Cameron Lake

We went on a sunny day and it was super pretty the scenery and if you want to I would recommend to rent a boat so you can go over the lake but you can also go hiking around the lake if that’s what you prefer I did both and can just recommend.

A wonderful lake to stop at with the pups on the way to port alberni/tofino. There are stairs and a trail down to the lake at the midway rest area (about 3-5 mins after the campground when traveling west) , and the water was actually fairly warm. We swam our dogs and saw some people swimming. We did read that the lake can get quite windy in the valley so bring appropriate layers. The dogs loved the crystal clear water and pebbly beach!

Visited this place on our way back from port Alberni and what a beautiful stop. The water was calm at the beach. Access from highway.

This lake I stunning crystal clear water. And lime a cool refreshing dip after a long day in the heat. This place is a gem hidden between parksville and port Alberni a must go on any vacation. Well will be once 5he road is open.

This lake is a beautiful picnic spot on the highway between Nanaimo and Port Alberni. It is abutting the MacMillan Provincial Park with its giant Douglas Firs and Red Cedar trees. The park is on the south western edge of the lake. The waters of the lake are calm and serene encircled by the hills on all sides. One can even swim or do some kayaking or boating on the waters. There are many sheltered spots under the trees and it is not too crowded around the lake except at the Cathedral Grove area.

Cameron Lake is the best and beautiful. Very close to Nanaimo and on the way you can enjoy the nature at the lake side. I read about the mysteries in this deep lake but never experienced.

So serene and peaceful. Not a lot of people here and perfect spot for a nice picnic by the lake. The water is clean and good for swimming as well.
