These U.S. Resorts Feel Just Like Summer Camp — and Are Fun for the Whole Family

"Last year, the company launched Camp Fimfo (sites from $125, cabins from $206), which has upscale cabins and RV sites, plus a water park, mini-golf course, and restaurants. After a successful first season in New Braunfels, Texas, the company will open a second location this summer in Waco, where travelers can stay in cylindrical cabins inspired by the city's iconic cottonseed silos." - Travel + Leisure Editors

We stayed here for a long weekend in a Firewheel cabin. Overall our kids had a good time. The pool area is nice and there are many things to do around the property. However, in our experience the cabin was very dirty at check and not well maintained. Lots of spider webs and wasp nests around the exterior of the cabin. We also found ants in the loft and small bedroom coming out of the wall. The campground was very busy and there does not seem to be enough staff to keep up with all of the needs around the property. Lots of trash around the lawn in the mornings and overflowing trashcans at check-out. Most of the staff we did see around the pool area were friendly enough but mostly just sitting around on their phones. Just an observation. I think this place has great potential but the value compared to the price was not there for us. We would likely choose to stay elsewhere next time.

This is a great place to keep your kiddos entertained. Everything was clean and nicely kept. Check in and out was super easy! My only suggestion is an attendant at the splash pad. A lot of older kids took over the slides being wild and made it hard for the little ones. We will definitely be back!

I have mixed results of our stay - we were there for 5 days and overall it was fine. The kids had a good time. However depending on who was in the front office you could get a really nice person or someone who acted like you were bothering them and barely acknowledged you. Our cabin had electrical issues and the power kept going out my husband had to keep going outside to reset the breaker, the main TV didn’t have a working remote but the remote in the bedroom worked on the main T.V until it didn’t. The “ loft” is fine if you want to crawl around on hands and knees definitely not what I expected and the refrigerator was so close to the wall the door didn’t shut right. Our younger children wanted to do the activities but the person overseeing them was very rude couldn’t help us with anything or questions and stated she didn’t care because this was her last week. For the money I expected more but everyone staying there was nice and with the playground and small water park it made the kids happy and if you don’t want to venture out you wouldn’t have to.

We booked thinking it was going to be a sunny warm weekend, but it rained a lot. The bathrooms were not kept up at all. Very muddy and hot bathrooms. Every stall had TP in it, everyday we were there. Shower stalls have no benches or storage to place your items when showering. They need more bathrooms especially if they don’t have enough golf carts for all campsites. We changed our site over the phone and the staff wasn’t the friendliest. With only one pool and the pool being the main attraction, they should stay open later than 8pm especially on a holiday weekend. Pool was crowded. Arcade is small for the size of the campground. Overall a fantastic layout, but with a park so large, they really need more planned activities. Good access to the river. Nice RV sites.

We stayed in a cabin at Camp Fimfo Waco for a week with my two boys (ages 8 and 6), and overall, it was a great experience! There was plenty to keep the kids entertained—they especially loved the pool and water playground, but also had a blast with the mini golf, playground, jumping pillow, and other activities on site. We rented a golf cart, and I definitely recommend doing the same—it made it much easier to get around, especially in the heat, since the walk from the cabins to the main amenities can be long. The cabin was clean and comfortable, perfect for a “glamping” style getaway. The only downside was the lawn care—the grass around our site was very overgrown, which made it hard to enjoy the picnic table, fire pit, and grill. I understand there’s been a lot of rain lately, but it would help if the grass were mowed before check-in. All in all, we had a great time and I’d recommend Camp Fimfo for a fun and easy trip with young kids!

We have stayed and enjoyed the park and it's amenities multiple times as a Family. Check in is easy, fast and informative. Tracy, Elena and Emma do it with ease and always a smile on their face! The cabins are well stocked and always clean- Thank you, Tonya! Toby, has helped us will small repairs at our campsite, he comes prepared and is always willing to lead a hand! The food area has delicious pizza and Philly cheese steaks. You can tell it is well managed, Thank you Amy. Squirrely's Tavern has the best drinks and bartenders around! Shout out to Maddy and the Manager, Chris, y'all are killing it! Live music on Friday and Saturday nights is always a hit, Thank you Brian for booking some solid talent! The pool area is by far our favorite. Our children love the basketball hoops and water slides! Thank you Adam! And Ed, the GM, is incredible! You can tell he has a passion for what he does and it radiants through this employees and managers. Camp Fimfo is the perfect place for our family! We love it!

