My wife and I went on our honeymoon to South Africa and our first stop was in Cape Town, where we stayed at the Camissa House. It was everything’s we could have asked for and more. The hotel is situated at the bottom of Table Mountain and boasts incredible views of both Lion’s Head Mountain and the city itself. Beyond the views, the hotel is extremely clean and the staff is incredibly warm, professional, and accommodating. Additionally, the breakfast was delicious, the evening snacks and drinks were great, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The free transportation into the heart of the city was also a nice added bonus. We will not hesistate to stay at the Camissa House next time we are in Cape Town!

Thank you to all the amazing staff at Camissa House that made our first stop of our honeymoon so special. Everybody was so friendly, kind and genuine, always knew your first name and your drink/breakfast orders. Kudos to the staff Tumey, Faseegh, Chef, David, and Iyanda who shuttled us back and forth from dinner. A beautiful property that was a home away from home.

We were pampered at Camissa House from the time we arrived until the time we left. Every staff person we encountered was warm, friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The smiles of Carlington and Faseegh brightened the rainy days we experienced. Breakfasts, prepared by Camille, were extraordinary from his amazing muesli to specials of the day. Cappuccinos were delicious. The hotel itself is gorgeous. Its breakfast area is flanked by two-story glass walls giving the area a bright, airy atmosphere. Our room, that backed up to Table Mountain, was lovely with an excellent shower. Afternoon tea, served either outside overlooking Cape Town, or inside next to a cozy fireplace (wonderful in cool weather) was delicious and so filling that we often skipped dinner. It is impossible to overstate how fantastic Camissa House is. I would highly recommend it to anyone going to Cape Town.

We had an incredible time at Camissa House. The staff is incredible (!!), the food is delicious, and the views are unparalleled. I loved the boutique hotel environment and being away from the bustle of downtown, but still only a short drive away. Would highly recommend this hotel, and hope to stay here again in the future!

Our stay at Camissa House exceeded our expectations. The staff, accommodations and location are outstanding! Our stay at this modern boutique hotel was perfect in every way. The staff were warm and welcoming and made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. Our room had a terrace overlooking the Cape. The breakfasts were delicious! In addition to a bountiful buffet they also offered made to order hot dishes! On our anniversary they surprised us with flowers, wine and candy! In the evening they would help us with dinner reservations and provide transportation. The location at the base of table mountain was very peaceful and yet we were very close to the waterfront and Camps Bay. We highly recommend Camissa House!

Returning to Cape Town after a safari I wanted a more tranquil experience than the touristy waterfront area. All the editorial and reviews praising the Camissa House’s secluded location near Table Top mountain, its boutique luxury design and service made it sound like the perfect choice. When I made the reservation I was alerted that I was booking the last room available. ||When I arrived I was surprised to find that we were one of the few- if not the only - guests there. I have been in this situation before in other small luxury hotels and the experience is divine- almost like being in your own private home. Here it just felt creepy. Were we just there to keep the proverbial lights on? During the day the hotel was also being used for events and photo shoots. The hotel seemed to be run with a skeleton staff. The 24 hour “butler” seemed more like a night attendant. Restaurant reservations were not very savvy. It was not the bespoke service suggested by all the fluffy marketing. Everyone was very nice however and the breakfast was delicious. ||All of this would have been fine if we weren’t paying luxury prices for what is now a mid range “design” hotel. Our luxury terrace room was a lot smaller than it appeared in pictures. The walls were paper thin. Any noise from the atrium echoed up and in. The bathroom, perhaps trendy at one point, now just felt uncomfortable (the toilet and shower is separated by smoked glass). The furnishings had a lot of wear. The sheets, lumpy pillows and towels probably had not been replaced since the hotel opened in 2019 and it showed. There were old stains on everything. I have never seen this in an almost $600/night room much less a $200. I felt like we were staying in a tired Miami South Beach Hotel. ||I believe the the owner runs a large travel agency. He needs to spend some time upgrading the hotel rather than marketing it.

We stayed here while on our honeymoon in Cape Town and absolutely loved it. Hotel is on the highest street running up Table Mountain, so it has great views and is in a safe/quiet neighborhood (while also only a 10min drive from the center of town). Hotel and rooms are upscale and clean, but the staff are what made the experience so memorable. Everyone was so kind. Since it’s a small hotel, our interactions with the team felt very personal, like we were ‘going home’ each time we came back from an outing. Breakfast was delicious, they make great cocktails (for free), and they will drop you off and pick you up (for free) at your dinner restaurant.

Cannot say enough about the Camissa House. We had an incredible stay. Excellent accommodation, beautiful view, comfy bed and wonderful staff. Only comment is that it is a bit out of the way - tucked in a quiet neighborhood on the edge of Table Mountain. But that is exactly why we choose it! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a “special” experience.
