"Overlooking the San Miguel River and trail, Camel’s Garden sits right at the base of the gondola connecting Telluride with Mountain Village, just a few short blocks from Main Street. In addition to a convenient location, the hotel offers several complimentary niceties, including continental breakfast, wine and cheese in the winter, ski valet and storage, and heated underground parking—all of which make getting to the slopes easier, faster, and more pleasant. There’s also Oak, a full-service restaurant and bar beloved for its Southern-style ribs, and the award-winning Atmosphere Day Spa, which features a 25-foot hot tub with stunning mountain views. Standard rooms are spacious at 385 square feet, while deluxe rooms include a sitting area and wet bar. No matter which you choose, you’ll enjoy a fireplace, balcony, and large soaking tub to soothe post-ski muscles. If you’re traveling with a large family or group, however, opt for one of the condos, which feature separate living areas, washers and dryers, and top-of-the-line kitchens with Sub Zero and Viking appliances."

Our stay at the Camel Garden Inn in Telluride was nothing short of exceptional. The location is absolutely unbeatable—steps away from the gondola and right in the heart of town. Being able to literally exit our room and almost step onto the ski lift was a unique and convenient experience that made our ski trip seamless.||The rooms were comfortable and thoughtfully designed, with features like a cozy fireplace that added a warm and inviting atmosphere after a day on the slopes. The ambiance of the hotel perfectly complements the charm of Telluride, making it an ideal place to relax.||The staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. They were incredibly kind, friendly, and accommodating, and the free ski storage was an excellent perk. One of our favorite touches was the complimentary wine hour between 5 and 6 PM—a thoughtful and delightful way to unwind. Please, keep this tradition going!||If there’s one minor suggestion for improvement, it would be to consider adding hard-boiled eggs to the breakfast selection for those looking for a quick protein boost before hitting the slopes.||Overall, the Camel Garden Inn exceeded our expectations, and we would absolutely return. It’s a fantastic choice for anyone coming to Telluride to ski, with its phenomenal location, excellent amenities, and exceptional service. Highly recommended!

We love staying here when we ski. The gondola is right next to the hotel. I appreciate all the amenities that the hotel offers. There is an on-site restaurant. We ate there both nights. The breakfast was outstanding! The hot tub has a great view!

(Stayed early June 2025) The biggest positive was the room size. We had a Deluxe King and there were lots of spaces for sitting and lounging, as well as lots of floor space so that we were not constantly bumping into each other or the furniture. The bed was super comfortable; they had a window fan which helped a lot for keeping the room cool at night; the bathroom was good size (again with floor space for moving around); there was a large U-shaped window seat, as well as a table with two chairs (table large enough for two laptops); the wardrobe closet was spacious and also contained a mini-fridge. Overall, the room was really nice. Hotel location was also great, with the hotel being located right next to the gondola base and next to a meandering river with a walking path next to it. Main street is only a couple of blocks away and there are many great restaurants in town and a few up in the mountain village. However, there were two really big negatives for our stay: The first was that the internet went out sometime during the first night and was out for most of the weekend. While I could connect my laptop to my phone's hotspot, the TV was an entirely WIFI setup and I was not going to run the TV off of my data plan -- thus we had no TV after the first night. The second negative is actually pretty major IMO: The bathtub/shower is basically a law suit waiting to happen. The tub is sloped at one end, to provide for better lounging. However, there is no roughness of any sort on the tub bottom and the rubber mat was pretty small. Thus it was a bit difficult to move around without your feet managing to hit some part of the slick porcelain. Given there was also no grab bar on the wall and trying to grab the shower door just made it open outward, a shower became a somewhat dangerous event. I almost fell twice in the 3.5 days we were there. Like I said, "a law suit just waiting to happen." Overall, I would have rated the hotel a 4, but I really feel that the two negatives were pretty big, especially the shower issue. Side note: When we checked out the hotel did refund our parking fee and resort fee due to the wifi issue - so kudos to them for that.

Very lovely hotel in the heart of Telluride. Just a hop to the Gondola (free) to take you up the mountain. Restaurant (BBQ) onsite was good after a long day of driving. The hotel has a parking garage right beside it but our vehicle was large so we parked in the side lot provided by the hotel. The staff was amazing and helped us with luggage since we parked on the street. I thought the two gentlemen at the front desk were fabulous and went out of their way to help us get settled. We had a deluxe queen room with a balcony, super spacious and very comfortable, as well as a fireplace. I thought Breakfast to be lacking for such a nice hotel considering the price point of the room and parking. It was only continental and sparse at that so I think providing a little more would go along way. Overall a very nice stay!