My very first visiting a Camp Fimfo and within the first couple of hours I called my sister to tell her it was 10/10 and made plans to go back two weeks from now! Best part, my baby took TWO naps while in the water!! Loved the shower in the bathroom, I wish there was more than one big stall tho cause parents were nervous leaving their kid standing outside the stall door of the little ones but I had an amazing time and I can’t wait to go back!!

Google
I loved my experience at Camp Fimfo it was so fun specifically to sit at the pool bar and receive excellent service from Zoe as well as get to play some basketball hoops in the water, even get to relax in the sun and go around the part with the slides. Fun for the whole family and enjoyable time for adults too! Thank you staff :)

Yelp
Granted, I just booked it two weeks before the Fourth of July weekend. For $125 a night for our RV....(where YOU TAKE YOUR hotel with you on wheels)... it was STILL $125 a night (I think they're trying to be Jellystone which they are NOT JellyStone !!!)...OK there are amenities we're used to $50 to $70 a night so that made sense; however, they still charge per person for the waterpark and other features plus they nickel and dime ($194 a day for Poolside Cabana... ours was full of bird crap and they came to barely wipe it off. It rained on us like cats and dogs underneath the cabana and we got rained on underneath the pavilion that we paid $200 for mention the TV never worked what a joke ) so almost $1500 later for a Fourth of July weekend we will never be back and then being a veteran coming back and asking for the veterans discount since they never called me back to get it in the first place since they don't make that readily available to make it legitimate to begin with when booking, they said well will apply discounts towards YOUR NEXT purchase .....what a nickel and dime operation!!!!! No thanks !!! There is a much better waterpark for $30 a day an actual waterpark..where I can go to a much more affordable RV park (since I am bringing my hotel on wheels to begin with ) and nicer RV park because they actually keep up the grounds better and there's more space for parking for a much better price at like $50 per night and I can do a waterpark for a day pass (@$30/day) so that's what we're gonna do in the future! When you go into a convenient store and they're charging double for a soda pop ($3.99) or a water that tells you a lot right then $ there....... Besides, they allow the public in so they can park everywhere so it's over flooded with other people that aren't actually staying at the RV park so you overpay for your RV spot that never got mowed or up kept properly and overpay for the RV park amenity to be crowded out by the outside public. It makes sense to go to another nicer RV park much cheaper per night and pay for a much better waterpark at Hurricane Harbor per day!!!!! Just Saying! Oh another important Mark the water wasn't even working at our RV spot and it was Waco wide apparently so we literally had to rely on the water we came with in our camper so barely got showers. Unbelievable! The Wi-Fi sucks ! So what did we actually pay for except that we well overpaid?

Yelp
We came during the off season and I highly recommend it! Mini golf, the zip lines, basketball court, the pillow... all of it was awesome! Can't wait to bring them back in the warmer weather. Definitely give it a shot! The kids were worn out and we all had fun.

Yelp
Update: The pool is apparently heated to 80 degrees- that is still fairly cold so we couldn't tell. The workers were talking about the broken pool bar water heater which is why that is closed. After I wrote the first review, our RV site was completely flooded because of a the sprinkler system and a badly placed sprinkler head. Unbelievable FIMFO! Site 632 has a sprinkler head literally next to the picnic table and in the middle of the site where people set up their camp. Sprinklers went on and we literally had to stand on the sprinkler head and call the emergency line to get them turned off. Our site is a mud pit now. Again- we feel stuck. They have offered us a new site, but any RV'er knows how long it takes to break down camp, repack everything, re-hitch to move a few spots away only to have to repeat it all again. Emma in management a gave us a credit for one night for our site being flooded. We opted to stick it out in the current site but had to spend $$ on tarps and a new outdoor rug to cover the mud. Sigh. I still haven't received a reply from Emma as to whether we can use the credit at the other FIMFO location- we are pretty done with the Waco spot.

Yelp
Overpriced trailer park. Flat. No shade. No trees. Bar service terrible. Pool area is covered in trash/bees/food. Nothing like Camp Fimfo in New Braunfels.

Yelp
This place is FimTastic! Great amenities like the pool, water slides, volleyball courts, basketball, pickleball, etc. The cabin was pretty spacious and felt very modern. Called a few times to ask questions and the customer service was always spot-on. Definitely will be back.

