R.

Yelp
We stayed at the resort over night - we had some issues with the room. Upon checkout I mentioned this to the representative and she said to send an email. I sent TWO emails with all details and have not received a response. Very poor customer servic.
google avatar

Samantha P.

Yelp
Due to shuttle delays and differing directions from staff members, we didn't get to tubing until 45 minutes into our time slot. Once at guest services, we asked for either partial refund or extension on our time due to delays caused by the resort. The employee was rude and extremely unhelpful. This ruined my experience overall and I would not recommend the resort to anyone. I then proceeded to reach out via email as they requested and have yet to hear back. This was 2 weeks ago.

Will K.

Yelp
absolutely atrocious that they are allowed to charge anything at all for what one could consider a massive hill. outside of black bear every other lift is so slow. you'll spend more time on the lift than actually skiing. the trail markings make zero sense. I've skied Stratton and sugarbush many times where I consider to be my home mountains I understand that that this is no Stratton but damn. the blacks are blues the blues are greens and then randomly youll have a green that's actually more a blue or a black that should be a green. it's truly awful skiing any where else is much nicer compared to this dumpster fire that's a "resort".
google avatar

Yelp
109$ for lift tickets per day on New Year's Eve and the Saturday before. First day I started to snowboard around 2pm and just figure the mountain wasn't that groomed and there wasn't much snow because I was late. So went back out there Sunday bright and early and I kid you not they didn't blow any snow or groom any of the trails. Spent 218$ to only have 3 trails open and they couldn't even keep up with those ones. Very disappointed in what was my favorite mountain.

Yelp
This is what I sent to Camelback as well as BBB. Good Morning, We have been to your resort 5 or so times over the past 3 years. We came with just our family the first time but had so much fun we invited other families along. That is a lot of $ over the years. This time I had several problems. On Friday night about 11 pm, someone from another room threw sandwiches that landed on my balcony hitting my glass slider. Meat, cheese, and bread were all over the balcony. I called Guest Services and housekeeping, and the problem was never addressed. The food stayed there and bugs collected. It was gross. There was even lettuce on the glass door! I approached a public safety officer, and she had me text her the photos I took of the balcony. Still, it was never cleaned up! The question is why didn't she go directly to housekeeping and have them clean it up right away. It stayed on the balcony all day. Secondly, children ran up and down the hall until 2 am. I called again about midnight but still they continued and the issue was never addressed. Finally, we originally rented a family cabana, but part of our party got sick and could not make it. I asked at check-in to change to a smaller cabana and was told they were all booked. As I walked around the park, I saw 4 or 5 smaller cabanas available. I did take pictures of the vacant cabanas. That was not cool. We rented the cabana on 12/16 under the name Alan Hayes. I would appreciate a call back about my stay. The dates are 12/15-17. Have received no call or reply.

Yelp
We have been loyal to CBK for over a decade; however, this will likely be our last season here. Camelback Mountain has always struggled with weather and prioritizing the opening of their trails. Sometimes main trails never open, such as Birches, which is an important long, beginner trail. I mistakenly purchased the $549 season pass this year and we are so annoyed that yesterday (1/13/25) was not only empty, but it seems as though more and more people are catching on to Camelback's shortcomings; and there's a lot of these this season. It seems to me that they're more interested in putting a parking ticket/notice on your windshield and grabbing a quick $40 (when you already have a season pass) than getting their act together and opening the Stevenson lift and most of the rest of the mountain trails. They say they have 15 trails open, but honestly, it's really only two runs. I don't want to hear about every turn being named a different trail; it's all just ONE run, and it's so boring. It is also notorious for being icy -- the whole mountain. I'm not sure why as they seem to be the only mountain in the area with this issue. I read one other review where it said you could ice skate down, and this is no exaggeration. We learned how to ride on the ice here, but unfortunately it can be dangerous for those that are not experienced. There is also extremely limited ski patrol, so all of the bratty teens are charging down the mountain which also causes people who are trying to learn to become nervous and fall. Again, this isn't me but I've observed this so often there; and there's no penalty because there's no staff on the mountain ensuring the safety of all skiers and riders. So back to the mountain conditions; here, we paid full price for a season pass and are literally getting a fraction of what we paid for. The staff is either "meh" and can't be bothered or just not happy and friendly at all. There's an older gentleman who touched my hip and then on another occasion my arm. If he touched me again I was going to say something; or simply push him off the embankment, as NO ONE should be touching the guests for any reason. Weird!! The new lift access gate barely ever works for your pass, and so they make you remove your gloves to fish around your gear to take out your pass and hold it directly over the sensor, instead of the damn thing simply working?! Thirsty Camel service is horrendous and they run out of everything. Good luck getting anyone to come to your table. We waited an hour and then walked out. The "double Black" trails are a total joke. What's double Black about them? Are you trying to match that ridiculously huge lift to the trails? This is a hill, people. It can be fun at times, maybe if you wait until mid-February, but there's literally nothing open as of mid-January? We actually went to Shawnee this past Saturday and they are operating at 100%; ALL trails open, great staff, great learning mountain and pretty darn good for us seasoned riders. I hadn't been there in decades and was pleasantly surprised. The terrain park had so many features, I'd lost count. Camelback has a couple of features and jumps open but that's it; and right now you get stuck at the bottom because the only lift open is the Sunbowl lift. Hope you have another 40 minutes to reach back up to the main base. Good luck! And Shawnee mountain is 28 minutes from Camelback. How is it that Shawnee has all trails open and Camelback only 15 trails (again, that is only a couple runs)??!!! I don't know about anyone else but, my money is on Shawnee in this region, as Camelback seems to just be looking at a way to pay off their court penalties and that new far-too-big-for-a-hill six-person lift that only reminds you of how brown and unopened the mountain is. Shawnee's season pass is the same price and you just get so much more. Don't waste your money on CBK. They're prices are terrible and they just seem to not care about this mountain anymore.