This hotel is very basic and it does not offer any type of laundry options. We stayed at the King’s suite and the couch bed was the cheapest and most uncomfortable one I’ve ever experienced. The main bed was ok. Parking is $20 per night. There is not fitness center. Breakfast was included but so bad we ate in town instead. $1600 for 4 nights is absurdly expensive for this place. |I only booked here for the convenience of walking to town. Gondola was closed for low season so we just wanted to stay near Town and there were few hotels opened.|Snow making machine was on all night and super loud! I didn’t sleep for 4 nights. The hotel never mentioned the snow machine outside.

This hotel is amazing! The room was stunning! We had a deluxe king. It was spacious, comfortable and the bathroom was divine. We had a large deck off the side of the room that had multiple seating options and overlooked the river. The location is super convenient and walkable to all of Telluride's attractions and dining options. The Bear Creek Trail is maybe 150 yards from the front door which my husband and I did while we were there and it was incredible. The staff was great. The breakfast was pretty standard but good. The granola especially was a treat. My only complaint is the parking. Having to pay another $20 a night to park on site is a bit ridiculous. The hotel does it because they know parking elsewhere is a nightmare, especially on a busy weekend. It was definitely convenient and safe but charging customers who are already paying a lot to stay there seemed excessive.

I recently stayed at this hotel while traveling with a friend. We each checked into separate rooms, using our own credit cards for the hold. Later, I found extra charges on my credit card and contacted the hotel. They informed me the charges were for my friend’s room. When I requested a written receipt with itemized expenses instead of a verbal explanation, the staff responded in a condescending and mocking tone: “Written? You want it mailed to you?” I clarified I wanted it by email, but they continued to make excuses and refused to send it, even though the charge was on my card. In the middle of the conversation, they asked me to hold, then hung up, and I had to call back.||||When I mentioned I would have to contact my credit card company if they couldn’t provide the receipt, the staff sarcastically replied, “Hah, for what?” This level of unprofessionalism was shocking. I’ve stayed at numerous hotels globally, but this was the first time I’ve experienced such rude treatment. It made me wonder whether their behavior was influenced by my appearance or accent.||||Advice to management: Be mindful of who you place at the front desk—racist or dismissive behavior has no place in hospitality.
||Advice to future guests: Avoid this hotel if you expect decent customer service.

We really enjoyed the Camel's Garden Hotel and are already planning another stay for next summer. The location can't be beat! It's right off the main street, there's an excellent coffee shop right outside your door, it's on the river and it's next to the lift. The rooms and bathrooms are huge and very comfortable. Can't recommend it enough!

Yelp
Stayed here for one night Summer of 2021. Stayed in room 101 which was on the ground floor. The room was nice and clean. Our bathroom was also very nice and clean and even had bath robes for you to dry or lounge in. The best part about this place is the staff and how they go above and beyond to help you out. We had a little accident with our bathroom and we called the front desk to get some help. It was close to midnight and maintenance wasn't on site to help but the front desk(cannot recall his name) came to our room and helped. He finally got the can working for us again after a few minutes and he was on his way. I honestly didn't have too high expectations because the website didn't look too sophisticated/nice and there wasn't a ton of reviews but this place really is a great choice! The breakfast isn't too bad at all, the fruits & parfait was good. I also did take advantage of the cinnamon rolls and coffee but hey I'm on vacation..... If you're on the fence on this choice, do yourself a favor and just pull the trigger on the Camels Garden

Yelp
The service has gotten a lot better here since my last stay a few years ago. Housekeeping was on it. The common areas seem to have been renovated, especially the lounge on the main level. Nice furniture and ambiance with the fireplace and various seating options. For the price this is one of the best deals in town. While it's by no means a modern hotel or resort, and is in fact a bit more on the basic side and a little outdated, you can't beat the location right next to the main Telluride lift and being right in downtown Telluride. I prefer staying here over Mountain Village as things shut down much earlier out that way. If I could have only a couple small suggestions it would be to see how they can get the rooms to not warm up so quickly (it was 10 degrees outside and I had the heat set to 64 and it kept going up to around 70 so I had to open a window). Then it was hard keeping a consistent temperature and I had to get up a couple of times during the night. The television steaming is very inconsistent and buffers or turns off for a few seconds, every few minutes. They also need refrigerators in the room. The beds are very comfortable but the pillows are mediocre. The giant tub is awesome as is the overall size of the room. The hot tub area just wasn't too appealing as the jets weren't strong enough and to get any jets you had to sit out of the tub with only half of your body submerged. It was awkward. Big hot tub but poor design. Needs to be a bit hotter and needs actual jets for both the low back and calves. I would recommend Camel's Garden Hotel to the middle to upper middle income skier who appreciates a great location and an ok experience. If you are fancy or rich then look at one of the boutique properties elsewhere.