Yelp
The property is quite spacious. Our river cabin was right by the river, but unfortunately, we couldn't see it due to overgrown brush that needed clearing. The cabin itself was nice, with comfortable beds and clean sheets. There were some extras like dishes, utensils, cookware, toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, and sponges under the sink. But no coffee filters! Boo! While there aren't any hiking trails, there are outdoor activities for kids. Our kids loved the bouncy pad and the playground. They also enjoyed the fossil find activity, where you can purchase a bag of dirt at the store. We spent most of our time at the pool and water park, which was the highlight of our stay and pretty much all they had in terms of entertainment. The store was well-stocked with fair prices. The food was good, although the pizza was a bit doughy. There's even a bar on site. It was a nice quick weekend getaway, but we wished there were more activities. It also seemed like they were understaffed in some areas. We met a few employees, and they were really nice. Cherish was very personable and helpful, and Andy at the bar was great. The other campers were friendly and helpful. We met a lot of people, and our kids enjoyed it.

Yelp
What a fabulous family fun place to go enjoy in Waco, Tx. Actually you don't even need family. Just be adventurous and young at heart. There is so much to enjoy while relaxing. We stayed in our RV and took grandkids. They had a ball. So many fun kids activities. They have a cute little restaurant with good food and a darling general store. The only overpriced thing is bagged ice!!! They have everything you need to play tennis, pickleball, putt putt, woofle ball, soccer. Take your own pool towels. They have cabanas to rent which are great for shade but a little high dollar. I had a few issues with some cleanliness but when I voiced my thoughts they got right on it. Super fun craft activities for kids. Emily and Abigail awesome in that area. Aliyah was our bright sunshine gal at the pool. If you live close to Waco it is a super economical awesome vacay place because no flight costs! We went Monday through Friday and it was so quiet and nice.

Yelp
So fun for kids of all ages! We have stayed here several times and are always sad to leave, but happy to be back!

Yelp
Fimfo must have forgotten the motto WACO FRIENDLY. Half of our waves to staff weren't even returned. Store and restaurant employees didn't even 'see' us untill their conversations with each other were over. The customer does NOT come first here. THE grass on our site was long and the fire-ants took over. Did you forget why you are in business and who ultimately pays your bills? Time for an attitude adjustment from the top down. If you want to stay in business that is.

Yelp
This place has gone down hill. I think the issue is there aren't enough employees plus the place needs a really good deep cleaning. The employees are so nice and polite and are doing the best they can. I paid for a cabana and it was absolutely filthy. We didn't even use it. We sat on the 2 lounge chairs in front of it and put our cooler on the ground. inside and outside of refrigerator was dirty, couch and tables had bird crap on them, someone's half empty drinks were on top of the fridge, there was trash on the ground by the couch and refrigerator. I looked at other cabanas to move to but a few had cleaning equipment inside of them, a few were just as filthy and the others were occupied by people who I suspect didn't pay for a cabana because there wasn't a sign with a name on it. The grandkids had fun but I won't waste my money on a cabana again.

Yelp
Oh my goodness! Great customer service. From check in with friendly Tracy to Dustin and John taking care of our lot, clearing limbs, cutting grass and making sure us ladies have a sweet 1st camp out experience. Then Dakota shows up, turning water on at source. We felt like VIP''s in our lil Aliner. Store is great, supplied well. Pool and activities fun and very busy for 4th of July. We are already looking forward to next trip!

Yelp
we stay at camp Fimfo in Waco! The RV sites were top notch. all the activities kept us busy all weekend! The customer service is UNMATCHED! The staff was amazing. The food was even better!

Yelp
We've stayed at literally hundreds of RV parks across the country and this is the single most expensive one ever. They have lots of amenities that we didn't use--pool, general store, restaurant, sand vollyball, etc. and, if that's the kind of thing you're looking for, this might be your spot. We were in Waco for a wedding and needed a campsite in this part of town for four nights. We reserved a back-in site which, after some hard rains, was a lot like wet cement. We called the office to request an upgrade to a concrete pull through and, for a small fortune, they accommodated us. This place is huge and was only about a quarter full while we were there. Power is good, wi-fi is good, cable is good, the dog park was a muddy mess after the rains. One section has some shade but most of the park has small, newly-planted dead or dying trees. It's been a hot summer in Waco. As this park gets more established I think it will be better. For now, we'll go elsewhere.

