Camlihemsin Tasmektep Hotel

Taşmektep was my third stop during my area inspection. I arrived quite late in the evening and it was very nice to get a call from them asking whether I was OK and coming :)||Very friendly and welcoming staff was was waiting for me as I arrived. You need to take off shoes when you go upstairs and to your room. Whole premises is very clean and restored as boutique and stylish when it was converted from old primary school. The rooms are very big enough to comfort you. The building is covered by stone from exterior and all has wooden interior construction. Walls are stone as well. The hotel is located few steps away from Fırtına river and It was amazing to fall a sleep with hearing the sound of the water as well as wake up. ||The owner Ms Demet is very interesting and seemed to have intellectual character to me. Although she looks a bit tough, I liked her very much and I think she really fits and compatible with the soul of the building and the consept of the hotel. ||Here are the few personal outlook and tips;||- The parking in front of the hotel is limited. you may have to leave your car on the road (which has rare traffic) in case it is full.||- Do not expect air condition as it is historical building, no air-con installation due to protection, which I support. Fans are available.||- There is minimarket located just few meters away and a small restaurant in case you need.||- The hotel is located approximately 20 km from Ayder Plateau, 1,5 km from Çamlıhemşin and 11 km from Zilkale. ||- The breakfast is OK however it may need more selections.||- Wifi is very fast and great working. ||- Slippers are available

My mom and I stayed at Tasmektep Hotel during our visit in Camlihemsin and it was a great decision. The rooms are very clean. The staff felt like we went to a family house. They are super friendly and helpful with everything you need. They told us lot about the local traditions, culture, food and people which is very valuable because Camlihemsin is not only about it's sublime nature but also it's strong culture and passionate people. The breakfast is very rich with freshly brewed tea!|| ||The building is a former school that got renovated with the help of locals. You can easily run in to people that went to elementary school in this building around the hotel.||||The location is very acessible. You can walk to the centre of the town where there are small shops and restaurants in about 10 minutes. Beautiful Firtina River is right next to the hotel and sleeping with the sound of it is pretty amazing. If you cross the street and find the hidden path down to the river, there is a beautiful stone bridge just a few steps away. Morning walks around the bridge and watching the pink sky during the sunset on the bridge is highly recommended.||||I would definitely come back and stay here next time i'm in Camlihemsin.

This is a hotel in Nature! A privilegged boutique hotel next to a running little river called Fırtına (meaning thunderstorm in Turkish), greenest hills surrounding the rivers' valley, small autenthic villages to visit, to enjoy long trekking paths.. The hotel is converted from an old school building patiently. The rooms are wide, place is clean, most of the food is organic and local, staf is hospitable, the environment is unique. Take time to ask for the details within the building. Ask for help to visit the platos and the nearby villages with magnificent big old houses. Excellent for trekking and discovering nature. Become friends of this area and help it to be announced as a "natural reserve".

This is a special hotel converted from an old building. Rooms are big, you have everything you need and is extremely clean.||Staff is welcoming and helpful. I stayed in a number of places while traveling with my motorcycle. Most places family owned and far from being pro.||This place is by far too different in the way they do business. They found he sweet balance between making money and doing what you like to do.||I had hard times to believe the quality of the renovation of he building. I am not an expert by no means but I can easily say that this is no amateur job.||You can stay by yourself or with family, with small kids etc.. No TV sets in the rooms, internet working well. They do have a restaurant.||After spending some days around uzungol and ayder, I am very happy to see people who knows what they are doing. There are many crap places all around.

Tasmektep Otel was perfectly situated for our exploration of the Ayder Plateau and the Firtina Valley. A beautifully restored historic building which once served as a school, the hotel had charm and comfort to offer as well as very helpful staff and a lovely breakfast with which to start the day. It was clean and comfortable and a lovely place to stay. We definitely plan to return and recommend it highly for anyone planning a trip to the area.

We liked this place so much! The staff is very friendly and make you feel comfortable. The spirit of the hotel owners turns this location to a special place. They can give you useful advicea if you are intrested in hiking. Everything was just perfect!

A very nice and cozy hotel which was previously a village school. It is run by Emre and his parents. They are very helpful and friendly. I stayed there with a group of 10 people for 3 nights and we really enjoyed our stay.

I was searching for hotel literally on the bus when it approached Rize. After realizing I made a mistake about the length of staying in Rize was less than one day. I called up the hotel and luckily Demet picked up the phone. ALL THANKS to her that she helped us through the whole trip in Rize: finding the shuttle to Camlihemsin from Rize, strategizing ways to get to Trabzon airport, looking for airport shuttle bus schedule for the early morning flight, organizing taxi to the plateau, drawing us map for the trip, tips to come back from the plateau, etc... which all take the time and effort. It wouldn't be possible to see everything without her help. And the hotel itself is just lovely, I love how they decorated the space and the idea of keeping the photos from the school before. This was a very short stay but the most memorable one :)

I really enjoyed this hotel that was converted from an old school house. The gentleman who served us in the restaurant actually went to school there. Our room was spacious with two single beds that can easily be rolled next to each other. It overlooked the river. The managers were very friendly and attentive. We ate breakfast and dinner there. We ordered fresh trout (alabalik) for dinner and it was simply delicious. They also have alcohol. ininfo@camlihemsintasmektep.com This is an absolutely beautiful area of the country.