Yelp
Stayed here while in town working during the Telluride Film Festival so it's fair to say it was a pretty busy time. Pros: LOCATION: A few steps from the gondola and a couple of blocks from the main street in town. A+ HOUSEKEEPING TEAM: What an amazing housekeeping team this place has. Friendly team and the hotel is very clean and tidy. SOAKING TUB: My room had a generously sized bathroom with a huge and very comfy soaking tub. FRIENDLY STAFF: The front desk team, the staff that oversees the free breakfast on the 2nd floor in the morning, and again -- the housekeeping team -- are all lovely, helpful, friendly and great at their jobs. They go above and beyond. CREEK: The river/creek runs right by your backdoor so during the day I would open it (I was on the first floor in room 103) and listen to the sound of the water -- so soothing. And lots of birds chirping. The sounds of nature while I worked. There's also a path where you can walk by the water -- so nice. LARGE ROOM: The room is REALLY BIG! It had two beds (comfortable) and a fireplace. Cons: DECOR: Very plain colors, carpet that sort of looked like it should be in an office. It just could use a bit of a facelift. Would look so much better with hardwood floors and a little style. It's perfectly acceptable the way it is, but could use a bit of charm. LIGHTING: While the bathroom lighting was great, the lighting where the beds are was a bit lacking. I would stay here again for sure based on the location, the friendly staff and the generously sized rooms.

Yelp
Pros: Location Hot tub with mountain view Cons: WiFi didn't work Loud people out at night below windows Blake did not tell us that breakfast was included Blake did not tell us the WiFi password upon check-in Waited about fifteen minutes at the desk to check in; no one was there Blake gave me serious condescending attitude when I asked him about parking No AC in the rooms so it gets really hot Buzzing sound in room all night

Brena E.

Yelp
It's definitely nothing fancy, but it's hard to beat the location downtown and right by the gondola, so will give it four stars. We had a hard time finding parking to check in, but it turns out that you can pull right into their garage and take the elevator up. Their rooms are pretty plain, but the bathrooms are big and nice. My room had a portable air conditioner with a big vent to the outside which made it difficult to close the blinds and didn't make the room that cool anyway. The hot tub area is nice and they had some good choices for breakfast like cinnamon rolls and bowls of fruit. I would stay here again based on the location.

Harriet M.

Yelp
Location of this hotel was very good when we arrived we had some issues with our room the air conditioning to be specific I must say that David the manager try to fix the problem unfortunately they was no other room available so they put in a window air conditioner !!there was no other choice so I may do with it !!we had a standard room small good enough for one night only this was not a Inexpensive hotel-the breakfast was basic breakfast nothing special!no !!no water on arrival told they was a store where we could buy !!no refrigerator or microwave oven in the room parking underground $15 if I was returning I would look around for a another hotel There many choices this was a expensive hotel

Yelp
The hotel's location is very convenient, a few steps from the gondola (links Telluride to the Mountain Village) and a couple blocks from the main street shops and restaurants. There is also the Oak restaurant onsite that offers barbecue and has a nice patio. The Camel's Garden hotel provides condos with kitchens too (individually owned so each is different) but we stayed in a traditional hotel room. Each one is big with a fireplace and a balcony, the bathroom with marble was also nice. I was surprised with such a nice room that there was no coffee machine (and no fridge). For an extra $15/night there is parking underground, super convenient but space seems limited, even if they tell you no reservation in advance is needed. I really liked the overall atmosphere of this hotel with cool art, relaxing chairs in different areas and a large rooftop hot tub. They even offer free continental breakfast with starbucks coffee, which was a nice surprise as it was not mentioned when I made the reservation online. Great lodging option when staying in Telluride!

Daniel R.

Yelp
We came here because we got in late and were driving to Montrose early the next morning. Have been to Telluride plenty of times but have always stayed in Mountain Village but this hotel makes me want to stay down in town more. Perfect location, convenient parking (considering you will be lucky to find street parking within 3 blocks), very spacious room for your money which leaves plenty of room for ski gear in the winter. Nice bathroom and comfy beds. Nice continental breakfast in the morning was the cherry on top. We will definitely be back when we're in Telluride this winter!

Michael B.

Yelp
Tom certainly made our stay unique! His sense of humor made our check in amazing. Great location and a really fun and upbeat staff. The ski locker guy was amazing with information about the mountain and the town. I think it was Michael and Tom that made out trip amazing! Thanks guys!

Kimmy L.

Yelp
The hotel staff was absolutely incredible and let me get in extra early after a long day of traveling. I am so grateful!!! The rooms were adorable and had great things like a humidifier and awesome robes. I would 100% stay here again. The only complaint: the AC was not the best... we were pretty hot all night but it was uncharacteristically sweltering outside so not sure. Overall 4.5/5!!

