Cameron's Restaurant

First time here was a great experience! The deck was spacious and comfortable on a beautiful summer evening. Our server was none other than Donna! She was charming and delightful! We had the catfish and perch. Loved our trip to Buchanan and will be back!

What’s not to love about Cameron’s?!! Great food, wonderful hosts and friendly staff, beautiful outdoor dining, and Bailey the pooch who watches over the pond. Cameron’s is our go-to local restaurant for a casual and yummy meal. Cam and Donna are outstanding hosts and always go the extra mile for their customers. Their staff is very friendly and efficient. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes at affordable prices. They usually have weekend specials that sound delicious, but it’s difficult for me to order anything other than their burgers because they are sooooo good. In warm months, they open their beautiful deck overlooking a pond for outdoor dining and entertainment. Highly recommended!

Cameron's opens at 5:00, we got here around 5:25 and there were a lot of cars in the lot. However, they had plenty of seating. I had the best burger! It was cooked to a PERFECT, juicy medium & topped with mushrooms, crispy bacon & swiss. The generous portion of tater tots was hot & crispy. Hubs had the lake perch dinner with tater tots & potato salad. He really liked the potato salad and the perch was coated with a light batter for a light crispy texture and the inside was tender & flaky. Service was wonderful! Next time we're in the Buchanan area we'll be back!

Usually get the mushroom Swiss burger which is good but this time I decided to try the ribs which was a Friday special. They were so burnt and charred you couldn’t eat, chew or separate the ribs. 🤮🤮 And to think I waited 40 mins for carry out. I would have sent this order back if I did dine in service because it was not edible. If you want to waste your money order the rib special.

It was such a cute place! Updated and very homey inside. Service was great! The bar tender even gave me the extra of my pina colada I ordered. The outside deck was stunning and the ducks were a nice touch. Can't wait to visit again when it warms up as they will have live music on the porch!

Great Water stream view backside of the restaurant. Quick bites. Corn appetiser was well done along with philly burger and chicken fingers. Restrooms are neat. Area is calm and pleasant. Service was friendly. Overall Satisfied!

I really liked where this restaurant is situated. A nice deck seating area next to a pond. Perhaps if I had been out there it would make up for the service. Waitress was quick initially, the appetizer came out very quickly and we got our drinks. It went down hill from there. We put our food order in and waited a long while for it. Watched people that came in after us get their food first. I asked for a drink refill after waiting awhile and not getting checked on by the waitress, was acknowledged and then had to ask another waitress after waiting another 5 minutes. The food was good, but I felt it was priced oddly. I had a prime rib shaved ciabatta, which was delicious, but the sandwich was small compared to my wife's 1/2 lb prime rib burger and hers cost less than mine. The waitress asked my 10 yr old son if he wanted fries with his (as if it came with it) to find out it wasn't and I was charged $5 for a side of fries. Our food also did not come out at the same time. I want to say more good, but sadly I don't have much other than the food was good.

Great food and service! I will definitely be coming back here on a regular basis. Great appetizers, and overall all the food we had was good!

Food quality as sub par (they couldn'take a rare steak). Service was awful. Granted, there was a table of us but the knew we were coming. Underwhelmed.

THIS IS AWFUL! Don't ever come here with a big group. We've been here for 2 hours and are just now getting our food. This is american food. one of the easiest dishes to make. it shouldn't take 2 hours to make burgers, sandwiches and wings. the food isn't even that good. literally the whole restaurant left before we even got our food. overall i just wouldn't come here again. we had plans after dinner, not anymore. It's too late. Also we had a reservation.

Our first visit tonight. Enjoying the warm weather on their gorgeous outside deck. Great service and very clean. Fun music playing on the outside speakers and generally a great atmosphere. I ordered the Friday night fish and chips special and my husband got their rib dinner. Everything was good and the ribs are so tender and smoky... delicious. We left happy and plan to return.

Great food, friendly service. The prices were reasonable. We had a table of 10 and they were very accommodating. It was a little to chilly to sit on the deck but it was a very lovely setting.

We stored in and had a nice meal. We got a range of appetizers, sandwiches, soup and salads. Everyone was happy with their orders. The jalapeños cheese sticks which was a special were amazing!!

