Excellent B&B in a great location. Stayed for 2 nights. The room was very clean and well appointed. My wife and I both thought the room was perfectly decorated and had really serene, relaxing vibe. Lots of outlets for charging devices. The kitchen area and deck off the back off the property were great places to enjoy the coffee and popcorn that were always available. The breakfast in the morning was a set menu of 4-5 different choices which included scrambled eggs, pancakes, rice and beans and the freshest fruit!! The manager/host Diego was always available and super helpful with making suggestions for things to see and places to eat. We would definitely stay at Camino Verde again without hesitation

Great location and service. Breakfast was nice and we used the laundry service which was good. The room and bathroom were a bit small and dated, but not bad for the price and the room was clean with comfy bedding. The only negatives were noise (you could hear everyone walking down the corridor) and the shower which constantly switched between boiling hot and freezing cold.

Our stay at Camino Verde Bed & Breakfast in Monteverde was wonderful overall, and the Deluxe Apartment turned out to be one of the most comfortable and thoughtfully designed accommodations we found in the area. We opted for the apartment room that is about 50 meters from the lobby in a small stand alone 1 bedroom house. It was spacious, bright, and tastefully decorated, with a welcoming blend of modern comfort and local charm. We enjoyed the extra space, especially having a separate living area. The bed was very comfortable, and the sofa-bed in the living area would be ideal for small families. The apartment’s layout gave it more of a “home-away-from-home” feel than a typical hotel room. The unit also has some fun touches, a standup video game system preloaded with hundreds of classic video games, a Nintendo game system, a turntable and classic rock vinyl, and a diorama of vintage cameras. The wood burning stove in the bedroom provide a beautiful ambiance and welcome warmth during a lovely rain filled afternoon. The well-equipped kitchenette was a major plus — perfect for preparing morning coffee, snacks or simple meals. We also enjoyed the little touches like reliable Wi-Fi, 2 flat-screen smart TVs, in-room safe, daily housekeeping, fresh towels, and eco-friendly local toiletries made the stay feel cared for in every detail. There is a glass water bottle in the fridge for cold water, but be aware it is not what you think of as "bottled" water but instead filled daily with tap water, which is completely safe to drink (unlike some countries). The unit also comes with private parking inside the fence that encompasses the entire unit. Breakfast & Hospitality Breakfast each morning was a highlight — fresh tropical fruit, pancakes or eggs made to order, and excellent Monteverde coffee served on the open-air terrace with lovely valley views. The staff were unfailingly kind, offering local insights, tour assistance, and a genuine sense of welcome that reflects the best of Costa Rican hospitality. Location & Ambiance Camino Verde’s location is ideal — just a short walk to downtown Santa Elena, yet surrounded by greenery and overlooking the cloud forest hills. That said, the convenience does come with some urban noise. Because the apartment is close to the street and adjacent to a small parking area, traffic sounds were noticeable at night, and during our stay, on the fist night a car alarm repeatedly triggered by the motorcycles blasting down the road disturbed the otherwise peaceful setting and interrupting our sleep. I was informed the next morning that there is 24hr security and I could have reported the disturbance to get the issue addressed. I suggest packing earplugs or if you are very sensitive skip the apartment and request one of the quieter rooms toward the back of the property. Overall Impression Despite the nighttime noise, we loved our stay. The apartment’s size, comfort, and thoughtful amenities, combined with the friendly service and hearty breakfasts, make Camino Verde one of Monteverde’s best values. With just a few small adjustments to sound control or parking arrangements, it would be close to perfect. We’d happily return.

Don't look for any other lodging---just stay here! Trust me, you will not regret it. We were taken care of as if we were cherished family. There was an issue with transportation we had arranged through the lodging. Staff (Diego) bent over backwards to make amends. We can't thank him enough! Our stay was very comfortable, breakfast was delicious. No complaints! Would definitely stay here again and again.

We recently stayed in the spacious Apartment room at Hotel Camino Verde B&B in Monteverde. It was an excellent base for exploring the region. This is a family-managed property that genuinely feels like home, perfectly blending comfort with an unbeatable location.||The Location: Walk to Town, Drive to Adventure||Camino Verde's biggest asset is its placement. You get a quiet, elevated setting while being an easy 5-minute walk from downtown Santa Elena. This proximity gives you effortless access to all the wonderful shops, restaurants, and art galleries without needing your car.||The hotel is perfectly positioned for adventure. It's only a 15-minute drive to the entrances of both the famed Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve (once the road reopens) and the Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve, making early morning excursions simple. Its proximity to the Selvatura Adventure Park also made the hanging bridges tour completely stress-free.||Spacious and Homely Comfort||The Apartment room provided much-needed space and privacy after long days of activity. The rooms are comfortable, cozy, and inspired by a rustic 'Tica House' design. Key apartment features include:||A fully equipped kitchen, which offers the flexibility to prepare your own coffee & meals.||High-speed Wi-Fi and private, secure onsite parking (a huge advantage over street parking).||A wood-burning stove in the bedroom for relaxation and reading during cool, rainy afternoons.||Fun amenities like video games, a turntable (with classic rock LPs), and a TV add a cool, retro vibe.||A Quick Note on Noise||The one minor trade-off for the B&B's superb proximity to Santa Elena is the potential for noise. While it was generally quiet at night, we were disrupted on the first night by a recurring car alarm from the parking lot. Additionally, traffic noise is noticeable from early until late. However, for us, the sheer convenience of the location far outweighed this flaw, but sensitive sleepers should be aware.||Unmatched Hospitality||The staff at Camino Verde truly provide first-rate service. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and go the extra mile. They provided excellent, stress-free assistance with booking all our tours and transportation. We genuinely felt encouraged to treat the lodge as our home.||A Delicious Start to Every Day||The included breakfast was a daily highlight. They offer a hot, fresh breakfast with five options to choose from, providing a delicious and substantial start for our days of exploration.||Hotel Camino Verde offers unparalleled value, comfort, and service in a prime Monteverde location. We highly recommend the Apartment for families or groups needing extra space!

Perfect location and proximity to town and as a base for Monteverde Cloud Forest. The rooms and bathrooms are on the smaller side but perfectly fine and have everything you need. The service from the staff is 10/10 and you have access to free filter coffee and popcorn throughout the day in the dining area! In terms of vegan food, we had the gallo pinto with some plantain and a side of fruit, which was very tasty. Definitely recommended for a stay in Monteverde.

Such a charming place to stay in Monteverde. Service was excellent and rooms were clean. Large walk in shower. The front desk will gladly help you arrange tours, transportation, and give great advice and suggestions on things to do in the area. The location is great, just a short walk to downtown. Diego was a fantastic host. I highly recommend for your stay in Monteverde.

One of our favourite stays of the trip. Breakfast was good and included fruit juice and coffee. The room was a bit on the smaller side but this was fine for us as we was sharing a bathroom anyway. The soap they provided was high quality. Good location near to town and the staff were always super helpful. Loved sitting by the fire on an evening reading my book too! Kitchen was also big and always clean.