Sarah N.

Yelp
My friend recommended this place and it was definitely a good tip. The staff here is so friendly, especially Connor and Booker. Everyone else was great too but I didn't catch their names! Connor went above and beyond to make us feel like the most special guests. The hotel is spotless, the rooms are really spacious and the breakfast is great! All amazing things at this place! Highly recommend. Oh and it's right next to the gondola with a ski valet next to the lift. Really awesome place.

Sylvia L.

Yelp
Stayed here from February 26 - March 4, 2019. The room was spacious, and yes the fireplace lent a special charm to the room. The very large tub/shower combo was also a delight. What is there not to like about this place? Everything you need is right on site (rentals, restaurant, spa, chairlift 8 & gondola are right there). Enjoyed the variety of scones, lox and fresh strawberries for brekkie. Don't miss the complimentary wine, cheese & chips between 5-6pm daily (the red was a fav). Jacuzzi fits lots of people and is kept at a very nice hot temperature. The artwork around the hotel is quirky and interesting. The camel logo on the robes (very handy), sheets & pillowcases was cute. Staff is very helpful. Did notice a couple of times there were no fresh towels though.

Holly P.

Yelp
Room was right by the gondola and really big. The bathroom had been recently renovated, and the bed / living area had a fireplace. Heated parking was also really convenient. They have a 25 person hot tub with a beautiful view and a sauna. The entire hotel has beautiful plants all over so it feels homey. I usually stay in chain hotels and so this one was a breath of fresh air. Staff is friendly, helpful, and happy. Breakfast was cinnamon rolls, cereal, bread and yogurt. I would have loved if they had some healthier options -- like hard boiled eggs and fruit -- but it's nothing to complain about. Would definitely stay here again.

Jen B.

Yelp
Awesome location! Room was big and beds were comfy - just super weird that there was no mini fridge or coffee. Breakfast was good!

Jennie R.

Yelp
This place was amazing. The hotel was so quaint, the staff was friendly and it is in the perfect location. They upgraded us to a room with a fireplace and a balcony and set us up with a crib for our toddler. Highly recommend!

Yelp
For a mountain resort, the Camel's Garden Hotel is fab-u-lous! The architect who designed it really tapped in to the natural beauty of the San Juan mountains and maximized the gorgeous vistas of the box canyon. Just wait until you soak in their huge, outdoor hot tub...it offers one of the most beautiful views that I've ever seen from a hotel. I came here on the first of April, so the mountain was still open for ski season. In 2008 it ceases operation on April 6, so the elk can migrate safely. The Hotel is strategically placed for snowboarders and skiers. It is next to the gondola that goes to the mountain village and a few feet away from a ski lift, as well. This makes it a ski in-ski out situation. Literally, when I came down the mountain on my last run, I rode my board all the way to the door, popped out of my bindings, picked it up, and walked inside. It couldn't have been any more convenient. As if ski in-ski out wasn't marvelous enough, the hotel is also situated on a river, which only adds to the already beyond exquisite natural ambiance. There is a roof deck on top that offers incredible views of the Telluride sky, which is best described at night as navy velvet that looks as though someone has tossed a handful of silver glitter across it....truly a sight to behold. The daytime views of the box canyon are equally as breathtaking. I did most of my star gazing right from my balcony, and when it got too cold outside, I stared at it through the glass door that opened onto it. As far as being convenient to town, it's about a two block walk, across a little footbridge that goes over the river. You don't even need to bother renting a car. It might be more of a hassle than a help staying here. We walked to dinner each night, and when I wasn't carving up the slopes I was walking around town checking out the shops. My favorite restaurant nearby was Campagna...a scrumptious dinner. As for the rooms, mine was so comfortable that there were moments when I didn't want to leave it. Everything was so wonderful...the bedding...the gas fireplace (Telluride is a box canyon...natural fires are an environmental hazard), the oversize tub with waterfall shower head. Oh, and the water....it's that wonderful mountain water that feels so good on your skin and tastes so good right out of the tap. After I had been in the hot tub soaking away my sore muscles for about an hour, I came in and took a long, hot shower under their fabulous waterfall shower head....so relaxing. Right before bed, I took a bubble bath in their over-sized marble tub. The hotel doesn't have a swimming pool, but the hot tub is so large that you feel like you are in a small pool. Really, you have to sit in there just to take advantage of the gorgeous vista. It's magical. If you are a wine drinker, they have free wine at the hotel apres ski. Just ask the concierge if they didn't tell you about it at check in. Also, I paid full-price for a standard room so I was provided a free lift ticket. It was a nice touch. This is a hotel that really pays attention to the details. I highly recommend staying at the Camel's Garden Hotel. I didn't want to leave.