Pleasantly surprised. We passed by and passed by and passed by Cameron's so many times. We kept saying "we should try that place". A few weeks ago we finally parked in the lot and unfortunately they just closed. We looked around and realized they had a really cute patio in the back. Ok. We'll try again. Well......today was the day. We walked in and was greeted by smiling friendly faces. Inside it has a cabin woodsy chalet feel. The bar was cozy and looked stocked. We sat in a comfortable booth with plenty of elbow room. We looked at the menu and saw a wide range of choices. There was also a "specials" board. Our waitress came over and was very friendly. We asked for the combo appetizer but she recommended the Mexican dip. We were not disappointed. It was so good. Almost addictive. It had beans and cream cheese and more cheese and jalapeños and I don't know what else but that could have been my whole meal. Then we ordered the bbq brisket Mac and cheese. The Mac was creamy and the brisket was tender. It was a perfect combo. Yum! Then we ordered the ribs. Again tender and the bbq sauce was perfect. We then asked the waitress "what do you have for dessert?" She brought out a tray of the most amazing pastries. We chose the strawberry shortcake. We got home, turned on a movie and sat and ate probably the best strawberry shortcake I had ever had. What a great dinner experience. You would never know from the outside but I recommend going inside and see (and taste) for yourself. I was pleasantly surprised.

Good deck, nice furniture outside. Wait staff was good overall, but food was terrible. I ordered a chicken with cheese and mushrooms, and what I got was dry meat with a congealed mass of shredded cheese on it. There were whole bay leaves left in my mashed potatoes, and when I asked the gentleman, who I later learned to be the owner, about it, I was told, "I don't know if we use bay leaves or not," and he went back to chit-chat with customers he was more familiar with. Less schmoozing and more service would have been nice. I understand wanting to talk with friends and putting priority with regulars, but being dismissed that way has ensured I never go back, and it's a shame too since the ambiance is so inviting.

We love Cameron's. We really like the black and blue burger w bacon. The Brussels sprouts w balsamic are very good. The service has always been great and the owners are very nice too. Whiskey slushy is very refreshing. Live sitting on the deck or at the bar.

Met the owners of this establishment, and they are very friendly. As for the restaurant, it is clean and nicely set up inside and outside they have a nice deck in the back overlooking the pond. The food was good, nothing real, fancy burgers, ribs, and such. But all was well prepared and delicious. When we come back to Buchanan will eat there again.

Most comfortable bar stools that I have ever sat on! I'm sure there are some comfy seats in bars across the country, but in my opinion these are the best! Seriously, first time in, came recommended from a friend. Nothing fancy but who needs fancy to enjoy some delicious ribs and chicken wings! Gods variety of beers on tap and even more bottled beers in the cooler. The menu has many options for all types of customers with specials throughout the week. Very busy on a Friday night but fully staffed and all customers being waited on professionally. Highly recommended!

On 2/17/23, we decided to give this a try for lunch. It was around 12:30. Not busy at all. Just 1 other table with 2 people. Waitress was very friendly. I ordered the Reuben sandwich and my partner had the chicken fingers and a cup of soup. Both meals came with fries. We also ordered soft drinks. Reuben was okay, but it was just sliced corned beef. Kind of like lunch meat. I could've gone to a fast food place and got the same for much less. My partner's chicken strips were the problem. They were way over cooked and had a burnt taste and dry. Soup was ok. We won't be returning, especially paying almost $30 (not including tip) for fast food quality. Picture is the leftovers. I only brought home the chicken so I could toss it out into the woods for the animals. On a positive note, the place was very clean.

My burger was cooked perfectly. My son got the Cam's Ham - the 1/2 portion....It was insanely HUGE!!! It was so good. Husbo got the reuben....said it was pretty good. The service was fantastic and the inside reminded me of being in the northwoods of Wis. Totally coming back here.

Owner friendly, server not so much. Didn't know they had specials till we ordered. Brisket tasted old and was very dry. Drowning it in bbq sauce didn't hid this. Mac and cheese very bland. Fish very bland too. Not likely to return. Hope their quality improves.