Yelp
I've been to camelback 3 times so far and every time I've went the staff were always rude. And the rooms had bugs in it. Very disappointing.

Yelp
I was in the area for my friend's Bachelorette party and one of the activities we planned was going snow tubing. The parking lot for tubing was a little difficult to find at first - we have not been to this resort previously and as soon as we pulled into the driveway of Camelback, the tubing lot was immediately to our right. Unfortunately we didn't notice this in time and had to drive past it all the way up to the next lot, then make a U-Turn and drive back down. In addition, there is little to no service in this area, which makes it difficult to communicate to other members of our party that we arrived and were waiting for them (although I know that is not Camelback's fault). We enjoyed having music piped in throughout the resort! The lodge was also nice (where the bathrooms are located). Before the entrance to the tubing area, they have an area where you can sit by firepits and also order waffles/ice cream. It smelled SOOO delicious and we wanted to stop and eat it after we went tubing. (Unfortunately, this ended up being closed after we were done tubing, which we were disappointed about). To start off: Everytime you go up the "magic carpet" (the conveyer belt that brings you up the mountain), it requires you to scan your pass in order to get through the gate. This is annoying having to do this EVERY TIME, especially when you need to put your pass in your snow pants pocket so you don't lose your pass as you go down the mountain, then take your gloves off, get your pass, and re-scan while holding your tube. I have been tubing at other mountains and have not had this experience. Secondly, once I got to the top of the mountain, it was EXTREMELY icy, multiple members of my party (and other strangers) almost fell walking down the pathway (and in the area where you start to head down the mountain). This can be dangerous since my tube started to slide when I wasn't able/ready to go down the mountain yet (I was trying to have a death grip with my boots lol). Thirdly, there was only ONE employee at the top of the mountain, in charge of about 10 or so lanes, standing all the way at the tenth lane, telling everyone when to go. I feel like this was not very helpful, as there isn't enough watch/control over people who may need assistance/help. Lastly, the lane I was in was WAY too icy. Multiple members of my party (who were in other lanes) also had this issue (where they almost felt like they were going into the adjacent lane). This is very dangerous and it made the ride down a little bumpy/painful. We enjoyed the music and the colorful lights on the slope!

Yelp
Camelback mountain is a nice ski destination. It has a nice variation of green, blue, black, and double diamond runs. As a person teaching multiple skiers, I think some of the green runs are a little steep for beginners, but that's not the mountain's fault. The honeymoon run had some ice. So did some of the blue ones. I think snowboarders pushed all the snow off the runs. Parking isn't bad. Pay if you want to. Lodge is comfortable. Bathrooms are clean. Food is expensive as expected ($8 hot dog, $16 personal frozen pizza, 14 burger).

Yelp
If you're thinking of taking your lil ones, here's what you need to know: - 5 years old and under get free lift tickets to be picked up at guest services - an adult lift ticket purchase is required - when renting gear for toddlers, you have to say you're renting for tiny tot - the smallest boot size is size 7 for both skiing and snowboarding - the smallest snowboard length is 70cm, (idk about skiing but I imagine something similar) which accommodates for the lil ones under 3 feet - the price of rental package is over $60 plus one adult lift ticket totals nearly $190 - there are two bunny slopes but I only went to one and it was pretty crowded, still fairly enjoyable - outside food is supposedly not allowed but we all know toddlers can be super duper picky so just bring your goodies anyway cuz it's better than risking a breakdown lol - parking is quite a hike if you get the cheaper parking so if you think you might go back and forth to the car, pay for the higher ticketed parking or bring a wagon/stroller for the hike - the bathrooms are horrible, makes for those still potty learning quite an unpleasant experience ... ehh even an adult can be disgusted or turned off by the bathrooms - they need upgrading for sure You can def still have a good experience here tho!

