Camp Elena

This was a phenomenal last minute find! The tent was so luxurious and I wish we would've stayed more than one night! The bathroom was modern and so comfortable. The domes with the shared bathrooms make this place so much cozier! The deck has great views of the stars and are all facing away from each other for privacy. The mini kitchen had a great fridge and freezer, along with real coffee beans and grinder, no silly K-cups. Would 10/10 recommend staying here, only 10 minutes from downtown Terlingua and not far from the National Park.

Camp Elena is very special! A wonderful retreat with just enough amenities! The bed and the shower were perfect. The kitchenette was just enough and efficient. (Coffee provided--thank you!!) the deck gave us a perfect private outdoor space to soak in the expansive views. We slept so well! The only reason we didnt give five stars for location is bc it requires quite a bit of patience and a really good 4wd car to get back at night after dinner. But for us that is also the charm and the reward is peaceful & quiet nights. We highly recommend Elena for the Big Bend experience.

FANTASTIC IN ALL WAYS! My wife and I just spent 5 nights at Camp Elena while day hiking in Big Bend National Park. The accommodations were first class, super clean, beautifully designed and furnished, and fully self-contained. The hilltop location provided great views, a nice breeze and fantastic dark skies views on clear nights, and was just a few miles from good restaurants in Terlingua (Starlight Theatre, Long Draw Pizza, Venga) and within easy access to BBNP. The staff were super responsive, friendly and helpful. The dirt road in to Camp Elena was totally manageable in our compact SUV rental which did NOT have all wheel or four wheel drive. In my opinion it would be fine in a slowly driven sedan, as well. If you are planning on being in the area then don't hesitate to make a reservation. We are so glad we did!

We LOVED our stay here. The tent and the amenities were beautiful and thought out! Comfy bed, premium soaps and our tent even had books and games to use while we stayed. The site itself had stunning views of the mountains and stars! Our stay was short but we will be back!

We absolutely love staying at Camp Elena, we just stayed for the second time. It is so peaceful and comfortable. The rooms are very clean and the coffee setup is excellent. We used the grill and fire pit and did lots of stargazing, it’s so dark out there! Both times we’ve visited we’ve stayed at other places in the area for the second half of our trip, which ranged from okay to the worst stay of all time. We ended up wishing we stayed at reliable, consistent camp Elena the whole time! Next time we will be staying at camp Elena the whole trip :)

Just got back from our 2 night stay and we loved it! This was our second time visiting Big Bend and knew that we had to visit Camp Elena for a second time as well. The room is great, spacious, and quite luxurious! We came when temperatures were freezing and definitely utilized the heater in the tent. The view is absolutely unbeatable. Would definitely recommend this anyone visiting the area or the National Park.

Incredible stay at beautiful Camp Elena - the perfect accommodations to enjoy this stunning location (flexible temperature control for changing weather conditions, easy access to major Terlingua spots like Venga and Starlight Theatre, and great amenities). The team was super responsive when we messaged and our check-in / check-out was seamless. Cannot recommend enough!!!

Beautiful place, just remote enough and away from the town. Most other places are right off the road and Camp Elena is perfectly away from the main road. Now let’s talk about the actual place- it’s beautiful I didn’t even realize it was as a tent at first it’s basically a 5-star cabin. After camping in the park it was such a nice experience to be able to relax and have all the amenities that we had: highly recommend!

My wife and I stayed at Camp Elena in March, 2025. We had a fantastic time. The amenities were first class and super comfortable. Also, very cool to stay in a tent. We felt like the hosts anticipated all our needs. The views from the porch were awesome. We will definitely stay there again.