Yelp
This weekend we traveled to Waco and stayed here. I can say I wasn't disappointed. We stayed in the cabin that had 3 rooms which included 1 room with 2 bunk beds, 1 room with 1 bunk bed and 1 room with 1 full sized bed and 1 full bath and kitchen/living room. Where our cabin was located was right near the playground so when the kids were dying to go outside, we could watch from the patio. On the patio there was a picnic table and 2 lounge chairs. There was alot of mud on the patio when we got there and around. I am assuming Waco recently had rain. We went to the General Store and met John who was really helpful and answered my random questions about Waco and the Dr Pepper Museum. He also informed us that since we had a credit that we could use it in the General Store but not in the restaurant that was in the same building but on the other side. You would need to go to the General Store to also check out the golf clubs b/c you guessed it they had a putt putt course which the kids enjoyed even though there was kid drama. We attended the pancake bar for breakfast on our last day and it was great. It cost $4 and you got 3 pancakes and they had all the toppings on the bar for you. They have a bar that is also connected that we didn't go to due to all these kids in our part. I know me and my daughter will probably come back just us because they also have a pool that looked fun but sadly it was closed and it was November.

Yelp
The bosses are like the SS. I asked for help hooking up my lines and the person sent to help said something insanely vulgar. i can't even write it...He apologized, got scared and begged me not to tell the bosses. I was seriously in shock. But I laughed it off. Then he came over out of uniform with beer. I never gave him any reason to think I was interested. He sent a vulgar text. i reported the text...I showed the text to the manager. Obviously this Kapo employee lied to save his job because after that they wouldn't tell me if he was fired or still employed so I locked my door before going to sleep in a $1200 space. yeah. $1200. There are no trees no shade it's more expensive then a 5 star Manhattan hotel and it was miiiiserable camping there. The fire ants invaded my bed and I ended up with pus filled bites in my belly button and one on the sole of my foot making me limp the next day. I had to ask for my grass to be mowed. it was up above my ankles. Jamie M. from Camp Fimfo trolls this website and comments. I honestly could sue Camp Fimfo for mental distress. I beg everyone to Ignore the trolling Camp Fimfo's comments.

Yelp
**Update** 2 management representatives visited the site and did try to rectify the situation. It was very much appreciated and we were offered some compensation. The place definitely has potential just needs some work. It's a FimNO for me. I've never left a review an hour after checking in but, this is how bad this place is. The RV spot we paid for was a Riverview red carpet site. This was the exact opposite of what we got. The grass and weeds were at least 2 feet tall around the whole site which made the grill and river inaccessible and the water and electrical hookups barely accessible. I called the office to see if we could get another site (would have even settled for a cheaper site than what we paid for) but, all I got was an excuse a about a broken mower and "sorry‍" If you enjoy a jungle like atmosphere with visibility to a mini excavator at the entrance to your RV pad, then this place is for you. Save your money and support your state parks instead!!!!

Yelp
Camp Fimfo was such a great experience! This was our first time visiting Waco and we're so glad we stayed here! We had 3 families getting together and the cabins accommodated us perfectly!! The customer service was phenomenal! Tracy was so kind and helpful when it came to adjusting our reservations and needing things during our stay. Definitely recommend for anyone traveling with kiddos. Our boys woke up ready to play every day at the playground, the jumping bubble and the zipline. Even the adults were able to hop on the ziplines for a race! We also made great use of the pickleball courts. We stopped at the general store on our last day and wish we stopped there first. They have everything you need (games, food, necessities, etc.) Only downfall was our cabin's floors were pretty dirty and the doors had issues closing but overall, totally worth it for the price we paid and all the amenities. We will definitely be coming back in the summer to try out the water park!! Don't hesitate, book your stay!! Camp Fimfo gave our family great memories!! It's incredibly close to downtown Waco, Magnolia Silos and Baylor! Perfect location!

Yelp
We stayed here last year (2024). The park staff was really friendly until...the lawn crew ran into my bedroom slide with the lawnmower and caused some cosmetic damage. they wanted to have me get an estimate to avoid insurance, which I understood, and they were very nice while I was face to face. Once I left and got the estimate however they basically ghosted me. They refused to provide me with the incident paperwork or any contact information for the responsible person. I finally gave up and filed it with my insurance and it appears that Camp Fimfo Waco is denying everything because my insurance has processed the claim as an "at fault" meaning I am going to pay the deductible and my rates will increase. After talking with other friends that worked for the parent company, this kind of shady business is just part of the organizational culture. Trees all of the park are dead and falling every day, we had a limb fall on our site that would have killed someone if they were outside. On the positive I had firewood for the entire 6 weeks I was there. The heated pool and the hot tub didn't work, there was no "adult" pool time which made the swim up bar less fun than anticipated. Overall it was a disaster, that has taken over a year to recover from.