Mark A.

Yelp
Can't get a hotel any closer to the chair lift of gondola. The Camel's Garden is a perfect place to stay in Telluride, especially for us single skiers (i.e. not traveling with family). I stayed here on a 3-day flight layover, skied one day. The room I had is modestly upscale. Nice view of the gondola and ski trails. The staff is friendly. There are many restaurants within one block from Camel's Garden. Great location for a hotel!

Norma R.

Yelp
What a gem - you really don't experience hotels like this anymore, especially not in mountain towns. I imagine it's absolutely amazing in the winter, because our stay in the summer was totally magical. The room was huge, and it was *so clean*! The staff is all super warm and welcoming, the breakfast was impressive... I can't wait to go back!

Tim P.

Yelp
Matt on the front desk rocks! I saw mention of him on Trip Adviser and they were right. He even called The New Sheridan restaurant to ask when their kitchen closed when we got into town later in the evening. 6 star service. The property is right at the Gondola so is great location and just a couple of blocks off the main drag. Our room had a king bed that was great and an in room fireplace and an outdoor semi private balcony. Room size was very nice and the water pressure in the shower is about the best I have ever experienced in any hotel. The entire property was outfitted how I would expect a 5 star property to be with one exception. It would have been nice to have arrows to room numbers getting off the elevator. It is a maze to get to your room and I circled the floor more than once trying to find ours. The property has an underground parking garage that you will miss in the dark unless yo know where it is, perfect though considering most of the parking in Telluride is on street or very expensive parking lots ($35-$55/day up on the top of the mountain at Hotel Madeline). The restaurant/bar operation in the hotel (The Oak) is definitely not snooty though, more of a neighborhood bar which is fine considering it is the place to stop in after riding the Gondola back down. Food was great with Cajun red beans & rice that was perfect as was the rest of the meal. The local free shuttle bus (Galloping Goose) has a stop right at the door and we rode it once. It was an interesting experience because as we got on, there was an obvious field trip of what I thought was a daycare. I was told by one of the 4 ladies with the group that it was the Kindergarten day for Yoga at the Library. They got the kids to slide down enough for us to have a place to sit up by the driver which was nice because I originally had thought to wait for the next bus (not knowing that this time of year there probably was only the one bus running). Upon arriving at the Library the entire herd got off and one of the teachers said on her way out was all this was a weekly event and they didn't even have to get permission slips...the benefit of a small town. Got off on the main street for lunch then walked back a few blocks to the Hotel. If they have rooms, this will be my "go to" property when in the area!

Yolanda B.

Yelp
The hubby, the fur baby and I stayed here for a couple of nights in September. This property is extremely comfortable and located perfectly. Our room was spacious and the bedding felt so luxurious. The entire staff made us and our fur baby feel so welcome! Location was spot on... right next to the gondola and one block off of Colorado Street. Near good restaurants and shopping. There is an incredible wine/liquor store down the street. Mojo (fur baby) and I walked the path right on the river every AM and PM. A couple of comments and observations... Nicolas at the front desk was super helpful and just all round great guy, Rico our breakfast host, was a pleasure meeting him! The second morning breakfast host, didn't get her name... was reading her phone the entire time... We will be back next summer for a longer stay!

Justin S.

Yelp
This place has the grumpiest, least hospitable staff I've ever encountered at any sort of lodging anywhere. Their whole attitude seemed to be: "You can stay here if you must...but you ain't welcome." I've felt far more welcome at a Motel 6. Who hired these people?? They were quite rude to us on three separate occasions, and didn't know the most basic info like when check-out time was. The facilities and especially location were admittedly great- especially being right next to the gondola (the downside being that you could hear it running until 2am, and then again at 7am). It's a shame, then, that such a nice place had such grumpy, unhelpful staff (especially at the font desk). The few minutes we spent experiencing the brunt of their 'tudes made me never want to stay at the Camel's Garden again.

Remy D.

Yelp
Very pleasant place to stay. great location to walk around. Tom at the front desk was very nice as well as all the staff.

Yelp
I picked this based off Stephanie's review. She is dead on.... sort of a new-ish hotel with modern, sleek architecture that sort of deadens the facade into being more of a townhouse/condo feel than a classic hotel feel. The staff is AWESOME... very Telluride mellow. I was there off season, so it is the diehards or long time locals just waiting for powder... and you can see it in how they react. Frankly they were always on point, always helpful and friendly.... if not relaxed. The space was very inviting... downstairs lounge area, upstairs free breakfast area (breakfast ends fairly early.. 9.30a or so), internet, and the WONDERFUL eucalyptus steam room and hot tub deck right outside on the patio. It truly is relaxing, beautiful, and there is no reason you wouldn't use this all day, endlessly.. unless you have other things to do. It's location is PERFECT.... for example, if you need to get to the big Gondola to get up the hill, it is literally stumbling distance from the front doors. Or what if you need to watch a wheel that is flaming and on fire shoot sparks into the stratospehere? Well... if you are out front and there at the right wedding full of Burners... well you will, won't you ---- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-qIbGXwFhk enjoy that. I did.