Yelp
We visited Camelback for the first time for a holiday weekend getaway with the family. The scenery in general is beautiful, lots of open roads and winding hills that lead to the resort. Everything you need is literally within the resort area which is nice, Our mistake was going to the resort on a holiday weekend where LITERALLY rentals, even the Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark was literally double in price. Now I get spiking prices up during a busy holiday, but double? Hmm. Overall we had an ok time at the resort. Parking near our rooms was a but confusing but to pay double just to park closer to lodging was a bit crazy. IT wasn't a bad experience, but I'm curious what its like on a non-holiday weekend.

Yelp
We went for our 3rd stay and for a very special family getaway. Executive Chef Jess from Trails End Pub and Grill was beyond amazing! Jess went out her way to make the night extra special, pure heart of gold. Gary from Trails End also is a jem and made sure our family were enjoying ourselves the whole night! I will definitely be back and look forward to seeing the 2 wonder staff Jess and Gary again. Thank you isn't even enough to say, but thank you both for making a memorable weekend for my family and I.

Yelp
Extremely disappointing trip to the Poconos because of Camelback. I understand it's been a rough winter, but the prices should reflect that. Almost $70 for just a NIGHT pass while HALF the lifts are closed is outrageous! Be warned - all man made snow, very sloppy, slushy and choppy out there this past weekend. Also tons of ice sheets! First time here and the layout of these trails are awful!!! It is extremelyyyy difficult to get from one side of the mountain to the other when only TWO chairs running to the summit. Everything else was shut down besides the bunny hills. I'm also very upset that we even bothered to bring a newcomer. We asked for directions to the bunny hill and we're told the area just outside the rentals was private to the ski lessons and would have to walk all the way up the hill, over the water slides to get to the top of the bunny hill. It was exhausting. Come to find out there's a short path through that "private area" open to all. Once we made it, I left my board behind and ran down the mountain beside her while instructing. They refused to let me ride the carpet up "without equipment" despite being a paying customer and not a single sign stating this "rule." I watched mothers with 3 y/os have to carry their child back up the mountain because of this!!! PITIFUL! Then our pass was eligible 3 - 9 pm. We break for dinner at 6:30 and every. single. food option is closed. No Taco truck, no cafeteria, no BBQ. We ended up leaving after only 3 hours on the mountain, despite a 2 hour commute. What terrible hospitality!!

Yelp
Did the snow tubing. WAY overpriced for what you get. Than you have to use an electric swipe to get to the tubes than again at another checkpoint to get on the moving ramp up the hill. Annoying to dig in your pocket with gloves on each time.

Yelp
Nice location, small mountain, friendly people, rotten web site making it very hard to basic information and plan a trip.

Yelp
Really enjoyed snowboarding here last weekend, which was my first time doing so in years! From my understanding, it is under new management and as a result, prices are a bit higher and lines are longer, however it was still a good experience. It has been common knowledge for quite some time that if you want to have the best skiing/snowboarding experience as possible, get to the mountain as early as possible. If you plan on going often or at least a couple times a year, it always helps to have your own gear and helmet. Just by having my own stuff, I shaved about an hour or more off my initial wait times compared to my friends. As from what I saw regarding mask enforcement, the staff did a great job all around the mountain. It was clear that the topic was top of mind as I noted staff reminding mountain goers both at the slopes and in the lodges/rental centers/etc. Pro tip: For those who are trying to minimize the risk of injury as much as possible, wear as much protective gear as you can afford. I arrived to the mountain wearing multiple layers of padding and high density foam body armor and even purchased some extra padded butt shorts at their pro shop. I only fell a couple of times (as opposed to some in my group who got very hurt) and was only minimally sore the next day.

Yelp
Avoid coming here on the holidays while they have the covid restrictions or not. It's packed and the lines at every area and spent far more time waiting than skiing (90/10 ratio). I love the gear you can rent which is good for beginners and kids. The shop has some good deals on items seasonally. Parking is expensive. $40 or $30 for parking upfront. $10 otherwise. The lockers are $10 to 20$ depending on sizes and they go really fast so make sure you get there early and quick. Kiosks for printing out the tickets you buy online are useful. Lots of ski lifts and trails but will be better when less crowded. Also with the social distancing rules, they dont do much to enforce proper mask wearing. They claim given the space, they don't worry about capacity but truth is all the cabins, check in, lines everywhere, it's all concentrated in a few places unfortunately.