Ruthanne N.

Yelp
We weren't able to locate our camp spot as all the driver side markings were gone. A very nice gentleman in a cart took the time to show us where to park. He also took the time to explain why the markers were missing. The location is close to the places we wanted to visit. Too bad you have to answer so many questions to post a review when asked by Camp Fimfo. Why do they need to know my age and income? Just to tell them I liked their camp?

Yelp
I definitely want to start by saying that this is a great idea, could be really awesome, and we hope that it is successful so that we can maybe come back. I know I was probably a Karen and I honestly hate that. Strap in for a novel. We have a toddler who loves to be outdoors. We wanted to do car tent camping but with amenities to ease us into the situation so we looked into Camp Fimfo. The first ''meh" situation is that I miscommunicated which weekend that we wanted to go with my husband. I booked the reservation on one afternoon, then the next morning I realized I booked for the wrong weekend. I went online to cancel and reschedule (there's not an option to just reschedule online) and I realized that they charged the $25 cancellation fee. I called to ask for that money to be refunded to me because I was just rescheduling, honest mistake. They didn't want to refund me the $25, like refused. I thought that was weird. All of us were probably thinking "it's just $25"? But in this economy that money matters and we were still planning to stay. Finally I emailed and they kindly refunded the money. Awesome. So then we arrived, looked great and cute. There was a chance of thunderstorms all weekend and we were tent camping. This normally wouldn't scare us away, but we arrived (after we checked in) to realize the tent sites were in a field that was muddy from the night before and overgrown grass that we had to walk through. To be totally fair, the girl who checked us in let us know they couldn't mow so the grass was tall. I just didn't realize it was just a field of tall grass that we had to walk through to get to our spot. Also our car had to be parked pretty far from the tent site and I prefer my car to be nearby. So we had to carry all our tent supplies and belongings through a muddy overgrown grass field to our site with a toddler. It's also hot and humid and we are all sweating. Not their fault but also I just want my car nearby. Sigh, right? Probably not the best. But we will still give it a go. After hauling all this through the field and setting up our tent, we went to plug in our extension cord and our outlet didn't work. Sigh again. We checked several outlets and a lot of them weren't working. Finally we find one that works, haul all our stuff over (car would be nice here ) and set everything up. Phew. We need to have some fun after all that. The amenities were great! Staff overall friendly, etc. After a couple hours at the pool, I'm looking at the thunderstorm rolling in, and back at our tent in the muddy overgrown grass field, and over to my toddler, thinking "I don't think I want to deal with all this all night if the mud gets worse". I call the desk and ask if we can just pay the difference to upgrade to a cabin. We really want to have fun. It was around 6:00p - 6:30p. They said they didn't have any cabins they could rent to us that night because their housekeeping staff went home? So, sadly I ask if we can cancel our second night (we were willing to give the cost for this night) because I just didn't think it was going to work out with the rain, mud, and tent. Nope! Once you check in, you can only reschedule, you can't get your money back for unused nights. Sigh again. We are leaving Texas for a few months and we can't reschedule at this time. So we ended up packing all our stuff back up, staying in a hotel, coming back and using the pool, then driving home. All that said, I know these policies are clearly stated in the fine print. It just sadly put a bad taste in my mouth and I don't think I could recommend tent camping here at this time.

Yelp
We have visited the New Braunfels location a few times but this was our first time to the Waco location. We were disappointed in our visit. The weeds/ grass were tall and unkept. Much more than just from rain. We didn't have a picnic table, grill, or fire ring like the advertised. We emailed the night we checked in and got a response. The grass around our site was mowed and a table and ring were delivered. The mowing job was not done well and he seemed careless around people's things. The pool was cold despite the website saying it would be heated. The golf cart we rented didn't stay charged for the days were there. Now these are definitely first world problems but for the price we are paying to go "camping" we could easily go elsewhere for cheaper. Now to on a positive note, Amber and Brooke are excellent staff members! Very helpful, kind, and friendly! They were truly fun to be around.
google avatar

Tiffany B.