Yelp
We stayed here for 2 nights in January for a birthday ski trip. Great location with ski in and ski out amenities. Lovely room, big beautiful bathtub. We got a very reasonable rate. Nice out door hot tub, however the hot tub was a little too hot for me. Great experience, we will return.

Maryjane G.

Yelp
We stayed here for a weekend in August and loved it! The staff are great around the entire hotel and go out of their way to make your stay great. Room was very generously sized and you can't beat having a balcony. The oversized tub was a perfect end to a long day. Breakfast in the morning was a nice touch, simple and delicious. Great location next to the gondola! Really enjoyed our stay and will be back soon!

Yelp
We came out to camp, but the weather was so beautifully wet, we ended up staying at this amazing hotel! The entire staff was wonderful! Wanted to thank Rio, Blake, Tom and Autumn for accommodating us in such short notice! Autumn was awesome enough to refund our money the second night, because some friends had a condo we were able to use last minute! Thank you so much for an exceptional experience! :-)

Yelp
You cannot be a great man, said Marcus Aurelius, if you want ski-in ski-out on lift 10. It shows a certain limpness of backbone, an enervation of the will to want to ski-in ski-out on lift 1. Real skiers ski lifts 8 and 9. And there is no ski-in ski-out on lift 8. It's too steep. They can't build hotels like that. Just the Camel's Garden. Boom. But from my room in Camels Garden -- 219 -- to the place where I could slap down my sticks at Lift 8 was a walk of 90 paces. 90 paces to glory. Plus you're right there over Oak (the best after-ski drinking spot). And, enough about the location. This is the best hotel I've ever stayed at in Telluride. I spent last night sitting in the hot tub staring at Axaj reading a book watching the moon. Then I went back to the room and luxuriated by the fire in my room and looked again at Ajax. I never get tired of looking at Ajax. This is where I recommend family comes when they come. The best part is the staff: Mike Munno is an avid skier and a great hotel manager. And also a friend. Again: greatest location in Telluride. Perfect rooms. Great lobby for hanging. My favorite hotel in town. And I know this town. http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g33667-d207675-r328625387-Camel_s_Garden_Hotel_Condominiums-Telluride_Colorado.html#

Yelp
Great experience! Stayed over Christmas with kids and dogs. Rooms are big and quiet. Breakfast in the morning and wine at night gives you a chance to meet interesting people from all over. Location is unbeatable with only steps to the gondola and a great ski valet service. The staff at this hotel is amazing! They go out of their way for whatever you need and do it with a smile! We will be back again and again...

Yelp
We have been coming to Telluride for almost ten years now. We have stayed in Mountain Village a few times, but found that no matter the season Camels Garden is the easiest and best spot. Period. You can walk 50 feet to the Gondola and it will drop you off RIGHT in mountain village. Ski school with kids has never been easier. We have come for quite a number of summers also. The staff is amazing. All of them. They have always been there for us no matter the need. ( hiking recommendations, hospital necessities everything AND everything.) I know we count ourselves lucky to call Mike, Autumn, Matt, Tom, Carrie and Cindy Friends. Stay here. You will NOT be disappointed.

Yelp
The staff are some of the most amazing people I have come across. My girlfriend and I got into a really serious pickle on top of one of the nearby mountains. Several helicopters and two wonderful search and rescue climbers later, the gentleman at the fron desk, along with the head chef of the restaurant, the GM, and the rest of the staff went WELL beyond what would be expected. They provided us with a wonderful place to rest and recover; they checked on our well-being, and they helped to get us back into a state of peace and safety. Its because of them that we are alive today, and I cannot say enough about their generosity, their kindness, and their attention to total strangers. I recommend this hotel without hesitation to ANYONE who is in the area for ANY REASON. While there are many nice places to stay in telluride, I would not stay at another hotel based solely on their dedication to their clients. PLEASE, if you need to find a place in Telluride, consider this hotel. They have earned every right to be my go-to hotel, and I cannot wait to return. Most Graciously, Dr, Tyler O. Vukmer and Kristina M. Lalli

Yelp
For those of us who are pet lovers, and travel to "pet-friendly" hotels, cross this one off your list, with a huge marker. I was at their front desk a week ago today, and was told by one of the 2 front desk men, that he does not like dogs, that there were no pets checked in at the time, and if I continued speaking about dogs to him, I was doing myself no favor. I suppose if I had been Oprah, he might have treated me differently! Have traveled a good part of the world, and have never be spoken to in such a discourteous fashion by hotel staff; good my dog didn't understand the words.