Nice family dining. A Buchanan secret. Reasonably priced and an outdoor deck great for those late summer afternoons.

Just don't. Overcooked food. Nice big deck on back, but food and service are subpar. If you knew this place when it was Sonny's, it's not even close. They don't even serve fried chicken. Take a pass.

I love Cameron's. I understand they are understaffed just as many businesses are understaffed. However, my husband ordered the special-pulled pork Mac and cheese. The pork on top was waaaay overly cooked. To the point it was crunchy. Normally, I love live entertainment. Tonight, however, the gentleman was hard to understand and the vibrato was waaaay too much. I hope people step up to work soon. I'd hate for the good places to go down hill.

Awesome relaxing place. Deck is so modern, adds a brilliant classy touch! Food is wonderful. Great service. A must see!!!!

We visited Cameron's for the first time and it was great! The new owners, Cameron and Donna, have done a wonderful job. We sat in back on their incredible new deck that opened last week. It's a large, relaxing space with a view of the pond below. The service and food were also perfect. We will be back many times.

Friendly, locally owned small town resturant. Great burgers and chicken sandwiches.

This is the best restaurant,in Southwest MI. Great food, excellent & friendly service, Nice scenery. Will stop in whenever I am in the area.

Cute little place tucked away in the country. We ate a great burger and onion rings out on their back deck. Live music was good and the strawberry shortcake was so light and delicious!

Three of us were in the area from our homes in North Carolina and Kentucky. We went to Cameron's on Friday night August 6th and the food and service were outstanding. We decided to go again the next night and we were joined by my son, daughter in law and granddaughter. We all had an excellent meal on the deck and again the service was superb. We look forward to eating here again when we are in the area.

Very very good food! Wonderful people too! Had the perch dinner. It was perfect! Relaxing atmosphere!

We decided to order to go, as we had not tried this place out since it reopened. Guy who answered the phone was very nice and helpful explaining the menu and current selections. Ribs were awesome!!! It's great to be able to get something like this in Buchanan. We will definitely be going back!

There are so many wonderful things about this restaurant, I thought it would easiest to list a few. 1) The Owners - Cameron and Donna are absolutely amazing. Their priority is customer satisfaction and it shows! 2) The View - Cameron's is currently adding a back patio that overlooks water and it's beautiful and very serine to watch the wildlife. I can't wait to come back and enjoy lunch/dinner outside. 3) The Food -Their chili is a MUST HAVE! If you're not a chili fan, no worries! I have had several dishes and have never walked away not satisfied! (You can check out what they have to offer on Facebook) 4) Wonderful staff, they really make for a happy atmosphere! 5) Family Friendly - Take the kids, they'll enjoy it!

If I could have put 0 stars I would have. I was visiting from Dallas TX and decided to take a close friend here. I have eaten here before 100's of times when it was Sonny's always known for the chicken. Had a New York strip steak as a special that evening for 19.99, came with fries. Baked potato was extra, and salads were extra. Ordered a tea as a beverage. Salad came with things on it I did not want, and requested only a little cheese. Waitress told me they had no cheese, and to keep the things that came on the salad because my friend might want to eat them. OK, struck me as odd. The steaks came I had ordered medium rare and my friend had ordered medium. Both steaks were mooing and were cool in the middle. I can eat steak tartar, but my friend ate a bit off the edge and refused to eat any more. He did take it home to cook it to his liking in the microwave. I simply ate mine. No iceberg lettuce in the salad, no cheese in the restaurant, very nominal portion of fries, no one in the kitchen that knows how to cook, and no fried chicken. My bill was 56 dollars and I left a 10 dollar tip. I could have eaten a lot better elsewhere for that kind of money in South Bend. Sadly to say, I will not ever plan on going here again. Sad as there seem to be no real great go to places in Niles or Buchanan. Went to numerous restaurants over the 5 weeks I was there, and the best place I ate was Culver's. Sorry Cameron's hope you find a good cook and I will come back.

New ownership, but the food is just as good if not better than when the original owners ran it. Will continue to give them my business for as long as im in the area. You can never go wrong with their lake perch dinner.