Yelp
Was pretty disappointed about the RV sites for how much they chargers for a pull through site. The pads were narrow and hard to navigate. The grass was super long. The sites were uneven. People drove way too fast by the campers. Which made it hard to relax with our little kids running around. The pool was nice and the food was good. But unfortunately we will not be returning. Too expensive for what you get.

Kim C.

Yelp
We had a great day then 2nd afternoon with our Day Pass ( 2 separate pass purchases) at the pool and waterpark! Amber serving us at No Dive Bar was welcoming and attentive! We will definitely be back later this summer when we return to visit Waco family.

Yelp
Waco is so lucky to have a Camp Fimfo! Such a fun, unique camping experience. The facilities and amenities are beautiful (and quirky!) and well designed and the campsites were spacious and clean. Our favorite spot was the pool area (specifically the swim up bar!) and the kids loved the water playground. We enjoyed quality family time here during a little getaway to Waco and can't wait to go back. The staff were all amazing and friendly too!

Allie M.

Yelp
Spent the day at Camp Fimfo! Had the best day ever! We got to hang out and make friends with some other campers! Emily at activities was so patient and caring, we had a great time making crafts with her! Highly recommend

Yelp
Amber was amazing at the pool bar and Squirrelys tavern. She always took great care of us. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Fimfo was just what we needed for a quick one day getaway. Didn't have to leave for anything and A+ customer service.

Yelp
Even though they are still in the middle of the build process, this place is great. The staff is so friendly and the place is clean. They have a fun Waterpark for the kids, pool with swim up bar, playground, jump pad, horseshoes, sand volleyball, basketball, corn hole, store, restaurant, and plenty of RV sites. There are no cabins ready yet, but I can't imagine trying to build this place without some kind of income coming in, so I get it. Their little store is great and they have so much for the kids to do. They even had goat yoga y'all!! My friends and I came here for a girls weekend and we will return!! Some TIPS for Fimfo: better labeled RV sites, adult swim hours from 8pm-11pm instead of just closing at 8pm, a tarp placed over the jumping bag, and more chairs around the pool that are not cabana access only.

Reginald B.

Yelp
We are having an amazing stay at this campsite, thanks to Lucas Armstrong. After an unexpected issue, Lucas immediately helped us, reassured us, and continued to check on us throughout the night. His exceptional service, personal touch, veteran service, and family at the campsite made a big difference. Kudos also to the front desk ladies and the gentleman over maintenance for their support. Despite the initial hiccup, we are feeling much better about our stay and time together as a family. Thank you to the entire team!

Cindy H.

Yelp
This was our second Camp Fimfo experience having visited the Hill Country location last year. CF is a great family spot with tons to do to keep anyone engaged. The pool was fun and bar tender Amber was great! All of the staff members that we met were kind and tried to be helpful. The cabin space was a similar experience as last time. The construction is lacking in quality and I wonder how they will withstand the test of time. The kids were very wary of the rickety bunk beds and it made for some tense evenings. The kitchen did not include all of the described tools and dishes as clearly stated on the website. This should be noted on room turnover and not relying on guests to facilitate the remedy. Only one of the seven beds was made. The air intake was completely covered with hair and dust. The cabin is rated for 11 people and there was an error with registration. We had only registered 2 adults and 4 kids when it needed to be 4 and 4. The other two adults cost us an extra $200 for the weekend. We were told that the cabin rental only includes 6 people and you have to pay extra beyond that to take advantage of the on property amenities. This is stated no where on the booking information. It would be an extra $500 per weekend over the cabin rate to have the number of people it holds. At that point, you could rent another cabin. We previously had done the mixology class and had so much fun! We had extras in our group and looked forward to a similar experience. Sadly, this was, what one in our group called, "Mixology for middle schoolers." After signing up as required, the class turned out to be the bartender standing behind the bar telling us recipes and then pouring the drinks while constantly running for supplies and looking frantic. Previously we had an entire session prepared with instruction, demonstrations, and then being taught how to mix our drinks. This was awkward, rushed, and nothing like we had anticipated. The bartender noted that he had just been told that he would be doing this class 2 hours prior. Perhaps better communication amongst staff and preparation for one of the busiest weekends of the year would be a step in the right direction for next season. The same problems with inconsistency and poor communication we're found at the pool and throughout the park. The cabanas were not clean and the assignment process needs to be fixed immediately. The pool opened at 10 but patrons were let in as early as 8am to claim their cabana space. Not cool. I think this is probably our last trip to Fimfo and I truly hope they do better. This is an awesome concept and family friendly entertainment that is engaging and creative is so lacking in our society.