Yelp
Stayed here the week leading up to Labor Day! Perfect location and complimentary parking. The manager voluntarily upgraded us to a larger corner room that was fabulous! The morning complimentary breakfast was perfect. Enjoyed the hot tub pool and the complimentary hot tea, hot chocolate and coffee 24/7. Everyone that worked for the hotel were so friendly! Definitely look forward to staying here again when we go to Telluride!

Yelp
We just left Camel's Garden Hotel this morning. We also went based on the previous yelp reviews. We were very happy with every aspect of this property. The underground parking is great. The staff were wonderful. The breakfast (and the nice woman who served it) was really good partially brought in from a local bakery. We were very happy with the entire experience and extended an extra day as a result. Very dog friendly! We will definitely return.

Yelp
We didn't know what to expect when rolling into Telluride and coming upon this hotel. Camel's exceeded every expectation. The rooms are affordable, clean, beautiful, quiet, cozy and huge. The bathrooms are also awesome, with a large soaking tub. The location is unbeatable -- you're right on the mountain and at the base of the gondola! You can also rent skis and get your lift tickets on site. Best of all was the staff. The most friendly hotel staff we've ever encountered. Everyone just goes above and beyond. Always a friendly "hello" when you're coming and going. We wanted some breakfast past the hours for the free continental, and they brought us out all the food. In this day and age, people just don't want to put forth the effort to make customers happy. We really appreciated this. We will be recommending this hotel to everyone we know who's headed to Telluride.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic hotel! The first thing I said when I walked into our room was "WOW! It's so big!" Not only was our room quite spacious, but the bathroom also had a very large bathtub that came complete with a tealight candle and made for a much needed relaxing evening. The entire hotel was also remarkably clean AND the continental breakfast featured divine salmon and caper bagels! I'll definitely be staying here again on my next visit to Telluride.

Yelp
This is the best place to stay in Telluride. The rooms are huge, clean and quiet, and the location is perfect. This was my first time staying at The Camel's Garden and I have to say that the staff was amazing, the bathroom was massive and the rooms offered everything you need and nothing you didn't. Additionally, the inclusion of one of the best local places to eat right downstairs puts this hotel over the top. Be sure to see Robbie and the gang at Oak (The Old Fat Alley) for a Beer and some BBQ while you're here. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place in Telluride. You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
We booked this hotel from a hotel discount site and thought the " selling" features were a little exaggerated... NOT... We arrived to Telluride.. First time visit on the final ski weekend for 2015/2016 season.. What an amazing hotel find.. Friendly at check in.. No detail left out.. Ski lockers, parking.. Old fashioned metal keys.. Room was large for just the two of us and the bathroom with the couples bathtub was great... Ski in and ski out... You cannot get any closer to the lift or gondola.. We will be back again next season.. Maybe a summer jeep rental trip first.. Thank you to the management for the great stay we experienced. See you soon

Yelp
We just spent a long weekend in Tellurie and stayed at Camels Garden, the staff and the accommodations were great. First off, the location is incredible, just a tiny walk to the gondola or a chair lift (is it even 40 feet to the chair lift?). The rooms are huge, we were surprised at how big they were. The staff was genuinely enthusiastic and helpful. I'd go back for certain, great location, great hotel, great people.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place. You couldn't ask for a more conveinent location, close to the gondola and the center of town. The rooms are great, clean and the staff couldn't be better.

Yelp
Second winter stay- and we never want to leave. Big, clean, beautiful rooms. Pet-friendly. It never feels crowded and rooms are soundproof. Beautiful everything- and GREAT spa treatment today with Jody, who was as delightful as she was masterful. Can I give 6 stars???

Yelp
We stayed at Camel's Garden this past summer on my first visit to Telluride. Great location next to the gondola, which provided us with a free ride over to Mountain Village. It's also located near a variety of restaurants. The hotel has underground parking, so with everything within walking-distance, and the proximity to the gondola, we never pulled our car out until the day we left. We stayed in a standard room, which was very spacious, with a king-sized bed. The bathroom was just as spacious. If you're looking for luxury and fancy decor, you will not find it here, but this place is by no means dumpy. It's nicely, simply decorated and very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. They served a nice continental breakfast, which was included. While this hotel is pet-friendly, they don't have a grassy area on the property for pets to do their business. There is an area of grass between the hotel and gondola, but I was warned by a staff member to be cautious of bears over there when it's dark outside. Maybe these sightings don't happen every night, but it was enough to make me stay away from taking my pup over there after dark.