Yelp
Next time I go skiing I'd probably try out a different ski mountain resort in the Poconos area. Not sure if other ski resorts have changed but Camelback now charges for parking which was unexpected and very disappointing- $12 for regular which is a bit of walk and I think around $30 if you want parking closer to the lodge/mountain. I visited early January on a weekday and there was only 1 lift that was running that took you to the top of the mountain. This resulted in the line for the ski lift being insanely long (basically a large clump of people). One time we timed it and the line took us 20 minutes to get through which is insane since it ends up amounting to 2 runs per hour (and keep in mind, the runs aren't even that long since the mountains here aren't that tall). In the morning when we started skiing around 10am the line was super short but once lunch time hit it started to get crowded and after lunch was crazy (as described). There were 2 other ski lifts but both serviced very beginner trails (which aren't that long as well). There also weren't very many trails open. At the top there were 3 different paths you could take and we exhausted all of those trails fairly quickly. For the snow conditions they weren't too bad for east coast Poconos skiing. For the trails that were open, there was sufficient snow, lots of random small debris but just due to the weather (leaves, etc). The trails aren't groomed here and with the snow making some trails were very patchy- some parts ice and some parts a clump of fluffy snow. I actually ended up preferring the black diamond trails since it was pretty consistent- all icy- and they are less crowded usually. They do have the RFID system now (not sure when it was implemented) and the check-in process to get the RFID tag is very quick and easy, no lines to wait in! Another thing that was good was the food- surprised how good the food was (at a ski lodge). We got tacos and they were delicious. Pricey as expected but delicious! (Definitely try to bring your own water though, they charge $5 for a regular bottle of water). Overall, would probably check out a different ski mountain resort when I go to the Poconos again. I had fun skiing (when I was skiing), and lots of things surprised me at Camelback both good and bad.

Yelp
Price of the room was fine, but the activity's open far to late we spent more time waiting for both water parks to open then the amount of time we got to spend in the parks. We won't be back. Everything is separately priced over priced and lacking amenities.

Yelp
Being new to skiing, and being from Miami, I was looking for a resort that was on the East coast- not too long of a plane ride, beginner friendly, and reasonable rates that wouldn't break the bank. Enter Camelback. We did not stay at the resort itself; this review is for the skiing only. Camelback offers a great bunny slope to start with. They also offer lessons for a reasonable fee. The instructors saw my daughter and I struggling and were so kind and allowed us to use the little mini hill at the front to get an initial feel for being on skis, and offered some free pointers. Veryyyy kind of them, and so appreciated!! We visited in February and the mountain was well-maintained. There wasn't really any natural snow fall or coverage, so the snow was being made. The first day was ok, kinda slushy which I didn't mind. I found it easier to get traction on. But it rained overnight and the next day it was pretty icy. Not easy to learn on at all, but where there's a will-there's a way! You can rent gear onsite, or opt for one of the offsite locations for lower fee. There are several offsite options - and one is actually run by the same company that rents onsite. The first day we rented onsite; the second day we rented at their offsite location. Equally good experiences- equally convenient- and more affordable offsite, so I would recommend it if you wanna save some cash. Very nice staff at both locations. Overall, I would absolutely recommend Camelback for an affordable family ski trip on the East coast. I didn't explore the mountain but they had a lottt of different slopes with varying difficulties. Something to fit everyone's needs.

Yelp
So much fun! We did the mountain GLOWSTER for the night rides they have right now. It was so fun! We also ate at Berellis. It was delicious and our server Heidi was just the best!!! She gave us great recommendations for the menu AND the area. Definitely check it out!

Yelp
This was our first time visiting Camelback Resort and I am completely in love. Our family wanted to do a quick getaway trip before the kids went back to school in 2 weeks and I'm so glad we did. From the time we arrived to the resort we were greeted, everyone was very helpful, the check in was very easy and the receptionist was very informative with the location of major attractions and informed us to download the Camelback Resort app to stay up to date with attractions, events, and activities during our duration. The food has been amazing every restaurant we have tried at the resort we have not been disappointed. Also, the kids loved the indoor Waterpark, outdoor Waterpark, bowling, arcade, roller coaster, sun bowling, UTV, and zip-lining. We will definitely be coming back and making this a family tradition.