Yelp
This is a going to be a fantastic Rv resort in the next few months. It isn't fair to give it a full review yet because it really isn't completed. There is a lot of activities for families. The pickle ball courts are fun but it says it's open till 11:00 pm but there isn't any lights. The pool is nice but the swim up pool bar doesn't have a bartender. The hot tubs aren't heated yet. The dog park isn't open yet. There is no river access at this time. The zip line is super fun. This place has alot of potential but it is very much still under construction. Before making a reservation call and make sure the amenities you are going for are actually available at this time.

Yelp
If you have visited this Hill County Fimfo first you will be very disappointed with Waco. The grass needed mowing, everywhere! Some weeds were from weeks of not mowing, I can give grace for a rainy few days but it was more than that. Upon arrival we did not have a picnic table or fire ring which were were part of our booking so we had to contact the office and have those delivered. They did mow upon our request but just at our site, not the entire property. It was advertised the pool is heated year round but did not find out until we arrived it was broken. The golf cart we rented for the weekend went dead leaving us stranded a couple of times. The restaurant told us they ran out of fries, pizza and queso. The highlight of the trip was the fabulous bartenders: Amber and Brooke. They were friendly and took good care of us and our kids. They were the best! It was nice to have a family friendly camping option for Spring Break close to home but for the price Fimfo has some things to work out before we would consider returning.

Yelp
Great resort! We went over spring break weekend and had a blast! They had Sports activities that we could check out the equipment- pickle ball, basketball, soccer, tennis, and Miniature golf. There was a great playground. We also got a bag to do some rock mining. A walking path around a pond that people were fishing out of. Horseshoes and other games all day. Specific activities scheduled throughout the day- pony ride, yoga, candle making, fun with liquid nitrogen, and a t shirt tie dye to name a few. We rented a golf cart to get around. Great pool and hot tub with mini water park. Swim up bar and regular bar. Live music on Friday and Saturday. And a delicious restaurant along with an ice cream shop. Restrooms were clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly and very helpful. You can tell they like their jobs! It was a bit more expensive than other camping, but you are paying for the experience, and we got our money's worth. We will be back! Very dog friendly, also!

Yelp
Let's start with the good. Nice pool and water recreation area. Staff were friendly and helpful at check in. Great concept following the Yogi Bear RV park. The not so good. Pool restrooms were too far from the pool. Restrooms and showers for RV campers were not kept clean. Muddy, dirty floors. Grass was 12-18 inches tall everywhere. If you are RVing, make sure to bring leveling equipment. The concrete pads not even close to level. Low in the middle which caused rainwater to pool under the RV. The road to the RV parking spots was more of a golf cart path. If you have large rig and back in, you will cut into the grass. They allow long term RV parking. The long-term folks had trash cans out, clothes hanging on lines and bicycles thrown in the tall grass.

Yelp
This TV park is a mud hole. The sights are to narrow for a big rig. The turns are sharp and narrow. The hook ups are not well designed. You have to use extension. When we opened the door we had a mud hole. Putting a mat down mad us slip and almost hit our head on the steps. You can not walk your dog because it's to muddy. Lots of permanent residents with trashy sights. We stayed one night and left. Lost our money for the other 3 nights. Management did not care about all the mud and our dissatisfaction.

Yelp
It didn't start off great. Check in was a mess. The girl that was supposed to be checking people in just kept staring out the window and finally came out after 5 minutes. She told us our site number but "didn't have a map" and told us just keep turning left until you find it. And they don't have escorts like KOA or Yogi Bear. Just on your own and good luck. We found it...out in the middle of the section of camp where the long term residents live. Toby the maintenance supervisor happened to be driving by and knew it wasn't right so he took it upon himself to find a spot closer to the activities so our kids didn't have to go to the opposite side of the camp to play. The GM did make it right and upgraded our spot but don't let the website mislead you. Premium site means out back in the weeds and dirt. They also have no means to make sure people don't just come in and out or follow the late hour rules. The people across from us had 20 people over every night and were outside partying until 4 am 3 nights in a row. Fun for them but it was not family oriented. The GM was aware but she continued to let them stay and it happened every night. Nobody answers the after hours number. Over all nice place, nice amenities but not all together family friendly.