Yelp
This resort is beautiful! The rooms are spacious and bright with all updated furniture and electronics. The bathrooms are gorgeous, huge tubs and marble counters and an awesome vanity mirror for me to get ready with! There was a hot tub on the second floor with a great view of the mountains. The staff is very friendly and prompt with any requests you may have. The breakfast was pretty good as well. There is a spa inside the building, it has a nice quiet ambiance. My massage was well done and relaxing, I'd give the massage itself a 4 out of 5. The building doesn't feel like a hotel, it seems more like you're just visiting someone's really nice house and getting to stay in the a big guest room. If you're in Telluride, definitely check it out!

Yelp
Stayed at Camel's Garden Hotel this past weekend and I HIGHLY recommend you stay there if you take a trip to beautiful Telluride. Matt at the front desk was amazing and provided outstanding customer service. Parking garage was convenient and Matt helped us park and took our bags up for us. The rooms were simple in decor but comfortable and extremely clean. The entire hotel was clean. I swear there wasn't a single time I walked down the halls and didn't see someone cleaning. The tub was huge and extremely relaxing. Great views of the mountains from the hot tub and our balcony. The girl working the breakfast station was as sweet as can be! Breakfast was yummy... my only request is more hot foods... eggs, bacon, pancakes... something. They also have wine and cheese each night once the lifts close and it's fantastic. There is a small restaurant, ski rental, and spa in the building. The hotel is literally right next to the gondola which is extremely convenient. My only complaint is the Wi-Fi sucked really bad. I will never consider staying anywhere else in Telluride.

Yelp
Location, location, location. Talk about ski-in, ski-out! We literally opened the back door to our hotel room and were steps away from Lift 8 and the Gondola. The room was super-spacious and the bathrooms are amazing --great shower and huge bathtub. The staff was awesome and helpful. I especially enjoyed the free wine and cheese hour ;) the steam room and hot tub!

Yelp
If you're game enough for the best skiing in Colorado, the most authentic mining town the coolest vibe, Telluride is where you need to head, the CAMELS GARDEN is the place you want to/need to stay. Camels Garden Hotel (and it's sometimes available condos) is the only place outside of NYC where the LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION adjective may be aptly applied. The staff is always friendly, helpful and sincere without being solicitous and they're always available to assist, regardless of the ask. We often bring friends with us and we're all completely comfortable regardless of the rooms we occupy. In the winter, we ship our skis and the staff installs them in the room before we arrive. The team in the ski locker is super helpful and while it's a pleasure to leave a gratuity, you know they really like working there. The rooms are quite large and very comfortable. They all have terrific views even if it's just the wild banks of the San Miguel River. Most of the rooms have terraces and fireplaces, there's enough room to hang/put away all your many ski/sports duds and the closets have real wooden hangers on proper poles. The bathrooms are all marble, the tubs are HUGE and the lighting is good. NO FLUORESCENT BULBS!!!!! Love the high thread-count linens, varieties of down pillows and plush bathrobes. They keep it all fresh. The Camels Garden is THE hotspot for apres ski in Tride. When skiing "down" for the day, the main trail allows you to ski right onto the plaza side of the big open bar/terrace in the CG, where there's often a fire roaring, music (sometimes live) and a crowd. The all mountain Gondola base station is there as is one of the original lifts, Chair 8 which takes you up to the best double blacks on the mountain. It's really ski in ski out even if you're cross country skiing. You can buy your lift tickets, pick up your pocket sized sun block as well as rent/tune your boards also on the plaza side of the hotel. The Atmosphere Spa is among Tride's best to work out the kinks of a big powder day or simply to enjoy a little mani/pedi pamper. (discount if you're staying at the CG). Breakfast (included) on the 2nd floor is a perfect power meal with a great view of the mountain and plaza below. The jacuzzi is also on the 2nd floor with a spectacular view of the near distant mountain peaks....nothing like being snowed upon in the steamy pool and watching the moon come up over the 13,000+ foot Tomboy mine peaks. I wish the private lobby had more going on - other than interior apres ski,(free beer wine cheese, sausage, home made chips) there's not much happening there - tho it's a nice place to curl up by fire and read or get together with pals for slightly less frenetic hang out. There is terrific art in the soaring space from giant Al Loving to Andy Warhols sprinkled throughout. But, it's all superlatives - staying in town is the best way to experience Telluride and the CamelsGarden is the place where everyone (including mountain villagers and the estates above from professional skiers to celebs) wants to congregate for lunch or apres ski.. Shopping in town is about two minutes walk in every direction from the hotel -as are the best restaurants. You can get to anywhere on the mountain from there and it's the perfect place to collapse with a frosty beer or a painkilling negroni after battling the elements all day. "Run don't walk - to Tride and stay at the CAmel's Garden