Yelp
Amber, Brooke and Chris are AMAZING. We had such a great time. The mixology class was so much fun. I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Stayed here for 3 nights on Memorial Weekend and it was absolutely wonderful. Great customer service, pool and Squirrley's Tavern were fully staffed with very attentive workers. The food was great the whole day with an amazing Sunday breakfast! Definitely recommend!!

Yelp
Be prepared for extreme disappointment. I had very high hopes for my stay at Camp Fimfo but our stay was very disappointing. I want to preface this review by saying I have spoke with management at Camp Fimfo Waco and their solution to the issues I had was to thank me for my comments and they will do better in the future. When I began planning our cross country move, Waco was going to be a good midway point for us to stop and relax for a bit. It was important to find a place to stay where we wouldn't have to leave property and could just hang out and relax before having to drive another 1600 miles. Camp Fimfo appeared to fit all of our needs so I didn't mind spending more due to the amenities that were being offered. Camp Fimfo sent out various emails and updates prior to the stay letting us know what to expect and that the bar at the pool would be closed. I contacted them after receiving that email to confirm that the bar and restaurant would still be open and the staff on the phone confirmed that it would be open for our dates. Upon arrival, we were informed that the general store and all of the bars were closed but then happily tried to sell us on using the pool in 45 degree weather and raining.... I should have just cancelled my stay at this point but I had no time to throw together a backup plan. We get to our "Red Carpet" RV spot only to find it covered in mud with an extremely narrow pad and very little room to make the turn into the pull through site. The sewer connections are far away from the camper sewer drain and I was unable to use them due to only having one hose. If the general store was open, I could have fixed that issue and gotten another hose... The weather was a problem as it was cold and raining for our entire stay. I don't blame this on Camp Fimfo. The problem that was not addressed in planning the site was how much water the ground holds and lack of drainage. This cause a muddy soupy mess that made walking the dogs pretty ridiculous. As much as we tried to wipe down their paws before entering the RV, they still tracked mud everywhere. Out of the 6 different pros that we stayed in on our trip, we had rain at 3 of them. Camp Fimfo was the only park that we had any problems with the dogs getting extremely muddy. When it came time for dinner, we had to take a 15 minute ride into town and find a place to eat and then drive back only to be cooped up in our camper the rest of the evening. It would have been nice to relax on property. When we went to pull out the next morning, I had to get out of the truck and find construction workers 3 different times to ask them to move their vehicles due to them blocking right of ways preventing us from exiting the park. We finally got to the front office and I had planned to stop and address these issues in person with personnel but at 9AM, the office was locked and there was no one there. I tried to call them around noon only to get a voicemail. The next day I called again and left another voicemail. The following day I called again and spoke with someone who informed me that someone had tried to reach me but had the wrong number for me. Hard to believe that when I left my number twice on voicemails and they had sent me numerous texts about the stay prior to us getting there and had the right number. The only communication I was able to get out of them was email. I gave them a chance to make this right prior to writing this review and their solution was to say sorry, we will do better in the future. I paid about $50 more for this park than all of the others on my trip and they offered less amenities than any other park. They failed on setting expectations prior to the stay and failed again when given the chance to make it right. The RV resort has the ability to be something fun and great but seems like they are going to fail due to the leadership there. I hope this review helps someone else in the future have a better experience than me. I guess the "we're sorry" apology is all I am going to get out of them for my experience.

Yelp
Camp Fimfo was a great time! We went with our freinds for Memorial Weekend. Had a great time, the drinks were great. The drinks had great deals and all the staff were friendly and delivered fast service. Food was great! There are many fun activities for the kids and families there, great location and for a family environment! Definitely recommend!

Yelp
We travrl 9hrs hoping to have a great experience at the camping resort and we booked a stay in the magnolia cabin and the space was very basic. The floors were very dirty and we only had enough sheets for one bed and none of the beds were made yet we were expectedyo atrip the beds at check out. They had the bare necessities. No extra toilet paper, dish soap(but we were required to wash all our dishes) no extra tash bags etc. We didn't have the proper utensils for cooking or grilling( and i didn't pack any because the website stated it was stocked kitchen) When we arrived they tried to charge us an additional $250 because we had 6 guest and the already paid. For cost of $480 only covered the cost for 4 guest. The overall camping resort was overrated and over priced. The waterpark area was small and overcrowded more suited for families with kids ages 5 and under. The only thing that was convenient was the river access and the on-site grill. I would not recommend this to anyone on a budget or anyone traveling a long distance. We were very disappointed with our experience.
